They're after Donovan as well now, well they can **** right off! Why would he want to go there, it's not like they even managed to reach the CL even with all the cash they splashed last season. They think they can flash their cheque book and get whoever they want, but like you said imo the only players in their right mind that would go there would purely be after the money, not the first team play because more than likely they won't get it! My most hated team in the whole PL.
They are going to end up so despised even more than United now, i'm still in shock as I thought we would always be the most HATED:joker:.
Yes money talks in football these days and thats why Silva has gone, he'll soon be wishing he never had bothered and only went because Valencia need the cash:(.
The MLS are more strict in letting their players go.. Donovan brings so much to their league commercially, as a individual, to the team and in US football in general that he is the face of it so no way he'll be going there. Everton had to have a special deal for that loan move.

Despite all the joking I think Man City will probably finish in a CL spot next year. They're getting there and are 100 times better than in recent seasons Tottenham over achieved last year IMO.

I guess Mourinho preferred Di Maria over Silva then, interesting, don't think I would to be honest but different players, I imagine he'll get hacked to bits by the ****ing thugs in this country but he certainly has the ability to be the best midfielder in the Premiership.

Roy Hodgson hoping to bring in Brede Hangeland, Danny Murphy, Gilberto Silva & Rafael van der Vaart after being appointed Liverpool manager - report
Roy Hodgson is believed to be targeting Brede Hangeland, Danny Murphy, Gilberto Silva & Rafael van der Vaart, once he is appointed as Liverpool's new manager.
The former Inter boss had a sensational campaign last season with Fulham, guiding the London club all the way to the final of the Europa League.
England's failure in the 2010 World Cup had seen him linked with a potential move to take over the reins of the national team, but recent reports point towards the gaffer being unveiled as the latest to take to the helm at Anfield.
Goal.com UK had previously revealed that the Fulham manager would not join the Merseyside club, unless he had some semblance of a transfer kitty at his disposal.
Now The Daily Mail claims that he will be handed £15 million to go shopping, with the £25m sale of Javier Mascherano to Barcelona and a £6m injection from Yossi Benayoun's move to Chelsea to make up his transfer budget.
It is said that Hodgson will look towards bringing in Panathinaikos' defensive midfielder Gilberto Silva as a replacement if the Argentine should push through with a move to the Catalan club, with an Anfield return for Danny Murphy also reported to be under consideration.
Additionally, to strengthen a Reds that looked shaky on more than a few occasions last season, the 62-year-old is believed to have cast his eye on raiding his former club for Brede Hangeland.
It has been speculated that the success achieved under Hodgson will be convincing enough for the Norway international to switch allegiances and move to Merseyside.
Hodgson is also reportedly interested in bringing in Real Madrid midfielder Rafael van der Vaart to Anfield, amidst claims that the now manager of the Spanish club, Jose Mourinho, will let go of the player.

Milan could stick a move together for Keisuke Honda as club sponsors Fly Emirates provide the glue, according to Sports Nippon.
Japanese media claim Fly Emirates will foster the move after offering to pay for the player's wages should Milan sign him during the transfer window.
The airline company are eager to stretch their image across the Asian continent and see Honda as a means of increasing their branding power in Japan.
On Friday the 24-year-old CSKA Moscow ace and Japan international was linked with Milan by La Gazzetta dello Sport, who claimed club supremo Adriano Galliani was following him.
However, Valencia, Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City are also keen on him.
Meanwhile, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been tipped to join French champions Olympique Marseille, according to Le Parisien and France Football.
They claim Huntelaar's lack of football and his position behind Marco Borriello and Alexandre Pato in the pecking order will see him go. The former Ajax and Real Madrid man is reportedly valued at €15 million by Milan.
Honda has done very well.

Roy Hodgson looks to make this English midfielder his first signing as Liverpool manager
Ever since it was announced that Roy Hodgson had been appointed the new Liverpool manager, a whole host of names have been linked with summer moves to Anfield.
One name which I am sure will excite many Liverpool fans is Aston Villa’s Ashley Young. The Mail on Sunday has claimed that Hodgson will look to make Young his first signing as the new Liverpool boss and I for one believe he would be an incredible signing for the Merseyside club.
Young, 24, has become one of the most feared wingers in the Premier League ever since he made the switch from Watford to Aston Villa back in 2007. Villa boss Martin O’Neill will no doubt be desperate to hold onto one of his most prized assets but it is expected that given the opportunity, Young would jump at the chance to join Liverpool.
Liverpool will no doubt need to sell a player or two if they want to sign Young, given the fact there is clearly not much money to spend at the moment. We all know Yossi Benayoun joined Chelsea last week so Liverpool clearly need to add another midfield player to their ranks and I reckon they could do a lot worse than Young.
Wonder if villa will let him go.

Fernando Torres set for Liverpool exit as agent admits Premier League big boys are interested
Fernando Torres appeared to be on the verge of leaving Liverpool after his agent indicated the striker is bound for another Premier League club.
Chelsea are at the front of the queue to sign the Spaniard and Manchester City also showed interest before moving on to other targets when they got little encouragement from the 26-year-old.
Agent Jose Antonio Martin said: ‘It is very likely that Fernando Torres will stay in the Premier League, but I cannot say that it will be with Liverpool. We are working on his future but right now you cannot guarantee that he will stay with the English club.’

