An Indiana man has filed a lawsuit against World Wrestling Entertainment, specifically naming former wrestler Dwayne Johnson, known as “The Rock,” and wrestler Paul Levesque, known as “Triple H,” claiming he suffered injuries at a wrestling event in Louisville more than a decade ago when he was 7 years old.

An attorney for Ronald Basham III, who now is 18, filed the suit in Jefferson Circuit Court on Monday alleging Basham's right leg and knee were injured at the May 21, 2000, professional wrestling match billed as “Judgment Day.”

Basham, of Clarksville, Ind., claims he was taken to the event at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center by his mother and sat near the ring. At one point, according to the lawsuit, Levesque and Johnson left the ring, went over a retaining wall separating them from the audience and continued wrestling near where Basham was located.

As the wrestlers pushed and shoved each other, one collided with an audience member, then shoved that person into the audience toward Basham. The lawsuit alleges that Johnson then pushed that same spectator again into a woman, causing her to fall on Basham, causing his injuries.

The lawsuit accuses the WWE of failing to properly stage the match and provide adequate security for its customers. Both Johnson and Levesque are accused of “reckless, willful and wanton conduct.”

Basham is seeking a jury trial and compensatory and punitive damages.

Harris Berman, an attorney for Basham, said that because of Basham's age at the time of the injury, the lawsuit is not prohibited by the statute of limitations. Basham has been to various doctors over the years concerning his leg and recently had surgery, spurring him to file the lawsuit, Berman said.

Claims made in filing a lawsuit present only one side of the case.

Justine Sacco, a spokeswoman for WWE, said “we take all these matters very seriously but as a policy don't comment on pending litigation.”

She said Levesque, who is still with WWE, also would have no comment.

Johnson, who is no longer associated with WWE, could not be reached for comment. An e-mail to his publicist was not immediately returned, nor was a call to his foundation.

I have come to the conclusion recently that whilst WWE almost always has something bad going on, it's always very watchable, IMO. PG this, PG that. It's what I grew up with and at the end of the day I'm a complete mark for it.

PG, it should be pointed out, is not an excuse nor a reason for bad writting. The only things you can't really do are blood and storylines of a highly sexual nature. Everything else is fair game. I hate all these comments on YT about WWE being gay because of 'pg'.

Nexus have massively grown on me, Cole is just a genius character, Alberto and Dashing Cody Rhodes are two ludicrously brilliant gimmicks, the old stalwarts are bowing out one by one, Punk and Orton are better than ever and are true superstars ... plenty of positives.

According to an article by The Courier Journal out of Louisville, Kentucky, a man, age 18, is suing World Wrestling Entertainment, Triple H and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson for an injury he allegedly suffered in 2000. As noted before, Rey Mysterio has been pulled from this weekend's WWE live events and will be replaced by Big Show in matches against Alberto Del Rio. This is part of John Laurinaitis agreeing to give Mysterio an even easier schedule while he's working around the shoulder tear. Rey will continue to work all TV tapings and pay-per-view events but will be working limited live event dates for the time being.

- There's still no word yet on the severity of John Cena's hip injury or if he will return to ring action next week but with WWE officials really wanting him healthy enough to perform in the Royal Rumble match, it's likely he will be kept off live events until then. If he's healthy enough until then, Cena may work some TV matches.

Last night's Genesis PPV — shown on TNAondemand.com as the company iron out a new UK TV deal — had it all in terms of action and storyline development.

Hardy, sporting a new look, made his company debut on the show and shocked Rob Van Dam by being named Eric Bischoff's chosen opponent for him.

Matt controversially won the bout after a Twist Of Hate, even though RVD's leg seemed to be under the ropes for the three-count.

But the good guys got their revenge over the Hardyz, Bischoff and their Immortal group later in the show.

In the main event of the night Mr Anderson won a No1 contenders match against Matt Morgan and then wrenched heavyweight crown away from Jeff Hardy.

Bischoff set up the bout after Anderson had endured a gruelling brawl with Morgan, in order to try and ensure a fresh Jeff won.

But his plan backfired as the short match — which saw run-ins from Mick Foley, Ric Flair, Matt Hardy, RVD and Eric himself — was won in breathtaking style by Ken.

