They shouldn't have axed her in the first place and when they did they should have left the door open since there's a lot of unexplored potential there. What bugs me tbh is when a character is not even featuring much anyway and some of them disappear into the background for a while but if an actor takes 6 weeks off they suddenly need a daft exit plot.