Messi shocked at Walcott snub
Argentina and Barcelona attacker Lionel Messi admits he was dumbfounded by the decision not to take Theo Walcott to the World Cup.
Walcott was expected to make the plane to South Africa but England manager Fabio Capello opted to leave him at home.
The decision came despite the fact that the 21-year-old became the youngest ever player to score a hat-trick for England in 2008, following an excellent performance in Croatia.
And Messi points to last season's Champions League clash between Arsenal and Barcelona as another match where Walcott had a major impact.
With the Gunners trailing 2-0 and on the ropes against the Spanish champions at the Emirates, Walcott came off the bench and changed the game as Arsenal salvaged a 2-2 draw.
Messi, 23, was shocked when Capello named his World Cup squad, and believes England would have had more success if Walcott was onboard.
"I must say that at the time I thought it was a bad decision to leave Theo Walcott at home," he told the Daily Star.
"And I think that has been proved right. I can only speak from experience but he was one of the most dangerous players I have ever played against.
"Barcelona players are not scared easily but I can tell you that when we played Arsenal last season he truly worried us.
"When we were playing Arsenal at the Emirates we were so in control of the game at 2-0, with all respect Arsenal were not even in the game.
"Then Theo came on and changed the game. He pretty much single-handedly salvaged a draw against Barcelona that night.
"Even in the return leg our manager Pep Guardiola was telling us he was the player to watch out for.
"And the best players in the world like Xavi and Gerard Pique were telling us to watch out for him. The truth is that he really rattled us.
"If he could do that against Barcelona, think what he could have done against Germany and Algeria. Even if he didn't start he would still have been very important for England.
"Along with Cesc Fabregas and Sergio Aguero he would have been the best impact player at the World Cup."
Messi, whose Argentina side crashed out in the quarter-finals after also being thumped by Germany, says Walcott's pace is his best asset.
He added: "Even at the top level, pace scares the world's best defenders. And, take it from me, he would scare any defender.
"When England brought on players I don't think they were at the level to make any impact. But Walcott would have been and I still can't understand why he wasn't taken.
"He is a big-game player as well who rises to the occasion. He scored a hat-trick in Croatia, which nobody ever does and was the star against Barcelona."
Well said Mr Messi!!

Manchester City spree will top £175m as Blues step up chase for Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko
Manchester City will step up their quest for a striker this week as they prepare to take their summer spending past £175million.
City spent £60m last week when they confirmed deals for Jerome Boateng, Yaya Toure and David Silva, and they plan to conclude another £67m worth of business with Lazio's Aleksandar Kolarov, Benfica's David Luiz and Aston Villa's James Milner over the next few days.
As Sportsmail has revealed, they are significant steps in what will be the biggest spending spree under taken by a British club in one summer, dwarfing the £120m they spent last year, and the piece de resistance is yet to be delivered.
City fear they will miss out on Fernando Torres because of his preference for playing elsewhere if he leaves Liverpool, but the club have other strikers in mind.
They have made a play for Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko and were alarmed at the German club's £50m demands.

Gourcuff has been widely tipped to leave Parc Lescure after returning from South Africa, where he was on World Cup duty with France.
Arsenal and Lyon have been among the clubs linked with the 23-year-old, and while the French outfit have enquired about the playmaker, Triaud believes nothing more will come of it.
He told 20 minutes: "An official from Lyon called one of our officials to talk. But there was no concrete proposition, it all remained vague.
"Frankly, we don't care, we are absolutely not attracted (to selling him to Lyon)."

Arsenal still in chase for Bremen ace
Arsenal - Per Mertesacker remains on Emirates wanted list
Arsenal are set to continue their pursuit of Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker.
The German international has impressed in the nation's World Cup run, and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly ready to step-up his interest come the end of the World Cup.
Mertesacker started his career at Hannover 96, graduating from the youth team to make his senior debut as a teenager in 2003.
After three solid seasons at Die Roten, Werder paid €5 million to secure the giant centre back's services at the Weserstadion.
An ever present since signing for the club, Mertesacker's stock has risen with continuous fine performances in both the Bundesliga and Champions League.
International recognition has also come to the 25-year-old, who has 66 caps to his name thus far. Influential in South Africa, the linchpin will have an important role to play in the semi-final against Spain.
Despite recent agent comments suggesting the player does not wish to leave his homeland, Wenger is being linked with a move in excess of £10 million as he looks to build a defence capable of sustaining a title challenge.
With money to spend and L’Orient’s Laurent Koseielny thought to be on the verge of signing, it's clear that the north London club mean business this summer ahead of the new Premier League season.

Clubs start to offer keepers to Arsenal
Portuguese international keeper Eduardo has been offered to Arsenal by his current club Sporting Braga according to The Daily Mail.
Although Arsenal are set to sign Fulham and Australia’s Mark Schwartzer, Eduardo would only cost the Gunners a sum of £3.4m which is apparently a cheap price for the keeper who conceded only once in 4 games in the WC.
27 year old Eduardo was supposed to join Italian outfit Genoa, but for some odd reason Braga would rather him play in England, and precisely at Arsenal.
Arsenal though would be left with the small problem of getting rid of Manuel Almunia, whom the fans would love to see leaving after a not-so-great season for the keeper that had cost the Gunners both the EPL and CL titles (according to their fans).

