Early short spoilers for late April have revealed that Max will be back in Walford on Tuesday, April 24 – and it's fair to say that the locals are less than pleased to see him.

With limited information available at the moment, fans will just have to wait and see if Max can amends for his recent sins, but he's certainly got some very big bridges to build.

I'm really not interested and think his reappearance will actually drag the show further down. :(

EastEnders is lining up a brand new feud for Max Branning when he returns, as he'll be going head-to-head with Phil Mitchell again.

We've already revealed how Max (Jake Wood) will be returning to Walford next week, having been off screen since Abi's funeral back in February.

But as expected, his comeback will be far from straightforward, and it looks like he'll be diving headfirst into more drama.

The Mirror reports that Max will announce he's the proud new owner of the car lot – immediately putting him back into battle with Phil (Steve McFadden).
