Well it can't be any worse than WM27. What were they thinking?

Taker/Triple H next year or possibly Orton. I'd imagine it'll be he's last one so they'll want a big star.

And Rock won't be champ in the next three months. He probably wont even wrestle in the next twelve months.

THE ROCK has finally announced his return to active wrestling — but it won't be for another year.

After The Great One interfered in the WrestleMania main event to cost John Cena his title match against The Miz, he appeared again on Raw last night in Atlanta to face off with the former champion.

Cena set the challenge and Rock accepted, but stressed that the bout would be set for WrestleMania 28.

WWE's showpiece event takes place in Dwayne Johnson's hometown of Miami, and there is already speculation that The Rock might be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at the same time.

After Cena and Rock shook hands on the deal, they were attacked by The Corre, but between them they fought them off, each landing their signature moves on the hapless Wade Barrett and Heath Slater.

Fortunately the night was rounded off by Cena and Rock's historic declaration.

362 days to go. And counting...

Hall Of Fame Yes please

We'll see, Honestly i think it's a stupid idea on wwe's part to announce a match that won't happen for an entire year, Alot can happen over the space of a year which could mean this match not happening so i wouldn't get to excited.
If this does go down i can see wwe putting Cena over Rock as he is the guy at the moment much like Rock was when they put him over Hogan.

The WWE announced on their corporate website at corporate.wwe.com that Triple H and The Undertaker were fined for a chair shot to the head in their match this past Sunday at WrestleMania XXVII. Here is the announcement from their site:

Pursuant to WWE's Concussion policy, the stunt of using a folded metal chair shot to the head is prohibited. Triple H and The Undertaker have both been fined for violating this policy at WrestleMania XXVII. WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension for violation of this policy, which is unchanged and still in effect.

"@AverageJoeArt Of course if WWE wanted me back full time I would glady return. Not likely to hapen. It's a total WWE call & not mine."

7 years away.. exactly you would think he'd actually prepare himself to do a simple hop up but he ****ed it up.. Y2J has a better variation of moves then the Rock.. off course you are going to botch a few now and again ( not like he even botches that much anyway ) One simple move for the rock and he can't even doing it probably.. the only thing he has been good for since coming back is that Rock Bottom to Cena at WM and that's only because Miz retained.

I Never said Miz was better then the Rock... Grow some eyes when did i ever say that??? Wrestling ability the Rock is clearly better then the Miz but the Miz character has added new life into the WWE and has a hit out of nothing, Chris Jericho on the other hand i'd say beats the Rock hands down he's much more versatile in the ring just destroys Rock when it comes down to Move sets alone i find the Rock to predicable at times but Y2J can just pull anything out the bag at any moment.

Im the opposite completely, I hate Rock and Austin but I recently started wathing from 1997 onwards and they were the best thing to happen WWF then.... as was Taz (they completely destroyed his career, he could have had great feuds with Angle, Y2J and Benoit) but in all honesty looking back The Rock did so much for the fans and the business (not saying Y2J didnt, just he did it to a different audience).. I was a Triple H mark and now im the opposite, I dont care about him all that much, I'm definitely only watching WWE for The Rock at the moment, because everything else in WWE is horrific.

The Midcarders right now are more interesting then some of the Main eventers notably Edge and Dolph Ziggler, i think WWE don't really know how to use wrestlers these days which is why we haven't seen Drew been given a push or anything lately.. think they had the Idea of making him Champion last year with all the Chosen One and hand picked by Vince comments but nothing seems to be happening with him.. Same with Swagger really don't think they are sure what to do with him.. i think it was Karl who said back in the Attitude days everyone fitted their roles perfectly and everyone was so different and had much better Gimmicks and storylines to work with but now the storylines seem to be repeating themselves every month.. Orton punting everyone in the head.. Wade and the Corre facing random superstars without any purpose.... Dolph v Edge, LayCool and Vicki, Etc it's like they are afraid of changing things.

Iceman
08-04-2011, 01:45 AM
Agree completely, I swear it's the PG era that has done this.... look back to then you had the Hardcore Title (that suited about 10-15 wrestlers, you could mess around with who had it because it wasn't that prestigious), then you had the lower card who would be in the European Bracket which was fair enough (if they had this now Drew would have had a long reign, purely to promote Scotland) then you'd have the same we have now for the IC and US except you'd have more competition instead of feuds getting stale like Sheamus and Bryan.....

