Probably best not to go down that road as Redwater itself was set "21 years" after the events in summer 1994 (so 2015). But Kat and Alfie only left Albert Square for the last time after Charlie's death in January 2016 and Stacey was only told they were headed to Ireland in May 2017.

So, the Moon's are currently in some kind of time loop.

And the trailer makes it seem like Mo is in on the lie about Kat's death.

If you were going to have anyone's return as a surprise you'd have Kat's lmao.

I can't see Alfie of all people warranting a surprise appearance. Just what Shane Ritchie needs to inflate his ego.

But, if she's sticking around and they're not killing Alfie off, then he'll need to make an appearance at some point otherwise it wouldn't make sense him and the kids staying off screen and Kat just hanging around Walford without them.

I think, as characters they've both ran their course. There's not much they haven't done/been involved in. So, the only material left is for one to die and leave the other as a single parent. And, as Kat's the stronger character, it would have to be Alfie that dies IMO.

I definitely prefer rough Jean to the caricature she became over her years on the Square. Difference is at one point she came across as an accurate representation of someone with unmedicated bipolar and at another point she just came off as some mentally challenged woman-child who lay in the bathtub every once in a little way to remind us she was still meant to be a hard-hitting depiction of mental illness.

They took the piss with Jean’s bipolar after a certain point. I’m all for a return to dark Jean.
