Oh ok, i'm not really too suprised you won.

Gravesend are a pretty boring team to be honest, not poor enough to get relegated but not good enough for promotion.

Yeah we beat Gravesend at home we have yet to play them away im an Aldershot Town fan aswell as Man Utd

Dan_

I did too, Brentford and Oldham are in the same league so it's hardly an attractive game. Oldham have already been on once this season in the cup.

BigSister

Jay

Who will Stevenage get if they win tonight?

Z
13-12-2005, 05:35 PM
Aghhhh, I can't believe Aberdeen! One minute we're up there, chasing Europe, then we're upper mid table, now we're lower mid table! We won't get relegated, but I swear that it'll be impossible to do much if we're drawing with Dunfermline!

Jay
13-12-2005, 05:38 PM
how many points are aberdeen off the europe places?

Z
13-12-2005, 05:45 PM
Far too many.. 12 points though.

So terrible, we were supposed to take maximum points from Dunfy game and the up and coming one against Livi. It would have been so good to get back to back wins and push ourselves up the table!

Jay
13-12-2005, 06:29 PM
still got a long way to go yet Ziola so they could push up the table

Yeah i'm a Gills supporter mate been going for 15 years now, proud of it as well.

To be honest we were not strong enough for the championship and it was hard to take watching us lose week in week out, this season we havent been great but last couple of games we have had two brilliant results.

Dan_
13-12-2005, 10:20 PM

I watched it. It was strange watching a live match at that time in the morning, and the atmosphere in the stadium was muted, to say the least. It was a walk in the park though, and we rarely needed to go beyond first gear. The final will be a tougher game, though. But it would be nice to add that last remaining piece of silverware to the biggest collection in England, whether it's seen as a Mickey Mouse trophy or not. Did you see the clips of their goalie? Very strange choice for set pieces!

And it's the Champions' League draw later today, too. We could face any of the following:

Bayern Munich
Ajax
Werder Bremen
Benfica
PSV Eindhoven
Real Madrid
Rangers

I don't think that we have anything to fear with any of those teams, but it would be a shame if we got a weak side like Werder Bremen or Rangers. I want a little more excitement in return for my £30 come the second leg at Anfield. :spin: Benfica shouldn't be too much of a problem either, but it would be nice to show manure how it should be done. But there are few finer sights in football than watching Beckham thoroughly humiliated only yards away from you. Not since March 2003 have I had that glorious treat to behold. The atmosphere at Anfield would be electric if we were playing Real Madrid.

I'd love to see Chelsea draw Barcelona, too. Barca would tear them apart.

Jay

I think the two hardest games Liverpool can get is Real Madrid or Bayern Munich and im sure the atmosphere would be great if Rangers went to Anfield

CharlotteSometimes
16-12-2005, 09:21 AM
Real Madrid are a mess right now, so they're not the risk they once were. Their form in the coming months will depend a lot on their managerial situation. And PSV would worry me more than Bayern. The atmosphere will be great whichever team we draw, unless we go into the tie having already (as good as) won it in the away leg. But Rangers aren't a mouth-watering proposition at all. They'll bring more supporters along than most of the others could muster, but the atmosphere in the ground would be similar to playing Tranmere Rovers in the FA Cup.

Chelski vs. Barcelona
Real Madrid vs. Arsenal
Werder Bremen vs. Juventus
Bayern Munich vs. AC Milan
PSV Eindhoven vs. Lyon
Ajax vs. Inter Milan
Benfica vs. Liverpool
Rangers vs. Villarreal

It was very odd, I had just got out of bed and went straight into watching a live game. That Saprissa only had about 2 good players and the keeper was a clown. Good to see Crouch scoring again and Josemi actually played well and Cisse was not selfish and played one of his better games as a result. Plus the defence now have a new record for clean sheets. Sao Paulo will be a tougher test but I can see us winning it by the odd goal and another trophy, that will be everything now!

I'm pretty pleased with our champions league draw, will be a bit odd if Simao's playing for them after coming so close to joining us, we may even sign him before the game's.

Tough draw for Arsenal and Chelsea, but both should be good games to watch. The last 8 will be-Arsenal, Barcelona, Liverpool, Villareal, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Lyon.

Crouch 2 again eh!?! :spin:And wat a great strike by Gerrard!!

I will have to buy a scanner then i scan all me pics with footie players! Well with 3 lol. Jamie Carragher, Stevie Gerrard and Robie Fowler (quite a few years back)

Sorry Jamie - I know that everyone's opinion is equally valid, and girls aren't supposed to understand football - but those are pretty strange predictions! Rangers maybe, at a push. But I've got to disagree with you as far as AC Milan & Inter Milan are concerned.

Fernzy, I agree with your predictions, except maybe Arsenal. Playing the second leg at home may be the slight advantage that swings it for them, though. The Chelski vs. Barcelona match should be pretty close, but Chelski can't score at the moment, and Essien won't be available as he'll be serving his much deserved two match ban.

James

Villareal was probably the best possible draw for us, not that it will be easy though.

i feel less annoyed now because when the pitch was "frozen" at Home Park, it was playable i reckon and some official called the game off, i thought to myself if we were playing at Preston then we would have played, but seems like it was frozen up there too so either way we wouldnt have been able to play, good

We have already played Halifax, they are quite a good side but we beat them 1-0. They might be selling a couple of their best players though. Exeter and Grays are out of form. Canvey play better against the top teams.