Iceman
08-04-2011, 01:55 AM
Actually the more I think of it, the more I'm annoyed that they got rid of the European belt, there must be more Europeans there now than there ever was when the belt was active....

off the top of my head, Wade, Drew, Sheamus, Santino....I'd say there's a few more too.

After their match at WM, Stratus hugged Snooki and went to hug Morrison, but he had turned his back on her. He refused to listen to any of her suggestions and it hurt her feelings. Word quickly spread in the locker room, garnering heat.

While Morrison is considered a nice guy, he's not respected amongst his peers. This dates back several years due to his real-life relationship with Melina. Particularly, he lost a lot of respect for allowing Melina to engage in a sexual relationship with former WWE talent Dave Bautista (a/k/a Batista) while the two were dating. The former WWE Champion made no qualms of being intimately involved with Melina in his 2007 autobiography, Batista Unleashed. He wrote:

"My wife thought I was sleeping with Melina right off the bat, while we were still married. It wasn't true, but it did make me feel guilty about being friends with her.

"Since then, as I've said, Melina and I have gotten closer and our relationship has become physical. That's caused a bit of controversy, but I don't give a ****. She's my friend, and I love her very much."

Paul London and Brian Kendrick revealed many stories involving Melina and Morrison in their 2010 "shoot" interview, Brian Kendrick & Paul London's Excellent Adventure. London stated that Morrison is 'spineless' because he repeatedly permitted Melina to engage in sexual activity with outside partners while the two were dating. He added that Morrison would accompany Melina on dates with her partner of choice. Kendrick also claimed that he himself had been intimate with Melina.

The Miz - " He did? I don't even remember all i remember is pinning John Cena 1,2,3 that's all i remember, I remember walking out the WWE Champion "

-then points to Jericho-

" I don't know did you see? "

We've now learned some more exclusive details on the live horse incident at WrestleMania 28. I never though I'd write that!!

According to our source, the horse was a 'Clydesdale'. Wikipedia says "The Clydesdale is a breed of draft horse derived from the farm horses of Clydesdale, Scotland, and named after that region." Our source says Triple H couldn't guide the massive animal away from the trap door, which had a casket (this would hold The Undertaker). That would then rise to the top of the stage during the entrances. According to the source, the horse fell through the stage with Triple H riding it and crushed the casket during the rehearsal. 'Taker was not inside at the time.

The arena was immediately cleared of staff members and rehearsal was canceled. We've been told that the horse was stuck for hours and almost had to be euthanized due to the extreme stress it had suffered. WWE crew members also had to dismantle the stage so the horse could be freed.

WWE management then made the call that it was not worth the risk and plans were scrapped.

Not a chance. It will simply never happen. He will transform into a face by Summerslam and eventually find his spot at the top of the midcard. I would be surprised if he ever won the title again, nevermind take over from a guy he couldn't possibly cross over into the mainstream or sell as much merchandise as.

They're doing desperate with him. Until a few weeks ago he was getting the snot beat out of him every week. I like the guy but people aren't buying him as champion. He has bombed at it by all accounts. It looks good because he is cutting kick ass promos on TV but most of his segments loose viewers in the quater hour breakdowns - save for the ones with Rock and Cena in them.

Stu

His become the darling of the old guard who want to oust Cena and crown a new face of the company but he is only being held in such high regard because of the dearth of good, young talent who could potentially step up.

The lad wouldn't have got a look in years ago. He's probably be going around the arena garage with a dustbin lid waiting for Crash Holly to show up with his hardcore title.

The bloke is absoloutely harmless looking. White meat, Real World alumni and about as intimidating as a chicken drumstick. Not exactly a perfect fit to carry on the title legacy.

Yes without a doubt, they are teasing his face turn early as well.. Last night on Raw when JR offered his hand he shook it and the week after wrestlemania Cena was saying Miz deserves respect for beating him etc, Champion since November 22nd as well, he has overtook Shawn Michaels on Days he has held the title just in one single Reign the guy is the best thing WWE right now to be honest I'd have gave him the World Heavyweight Championship as well when Edge left last night... Make him the undisputed Champion.

I mean combined days, Shawn Michaels has 3 reigns = 140 days, Miz has just over 140 days now ( Think it was 140 days last night ) Maybe it's a Wiki **** up

No I see where you went wrong now. The 140 days listed for Shawn is just for his Montreal reign that took him into Wrestlemania XIV. He also has, amongst others, a 231 day reign from Wrestlemania XII to Survivor Series 96 when SID beat him for it.

Quite a bit to go yet for The Miz. I believe he would call that a REALITY CHECK .

