Tywin was at the top of his game in the episode great stuff. No Littlefinger, but still a very good opening.
Ayra is the only somewhat likable Stark besides the great Sansa of course

I think that was more the words he used, than his accent, calling them "the free folk" rather than wildlings

I'm not too sure, they changed his storyline a lot last season, in the books Melisandre doesn't go and see him and he never goes to Dragonstone to see Stannis. If they follow the books from this point then (pretty small spoiler)
Brienne will cross paths with him at some point towards the end of the season

I read somewhere that the last scene of the series is CGI heavy so I figure it has something to do with dragons, I don't think they will introduce above until season 5 episode 1 but I do hope it is the last scene for this season, would be great
Smithy
08-04-2014, 01:00 AM
I hope that it's
Dany trying to catch them and dragon escaping
Because i can't think of any "big" other moments that revolve around them in the story, even then, that'd be a bit of a flat ending to the season
It has got to be at the Wall, they've bloody ended with her 2 out of the 3 seasons
Smithy
08-04-2014, 01:04 AM
They know how it ends, they're probably hinting about how the whole series ends :idc:
But if it's at the wall it could be
The gates being opened and everyone coming through, that'd probably rely heavily on CGI
Locke.
08-04-2014, 01:16 AM
They can piss off if they center it around Dany and the dragons again.
It has got to be
Stoneheart. Or Lysa admitting to being the catalyst of everything that started the game of thrones and then trying to throw Sansa out the moon door... Before Littlefinger tosses her out himself
Roy Mars III
08-04-2014, 01:41 AM
They better give Littlefinger the proper credit with Lysa and the letter. They already left out how Littlefinger was the one who convinced Joffery to kill Ned instead of just sending him to the night's watch
this whole thing is basically Littlefinger's doing

Also, just watched the inside the episode video, they say that Needle is one of two remaining Stark swords.... what is the other? Jon has Jeor Mormont's valyrian steel sword, Sansa/Bran/Rickon have none, Ice was melted down to create the two new Lannister swords, Robb's was just a regular sword because the Lannisters were in possession of Ice... HBO RENEWS GAME OF THRONES FOR FIFTH AND SIXTH SEASONS
Season Four Debut Scores Highest Viewership Yet
LOS ANGELES, April 8, 2014 – HBO has renewed GAME OF THRONES for a fifth and sixth season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming.
“GAME OF THRONES is a phenomenon like no other,” noted Lombardo. “David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, along with their talented collaborators, continue to surpass themselves, and we look forward to more of their dazzling storytelling.”
Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, GAME OF THRONES is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal. The Emmy®- and Golden Globe-winning series launched its ten-episode fourth season Sunday, April 6 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, with other episodes debuting subsequent Sundays at the same time.
Among the early critical praise for the fourth season, the Los Angeles Times called GAME OF THRONES “the Best Television Show Ever,” adding that “no other series comes close,” and “television just doesn’t get any better than this,” while Newsday hailed the series as “still TV’s best,” awarding the show an A+. The Hollywood Reporterobserved, “The consistency of excellence in GAME OF THRONES is truly something to behold,” and the San Francisco Chronicle described it as “great and addictive.”
The season four premiere of GAME OF THRONES on Sunday, April 6 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT) was watched by an average of 6.6 million viewers, making it HBO’s most-watched program since the finale of “The Sopranos” in 2007 (11.9 million viewers). The premiere improved 52% over last season’s premiere and 23% over last season’s finale. GAME OF THRONES added an additional 1.6 million viewers from the 11:00 p.m. and1:00 a.m. replays, for a gross audience of 8.2 million viewers for the night. Season three of the series had an average gross audience of 14.4 million viewers per episode.

I am late but i have finally begun watching it, am half way through season 1 and i'm enjoying it much more than i thought i would.. there is only one real hero so far, The bastard Jon snow >>>

Daenerys is great so far, i don't know if this is just because shes hot or not, I'm glad they killed off her stupid brother in the episode i've just watched, he was standing in her way. The dwarf is probably my 3rd favourite, he's amazing. Some of the one liners in this series are great.. When the cripple got caught alone on his horse by those troll type people "ahh cut his little cock off and stuff it in his mouth" & that elf looking bint who got bitten by the dog "I'll gut you, you little ****" to that little girl.. 5* lines.