Marseille coach Didier Deschamps hints he'd like to sign Arsenal's Samir Nasri
Return of Gunners' Frenchman a possibility for OM?
Olympique Marseille coach Didier Deschamps has admitted that he wouldn't mind seeing Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri back at his club, though he acknowledges that at present it is unlikely.
Deschamps has claimed that economic reasons were behind the player's departure from the French outfit to north London in 2008, and that Nasri was not keen on the move anyway.
When asked whether he'd like to see Nasri return to his club, Deschmaps replied, according to L'Equipe: "Why not? But I think he is doing well exactly where he is!
"He did not want to move to Arsenal. He had just had a very good season.
"When he left, there was an economic need for OM. And when these players go to clubs like Arsenal, we can no longer fight."
Meanwhile, Deschamps was also keen to retain the services of Nigerian defender Taye Taiwo.
"I do not want him to leave. He is in demand because has has quality, but for the moment, I do not intend to seek a replacement because I do not want him to go," the coach added.
"But we'll be sure to find the best solution for the player and the club."
Nasri will be great next seaon :)

Arsene Wenger's BlackBerry prevents Gunners pushing through deal for Laurent Koscielny
Arsene Wenger's BlackBerry is the only thing preventing the Gunners completing the deal to sign French defender Laurent Koscielny.
The Arsenal manager, currently working for French television in South Africa, has been unable to give his final seal of approval on the deal because he has left his mobile phone back in London.
Koscielny's agent claims Lorient have forwarded a new finely tuned version of the original proposal to Arsenal and to Wenger which is unlikely to be met by any resistance.
If he signs for Arsenal i think he will be a French international within a year.

Real Madrid are reportedly set to launch a bid for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and they will offer the club in excess of £30m plus either Rafael van der Vaart or Fernando Gago. With such a large offer would the club be making the right move in accepting the bid?
Everybody knows that Steven Gerrard is a world class midfielder and could probably play for any team in the world and so it’s no surprise that Real Madrid are interested in his services. As a symbol of Liverpool it would be heartbreaking for fans to see him go, just like it must be for Real Madrid fans to see Raul leaving the club this summer. However in both circumstances fans have to consider what more can they offer the club? And is it economically a good deal?
The answer in both circumstances is a resounding yes, Gerrard is now 30-years-old and to get that sort of money for someone that age is a great deal on it’s own, to get that amount plus quality midfield with it is even better. As for Raul the Spanish striker is 33 now and reportedly earns £3.3m a year at the club, so although he could maybe still have a part to play for them it would be better for Real Madrid to let him leave.
With Liverpool having very limited funds they probably need all the money they can get to go out and make new signings. The cash injection his sale would bring will enable Roy Hodgson to get them a lot of players and would significantly boost their chances of getting back into the top four next season. Both van der Vaart and Gago are great players and despite them being different types of midfielders, could both easily get into Liverpool’s team. It would just be a question of what is needed more, a defensive midfielder or an attacking one? Really a case could be made for either coming to the club with Liverpool already boasting Alberto Aquilani as an attacking midfielder and Javier Mascherano as a defensive midfielder. What would make an even better deal for the club would be if they could persuade Real to part with both midfielders plus the cash. Considering Madrid always seem to be happy to go out and buy new players it may not be such an improbable idea.

Chelsea midfielder Deco has already agreed personal terms with Fluminense, according to the president of the group that owns the Brazilian club.
The Brazil-born Portugal international has long been expected to leave Stamford Bridge and he said in the last domestic season that he wanted to return to South America.
That could soon become reality as Fluminense claim that discussions with Deco have reached a positive conclusion and that all that is left to address is a deal with Chelsea and the 32-year-old’s medical.
“As Deco himself said, the deal is well under way,” said Celso Barros, the president of the group which owns Fluminense, a club based in Rio de Janeiro.

“It depends only on him being released by Chelsea and passing the medical tests, because the salary and length of contract have already been agreed.
“We will not talk this Wednesday, but in principle Deco will go to London to try to expedite his release with Chelsea.
“That done, he has asked Fluminense for at least a week to be with his children in Brazil and then he will report for medical tests and to start training.” (Sky Sports)

Rafa Benitez hopes to take Glen Johnson or Gareth Bale to Inter Milan as a replacement for Real Madrid-bound Maicon.
The Italian champions are ready to cave in on their Brazil right back’s desire to be reunited with Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu and are expected to do a deal for about £25million with the Spaniards.
Inter had been hoping for nearer £30m – £10m more than Madrid’s valuation of the 28-year-old – but the European champions know that Maicon’s heart is set on following Mourinho.
Benitez sees his former Liverpool man Johnson as a like-for-like replacement as a defender who is comfortable getting forward down the right flank.
An alternative would be Tottenham Hotspur defender Bale, according to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, even though the Wales international operates down the opposite flank.
Argentina veteran Javier Zanetti and 19-year-old rising star Davide Santon have both played at left back but are equally comfortable down the right, opening the way for Inter to bid for Bale.
A move for either of the Barclays Premier League stars will be hard to complete. Bale, 20, is highly regarded in Italy and has also been tracked by AC Milan and Juventus.
However, Harry Redknapp is keen to hold on to the 20-year-old and reports in Italy claim that Spurs scared off Italian suitors in January by quoting an asking price approaching £20m. (Daily Mail)

Ignoring his age and the price, no other player can give us what Gerrard does. There might be other players out there that are more classy, but their heart wouldn't be in it like Gerrard's is. Look at Robinho at Man City, he's clearly an amazing player but he just doesn't care about the club and played ****e for them because of that, same happened with us last year with Aqualani. It's too much of a risk to sell our best player and bring in a foreign player that doesn't give a crap about the club.
And when it comes to the money... Mascherano is supposed to be going to Barcelona for 25 million anyway. Benayoun already left and brought in 5 million. There's the 30 we're being offered. And I can't see Aqualani staying, or Babel. Probably not Ngog either.

Arsenal are expected to complete the £10million signing of Lorient defender Laurent Koscielny later this week.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been chasing the player for some time but only now is a deal on the verge of going through after Lorient found a replacement for their outgoing star.
Lorient are set to sign Bruno Manga from Ligue Two side Angers SCO and as soon as the deal goes through they will allow Koscielny to make the switch to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are already thought to have agreed terms with the player and now just need to sort out the fee with Lorient, who want an initial £8.5million plus £1.5million in add ons.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is furious at losing out to Manchester City for David Silva.
The Sunday Mirror says Fergie saw Silva as an ideal successor to Paul Scholes and was planning to use the Spaniard as a creative central midfielder.
But United were blown away by the transfer fee City handed to Valencia and the £150,000-a-week wages that dwarfs anything currently on offer at Old Trafford.