More crazy Vince from Figure 4's Newsletter :

We noted last week the irony of "Wrestling" being removed from the company name on the weekend of WrestleMania, and in the past we've noted other terms that Vince McMahon finds undesirable. "Belt," for instance, is not allowed. Superstars do not win belts. They win championships. For a while he didn't even want the superstars to wear the championships around their waists, because, well, you wear a belt around your waist and this isn't your father's pro-rasslin where folks wear title belts.

This week we are going to look at a list of banned terms. Every now and then you'll hear "wrestling" uttered on WWE television, at which point some people will say this is proof that there aren't really any set rules about what you can and cannot say, and that perhaps people like Dave Meltzer and I are making this up. As a matter of fact, WWE has an information sheet that they send all over the world to folks who do international voice-overs in other countries, and it includes a list of "Incorrect Terminology," which is further identified as being incorrect via a bright red "X," and an accompanying list of "Correct Terminology," which is accompanied by a happy green check mark. The information sheet, titled, "The Language of WWE," reads in full:

The Language of WWE

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is a publicly traded entertainment company (NYSE: WWE) that creates and delivers a weekly action soap opera to its passionate fans.

WWE has been a recognized leader in entertainment for more than 25 years and has developed into one of the most popular and sophisticated forms of global entertainment today.

As a global entertainment brand, the language that we use when communicating on WWE is critical.

Please ensure that you are familiar and employing the below, effective immediately.

Let's take a look at these terms, shall we?

"Wrestling" or "Catch" is prohibited. Several European countries still use the 19th-century term "catch" to describe the art of pro-wrestling and "catchers" to describe wrestlers. Catch (as in "catch-as-catch-can") was a style of submission-based grappling practiced in Lancashire, England and later brought to the United States by immigrants in the mid-1800s. Many of the terms used up through the '90s, including "collar-and-elbow tie-up," have their roots in catch, and several MMA stars today, perhaps most notably Josh Barnett, claim their submission style is catch wrestling. "The Language of WWE" states that the following phrases are incorrect: "Wrestling is broadcast in 145 countries," or "Catch is broadcast in 145 countries." The correct terminology is: "WWE is broadcast in 145 countries."

"Sports" is incorrect. What is allowed is "Entertainment or Action Soap Opera." "Eg: WWE is exciting entertainment," or "WWE is an exciting action soap opera." It should be noted that "action soap opera" in the above example is also printed in bold, presumably to make sure that there is no confusion.

"Catchers or Wrestlers." Definitely banned. Incorrect examples are "Catchers are unique characters" or "Wrestlers are unique characters." You may only say "WWE Superstars." "Eg: WWE Superstars are unique characters." As is their Chairman.

"Athletes or Sportsmen." Banned. I will admit, I was surprised to learn that "athlete" is a banned term, if only because for years and years I have heard wrestlers and fans say, "It might be fake, but these guys are tremendous athletes." No longer can you say, for example, "WWE Superstars are brilliant athletes," or "WWE Superstars are brilliant sportsmen." Nope. You must call them, and I am not making this up, "Entertainers with tremendous athletic prowess." They even give an example: "WWE Superstars are entertainers with tremendous athletic prowess." What normal person in their right mind would ever utter a sentence such as that?

"Fight." Not allowed. You cannot say, "WWE's first fight of the night." You may say, "Match" or "Bout." "Eg: WWE's first match of the night" or "WWE's first bout of the night."

"Fighting." "The fighting was enthralling" is ixnayed. OK, however, is the term "action." "Eg: The action was enthralling."

The printout concludes with the following three "Key Soundbytes":

* WWE is pure entertainment

* WWE is an action soap opera

* WWE Superstars are entertainers with tremendous athletic prowess

A major tribute to Edge took place after the SmackDown! taping in Albany, NY last night. I was there live and this was simply amazing to watch. Here is my report:

As SmackDown! ended, the entire WWE locker-room came out to the top of the stage as Edge stood in the ring. First, The Big Show came down the ramp and hugged Edge. He was then followed by Chavo Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Christian who was already in the ring. They all hugged him and shook hands. All of them were crying at this point. It should be noted that these were his best friends within WWE.

Triple H’s music then hit and he embraced in a long hug with Edge, at least two minutes without letting go. The other guys continued to hug as well, all crying. The rest of the SmackDown! roster stood on-stage clapping with some tearing up.

As the WWE locker-room headed to the back, Edge began to follow. The WWE locker-room stopped and signaled for him to get back in the ring and soak it up.

