Martin will blame Michelle for him being a crap parent now too.
Bex was being bullied LONG before Michelle showed up.
That's not the point though?
Michelle allowed her American tomboy to take advantage of his daughter and allowed him to jump into bed with Bex whilst still sleeping with him herself. She's her niece.
Sick.
DS seem intent on making it all Martin's fault too and it's baffling. He's fully entitled to feel the way he does about Michelle. What she did was disgusting.

14-04-2017, 07:43 PM
Neglect? Erm, no. Maybe if she was 9 but she's a teenager who doesn't tell people what's going on. Not the same thing.
However, wasn't Martin called into the school when Bex was attacked in the toilets? So, how was he not told who specifically attacked her and recognise them hanging around the Square.
It's silly writing like that which spoils the storyline.

Ronnie and Roxy will return from the dead on Monday night's episode, a source has revealed.
On Easter Monday, reminiscent of Jesus's Resurrection, Ronnie and Roxy arrive back on the square with an agenda.
On Friday night's episode, viewers witnessed Amy ask Dot if her mother and aunt would come back to life like Jesus leading viewers to believe a return for the sisters was inevitable.

SOC's main aims; wipe out as many Mitchell's and Carter's as possible, make it the Fowler show.
You get people on DS praising him saying "The show was too Carter heavy he's rectifying it" but they're all the same as one another the producers just with different preferences. Instead of Mick and his family at the forefront, it's Michelle and anyone vaguely related.

Tbf, it's not just them. Literally all the characters on the show are having some form of money troubles. Denise and her lack of a job, the Fowlers, Michelle, the Beale's losing the chippy.
Yet Abi swans about on a never ending day off. Every time she appears she says "It's my day off today". Here for the reveal that she lost her job and is pretending.

Patsy Palmer was on Loose Women earlier and said she doesn't like EastEnders just now (a SOC hater?) but wouldn't rule out returning in the future (just not at the moment)
This is such a stupid story line because obviously anybody would find the money from somewhere to save their dog and so it's predictable. I would literally prostitute myself or sell everything I owned to keep my dogs alive and it's just a silly story to even show a hint of hesitation from the characters about the cost of Miss Lady Di's treatment because no normal loving dog owner would think twice about giving up anything to save their dog.

It's stupid because Elaine's had a stroke, Nancy's been hit by a car, Lee's gone AWOL after his suicide attempt, Sylvie's dead, Shirley has terrible B.O. Like COME ON SOC, get some imagination for stories.

The script-writing for this show is absolutely dire.
They've made Shirley look like right idiot in tonight's show. Why on earth would she crouch down in the kitchen, and say "Let's dry you off" when the roof is still leaking?
The fake-interview scene between Ian/Jane and Lauren was so cliche as well.

The stories are so predictable.
That mud fight with Bex and Louise was so cliche and stupid I was so glad Louise dismissed her again two scenes later.
Then we have the cliche "Donna and Jay bond" even though the hate between them didn't make any sense anyway. Jay has never been portrayed the way he's suddenly being written recently. A Jack the lad he aint. And also Ben is overdoing the cockney geezer almost as bad as Danny Dyer does. Except it kind of feels more authentic with Dyer, it's forced here.
Then we have the Lauren stuff, absolute crud. Predictable.
I'm calling it now, this Clark Kent bloke is working on Max's say so.
And honestly, that scene with him following Shirley, unrealistic, crap and out of character for both. Not believable, His entire storyline (if it can be called that) is crap.
Marsh.
22-04-2017, 01:23 AM
Now Coronation Street, it too has predictable stock soap stories going on and yet, the way they've plotted some of them they've managed to make a cliche "He's my son" revelation genuinely surprising. Rob's breakout, we all knew it was happening and it's absolutely ludicrous, yet they made it surprising and intriguing.
SOC has sucked out any energy, drama or intrigue the show and its cast had.
Will.

EastEnders bullies Madison Drake and Alexandra D'Costa have a brand new target next week as they turn their spiteful attentions to Louise Mitchell.
The mean girls have spent the past few weeks making Bex Fowler's life a misery, but they've now been forced to leave her alone after her mum Sonia briefly returned and reported them to the school.
Needing a new victim, Madison (Seraphina Beh) and Alexandra (Sydney Craven) return to their old tricks next week by starting to make life difficult for Louise instead of Bex.
Still pretending to be friends with Louise (Tilly Keeper), the pair seize their chance as soon as her back is turned while visiting her house.
With Louise out of the room, Madison and Alexandra play havoc with the contents of her school bag, but what exactly are they planning? And is this just the start of what they have in store for her?

I feel like we're seeing characters from an outsider's perspective. We're basically just watching them going about their day-to-day lives and, like Marsh said, trivial matters... But we're not seeing anything from the characters' perspectives. It makes it difficult to sympathise with them.
Take Stacey's bipolar disorder for example, the producers did a brilliant job of creating the storyline through the eyes of Stacey. These days, the focus is sort of taken off of what should be the focal character, thus eliminating the audience's ability to be able to feel how they feel. Effectively, SOC has created distance between the audience and the narrative.
