I know I criticise Sean O'Connor but Tina/Sylvie story is excellent as is Tina's friendship with Kathy.
I also loved the bullying scenes, I thought they were so powerful. Louise being too cowardly to stand up to them is important to showcase and I feel really bad for Bex.
Ronald.
18-03-2017, 02:14 PM
Bravo the eastenders team this week some hard hitting and well acted scenes .
Louise and bex are proving to be strong and talented actresses . I can see them being around for years . Horrible to see what those girls are putting young Rebecca through .
Great to see Lauren getting some screen time too . The curvaceous branning showed her cheeky side with the photocopier guy . More believable a romance than anything we've seen with her and Steven . Hope she gets some meaty story lines soon .
Have just caught up on all this week's episodes . Carmel still being annoying and Sylvie is a tremendous actress also .
R.

The actress who plays Bex has really stepped up this week.
I wasnt sure if she was capable but she has proved me wrong
Ashley.
18-03-2017, 02:17 PM
The only thing I dislike about the bullying storyline is the fact that they don't seem to be adding any sort of dimension to the characters, which seems to be a recurring problem in storylines like this.
Even if it's just introducing family members, I'd be all for that to be honest.
Denver
18-03-2017, 02:21 PM
They seem to be adding Star as an unlikely Ally to Bex which is likely to make the bullying worse because Louise hates her because of what happened to Jay

Yeah I get this, because from our point of view it's pretty obvious they're bullies. I'd be interested to see what others think of them and why it's so hard for the school to see that they're picking on Bex.
I do think bringing Star back was a nice touch, though, even though she hasn't been seen in a long time
Wizard.

"I'm interested in the idea of community in a world that is quite fractured at the moment. Whether that be Brexit or Trump… I think the idea of community is being questioned, maybe even threatened, and all soaps are about community. EastEnders is not realistic, it's always been a fantasy, a fiction of what community is, but in that fantasy or fiction there is a deeper truth, and it's to do with the robustness of the format."

THIS is what we are dealing with...
https://rts.org.uk/article/eastenders-sean-oconnor-“they’re-more-characters-they’re-your-mates”
“The reason I went on and did Helen and Rob in The Archers is because I think we didn’t do that story justice well enough on Eastenders…I think we learned from the mistake of making that story quite sensational.”
He sees the Mo and Trevor story as a failure on EE.
It's a soap opera pal, it's heightened realism. It's supposed to border on sensational and thus making it DRAMA/ENTERTAINMENT.
Bloody fool.

“We’re doing a story now about Ian [Beale] and diabetes…so we’re getting a major character at 7.30, four times a week talking about this manageable illness, this disease, and it’s not who shot Phil but it will have the seismic social effect,"
The man is a MANIAC.
I can't believe he slagged off the Trevor and Little Mo story. The only difference between that story and the Rob and Helen one in the Archers was that Rob didn't die in a fire.
Marsh.