Amazing episode
All the Ramsay scenes were amazing and done so well, the conversation with him, Theon and Roose when he told Theon Robb was dead was a great scene, good to see the Leeches doing the work for Stannis once again as well, Joffrey's dead face was amazing, it looked so realistic

from the trailer I don't know if she is on it. It sounds like she is just being informed of it then. I dont recall if she knew about it in the books, we only really get Littlefinger telling of the story and he never said. Those Tyrell women are the GOAT though so maybe

Episode 3 thoughts:
-They are finally getting the Wildlings right. Last season they just portrayed them as very similar to all other people, now we're finally starting to see that they are a lot worse.
-Pedro Pascal is doing an amazing job as Oberyn. I didn't like the casting when it first got announced but he's been the perfect guy for the role. The best character this season.
-Davos/Shireen >>>> all other duos on the show
-Felt a bit weird having Tywin refer to Robert as 'King Robert' when he was talking to Tommen.. should have been 'Your father', really. The kids don't know that they are Jaime's.
- Rape scene was completely unnecessary. I don't know why they've added it at all and tbh it has destroyed every bit of character development that Jaime has gone through since the first season. Probably the biggest mistake the show has ever made.
-Sansa >>>>> your favourite (unless it's Robb)

Finally watched the first 3 s4 eps, suppose it was for the best for them to kill off Joffrey seeing as it didn't look like his character was ever gonna mature or develop, will be good seeing how the Lannister's operate now they can properly take control and manipulate things with the kid on the throne
Don't get the love for Sansa on here mind, an incredibly boring character. Think she has been in a strop the whole of the last four seasons, never engages in a conversation of more than a few words, just sits there looking moody.

Ok, don't even get me started
The conquering and uprising was boring as ****, in the books it was done as a flashback, they could have quite easily had a massive battle which could have stretched 2 episodes AT LEAST and lord knows they need to do that because Daenerys' storyline turns to **** for the rest of the season so don't act like that was something exciting, because it wasn't
The revelation about her killing jofferey was done well but because i've read the books it wasn't a surprise :xyxwave:
Valryian steel is irrelevant, if you get excited by that you might want to get yourself checked out
They've deviated massively regarding Jon and Brans storylines which is unnecessary, so no in my opinion it was a boring episode considering what could have gone into it
----
The “Oathkeeper” episode delivered an all-time high of 6.9 million viewers.
That edges out the show’s previous best set earlier this season. Across three plays, Thrones totaled 8.4 million viewers. :o
ratings just keep going up and up, wouldn't be surprised if they hit 7.5 million (perhaps even 8) for the season finale

Yeah was hardly like a major dramatic conquering, it was just Grey Worm dumping a few bags of sword down, one guy getting killed, then next thing you know she's in control of the city
It was an alright episode though not amazing, least the stuff in the north is finally getting somewhere
Locke.

Thought that was a brilliant episode, best of the season so far.
Surprised they've put Locke in the Night's Watch, not sure what the end game there could possibly be? And the Bran storyline is probably the most important in the entire show, just not the most action packed. Massive change from the books having them captured at Craster's Keep but it seems like it will be interesting so I'm fine with that.. Hopefully Jon kills that little bastard Rast and that Karl as well next week.
Oh, the white walker stuff at the end was brilliant as well. Really theatrical scene.

Locke.
28-04-2014, 10:38 PM
Book spoilers
Just read this on westeros.org
There are huge implications from this revelation:
Other (pun intended) things to consider:
-HBO confirmed the Other at the end was the Night's King
-The Night's King was in a line of 13 of these "ruling" Others.
-The Night's King was the 13th Lord Commander of the Night's Watch
This raises the question, do past Lord Commanders of the Watch become these ruling class of Others (or at least until the Night's King did)? This episode seems to imply so. This in turn raises the question, is the entire Watch a sham? Is the Watch itself a pawn of the Others? Was the wall really erected to protect Westeros from the Others or is it their own creation? If so, was Bran the Builder an Other, and if so is the entire Stark line descended from the White Walkers? If that's so, then maybe Jon as the Great Other reborn and Dany as Azor Ahai reborn is confirmed from just this one scene. Will Melisandre try to bring back Jon in TWOW, only to have him be reborn a White Walker? There are huge, plot-shattering implications from this simple short show spoiler.
This was stuff that book readers were not meant to see. It's spoiler territory. But HBO gonna HBO, and the show was bound to pass the books eventually given the speed of GRRM's writing.

My god, Natalie Dormer is soooooo *****ing HOT!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see her in THG Mockingjay with her sexy semi-shaved head and all.
I loved seeing Jaimie and Brienne get some screen-time together again too. I really like the side of his character she brings out that nobody else seems to. If anyone will get the job done it's Brienne. She's a true Warrior and it's great to see such a unequivocally strong female character in a TV show. I hope she'll feature a lot more in later episodes/seasons!
I'm interested to see exactly what that sneaky Locke character is up to now he's wormed his way into the Knight's Watch and alongside John Snow. He's obviously behaving in decidedly surreptitious and devious manner by the looks of things. Hopefully he'll bump into Brienne again at some point but on a one to one level this time and she'll show him what's what.
I loved the footage where Dany was standing atop that pyramid after the city had been overthrown with the Targaryen banner draped over their old statue and the camera panned out and away from her showing the epic scale of the whole scene. She's another amazing character in the whole saga who just keeps on getting better with every new Season (and pretty much every episode she's featured in). Love her!!!!!
One of the best (if not THE best) episode of the Season so far and i think it was a pivotal episode that should make for an exciting and action-packed second half to this Season!
I kinda' wish they could have somehow done the White Walkers without using CGI (going down the oldschool Sam Winston type of method of using 'real' creatures and monsters) because , although they do still look effective, they looked undeniably CGI'd.
It's a minor gripe on the whole though in what's been probably the best serialized TV fantasy show ever created (in my opinion at least!).

That Dany scene though :umm2:
feel like I am watching a cheesy 80s fantasy movie
if only the great Viserys would have lived.

Yeah I have no time for Dany's scenes lately, a lot of her dialogue or at least the way she acts it out is very cringey now IMO.

I did like that kill the masters scene since it was basically ripped off from the Spartacus tv show

Just watching now
Quite a few of the scenes are very cheesy  (the obligatory O CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN moment with Jon's plan for Crasters) but I liked it a lot... and now I can ship Brienne with someone far more likeable than a rapist :flutter:

Ooh crikey. All this ice stuff is quite creepy (in an awesome way). Makes me want to rewatch Frozen just to balance it out.
Tommen is like the male Shireen, neither really have a bad bone in their body, tommen is much more like a baratheon then a horrible cunning power greedy lannister

i watched ep 3 and 4 last night. maybe it was the mood i was in but they were not as good as the first 2 which were great. glad i watch 2 at a time each time as the first one felt so short they should be 1hr 30 really. not much happened it didn't gel that well , 2 many story scenes trying to be put into a hour.
hope the next 2 are better.
Stannis getting destroyed by that baby white walker it will be like Tyrion at the Blackwater all over again
Robb getting destroyed by a 90 year old cripple and Roose is even worse, at least Stannis actually stood foot on KL and survived
Locke.

Got battered by a dwarf though.
I did like that kill the masters scene since it was basically ripped off from the Spartacus tv show
But it was written in English
Battered by a piss scented old fart
Locke.

No shame in getting killed by Roose, Stannis will be meeting the exact same fate soon
You won't be there to watch it though, youll still be crying about Robbwind not making an appearance :idc:
Locke.

Fans will only be interrupted once per episode during the broadcast on Sky Atlantic from Monday's (May 5) episode onwards this season.
Thank god for that

Tyrion Lannister action figure made by Threezero!
They're going to be making loads of the different characters. I think the face on this one is a really good likeness.

Littlefinger's accomplishments:
Made Lysa kill Jon Arryn
Made Catelyn kidnapp tyrion
Made the Starks believe the lannisters were behind Jon Arryns death
Plotted Joffreys death
Took Tywins key to the north
Started an alliance with the tyrells
Made the crown heavily in debt