Edge then gave a long speech, thanking the crowd, WWE universe, truck drivers, ring crew, creative team, cameraman, announcers, catering. etc etc. He mentioned people by name (Brian (Gerwirtz), Vince, etc)

Edge said he is happy he got to say goodbye in Albany because it’s the place where he won his first championship. In fact it was in a cab in Albany where Edge came up with the nickname Edge.

Edge thanked Kane, saying he’d break kayfabe and would probably take some heat for that. He thanked Christian and Kane as his closest friends in the business and said he loved them to death.

Edge thanked Lita and said they’d had some great times together. He even joked to the fans that they needed to get their minds out of the gutter when it came to Lita “even though we really did do it.”

Edge said he was going home for a vacation and to spend time with his two dogs. The crowd laughed. He was very emotional during this promo.

There was a large “Hall of Fame” chant. He said he hoped to be in there one day and then said “I think I’m done… you’ve probably heard enough”. The crowd wanted more though.

Edge went and hugged his mother and then every single fan at ringside. Awesome way to end SmackDown! although none of this will air.

WWE cameras were filming this so it may end up on WWE.com. Take it from me as I was there live – this was very emotional.

WOW. Can't wait to see that.

Is anyone else concerned about the lack of potential competitors for Undertaker at WM?

The original plan was John Cena but clearly that's not happening. So we're left with Triple H, which is apparently going to happen at SummerSlam.

and since it's his 20th it'll be a big star. Wade Barrett? No, just no.

FORMER WWE Smackdown head writer Dave Lagana has branded WrestleMania 27 a success — but only if you were looking to see an 'entertainment' show, and not a wrestling event.

Coming in the same week as the company officially dropped the word 'wrestling' from their name — becoming simply WWE rather than World Wrestling Entertainment — Lagana granted an exclusive interview to SunSport.

Speaking on Rob McNichol's One Sided Ring Podcast he told us: "For the look, the slickness and the overall presentation, I thought it was a very good entertainment show.

"If you bought the PPV for wrestling, you did not get a lot of that. Vince McMahon's not selling you wrestling any more, people, he's selling you entertainment.

"I thought all the finishes were really good. That's why I give the show a thumbs-up. Certain things didn't feel like Wrestlemania, but all the finishes made sense and they were very creative.

"I thought Cody and Rey was really good. I liked Punk and Orton too. The one thing I didn't like was the really good spot where Randy's knee gave out, as they did it on the Monday before.

"But I thought it was a one-match show, as far as 'WrestleMania-quality' matches, and that was Taker and Triple H.

"I thought the finish of the show was a tad disappointing, especially as you paid $65 to see a Cena-Rock confrontation and to see them go at it, only to find out the next day - for free - that they'll fight a year from now."

As someone who was involved in the creative process for seven Wrestlemanias, Lagana's insight into the construction of this year's show is fascinating.

He says that he thought the event was lacking several ingredients which stopped it being a classic.

Lagana added: "This year's show really missed Money in the Bank and Shawn Michaels. Those two things not being on the show really hurt the overall wrestling quality of WrestleMania.

"Pulling Daniel Bryan from the show hurt too, it just felt that at the end of the day it felt like the matches were all muted. It felt like something you would see at a Smackdown, or even a house show.

"Maybe they wanted to mute everything down so the Taker match would feel bigger, I don't know what the intention was, but the end result was a show that, when you look back, might be the most disappointing WrestleMania since WrestleMania 15.

"This show was definitely not on a par of, say, the last eight Manias."

It's just so needlessly paranoid. I realize WWE want to branch out and expand their market but it's not as if everyone is going to go 'uh I guess it's not wrestling anymore!'.

Vince wants to feed his ego some more before he passes on. Every non wrestling related venture he has tried his hand at has been a dismal faliure and it eats away at him. The easy solution is to unwrestling your wrestling company so it looks like your this big media giant instead of just a very wealthy wrestling promoter.

Several readers have sent in word that Alberto Del Rio and Michelle McCool's profiles have been moved to the Raw roster section of WWE.com. This might be in an indication that the two names will move in tonight's WWE Draft, however that's neither guaranteed nor confirmed.

Night Of Champions has been axed. WWE sent out this survey to fans so expect it will become one of these instead.

-- WWE issued a survey to fans querying their thoughts on the following pay-per-view titles:

* WWE Champions
* WWE Revolution
* WWE Uprising
* WWE Vengeance

Can they just bring back wargames FFS? Fall Brawl 92 had the best main event ever. I don't want TNA-ized meaningless, biblical names. WTF does 'revolution' mean? A Cena/Sheamus rematch?