We have Altrincham next, hoping for the same score as earlier in the season-3-0.

Some of Graham Polls decisions was poor like Rooney's booking another poor decision because it was an accidental collision with Reyes

MARK PHILO DIES IN CAR ACCIDENT

Mark Philo - had been with Wycombe Wanderers since he was 15

It is with great sadness that the club announce the death of Mark Philo on Saturday 14th January 2006.

In the early hours of the morning Mark was involved in a fatal car accident in the Reading area. Although he was taken to the Royal Berkshire hospital he was unable to recover from the injuries he had sustained and his life support machine was turned off at 4.20pm.

Wycombe Wanderers would like to take this opportunity to express their deepest sympathies to Mark's family, his friends and those who were fortunate enough to meet him.

An exciting prospect in the game at just 21 years of age, Mark will be sorely missed.

Sad news.

But the result of the day for me was Man City 3 - manure 'nited 1! :bouncy: Ronaldo's red card would've been the afternoon's highlight, were it not for GOD's goal which completed the humiliation, and the glorious 5-fingered salute to the glory seekers that support the nearly men which followed. :spin:

We have two footie threads? Talk about confuse me :joker:

Anyway, what I posted on other thread.

When I was a kid, all my friends supported Millwall or Charlton. I loved football, but having come from another country when very young, had no allegiance with any English club.

Anyway, I fell quite ill and had to go to hospital. Boro were in town a few days later, at Millwall. My school wrote to Millwall, asking them if they could send a player or two down to come and visit me. They never did, but some people who went to the game asked someone from Middlesbrough if they would come and see me, as I have always been a huge football fan. They apparently said they would try and send someone along, but no-one expected them too.

About 7.30pm that night, in came some Middlesbrough players and the coaches etc and spoke to me about football for between 30 minutes and an hour, leaving me some goodies whilst they were there (pendants, signed pictures, programmes and they all signed a shirt) all of which I still have.

Been a fan ever since, about 18/19 years.

So yesterday was a bit of a bad defeat, albeit with only 3 of what I would call the first choice XI playing.

As long as Newcastle and Sunderland lose that takes away some of the 'pain'

Ideally, Manchester United and Arsenal would be challenging Chelsea, rather than the bindippers, who are so dull

I still look out for Millwall results, but with a tint of 'if only'

Good luck to Wigan and Chelsea today. I think it's great that Wigan are doing so well!

Spurs are a pretty decent side, they did not create too much though. I've always thought Keane was a good player but the only Spurs striker I could see us going for is Defoe.

Great result for City yesterday and great to see Fowler score angainst Manure and give the 5-fingered salute, classic!I really think we're going to come 2nd this season now, only a point behind them with 2 games in hand. Just need a right winger though.

I think their valuation would be more than we'd be prepared to pay, though.

Yeah, it would be nice to start the season fresh, with no Champions' League qualifiers to worry about. I'd like another striker on board, but it wouldn't surprise me if they're waiting to see how the Owen situation pans out. He'll not want to hang around at Newcastle for another season without European football, and as long as he recovers in time he'll realise his World Cup ambition, which was the only reason he signed for them in the first place.

Yes, Defoe would proably be too much than what we have currently.

I will wait until the summer before deciding on whether we need another striker, see how the current one's get on first. We all know that the reason that Owen went to Newcastle was for the money and well to get out of Madrid to. I heard a rumour that Owen has a get out clasuse in contract that if Newcastle fail to get into Europe he can leave for a certain amount.

Chelsea are reported to be lining up a £15million swoop for Simao Sabrosa after Liverpool failed to match Benfica's valuation of the winger.

The Reds had been favourites to land the 26-year-old but, after the Reds refused to pay Benfica's asking price, Chelsea are now in line to wrap up a deal.

Sources in Portugal claim Jose Mourinho will meet the £15million asking price to sign the player and will then loan him back to Benfica for the rest of the season. Any move for Simao would cast further doubt over the future of Arjen Robben who is again being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

A source close to Benfica revealed: "Benfica's asking price for Sabrosa has always been around the £15million mark. They will not budge on that figure but Liverpool have been unwilling to meet it. But now Chelsea have entered the race the whole situation has changed and Benfica are ready to do a deal with them."

The on/off takeover of my club Aston Villa is supposed to be resolved within the next 72 hours.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed it goes through, and i've had a mate tell me that fees have been agreed, just small details have to be ironed out in the next couple of days. Which is great news for Adton Villa!

Maybe we can finally start to bring back the glory years. Albeit winning a league cup or something.

We need european/ champions league football because the atmosphere at Villa Park has died in the last couple of years and th eonly way of getting the voice back is through progressing in the big trophies!

Hurry up Deadly Doug!

I would talk about my main team back home, but this seems to be a British team thread.

Although it is a British website

And anyway, we are not very good :nono:

Nothing is agreed yet, but Arsenal want him too.

I hope not though, we've just lost Huntelaar to Ajax for 9 million Euros, and I think the reports say 7 million Euros for Samaras.

He'll do well in England, he's only 20. It will leave us with 16 million Euros, which is alot for any team in Holland, even the big three would like that, but I cannot see us buying anyone who could make the same impact as those two.

Don't Heerenveen play in blue and white striped shirts with red hearts on them?

Stevenage beat Tring 5-0 last night in the Herts Senior Cup , we had 4/5 youth teamers out, gawd knows how many the 1st team would have scored.Few piccies from the game:
