I think Burnley at end of july
2 games been put back too rochdale 28th sept instead of 27th and lincon friday night 12th december i think but its away
Ours is July 15th against Gillingham. Not long now :cheer2:
BigSister
26-06-2008, 12:58 PM
ooh not long at all
We might get something before that but thats the nearest so far
Yay, Spain make the final. In truth they made the Russian's look a very ordinary team, just as they did in the group stage.I'll never understand why Fabregas has only been a sub in most games, he seems to have such a positive impact everytime that he comes on.I think he should play instead of Iniesta in the final.
Grays midfielder Ernie Cooksey has died at the age of 28.He's been suffering with cancer the past few months and was too ill to make it to America for treatmant. His wife is only a month away from giving birth.RIP Ernie.

We drew 2-2 with Chelsea, obviously wasn't there first team they had a pretty young team out, our goalscorers were Hudson and Morgan.

I support Manchester United!!!!! :cheer:
I got back from Spain today to find my housemate has bought me a ticket for Oxford United vs Manchester United, pre season warmup next Sunday
I don't expect to see Man U's full side, but will be good to see some of the players, and I guess Fergie will be there.
C'mon Oxford!
All depends on if Man United are on one of their pre-season tours abroad,if they're not then you will probably get to see a fair few first teamers.
Lost 3-1 to QPR this afternoon.Iyseden Christie scored with a poweful header after a really good cross from Mitchell Cole. The three goals we conceded could have been kept out if we didn't have some grandad in goal, which was Carl Muggleton, Bayes must have been injured.
Team was:
Muggleton
Anaclet(Wilson),Henry,Oliver(Albrighton),Laird
Cole(Drury),Mills(Bridges),Martin,McMahon(Westcarr )
Morison(Christie),Thomas(Boylan)
I'm off to watch Manchester United vs Oxford United tomorrow (sat 26th).
Pre season warmup at Kassam Stadium.
Let's go Oxford!
Emzy-!!
25-07-2008, 11:29 PM

5 days to go till football is back
Although im gonna kill that guy from soccer saturday if he keeps slagging Accrington off:mad:
What's he been saying about Accy?
How's your squad looking at the moment?
BigSister
04-08-2008, 07:59 PM
nothing at the moment but everytime last season he kept slagging us off at every moment
Oh erm okish we got that jimmy ryan but apart from the 2 we got at end of last season nobody else but we have a record of getting people at end of transfer window
Seems quite a few teams are waiting a bit longer to sign players this year, doesn't really give you a good start to the season though.

How did you guys feel when watching euro 2008 with no england team there? I was peeeed of that our over paid spice boys dont give a toss! I feel england play better with a fast attacking game... Non of that get a goal and lets sit back BS that we tend to do alot... But with the players having already huge wages, houses, cars, WAGS!!! will they ever put in 100% when wearing the england shirt?
It felt strange not having a team to support at a major tournament but I did enjoy watching it nonetheless.I suppose one thing it showed was we were in a stronger group that people ever realised.Russia and Croatia showed they were good teams after beating Holland and Germany respectively.
The England team have been a sham for a while now.I just don't see the effort required from some players. They get too comfy with their place in the team and that just leads to them being complacent.Hopefully Capello wont stand for it and turn things around by the time of the next world cup.
andyman
04-08-2008, 09:19 PM
If england do get to the world cup then all wags should stay at home... It does feel like a wasted generation with rio, gerard, becks, lil ginger, rooney etc and with them players we still have nothing! I remember in 2002 it was said that we have a golden generation... On payers its a winning team, but we dont have a team that play like a team but a team of egos. Capello has to have the balls to take england forward... Even if that means dropping big names.
BigSister
04-08-2008, 09:47 PM
I know what you are saying Dan but maybe we will sign some this week or wait till the friendlies are over then sign players then
I'd imagine you'll make a decision on any trialists with you by this week.Perhaps get some loan players in also before the deadline. How big's your squad right now?

maybe theres more there has to be surely
Yeah theres 20 plus more to come
That's not too bad. With Luton on -30 points it's going to take some effort for them to avoid relegation, so that's pretty one relegation place almost solved already.

All in the same division too, that's got to be a first.I think Bournemouth are getting over 10 points deducted. It's sure going to make things tough for those three sides.Luton are going to have to have promotion winning form just avoid relegation.

