This is why I love the Irish panel discussing football because they pull no punches, unlike over in England where they have to be a bit more PC. You'd love listening to them lads cuz they just rant away. Hilarious to watch.

Any team that has a history of bringing in Irish players really, so Villa, Utd and Liverpool will always have good support. Most United or Liverpool though, but we all have a soft spot for Villa because of McGrath, Staunton, Townsend etc.

Yeah, we get it, but during the actual matches they're a bit tame in their criticism for me. What I do is watch the match on Sky and then switch over to these fellas at half time and afterwards. They always have things to say and are very candid in their assessments.

Was watching SSN this morning and they were on about Madrid going out yesterday and the Spanish reporter for them Graham Hunter said that Madrid contacted Arsenal 4 times for Wenger, was that the times before that Wenger himself admitted he spoke to them?:D.

Madrid are just a vile team, think superstars and egos are the answer to everything and can do what they want but all this money they spent but they have no team spirit..

JOEY COLE ON HIS WAY
Another day, another story in the tabs about Joe Cole leaving Chelsea in the summer.

The Daily Star reports that Cole will not accept the new contract offered to him by the cost-cutting club, given that said deal was only for one year, and included a 40% wage cut.

And the Star aren't stopping there. Oh no sireebob.

They claim that Cole will not only leave Chelsea, but do one up north and sign for Manchester United.

Indeed, the paper reckons Cole is 'almost certain' to join United, after being stunned that Chelsea would dare offer such a paltry deal.

United are favourites, say the paper, but Manchester City are also on hand with £80,000-a-week to offer the England midfielder, while inevitably Harry Redknapp is interested.

Crouch 'funniest man in UK sport'

England footballer Peter Crouch has been named the funniest man in British sport, topping the poll of the best one liners and comedy football moments of all time.

The 6ft 7in striker won top billing for a cheeky response to the question "What would you be if you weren't a footballer?"

The Spurs targetman replied: "A virgin."

LOL!!!

was watching the presenters talking after the game and one of them said " He played awful "

The game he scored a hat trick in against Porto... I thought his Positioning in that game was World class he knew where to be for the goals and he still had to finish.. Also worked hard tracking back and helping out at the back i noticed

BEndtner has always been good, he just needs to pink boots to finish.

Man gives himself so many chances if he could finish like messi or rooney, he would be awesome because he does get himself in great positions.

Yeah but you still have to finish them though

You have to be Positioned there to score the tap in.. Look at RVN most of his goals are like that, that's what makes him World class

And the penalty could not have been any better right in the bottom corner keeper went the right way as well

He had something like 8 shots on goal..
And like 7 or 9 against burnley.. if not more..

Still if he wants to be great he still needs to be able to keep the ball better, sometimes just no good, and needs to finish..

Roma turn their attention from Gallas to Eboue.

30stone
12-03-2010, 11:32 AM
Emmanuel Eboue is determined to finally win a trophy for Arsenal this season.

The Ivory Coast international, who has played in defence and midfield this season, believes Arsenal are stronger than they were last year.

He said: "Last year and this year is not the same. This year we are more compatible together, we have got more maturity and more solidarity in our team. If we continue to play like this, together, we can do something this season."

The 26-year-old went on to say that, despite speculation about his future at the club, it would mean a lot to him to repay the faith of his manager and win a trophy with Arsenal.

He said: "I never spoke with someone or said that I wanted to move. I have got two more years with Arsenal and I feel very good here. I want to win something for the club because they have helped me a lot, so I want to win something for them.

"Arsène Wenger, when we have some bad days he is always with us so for me I think he is like our dad here and we are all happy to play for him."

After scoring a good goal from midfield against Porto, he maintained that he is happy to fill any role that is needed of him for Arsenal.

He added: "For me, it doesn't matter. I just want to play, so if I play I am happy. It doesn't matter if Bacary Sagna plays. For me it doesn't matter where I play, if the boss puts me at right back I play, and if he puts me at midfield I'll play.

"Every day the players are laughing about me saying 'Emmanuel you do everything but when you come to the goalkeeper you are scared to score,' so I tried to show them I can score and I'm very, very happy."

Imminent Arsenal signing Wellington is a Manchester United fan!

The Fluminense striker is set to join Arsenal next season, but has created controversy by being spotted wearing opposition shirts.

His father attempted to play down the issue, explaining: "My son has also owned and worn the shirt of Manchester United, Arsenal's opponents, and several others.

"I do not see any controversy."

Wellington will move to Arsenal when he turns 18 in early 2011.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to turn to Lazio's Fernando Muslera as he looks to draft in a new goalkeeper in the summer.

The Frenchman is unhappy with the form of Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski and is looking to bring in a new number one at the end of the season with Lazio's highly-rated Muslera said to be top of his wanted list.

The 23-year-old Uruguayan has made the number one jersey his own and the Rome outfit have even offered him a new four-year deal to keep him in Serie A.

However Arsenal are keeping close tabs on the keeper, who admits he is aware of all the rumours and is flattered by Wenger's interest in him.

"It is important that a Premier League club like Arsenal have been monitoring my progress and it motivates me to play even better," the keeper revealed.

Manuel Almunia has been pretty good this season..

Sir Alex Ferguson has identified Arsenal, rather than Chelsea, as Manchester United's biggest threat in the Premier League title race.

Speaking after United beat Fulham 3-0 to reclaim top spot, Ferguson wondered if Arsenal, currently on a five-game winning run, could challenge United for the title.

Chelsea and Arsenal sit two points behind United, but Carlo Ancelotti's side have a game in hand on the reigning champions.

"We are back in the lead, but Chelsea have a game in hand," Ferguson said.

"It's also going to be a hard-fought tussle, with Arsenal coming strongly now, and I have a suspicion that they might yet mount the biggest challenge."

However, Ferguson was careful to add the most important caveat when discussing Arsenal.

"To a certain extent the title is in our hands because Chelsea have to come to Old Trafford (on April 3) and naturally that will be a massive match, but, as I say, I'm wary of Arsenal if they don't suffer too many more injuries to key players."

Ferguson also believes that this could be the tightest title race in years.

"Right now it's looking like it, I must say. It's looking very tight. We have only got eight games left, Chelsea have nine games left, so you never know. You have to think about goal difference. We're four goals ahead of Chelsea. I wish it was 14, but at least it's something in our favour.

"I suppose the simple way for us and Chelsea to look at it is just to win all our games. But life is never that simple."

Vile Madrid are so deluded:laugh2:, they won't get Wayne Rooney of course the way he's playing is going to attract a lot of interest from the top teams but he's very happy at United, down the road from his friends and family and plus there is his wife and baby he's always insisted he wants to play in England for the rest of his career and I believe him:D.

That would be a dream final though. Barca against Arsenal. Two adventurous teams who like to play attractive football and they both concede. Would be a great spectacle.

I agree only if United were to get knocked out;).

Never saw the chelsea vs inter game..

But ****ing hell were chelsea robbed, they were the complete dominant force inter didnt have a clue how to stop it..

Inter were extremely lucky Chelsea had their 3rd choice goal keeper..

And Chelsea should have had a blatent penalty..

Nope, Inter did the business. If they had finished their chances those Chelsea penalty claims wouldn't be talked about now.