Spanish press: Ferguson reignites Benzema chase with £25 million offer
Spanish publication Marca are reporting that Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is preparing a £25 million bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
The 22-year-old endured a torrid debut season at the Bernabeu, but Manchester United have maintained a strong interest in the France international even though the former Lyon forward rejected Sir Alex Ferguson advances last summer in favour of a move to Real Madrid. The striker’s peripheral role in La Liga led to his surprise omission from Raymond Domenech’s doomed World Cup squad, and Marca suggest the precocious Frenchman is considering a move to Old Trafford in an effort to reignite his flagging career.
The well respected newspaper intimates Manchester United will offer Real Madrid £25 million in an effort to lure Benzema to the Premier League, with Sir Alex Ferguson desperate to alleviate the goal scoring burden currently shouldered by Wayne Rooney.
The form of Old Trafford’s latest recruit, Javier Hernandez, during the World Cup finals will have encouraged Ferguson, but Manchester United’s fans will be desperate to see their beleaguered owners respond to the influx of world stars at their bitter rivals Manchester City.

Raymond Domenech has assumed at least partial responsibility for France’s dramatic World Cup exit in South Africa, conceding that he picked the wrong players for the task in the first place.
Eyebrows were raised when Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema, Sevilla’s Julien Escude and in-form Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri were all omitted from his squad of 23 players to travel to the competition, and now Domenech has accepted that some of his critics may have been right in the first place.
The former coach — who has made way for Laurent Blanc, whose appointment is expected to be formalised on Friday — spoke in front of the National Assembly regarding the debacle on Wednesday. Though his words were behind closed doors on that occasion, he has since told the media that errors were made.
“The portrayal of France is unacceptable,” he confessed.
“I do not know the bond between the individuals and I assume my responsibilities. I regret that I was mistaken in choosing the players I took in the list of 23.”
Les Bleus embarrassed themselves on and off the field in South Africa as a series of debacles, including a strike from the players, led to their elimination from the group stages.

But the coach was not good either." So basically you've contradicted yourself entirely there Gallas you tool..... everybody was "not good" but no, it's all the coaches fault.

Everton midfielder Dan Gosling has left the club and is available on a free transfer after a contract error.
The Premier League were asked to make a ruling after the England Under 21 prospect was not given a new contract offer in writing.
Everton claimed they offered Gosling a new deal verbally, but nothing was sent to him in writing by the due date.
The Premier League have now ruled Gosling is free to move on as Everton did not make a written contract offer.
As revealed by skysports.com last week Newcastle are leading the chase for the versatile star, with Sunderland and West Ham also in the hunt for Gosling's signature.
Gosling will miss the start of the new season as he is currently recovering from a serious knee injury, but it seems he will be at a new club next term.
****ing pathetic that due to a admin error that we've just lost a potential £4 million. Good luck to Dan wherever he ends up, I think he's got a good future ahead of him.

Standard Liege forward Milan Jovanovic will join Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer, the Belgian club have confirmed to BBC Sport.
The 28-year-old had been linked with AC Milan, Juventus and Valencia.
But he told Belgian newspaper Sporza: "We have reached an agreement for three years, with the option to extend with another season.
"I opted to sign for Liverpool because they're one of the biggest teams in Europe - definitely in the top 10."
Jovanovic joined Standard in 2006 and helped them win back-to-back titles in 2007-08 and 2008-09, while he has scored 12 goals in 23 games to date this season.
The striker, who rejected a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid last year fearing he would not be a regular first-team choice, added: "I'm absolutely delighted that the deal is completed.
"From now on, I can focus on Standard Liege again. I want to leave the club in a good way."
Jovanovic, who has also played for Shakhtar Donetsk and Lokomotiv Moscow, made his international debut for Serbia in a 2-0 win over Finland in June 2007.

Yeah I know, it's pathetic. Apparently the 15k a week offer was made to him verbally but not put in writing by the deadline, stupid, stupid, stupid. Plus the fact that we now can't get any money for him, like we're not already short of cash.
Some Everton fans are being arsey about him now saying he was **** etc, just because he's leaving, it's not about the money he wants more first team play...can't blame the lad for that really, although it would be nice for him to have a bit more patience, Rodwell is a far superior player and even he doesn't get much at the moment. Plus Dan is still injured and not expected to be fit for another 4 months. Ah well.

John Heitinga has declared he is "proud to be an Evertonian" as he prepares for the 2010 World Cup final on Sunday.
The Dutch defender is in line to become the first Everton player to grace a World Cup final for 44 years – second only to Ray Wilson who started for England against West Germany in 1966.
Ahead of his first tournament final, the Blues centre-back has delivered a message of thanks to the Club and the fans, highlighting his first season with the Toffees as a key factor in his international success.
“It is a great club and I am playing in a World Cup Final as an Evertonian,” said Heitinga.
“The Premier League has made me a much better player. Coming from Spain to England has helped me so much and Everton have assisted with that.
“The fans were very good to me last season. We struck up a good relationship. I have signed a five-year contract and I am proud to play for Everton.”
Heitinga has played every minute of his homeland's campaign in South Africa so far, and if the Dutch were to lift the prestigious trophy this weekend, they will equal Brazil's 100 per cent record of victories achieved in a World Cup tournament.
Spain were confirmed as Holland's final opponents on Wednesday evening after a stunning 73-minute header from Carles Puyol clinched victory over Germany in Durban. Heitinga is still confident however that his country will create their own piece of World Cup history on Sunday.
“We have won all six games here and that is a big victory for the players because we are writing history now,” Heitinga added.
“We just concentrated on doing it on the pitch and the fact that we arrived in the World Cup Final shows we did a good job.
“Of course, the final will be difficult, but we are determined to complete the journey.
Ohhhhhhhh Johnny Johnny! :worship:

Cesc Fabregas stumbled over his words when he dedicated Spain's World Cup victory to Arsenal's fans, players and staff, referring to himself as an Arsenal player in the past tense – "I am really proud to have been an Arsenal player" – before correcting himself later.
Now that the World Cup finals are over, Fabregas's advisers will try to negotiate their client's wish to return to Barcelona, the club he left in 2003 as a 16-year-old to play first-team football at Arsenal. Fabregas is expected to be told that he will not be allowed to move this summer under any circumstances.
Like Fernando Torres at Liverpool, Fabregas is signed to a long-term contract – until 2015 – and Arsenal are under no pressure to cash in on his value. At the age of 23 he will remain a valuable asset for some years to come and the club do not believe that parting with him now, especially with Barcelona's valuation around £30m, makes any sense.
Well done mr fabregas.
Think there is a possibility we will keep him now.

Birmingham is much better than them two IMO:p, anyway if Huntellar was to come to England it would suit his game better because it hasn't worked out for him at Madrid or Milan.
Hopefully he will see that he is better off playing at Villa rather than sitting on the City bench, although the cash would be tempting if MON gets his move on for some transfer deals.

Valencia have set their sights on Arsenal striker Eduardo, to join their new look team for next season. According to Goal.com the Croatian looks set to fill the hole left by David Villa and Nicola Zigic, as they build a new squad for the Champions League. The player, who returned from a broken leg last year has not returned to the dazzling form, which may be the deciding factor in him leaving the Emirates.
Arsenal target Christian Zapata has opened the door for a move to Arsenal, after his agent claims he wants to play in the Premier League next season. Massimo Italiani told Calciomercato.com the Colombian is flattered by the show in him by the English giants. "It's nice to hear that Arsenal are interested in the player." He later went on to say that a number of clubs will be fighting it out for the defender. "Several Italian clubs are also interested in Zapata but, for the time being, I have not received any offers from Italy or England."
Cesc Fabregas has begged fans forgiveness after appearing in a Barcelona shirt, in Spains world cup party according to the star. His Catalan counterparts Gerard Pique and Carlos Puyol forced the jersey over his head, which was quickly taken off by the midfielder, and the player has also been quoted as talking about his time at Arsenal in the past tense.

Well done Buquets!
finally now maybe the rest of the tit's at the nou camp will follow this..
Barcelona's Sergio Busquets admits he would love to play alongside Cesc Fabregas in La Liga but doubts a deal will be done.
The Catalan giants have been chasing the Arsenal captain since before the World Cup and have already seen a bid in the region of £30million knocked back by the Gunners.
Barca stars Lionel Messi, Andres Iniesta and Xavi have been vocal about their desire for the 23-year-old to join them at Camp Nou, while Barcelona defenders Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol forced Fabregas to wear a Blaugrana jersey as Spain celebrated their World Cup success.
Busquets admits he would welcome the opportunity to play with Fabregas at Barca after lining up with him for Spain, but unlike his team-mates the holding midfielder remains doubtful any deal will be done as Arsenal are keen to maintain his services.
He said: "He is a great player that would add a lot to the team, but we have to respect that he is owned by another club that is not Barcelona, that he is an Arsenal player and, for the time being, there's nothing to be done."

Cardiff City have been reported to The Football League by Charlton for their failure to pay us a transfer fee that is owed.
Mark Hudson was signed by The Bluebirds last summer for just over £1m, however The Championship club have so far only paid about half of that amount with £500,000 unpaid for the former Addicks skipper.

Liverpool Complete £15.6m Deal to Sign Joe Cole?
Paddy Power today suspended betting on Joe Cole’s next club following a flood of bets on the ex-Chelsea player moving to Liverpool.
Liverpool had been available at odds of 11/2 to be Cole’s next club on Saturday morning but was backed into just 7/4 after numerous lumpy bets were wagered. The bookie then suspended betting when the slashing of odds failed to stem the tide.
Tottenham had been the bookie’s favourite since betting opened, but the Liverpool plunge was the first significant move in the market.
Paddy Power said, “We’ve raised the white flag and it looks like good news for Liverpool fans. It was a very quiet market that suddenly sprang to life and scores of bets were placed one after the other at all odds between 11/2 and 7/4. Money usually talks in markets like this and it’s shouting louder than a vuvuzela!”

Young Arsenal midfielder Tom Cruise proved to be the hero for the England Under 19’s after grabbing his country’s crucial third goal in the narrow 3-2 victory against Austria yesterday.
Noel Blake’s side looked to be on course for a comfortable win in their European Championship opener when West Ham’s Frank Nouble’s brace gave the Three Lions a 2-0 first half lead.
However, David Alaba brought the Austrians back into the game with a dipping free-kick seven minutes after the interval, before Cruise restored England’s two-goal lead after Steven Caulker had headed down John Bostock’s corner.
But the game’s outstanding player Alaba then set up Gernot Trauner for Austria’s second in the 73rd minute and it proved to be a nervous finish for Blake’s men.
Blake said: “I thought one or two of our players didn’t recognise the strength of the Austrians. I just felt one or two took a bit of a liberty.
“Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition. We knew they were a good side otherwise they wouldn’t be here but sometimes you just need that wake-up call. I expressed that in a forthright manner.”
Blake added: “But tournament football is about winning the first game. I am disappointed with the goals we conceded and the way they were conceded.
“But we have scored three goals and we didn’t lose the first game so we can look forward now.
“We passed the ball well at times. We countered well at times, and we closed them down well at times.”
Meanwhile, Austria coach Andreas Heraf felt his side were unlucky. “We were the better team,” he said. “The way we played was the better way.”

Barcelona are expected to make one final bid to land Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal - but Pep Guardiola fears the deal may never happen.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger called for the pursuit to stop at the weekend - but the appeal has fallen on deaf ears in Catalonia, with Barca coach Guardiola reiterating that he wanted Fabregas at the Nou Camp.

There were a lot of upset Everton supporters a couple of weeks ago when we reported that Arsenal were keen to sign Phil Jagielka, but the story - and the Gunners - just won't go away, and now it seems Arsene Wenger is prepared to increase his offer.
Over the weekend it was rumoured the Gunners had been knocked back with an initial bid of £14m, but today the Daily Star report Arsenal could go as high as £18 million for the England international.
Shakhtar Donetsk are closing on a £6million deal for Arsenal’s Eduardo.
The Brazil-born Croatia striker has also attracted the attention of Aston Villa and Besiktas, but Shakhtar have the advantage of offering Champions League football and would pay the 27-year-old £50,000 a week.
Eduardo was pulled out of the pre-season friendly win at Barnet at the last minute on Saturday and is falling down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium. - Kinda dissapointing really :(

Cesc Fabregas' Arsenal to Barcelona transfer 'is dead', says Pep Guardiola
Barcelona's hopes of signing Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas this summer appear to be dwindling - to the extent that boss Pep Guardiola has admitted the transfer probably won't happen.
Fabregas has been linked with a move to the Spanish champions throughout the summer, having cast doubt on his future in north London prior to the World Cup.
Guardiola has admitted he is keen to sign the midfielder despite Arsenal's reluctance to sell.
But he has told a press conference in Spain that the deal looks dead in the water - especially as Barcelona's spending power looks set to be limited for the rest of the transfer window following revelations of a loan that was required to pay the players last month.
"We want him, but if Arsenal don't want to negotiate he won't come," the coach admitted.
"I think bringing in Cesc will cost a lot."
Talk escalated over Barcelona's attempts to sign the player - which included a failed bid of £29million and Fabregas being pictured in a Barca shirt at the Spain World Cup victory celebrations - his departure looked all but certain.
However, in recent days comments attributed to Fabregas - who is currently on holiday in Formentera with Spain team-mate and Barca defender Gerard Pique - have suggested he is paving the way to stay with the Gunners next season.
Following the pictures of him wearing the Catalan club's shirt, he pleaded forgiveness from the Arsenal fans and said he would dedicate his World Cup winners medal to manager Arsene Wenger and the north London club's coaching staff.

Arsenal could target Giovinco rather than the expensive Ozil
The Gunners might train their sights to more feasible purchase and avoid the inevitable bidding war for the German star.
It seems it's now decision time for Joe Cole as both Liverpool and Tottenham have put in place what are apparently agreeable deals for the England midfielder.
Cole's future home has been one of the most talked about rumours since Chelsea showed the England midfielder the door earlier in the summer.
Moves abroad and in England have been discussed - at one stage Real Madrid were said to be interested - but it now appears it's a straight battle between a quick dash across London or a new home in the north west.
It seems that both clubs are offering Cole a package around the £90,000-a-week mark, according to reports in a number of national papers including The Sun, The Guardian and The Daily Mail.
Cole would be working under an English manager at either club, but whether his prior knowledge of Harry Redknapp, and the prospect of instant Champions League football, makes Tottenham his preference ahead of joining Roy Hodgson at Liverpool remains to be seen.

Arsenal Transfers: The Top Five Replacements for William Gallas
Phil Jagielka
Wenger has been reported to make a £ 14m bid for the Everton man, which has been rejected. So, comes again a new fresh £ 16m bid to land Jagielka for the Gunners.
Phil has been impressive in his performances in Everton with solid tackling ability and even scoring at times, and has a recovered from a serious knee injury and Wenger sees him as a good solution to steady his defense.
Aged at 27, the homegrown 2008-09 player of the season for Everton, has been known to play even at midfield early in his career and his versatility can be a boon to the Gunners. It is time that will say what works out between David Moyes and Arsene Wenger.
Gary Cahill
The Bolton centre back has already drawn attention in Wenger's list since last year, but the price tag demanded by Bolton is pretty heavy around a £ 20m which resulted in a halt in negotiations.
However, Gary Cahill is a young and growing defender with good physical ability, superb tackling skills, good in air with 6'2" height and also able to score the odd goal when needed. That makes the subject again to be discussed and brought on the table.
Bolton's poster boy has been regarded as the future England international and it is clear that Arsenal manager has to place a bid of the range of £ 15m to land the defender. Plus, he is of the homegrown criteria and has the experience of a tough premier league season, which makes him a good fit in defense of Arsenal.
Serdar Tasci
The young German international has impressed eyes with his strong tackling ability and positioning sense, and also displays a great control over the ball in his feet. He is a rising star and so is regarded by the German coach Joachim Low who has repeatedly singled him out as an outstanding youngster.
Aged at 23, he will be a perfect choice for Wenger to develop and will also come in the range of £ 15m. He is regarded as the prototype modern central defender and can open up the play from the tightest situations with pinpoint passing and clearing ability.
Currently playing for Stuttgart, he seems to have been gifted with winning glory when on his first year he lifted the Bundesliga trophy with Stuttgart, so can he bring the same fortune and blessings to Arsenal? It will be worth watching.
Neven Subotic
Often called as the new Vidic from Serbia, this young man has caught eyes of elite bosses all over the world. He is a prized asset for his club Borussia Dortmund, and it will take a sum of around £ 15m to £ 20m to land him for the Gunners.
Compared with Fernando Hierro and lauded as one of the finest defenders of the German Bundesliga, he is known for his safe and cultured defending that adds strength to the team's centre back. He is only at 20, and thus has a plenty of time to grow and establish as the finest in the game.
He also knows where the goal is, which is indeed a rare and cherished trait for a defender, thus scoring 13 goals in three seasons for his club. So Serbia is full of talents, ain't it?
Joris Mathijsen
Aged at 30, he may not be of the criteria that fills up Wenger's list of young talents, but he was an integral part of the team Holland that conceded only two goals in road to the World Cup.
The Hamburg defender has showed his excellence to end up the defensive problems of Hamburg, and moreover he is not exactly the attacking defender type which makes him an interesting choice. Arsene Wenger's squad surely needs a defender who can stay back and guard the fort.
He may come up with a price tag nearing £ 15m after his world cup performance, and is in a contract with Hamburg until 2012.