Immortal and Fortune fared well in title matches as Kazarian brought the X Division strap back to the fold. Meanwhile Beer Money Inc snagged the TNA Tag Team gold once again — toppling The Motor City Machine Guns — and Abyss claimed the TV Title from Douglas Williams, with a little help from an injured AJ Styles.

Genesis was a superb opener to TNA's 2011 campaign to nip at the WWE's heels and long may it continue...especially with a Tour just around the corner.

Watched Raw last night and ...

I thought it was a fantastic show, despite the crowd picking and choosing when to be interested. I felt during the King/Cole showdown bit that they teased the GM reveal very heavily. I was sure King was going to take the laptop from Cole, get on the mic and inform us all that Michael Cole is the Raw GM. I'm not sure what to make of the new Nexus. Personally I like the cultish stuff Punk is doing in the role but Wade shone in that role too and I miss him in it already. The flogging of whatshisname was pretty cringy stuff though. Not only did it seem to me like a bit of a light initiation comapred to the others but he made constant, eerily porn like groaning sounds with each successive whip. I have roomates. Christ.

Jeff Hardy spoke to TMZ yesterday about his ongoing drug trial. You can check out video by clicking here.

TMZ notes that cops found 262 Vicodin pills, 180 Somas and 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, as well as a residual amount of powder cocaine, in Hardy's home in North Carolina.

Hardy said he is going to plead guilty to a lesser charge as part of a deal to get a lighter sentence, saying, "I'll make the best of it, bro."

Hardy is due in court on January 20th. He said, "It's been a long while ... but it should get to an end soon."

For what it's worth, there is a real possibility that Hardy will serve a limited jail sentence. North Carolina drug laws are very strict. We'll see what happens on January 20th but there is a reason why TNA got the title off him ASAP. As I noted earlier, anyone with half a brain should have seen that one coming. There will also be a ton of media articles in the coming weeks and TNA obviously doesn't want those articles referring to their "World Champion" as a drug addict.

I love that little microperiod of history between the old WWF and the Attitude Era. The more you look into it I reckon the main reason behind the screwjob and Vince telling Hart go back and do a deal with WCW is he simply wanted Hart out of the way so him and Vince Russo could kick the Attitude Era into full swing. Bret was the roadblock to what was, in conception, happening since King Of The Ring 96. After Survivor Series the company was completely transformed within 2-3 months.

Rick Morris, host of The FDH Lounge on SportsTalkNetwork.com, confirmed on Twitter yesterday morning that Bob Barker of Price is Right fame will be at WrestleMania 27 in Atlanta, Georgia this year.

Barker hosted RAW back in December of 2009 and was one of the most well-received hosts WWE had. Barker won a Slammy Award for Best RAW Host.

Also Providing that The Undertaker is healthy enough to compete in a singles match at WrestleMania XXVII, there has been talk of "The Deadman" facing his opponent at WrestleMania X-Seven, Triple H.

Shawn Michaels as the bout's special guest referee has also been discussed. He recently stated that he reached a new contractual agreement with WWE, but would not be returning the ring as a wrestler. He did not, however, rule out special appearances or becoming an on-air character at some point .

Booker T and Kevin Nash are both booked for the Royal Rumble as surprises, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
As I noted yesterday, I suspected Booker was scheduled based on recent discussions with the company and based on Booker being pulled from his scheduled appearance at the New Orleans Comic Con. Company sources confirmed this morning he is in the Rumble.

WWE sources have also confirmed that Kevin Nash is booked for the Rumble and is scheduled to fly into Boston later today. Nash, who was in discussions with TNA as late as yesterday to finally finalize his deal to return to the company, will instead make his first appearance in a WWE ring in years.

TNA sources confirmed they ended their discussions with Nash within the last several days. The two sides had been going back and forth on signing a new deal in recent months and at one point, sources indicated that a new deal was done. That led to Nash accusing TNA's office of leaking the information, which led to new rounds of negotiations. Nash admitted in a recent interview he was negotiating with TNA. Those discussions ended sometime within the last 24-48 hours. Nash has been pulled off the TNA website's roster.