The official website of WWE apparently has John Cena, Randy Orton and Rey Mysterio earmarked as changing brands during tonight's WWE Draft—in addition to Alberto Del Rio and Beth Phoenix. The website has created pages on the aforementioned WWE Superstars denoted as members of their opposite brand.

John Cena to SmackDown!?
www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/johncena

Randy Orton to SmackDown!?
www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/randyorton

Rey Mysterio to RAW!?
www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/reymysterio

Alberto Del Rio to RAW!?
www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/albertodelrio

Beth Phoenix to Raw!?
www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/bethphoenix

The pages are legitimate because an error page would otherwise be displayed. For instance, an error page is displayed for Melina on SmackDown! and JTG on RAW.

Regarding Cena possibly joining the SmackDown! brand, it's worth noting that he is advertised to appear at tomorrow night's SmackDown! taping at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. I have a hard time believing they'd take BOTH Orton and Cena off their flagship show though. It's possible they'll appear on both brands. We'll see soon enough!

Please note that these are all RUMORS now and are NOT confirmed by any means!

Tonight's WWE Draft is expected to be similar to past years where there will be RAW vs. SmackDown! matches with the winning brand getting a "random draft pick". There will be a battle royal featuring undercard talents. The winning talent will receive several draft picks for their brand.

The scripts being given out at RAW today in Raleigh, North Carolina do not contain the names of talents who will be drafted. This is WWE's way of trying to keep things secret.

There were also plans last week to put the World Title on Christian at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view. This makes sense with Del Rio likely coming to RAW.

Of course, nothing is official until it actually happens.

Come Celebrate The Rock's Birthday

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, The Most Electrifying Man In All of Entertainment, finally returns to his hometown of Miami. One week from tonight on May 2, The Rock will celebrate his birthday with celebrities, thousands of WWE fans and all of WWE's Superstars and Divas at the American Airlines Arena for "Monday Night Raw."

WWE promises this will be the most raucous, entertaining and electrifying birthday celebration in history of Miami. And what is a birthday without a few special surprises? WWE Divas promise to give The Rock a birthday present he will never forget. Will The Miz spoil the celebration and blow out the Rock's candles? Who will pop out of the cake? Who will sing "Happy Birthday"? Will John Cena give The Rock a present, if so what could it be?

As noted before, WWE is keeping things as quiet as possible regarding tonight's draft moves. As of last night, the decision of who becomes SmackDown!'s top babyface (replacing Edge) had not been decided upon.

There had been discussions about moving The Undertaker to RAW to make up for whichever babyface main eventer moves to SmackDown!.

It should also be noted that Vince McMahon wants to decide on the top matches for SummerSlam right now and that is holding things up as they decide what talent goes where.

-- John Cena was drafted to SmackDown! with the first overall pick in the 2011 WWE Draft only to end up drafted back to RAW with the final draft pick of the night. Through Sunday night, there was discussion of permanently moving Cena to SmackDown! with the belief that Randy Orton was a hot enough babyface to carry RAW on his own. Ultimately though, Orton was moved to SmackDown! with Cena staying on RAW.

The Undertaker traveled with wife Michelle McCool to this week's Monday Night RAW taping in Raleigh, North Carolina, but was not used.

Company sources say he's still got nagging injuries and were given no indication as to when he would be returning to television.

Also note that the reason he was not drafted earlier this week is simply because he's not ready to return and will be coming to RAW anyways once he's ready.

The return of Dwayne Johnson and the decision to use Jersey Shore star Snooki paid off big-time for WWE as Variety is reporting that the company's flagship PPV scored one million buys.

Final numbers are not yet in, but the trade publication noted that buys are up 30% in North America and up to 15% overseas, according to the company.

Wrestlemania 26, featuring Shawn Michaels' retirement, generated 885,000 orders.

Wrestlemania 25, headlined by Randy Orton vs. Triple H and the first Undertaker vs. Michaels classic, scored 960,000 buys.

The Variety piece also credited WWE's marketing leading into the PPV as a factor, as the company smartly had their performers all over different television show for appearances, ranging from talk shows to the "Cake Boss" reality show.

Here's hoping man. On one hand I doubt the credibility of the story because going back to blood and guts and Val Venis getting his knob chopped off wouldn't fit with the new 'manistream' entertainment company business outlook but then again the business is cyclic. It always runs on cycles apart from the sort of lost but good 2003-2008 period.