We apparently already have around 15 million to spend.
Insua is going to Fiorentina for around 5 mil.
Riera will be leaving for about 3-5 million probably. (He's worth more imo but it'll do)
And I still think Mascherano will leave to Inter for 25 mil.
So there's just over 30 mil plus the 15 we've already got, if the board let us spend that on transfers and don't steal it from Roy to pay off our debts, then I think he can get a pretty decent squad together.

Ajax will be forced to sell a host of their top stars this summer, according to former youth team coach Arnold Muhren. The Amsterdam side’s poor financial situation looks certain to force the sale of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, Dutch number one Maarten Stekelenburg and right-back Gregory van der Wiel; a situation which looks likely to precipitate the departure of Martin Jol to Fulham. (Sport.co.uk)
Arsene Wenger may well be monitoring the situation at the Dutch giants. With Martin Jol set to leave to join Fulham there could be something of a vacuum at the club and all three of the players named by this source could be of interest to the Emirates boss.
The Gunners manager has already been strongly linked with a move for right back Gregory van der Wiel who is also being courted by Bayern Munich. The youngster impressed at the World Cup and seems certain to leave the Eredivisie as he looks to make a step up the footballing ladder.
Luis Suarez is another player who has at one time been a target of the north London club however perhaps the need for another striker is not that great as Marouane Chamakh has made his way to Arsenal. That being said the Uruguayan goal machine could be available on the cheap as the Amsterdam club are in significant financial dire straits.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp wants to do a bargain deal for Manchester City’s Craig Bellamy – after backing out of the Joe Cole chase.
Redknapp is keen to land long-term target Bellamy and hopes City will let him go on the cheap, possibly as little as £3 million, after replacing him with Spanish star David Silva.
Canny Redknapp thinks Bellamy would be perfect for his squad as he chases glory on the domestic and Champions League front – and he would ideally like him signed in time for the qualifiers for Europe.
Bellamy would have a better chance of a regular game at White Hart Lane as City boss Roberto Mancini seems set to pick Silva ahead of him – a squad rotation open that the Welshman may not fancy.

Former Arsenal target Loic Remy appears set to sign for Liverpool after the Reds had reached an agreement with French side Nice for his transfer fee, according to online reports.
The French striker has long been compared to Thierry Henry and the 23 year old is excited about joining the Merseysiders. Pending medical tests; a fee of £12.5m has been agreed upon.
Liverpool it now seems have beaten both Spurs and the Hammers whose directors flew to France earlier for the purpose of landing Remy, but the player has made his choice and it was not in favour of either of the London clubs.
“Liverpool is a legendary club,” said Remy talking to Nice Matin. “I am very excited by the thought of playing there. It has a magnificent stadium and a fantastic public.”
Remy’s agent Frederic Guerra confirmed the news talking to Sky Sports: “Yes, Liverpool are interested in Loic and Loic is interested in Liverpool”. (Footylatest.com)

Joe Cole 'snubbed Arsenal transfer for extra £10k a week with Liverpool'
New Liverpool signing Joe Cole rejected a move to Arsenal - and Champions League football - for the sake of an extra £10,000 a week in wages and an additional year on his contract, it has emerged.
The England international had been the subject of speculation linking him with both Arsenal and Tottenham after he became available on a free transfer following his release by Chelsea.
However, Cole's decision to join Liverpool raised eyebrows - especially after comments from his agent David Giess earlier in the transfer window that "continuing to play in the Champions League is high on his priorities".
In addition to the lure of Europe's top club competition, with Liverpool in the Europa League, the 28-year-old had been tipped to stay in London because wife Carly Zucker had recently given birth to the couple's first child, and was not keen to leave the capital.
However, Metro has learned that Cole demanded at least a four-year contract at Anfield, and was adamant he needed the stability of a longer deal to make the move to Merseyside.
And it seems the issue of salary was also a major factor in negotiations, with Cole turning down £80,000 a week over two years to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Spurs' offer is thought to have been in the region of £65,000 a week over three years, with the sweetener of a substantial signing-on fee.
Liverpool paying him 90k a week until he's 32.
Have to say i have lost a little respect for him, greed, like gareth barry when he signed for city..

