According to several sources, PWTorch has been told that friends and fellow wrestlers have been told that former WWE star Umaga (Eddie Fatu) was found dead today by his wife. Another source says he is hospitalized in grave condition on life support awaiting his family arriving to be with him.

ProWrestling.net has reported that a family member has said reports of his death were premature. Multiple sources say his situation is "extremely serious" and "grave" and that family members are being told to rush to the hospital.

The suspicion is prescription pills is the cause, as Umaga was reportedly found bleeding from his nose and mouth.

We have also learned that WWE will be issuing a statement later today or this weekend once information is released by his family.

Umaga was released from his WWE contract in June after failing WWE's Wellness Policy for the second time. He was on the Hulkamania Tour in Australia that just concluded last weekend.

This news is just horrible. I always really rated and liked Umaga, for a big guy he could really move well and I hoped he might even come back to WWE, there had been talk of it recently.

I met him last year as well and he was such a lovely, sweet guy, seemed very genuine.

Vince isn't really doing much and hasn't been for years. His creative team writes the shows. Vince is just the go to guy who puts his stamp of approval on it.

I doubt Shane will go to TNA but are they really beating wwe in the UK ratings? If so that is fantastic news!

Hopefully the new decade will bring a new wrestling war and give Vince a good kick in the balls for eight years of crap. People were saying TNA was going to die every single year since it's inception. Look at it now.

Yep, the only two SANE members of the McMahon family are no longer with the company, does not bode well really. I'm not sure how involved Vince is on a day to day running of things basis these days mind you.

I had no idea that TNA were doing so well in this country?! That's brilliant news if true. TNA frustrates me beyond belief, they have SO much potential and get some momentum going with great storylines and feuds and then waste it all again. But the talent is certainly there and they could easily become the new WCW with the right handling.

Vince killed ECW, it's just a joke now. At least it will mean the likes of Christian can come over to SD or Raw and hopefully get a decent push. Calling that show ECW the past few years has just been a total insult to the original anyway!

They also do a great job in bringin new talent into the company......Samoa Joe to name one...

I think ill watch from after the next PPV see how i like it...

I have to say though, thank God Booker has gone from TNA now, headed back to WWE by all accounts. Stinking attitude and not great in the ring imo lately.

Angle is back to almost his best though, and I couldn't agree more with you about AJ Styles, he is just fanastic. The future of the company without a doubt. They have so many talented young guys, just hope that Hogan doesn't go in there with a giant wrecking ball and mess the whole thing up by putting himself first. He shouldn't even go near the ring imo.

You should download Bound For Glory and watch that if you haven't already, I really enjoyed it and definitely made me want to watch TNA on a weekly basis again. Their women's division is great too, if you discount Lacey Von Erich :joker:

I would love Y2J to save the WWE but listen....he's been back for what over a year now.......ratings didnt get any better after his brilliant promo's........Y2J needs to go back to the old Y2J thats what i loved about him, he was the best heel in the company, had the best matches (I'll give you that, he still does have the best), the countless matches with Benoit elavated him to superstardom. He was the best man on the mic and was the orton of that ERA. If he hadn't of left I really do think TNA wouldnt have have the roster they do now....certainly not Angle, or Foley anyway.... rant over haha

Some say that Umaga may have had a massive heart attack but that has not been confirmed. He fell asleep and his wife apparently was unable to wake him. Just to clear up a rumor that is going around on some websites, Eddie 'Umaga' Fatu is still alive at a hospital in Houston, TX. The family is being gathered as I write this.

According to a source, without a miraculous recovery, it is just a matter of time. Again, he has not passed away as of this writing.

We wish him all the best and hope things improve although that seems unlikely at this point. So sad. We are being very cautious as it pertains to this story as we want to pass along the correct info. to all of you.

Did you read the story that several of the news sites had up a few weeks back about it all being a set up by the police? From what was written, apparently the police in NC received an 'annonymous tip off' but didn't have any means of obtaining a search warrant for Jeff's house so they arranged for a package to be delivered to him, containing a certain amount of drugs enough to arrest him for having possession of. They were watching his house and as soon as he took possession of the package and took it inside, they banged on the door and produced a search warrant. Apparently all they found was the drugs in the package plus residual cocaine and weed. They were expecting to find a huge stash based on the 'tip off' they were given.

I don't know if there's any truth at all in that but Matt did allude to the fact that this story is how it went down, without saying so in as many words.

HULK HOGAN will make his return to wrestling for TNA live on Monday January 4.

TNA President Dixie Carter made the announcement last night, adding that the three-hour Impact show would go head-to-head against WWE Raw.

Dixie Tweeted: "Hogan to debut Jan 4 in a live 3 hr iMPACT! special up against Raw.

"How's that for a 1st shot? Spread the word."

Usually broadcast on Thursday nights in the States on Spike TV, this change is a one-off to herald the capture of WWE legend Hogan.

However many in TNA hope that, if successful, a move to earlier in the week could be permanent and herald the return of the WWE v WCW Monday Night Wars that took wrestling to new heights and record TV ratings.

Many of the players on the WCW side — including Hogan, Eric Bischoff and Kevin Nash — now work for TNA.

The company's world champion AJ Styles recently said of a permanent move to Mondays: "Absolutely. One day it will happen, there's no doubt about it. I know we can run with them."

And Dixie said in an interview on this week's Impact: "We are in to win it, not be satisfied with being the second largest wrestling company in the world.

"With the addition of Hulk Hogan we're not trying to recreate history, we're trying to make history.

"History for TNA, history for our fans, for our talent, for all those who have stuck with us for seven years and for those who are just discovering us today.

"We're going to see this thing all the way through and in the coming days you will see exactly how serious we are."

It's thought WWE will counter-programme with a three-hour episode of Raw featuring other legends from the past.

I'm sorry but going against Raw is ****ing retarded, any way you try to spin it. With the Hogan show it's a nice opening salvo but TNA are only doing a fraction of what Raw are doing in the states right now on a different night. Putting it up against Raw would be suicide and unnecessary.

Hogan as the new face of TNA would be a disaster. The orange one should work on creating at least one or two new stars. That would be more than what TNA has done like ... ever. This act of putting a midcarder in a main event slot for one night only like TNA always does is crap. Angle is seriously the only person ATM they can put the belt on and not have it look like a discount version of the 'E.

I hope they get rid of that gimmicky looking ring too and take things out of the fanboy drenched iMPACT Zone, even if it means putting the January show in Jimmy Hart's backyard. The ring does nothing for the ratings and I reckon Hogan won't want to wrestle in it anyway.

Anyway I think The Rock will probably end up hosting Raw the night they go head to head. Only a matter of time too before RVD, Flair and Kennedy come to TNA. And Sid. Hogan's a big fan of Sid. Sid ****ing rocks.

The mood backstage at RAW in Dallas, TX today is said to be somber due to the death of Umaga. Most figure it'll be worse tomorrow because his closest friends are mostly on the SmackDown! brand.

As of last word, a video package was being prepared. No word on when that will air. It may air at the start of the show tonight. They may also only air it on WWE.com. We'll see.

He could, and I hope he does, but to be honest it's not a war and we should not assume wwe will even do anything out of the ordinary. If they ran a Chavo Guerrero Vs. Hornswoggle rematch for Raw it would still easily dwarf TNA's ratings.

A success for TNA would be to maintain the same rating they always get, proving the TNA audience are a legitimate bunch, who would still choose TNA over WWE when forced to choose.
