Hanna. Described as "a modern day Leon", which it wasn't. However I thought it was a really good story about a young girl raised to be the perfect assassin. I really liked the music too, by the Chemical Brothers.

Just watching "The Island" on itv2. Started off well and has an interesting premise, but it's suddenly fell into a huge mess.

Looked on imdb and it's a Michael Bay film. There's a surprise. lol

The Cake Eaters, it was really good. Kristen played a character with something called Friedreich's Ataxia, I never heard of the illness before, but it's like she's kinda retarded. It was about another family as well, they were dealing with the aftermath of their mom dying. Not sure why it was called The Cake Eaters, no one ate cake in it.

Crazy Stupid Love, I wasn't too fond of the first half it was a bit meh and seemed somewhat shallow. But it's worth watching till the end.

Orphan (2009)

I flicked right passed this as I'm not a big horror watcher and thought it was an "Omen" type film. As usual, nothing else was on so I gave it a go. Wow, quite different to the Omen. lol
It was actually pretty good considering what I was expecting. It actually had a storyline which is a bonus for today's films but ...

the little girl being a 33 year old patient from a mental institution was a little difficult to take but the reveal was cool. Very creepy when she's coming onto the father (who annoyed the hell out of me throughout), and smothers the brother in his bed.
The acting was good and I'm glad the little deaf girl got revenge at the end.
Glad it didn't go down the supernatural route neither.

All in all a good film. Wish they'd put more rarely seen films on instead of the constant barrage of Bridget Jones, Bodyguard etc.

Got to disagree. I really liked the movie and the reveal was very good but it was very far fetched.

I spent the last 15 minutes wondering what the director was saying to the little girl when she was questioning what they were making her do on the set.

Especially when she said the line "I'll cut off your hairless little prick before you figure out what it's for". lol

Just sat through "The Wedding Date" on E4.

Was interested in the cast, a load of Brit TV stars and a few American ones but my god what a load of crap. I usually don't mind some rom-coms they can be an easy watch but this was awful. Crap story, predictable with some very bad acting.

5.5/10

I think you have to be in the right mindset to watch this film, perhaps after great loss within the immediate family. Enjoyed Damon's acting just fine and thought Scarlett was well over the top, and not in a good way. I'd rather have watched The Zookeeper again.

Watched The Woman in Black last night - it was a real let down. It could have been amazing, but instead it was embarrassingly cliched and predictable. It reminded me of a poor take on The Orphanage, what with all the dead kids, and as for the woman in black whose identity we discovered towards the end and whom we got to see up close, what was all that about? The ending was cringeworthy and mawkish and Daniel Radcliffe had the same baffled expression and dead eyes throughout, no matter what was happening. I can't see him as a leading man at all. His acting was appalling.

Come and See - I was a bit dissapointed considering it's meant to be one of the best war films of all time, the first hour or so was incredibly slow and pretty pointless in the end as well, the second half of the film was a lot more gripping though, and pretty harrowing too. Probably be best liked by real art film buffs who go on about the cinematography and camera shots and stuff like that - 7/10

Saw Hunger Games a few days go on opening night:

Negative:
- Camera Too Shaky at points
- Too many awkward angles and shots
- Being a fan of Woody Harrelson, I was dissapointed he didn't really portray haymitch properly , thought he would do a good job portraying a bad ass
- Some odd casting choices ( Cato and Clove ) comes to mind
-FAKE fire effects that made me lol

Positives:
-Jennifer Laurence was an amazing actress
-Effy did an amazing job ( good chemistry between her, the tributes and haymitch, although not portraying the relationship in the book very well )
- Good job on sets and locations
-Had most of what was in the book

Overall: 7/10
Good but by no means great

Contagion.

It was alright... felt like it was trying too many different angles, though. It reminded me of 'Crash'. A very star-studded cast and lots of different problems trying to be tackled but there's not really any resolution or coherent message. It should've tried more to focus on the personal side because they've got the actors to pull off an emotional impact (Matt Damon's acting is, as always, excellent), but there were a host of political tangents that just felt a bit shallow (Laurence Fishburne's character) and stereotypical (Jude Law's sceptical journalist).