Cesc may demand Arsenal transfer to clinch Barcelona move
Cesc Fabregas may submit a transfer request at Arsenal to get his move to Barcelona.
The Daily Mail says Fabregas refusing to take no for an answer on his dream move to Barcelona and may be forced to make an official transfer request.
This follows manager Arsene Wenger's assertion his skipper will not be off to the Nou Camp this summer.
Whites set to discover fate of Arsenal star Jack Whilshere
JACK Wilshere’s future at Arsenal should be settled by the end of this week.
Owen Coyle has waited patiently for news of the England Under-21 midfielder, who he aims to bring back to the Reebok on loan.
Newcastle United and West Ham are also in the hunt – but the Wanderers boss remains very much the front-runner after nurturing the young playmaker in his first team at the end of last season. Arsenal are currently on a pre-season training camp in Austria, where Arsene Wenger is drawing up plans for another assault on the title.

Arsenal Set for £45m Barcelona Bid for Cesc Fabregas: Final Offer from La Liga Giants
A succession of the Spanish champions’ players – including captain Carles Puyol, defender Gerard Pique and Lionel Messi – have gone public to fuel speculation that Fabregas, who left Catalunya for London as a 16 year-old, wishes to return to the club he supported as a child.
Barcelona have already had one bid, worth around £30 million, rejected by Arsenal and have dismissed suggestions that their new president, Sandro Rosell, would travel to London today to present a second offer of £38 million. Instead, the Catalan side insist they are determined to maintain “good relations” with Fabregas’s current employers.
Sources believe Barcelona, who stand more than £400 million in debt and were forced to seek a loan to pay players’ wages last month, have around £45 million set aside to sign Fabregas.
The player said he hoped to leave Arsenal at the start of the summer but has since suggested he would be happy to remain in England.
Arsenal slap €60million price-tag on Fabregas
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Gunners are demanding a whopping €60 million for their captain.
Arsenal keeper Szczesny not interested in new loan

Arsenal to Complete £7.5m Signing of Italian International Sebastian Giovinco
There appears to be a strong chance that Arsene Wenger is about to clinch a deal to sign Juventus’s highly rated attacking midfielder Sebastian Giovinco. Many sources are claiming the Italian is about to make his move from Turin to north London after being told by his new boss Luigi Delneri that he is not part of his first team plans.
Apparently a deal is on the table for as little as £7.5m, which in today’s market is something of a bargain. The Serie A side are looking to offload many of their large squad as quickly as possible as the new manager looks to bring in new additions to his misfiring Juventus squad.
Arsene Wenger is known to be a big admirer of the pint sized performer who is looking to make the move to the Premier League side in the hope that he can re-ignite his flagging career.

England chief Brooking wants Arsenal, Everton to loan best kids to Premiership rivals
England technical chief Sir Trevor Brooking says the Premier League's best youngsters need to be playing at a higher level.
Brooking believes loaning players to League One and Two clubs is counterproductive.
He said: "To get first-team experience some of them will be sent out on loan to Football Leagues One and Two where the chance to play the passing way isn't always there.
"These players need to go to clubs where they are going to keep passing the ball even when they're under pressure.
"Jack Rodwell at Everton, Phil Jones at Blackburn and Arsenal's Jack Wilshere, who went out on loan to Bolton - we need more of those playing regularly in the Premier League, but we can't tell the clubs who to select.
"It would be great if we could drop a blanket over them and play them all in the same Championship team together for the next three years. That would be exciting.
"I know that would never happen. But that's the sort of thing you'd love to be able to do.

Sol Campbell 'in no man's land' over new Arsenal contract - Arsene Wenger
Arsene Wenger has admitted he remains in the dark over defender Sol Campbell's prospects for spending another year at Arsenal, with Newcastle and Celtic interested in acquiring him on a free transfer.
The veteran, who turns 36 in September, has been offered a one-year contract with the Gunners for next season after impressing on a short-term deal in the second half of the 2009/10 campaign.
However, Magpies manager Chris Hughton has followed Bhoys boss Neil Lennon in courting Campbell's representatives over a deal for the 2010/11 season.
And Wenger revealed he is still unsure where Campbell's future lies - especially as the former England international is away on his honeymoon after getting married at the weekend.
"Campbell is still in no-man's land at the moment," Wenger told Arsenal TV Online, before also referring to fellow defenders Mikael Silvestre and William Gallas.
"At the moment none of them have signed again for us.
"There is nothing special to say about that [but] I believe that Gallas and Silvestre will sign somewhere else."
The latest speculation suggests Gallas, 32, is in talks with Greek side Panathinaikos over a long-term deal, while former Manchester United stalwart Silvestre, also 32, is still on the lookout for a new club.

Real Madrid prepared to sweeten Ashley Cole deal by offering Kaka to Chelsea - report
Real Madrid are prepared to break Chelsea's resolve to keep Ashley Cole by offering Brazil superstar Kaka in exchange, according to The Mirror.
The England World Cup 2010 left back is understood to be determined to leave the country due to the press attention following his split from wife, Cheryl. After bringing him to the Blues in 2006, new Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho is reported to be ready to seize the chance to have a reunion with the former Arsenal player.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has declared he has no intention of letting Cole go even for a reported £30 million. This position could be weakened, however, if Kaka was sent to Stamford Bridge in an exchange.
The attacking midfielder endured a debut campaign of disappointment at the Bernabeu after suffering a decline in form and fitness. Ancelotti brough the best out of the £56 million signing at AC Milan and could be tempted by the opportunity bringing the best out of him again.

Rangers have agreed a deal in principle with Liverpool over the sale of defender Danny Wilson.
Ibrox chief executive Martin Bain insists the move will net the club £2m, rising to £5m with on add-ons linked to games played.
Wilson was absent from the squad that left Glasgow on Tuesday for Rangers' pre-season tour in Australia, which was attributed to a hamstring problem.
The 18-year-old centre-back turned down an offer to remain at Ibrox.
