Good drama. But nearly 3 hours long and I didn't realise it was an unsolved crime. <_<

bit of a disappointing ending I must admit! lmao

In my humble opinion Zodiac is the most underrated film of the last 4 or 5 years.

Watched Terminator Salvation. Wasn't the total disaster I had been expecting as it kept me mildly entertained for the most part until it's poor final act, but I wont be watching it again. A nothing film.

Inglourious Basterds. Very entertaining piece but suffers from Tarantino's usual failings. Having said that, as a movie geek, I adore his penchant for referencing so many other works and there's a comfortable familiarity involved for me with any film he makes - I just sit back and enjoy a well made piece of hokum. He's a lover of movies, but he's not an artist.

Some are depraved yes, but horrors are a fascinating insight into the hidden fears and anxieties of a society at a particular point in time. There's no other genre that's as primal.... strikes a chord within us that other ones can't get near.

It didn't, the real life sections were all faked, like Blair witch. There's no records of any of the people in the 'real life' sections before this year. It's a publicity stunt.

The last film I saw was 'Zak and Miri make a porno'. It was very funny.

he was talking about Changeling...which did happen.

Harry Brown - While I love Michael Caine and, as per usual he puts in a wonderful performance, the whole film really plays like a convulted little thriller/action vehicle that never choses to really tackle the problems of urban violence in any real depth. In terms of production values it looks really slick and the acting in general is excellent, but I would have prefered more than just a serviceable action flick that resorts to playing out general stereotypes and never delves into the greyer areas of modern day violence.

Still though, worth it just to watch the great Michael Caine opening a can of whoop ass on a bunch of reprehensible thugs.

I told you about The Lion in Winter ages ago. Tut tut. Decent film that's elevated purely because of the acting talent involved.

For Audrey I'd go for Wait Until Dark. Excellent thriller and Alan Arkin plays a great nutcase in it.

Oh I fell in love with Clark in his first scene in the film I think LOL! They certainly don't make men like him anymore! I wasn't sure I'd be able to sit through the whole thing tbh but the almost 4 hours just flew by in the end, simply a beautiful film and the acting is just stellar!

I think both versions are nice in their own ways, but I've always preferred the original for some reason because it concentrated more on the real love affair of the story for me, without sinking into melodrama. I enjoy ambiguity and longing in flicks I suppose, I don't know.

I got sent the extended version from Netflix saying "2 hrs 3 min" on the cover, turns out when I pressed pause I saw that the actual length was "2 hrs 53 min"

Usually when a film is near 3 hours, I don't watch it until I'm in a certain mood - which the mood comes rarely. It was lengthy, but it was kind of the longing for love that had already passed part I enjoyed.

Yep, and the original release it ends on that note, rather than reintroducing the love interest, which I felt was more powerful and in keeping with the tone of the film that preceeded it. Anyway, the real love story for me was between the boy and the projectionist.... it was so touching.
