I know lol, that was dreadful. Serves him right for trying to be cheeky; just needed a whack in any corner and they'd have won.
Well done Villa.
Oh, and Wilshere fcking class; I hope we see more of him next season, although Wenger will spout his usual "patience" ********.
He's 17 yet he's got a football brain of a 28 year old. What a bloody gem.
Im a gooner btw but you can't throw a 17 year old in premier league games week in week out when he isn't fully developed as in muscle span. He would take a lot of sore hits. He needs time to grow. From a football perspective, he is miles ahead of most PL footballers tbh.
Everton's Under-16s have won the Milk Cup for a second year in a row.
The young Blues beat Watford 4-1 in the final on Friday to be crowned champions of Northern Ireland’s international youth tournament.
Everton beat strong competition from around the world in four earlier stages to progress to the final, where Everton looked comfortable throughout.
Hallum Hope, who scored a hat-trick in last year's final, opened the scoring just four minutes into the tie while Chris Long doubled the Blues' advantage moments later.
And on the brink of half time Everton's lead was increased to three as Hope netted his second of the match.
Everton continued to dominate proceedings during the second period looking dangerous on the attack, and Anton Forrester got his name on the score sheet to make it 4-0 with twenty minutes to go.
The Hornets' goal in stoppage came just too late to make an impact, and Everton were deservedly crowned champions after a thoroughly impressive performance.
Won it with ease.

Not at all, and I don't expect that to happen. I mean ffs, he's being touted for a possible England World Cup squad call up already. It would be nice to see more of him than we have seen in the real competitive games.

Good news for Arsenal Bad news for Everton.
As Nasri is out against Everton, it seems Fellani will not be able to play Arsenal in their first game of the season.
Good news for everton i reckon then
Don't rate fellani that much
Midfield four should be

Real Madrid have had an offer of €32 million accepted by Liverpool for Xabi Alonso and a pre-accord has been sealed that will see the player move back to Spain this week, according to a report.
A meeting between the two clubs in Barcelona at the weekend saw a thaw in the frosty stand-off, and with Los Merengues showing some goodwill, an agreement was reached, Sport state.
Liverpool were holding out for £30 million, while Madrid were keen to pay only €30million, but the rise of €2m has seen the Reds accept the offer.
The Spanish giants' director general, Jose Angel Sanchez, met with Liverpool's financial director, Christian Purslow, in a hotel within walking distance of Camp Nou.
Talks were friendly, but firm, Sport believe, with Madrid accepting that they would have to move their bid up if they were to persuade Liverpool to let the player go.
Alonso has made it clear that he wants to make the switch and become part of Florentino Perez's new look Galacticos, and for such a sum Rafa Benitez is willing to do business.
A deal with the player himself was reached weeks ago and he has had to remain patient while the two clubs postured and searched for a way forward, but now that has happened he can prepare for the transfer.
Before and after Liverpool's friendly against Espanyol in Barcelona on Sunday, Alonso, whose father Periko played for the Blaugrana, remained tight-lipped about joining Real Madrid.

Some better news:

Reports in Spain suggest that Liverpool have completed a deal for Alberto Aquilani, the Roma midfielder.
According to reports, Liverpool and Manchester United are set to battle for the signature of David Villa, the Valencia forward

I'm kinda glad we've been priced out for Chamakh - I would rather us purchase a more established name with a good goal scoring record. Bordeaux are taking the piss with 15m squid anyway.
Liverpool have reached an agreement to sell midfielder Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid, subject to a medical.
The fee for the Spanish international is reported to be in the region of £30m but Liverpool said the terms of the deal would remain confidential.

I agree, Toure was obviously the back-up plan if their Terry bid failed, which it did. Same could be said for Lescott really; Everyon don't intend to sell him so Toure would have been their final option. I'm sure if we waited a bit they would have splashed out more for him, but 15m is still a nice piece to add to our Adebayor money.
Now if only Wenger would spend some of it!

Yeah, possibly but the guy will gift team's goals in a season. I would bet money on him costing Everton a goal this coming season due to him switching off and letting a forward in or him letting the ball bounce over his head and the forward lashing onto the end of it. His performance in the CL quarter final in 2008 againt Liverpool was a disgrace. Single handly cost us two goals on the night and the tie overall tbh.