Yeah, he was with Shrews last season but strangely didn't play all that many games.I know one of their fans who praised him a lot and was puzzled as to why he was released.Oh well, their loss could be your gain.
I really hope Swansea City (come on you boys) do good in the Championship.

Bournemouth have also been deducted 17 points.

think bourmouth might be ok they just got relegated so will have some backing rotherham and luton might be in trouble though esp luton
I've had a look at Rotherham's squad and it looks pretty decent. The same cannot be said for Luton and Bournemouth are short on numbers.

yeah i saw that quite surprising
as long as we dont play them again im quite happy their supporters chased our supporters once down a back alley its full of chavs Stevenage have to beat them when you play them
I was surprised by that result too.I saw some of the first half and it looked quite an equal game but Barrow had more of the chances, then Oxford had a player sent off.

News from Burnley vs Ipswich...
"1514: Remarkable story coming in from Burnley... the game against Ipswich has been delayed after a parachutist got stuck on the roof. The unfortunate fella was one of seven scheduled to land inside the ground but he misjudged his landing."
"1540: More comedy capers at Turf Moor. The fire engine to remove the stranded parachutist on top of the roof has arrived, but a car is blocking its progress so an announcement has been made. Burnley v Ipswich yet to kick off."
"1556: The game between Burnley and Ipswich will kick off at 1600 BST. The parachutist is still stuck on the roof, but they're going to press on regardless. Does that mean he's got a free ticket?"

I thought he was a hopeless manager to be honest. When he took over we were in contention for the title and we ended up not even making the play-offs.I understand that we sold off a few of our top players but most of the replacements were dire, he seemed to have no concept on what it took to do well in this league. The less said about his 'tactics' the better.

One of the craziest games in a while. Liverpool started off strong and had a few early chances. We slowed down at half time and Middlesburgh managed to get a goal. Play was slow and with 6 minutes to go, Liverpool managed to snatch a goal back. Then in the 94th minute, Stephen Gerrad puts away the winner, meaning Liverpool win 2-1!

there a realy good side i wouldnt want to meet them every week,
hats off to them.
Wohoo first win of the season for Stevenage, just beat Barrow 3-1.Went behind after about 10 minutes when Barrow got given a soft penalty. We then got back into the game after about 30 minutes into the game, good cross from McMahon found Vincenti who headed square for Willock to nod past the Barrow keeper.Scott Laird then put us ahead on the stroke of half time after a mazy run and thunderous shot, we finally rapped up the game after Lawrie Wilson was left with an empty net after a comedic mistake from the Barrow goalie.
Derby County are loosing 2 - 0 to Barnsley, they'll be a the bottom of the table

Doubt he will be leaving Liverpool now Gerrard's injured and they've seemingly given up on trying to sign Gareth Barry.
I cannot believe Arsenal still haven't signed a replacement for Flamini though.

Despite the loss you've still started the season pretty well, you must be pretty optimistic of doing better than last season.

Technically I suppose Nasri was meant to replace him, but he's had to replace the injured Fabregas too.

I think Nasri's better suited to playing on the wing, probably Wenger had him in mind to replace Hleb but he's had to do a job in central midfield too.It really is vital that Arsenal sign someone else though, it needs to be a holding player to help get the best out of Fabregas though.De Guzman from Feyenoord would be ideal.

That clubs a joke, they have at least one new manager every season.I didn't think Keegan was doing a bad job there but obviously something has gone on behind the scenes to cause his departure.

Article on BBC Sport about Keegan:
Manager Kevin Keegan has left Newcastle United after only eight months in charge, BBC Radio 5 Live understands.
The 57-year-old held talks with the club's board on Tuesday morning amid reports he was unhappy with a lack of control over transfer activity.
Newcastle's only business on transfer deadline day was a £5.7m swoop for Spanish striker Xisco and the loan signing of midfielder Ignacio Gonzalez.
The ex-England boss rejoined the club in January for a second spell as boss.
Newcastle are 11th in the Premier League having picked up just four points from their opening three games.
More soon.
---------------------------------------
4 points from 3 games isn't that bad, especially for Newcastle..
Keegan strangely still at Newcastle, cannot see him staying much longer though after all this saga.
Alan Curbishley has beaten him to be the first premier league manager to leave though. He quit this afternoon with the reason being the club selling off players against his wish.

Keegan quits as Newcastle manager, what a sad state of affairs. That club needs a bit of stability but instead they're onto looking for another new manager.
