 As much as I like the Carters, the show managed perfectly fine before them and will after them.

It's survived the loss of Den, Angie, Peggy, Pauline, Pat, Grant and other much more popular, much more famous characters.

Marsh.

Zsa Zsa is kinda pointless because she doesnt get on with her family

True. SOC doesn't like drama so her coming back and having a less than cosy time with Tina wouldn't work.

We need people who get on. Conflict isn't needed in a serialised soap opera.

Isn't it ironic that now that SOC is actively trying to broaden the community aspect and make it feel like an ensemble, the show actually feels more dead and lifeless than ever.

Like think back to the time Lucy died and the whole thing was bustling.

Or when Janine tried to flee and all the characters were stood around in the Christmas market watching her get arrested.

It feels empty now. EastEnders is at its best when it feels busy.

It feels like hardly anyone is there.

It's probably because Linda and Sonia are on a break, Ronnie and Roxy died, Lee and Claudette left etc so there's a lot of broken families and units.

I do agree though.

It feels like hardly anyone is there.

It's probably because Linda and Sonia are on a break, Ronnie and Roxy died, Lee and Claudette left etc so there's a lot of broken families and units.

And then you have people who are supposed to be in the midst of quite big stories like Jack and Max. Jack's grieving and dealing with Glenda (who they've shipped off again), dealing with Matthew who would definitely have had Dot and Charlie interfering. Then Max with his revenge plot which has had one scene, and trying to repair his relationship with his family.

But, no, the show just has no buzz or movement in its stories at all.

They were in the later stages of his tenure and really not that good.

But give me Gavin holding the Mitchell's hostage with a lighter, Claudette clawing her way out of six feet of concrete and Margaret falling on Buster's windscreen any day over the boring drivel we have now.

She appeared once in February 2015 for like two scenes. Then told Phil she was dying (or rather mimed it, I don't think she had lines) in November 2015 and then came back for like 2 episodes to die.

If anything, her exit was rushed to feck.

Apparently Samantha Womack and Diane Parish had a feud at one point, and so did Sam Womack and Maggie O'Neill who played Suzy Branning

Yeah, I heard Sam and Maggie didn't get on but Diane is old friends with Maggie from way before the show so she became involved resulting in Suzy being written out. :worry:

Janine snatched her planned stories in taking over the Vic with Archie, being thrown out and being a suspect in his murder and also being the one to kill Danielle.