Kind of ironic that Man utd have 'written liverpool off' and then it turns out that one of their most important players will be out for a couple of months. van der sar is a great keeper and Man U will be lost without him. He must be about 38 anyway, so this could be his last season.

I think Alonso is a really good player - one of the best distributors of the ball playing the game today. He brings calmness to the midfield and I would have loved to have seen him at Arsenal. Having said that, I would have paid about 20M for his services, nothing more. It's just that Madrid have been disgusting with their transfer fee's this summer. Having said that, I would have paid about 20M for his services, nothing more. It's just that Madrid have been disgusting with their transfer fee's this summer. I will bloody laugh my arse off if they win fcuk all.
Same. £30m is a bit of a joke imo. They are using up SO much money its unbelievable.
Tbh i would like to see football taking a step back (obv. wont happen) and for money to be reduced in football. Its such a money-filled sport it can be disgusting at times.

Liverpool have confirmed they have agreed a fee with Roma for Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani.
The transfer is reported to be worth £20m and is subject to a medical being completed later in the week.
"Alberto has a winning mentality and great experience in both Serie A and the Champions League," said Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez.

According to the Correire dello Sport, AC Milan have reportedly signed Klaas-Jan Huntelaar from Real Madrid for a fee of €15m. The actual signing should take place tomorrow - if this Italian report is accurate.
Update: Other sources, including Marca and SkySport 24, are also stating that it is a done deal. Update 2: Goal.com also understands that this is the case.

The former West Ham United captain, Lucas Neill, is in talks with Sunderland, according to reports

Further to the valuation of Aguero, Chelsea are said to be readying an offer of £38m plus a player, believed to be midfielder Deco.

Pavel Pogrebynak: Why Did Liverpool, Spurs or Arsenal Not Sign the Bargain £4M Russian Hitman?
Pavel PogrebynakRussian hitman Pavel Pogrebnyak moved to Bundesliga giants Stuttgart last weekend for a cut-price fee despite Premier League interest this summer. The highly-rated 25-year-old international signed for a mere £4m which prompts the question, why didn’t the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham take a gamble on him.
Pogrebynak had even suggested a move to Arsenal was his preference which would have seen him team up with former international and club team-mate Andrei Arshavin at the Emirates. He had said, “It is the first time I’ve heard about Arsenal’s interest, but, of course, I’m pleased that the club is interested in me.
“I think that for any player to get the opportunity to work with Arsene Wenger would be a big step forward.”
He wanted to sign for us before the transfer window opened..

Could drop Gerrard back into the center and play Aquilani as an attacking mid, can't see Benitez wanting to take the Gerrard-Torres partnerhip apart though.
He's changed a lot of players positions before though, Garcia was an attacking mid when we signed him and ended up playing on the right wing everytime he played, Diouf was a striker and ended up on the right wing, and Kuyt was a striker and mainly plays on the right wing now, so he'll probably just drop Aquilani into the center, but we're supposedly still interested in Poulsen anyway.

Yea we were linked with him weren't we; maybe we still are. Now he's a striker I wouldn't mind seeing with us.
I'm hearing rumours, albeit not very good ones, that Tomas Rosicky sustained a hamstring injury in training today and could be out for up to 5 weeks. This may be absolute bollox but nothing would surprise with our luck with injuries and especially as Rosicky has been out for over a year because of the hamstring.

And i'm glad Chamakh hasn't come to Arsenal, 15m is way to much for a player that is as mediocre as him.
Disagree mate. I keep hearing people talk about Huntelaar but it's more about signing some one for the sake of signing some one. We have a much better player than Huntelaar in the similar mold in Eduardo IMO. Plus i think Eduardo is a better finisher as well. We don't need him IMO.
We need a central midfielder and for me that needs to be the number 1 aim.

Not counting youngsters who havent played first team yet... And not including goal keepers or reserve players.
Liverpool
Defence: Johnson, Agger, Aurélio, Carragher, Insua, Skrtel, Dossena (could leave) - 7
Midfield: Gerrard, Riera, Benayoun, Kuyt, Mascherano, Lucas, Plessis, El Zhar, Aquilani. - 9
Striker: Babel, Torres, N gog, Voronin. - 4
Total: 20
Arsenal
Defence: Sagna, Vermalelen, Gallas, Song, Silvestre, Djourou, Clichy, Gibbs, Traore. - 9
Midfield: Diaby, Fabregas, Rosicky, Nasri, Denilson, Ramsey, Wilshire, Arshavin, Eboue, Merida - 10
Striker: Van Persie, Walcott, Vela, Bendtner, Eduardo. - 5
Total: 24
Chelsea
Defence: Cole, Ivanovic, Carvalho, Terry, Alex, Belletti, Mancienne - 7
Midfield: Essien, Lampard, Cole, Mikel, Ballack, Malouda, Zhirkov, Deco, Kalou - 9
Striker: Shevchenko, Drogba, Pizarro, Sinclair, Sturridge, Anelka - 6
Total: 22
Man Utd
Defence: Neville, Evra, Ferdinand, Brown, Vidic, O' Shea, Fabio, Rafael, Evans - 9
Midfield: Hargreaves, Anderson, Park, Tosic, Carrick, Nani, Scholes, Fletcher, Valencia, Gibson, Giggs - 11
Striker: Owen, Berbatov, Rooney, Welbeck, Macheda, Obertan - 6
Total: 26
So
Man Utd : 26
Arsenal : 24
Chelsea : 22
Liverpool : 20
So Arsenal were said to have not enough depth.
But it was just the vast amount of injuries we had.. as we have enough players..

A manager who has billions? Yeah, great idea.
Wenger's made bad decisions but look at what he has had to work with compared to Fergie and the manager of Chelsea.
Wenger would do no worse than Ferguson has if he was Man Utd manager. Im talking money wise. Arsenal can't go out and spend 25-30 million on one player and then go and do it again for another player.

Zidane reveals major Arsenal offer for Real Madrid's Huntelaar
07.08.09 | tribalfootball.com
Zinedine Zidane has revealed Arsenal have made an offer for Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Daily Mail says Real Madrid special adviser Zidane has told journalists that Arsenal bid £17m for Huntelaar, but the Holland striker, also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, is closing in on a move to AC Milan.
Indeed, AC Milan are expected to announce Huntelaar's signing today, with the Dutchman due in Italy.

Arsenal up Marouane Chamakh offer to £7.5m as Zidane claims Gunners bid £17m for Spurs target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
Arsenal are set to make an improved £7.5million bid for Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh.
The French club felt the original £6m was ridiculous for a player they valued at £15m, but the Gunners have played hardball on player who is out of contract next summer.
Bordeaux are now desperate to do a deal after conceding that Chamakh will not sign a new contract and they are aware that the 25-year-old has his heart set on north London despite competing interest from Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers.
The Ligue 1 champions' president Jean-Louis Triaud said on Wednesday challenged Arsenal to raise their bid, but Arsene Wenger's men are still short of a revised £10m price-tag.
Wenger is using interest in Chelsea forward Salomon Kalou to show that he is prepared to walk away from a bid to sign Chamakh.
Kalou, 24, has a year left on his Stamford Bridge contract and is thought to be available for about £8m.
Real Madrid special adviser Zinedine Zidane has also told journalists that Arsenal bid £17m for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, but the Holland striker, also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, is closing in on a move to AC Milan.
Wenger has threatened to wait for Morocco international Chamakh, who could earn a massive pay rise on his current £16,000 a week if he sits out the final year of his contract.
Spurs and Fulham have also previously shown interest in Chamakh.

Terrible the Rosicky news, without nasri and rosicky it could make the season start hard.

From Arsenal.com.
"Arsène Wenger is targeting up to two new players before the transfer window closes – but Patrick Vieira is unlikely to be one of them.
Speaking at the launch of Arsenal’s Charity of the Season, the French manager suggested he was interested in “one offensive and one defensive player” to add to his squad."

See, the downside about signing Hangeland now is that he would be ineligible to play in the Champions League should we progress to the group stages. It would have been nice to have him available for all competitions, especially the CL. Oh well, I'm sure we would be able to cope. He would definitely bolster our chances of a title success so I'm hoping we can get him.

Liverpool FC confirmed this evening that Alberto Aquilani has successfully completed a medical and agreed a five-year contract with the club.

Wenger has said..
The top 4 wont be the top 4 forever you can see that, there has only been 2 teams that have been in the top 4 every year for the last 10 years (Man Utd and Arsenal btw) and things are changing..
It will now become the top 6 with villa and a surprise team getting the other top spot.
He also said that man city wont make top 4 at least this season, with how many new players they have its changed the dynamics of the team and think its a technical gamble..he doesnt believe they will click together i guess and will finish outside the top 6.
