Andrey Arshavin's agent expects the Russian to stay at Arsenal for the rest of his career after denying talk he wants to join Barcelona.
The 28-year-old playmaker admitted earlier this week that he would relish the opportunity to play for the 2009 Europan champions.
He had previously been linked with a move to Camp Nou in the summer of 2008, before eventually joining the Gunners from Zenit St Petersburg the following January.
But Arshavin's representative Dennis Lachter has now assured supporters that it would take a 'dramatic' turn of events for him not to stay at Emirates Stadium until he hangs up his boots.
Lachter admits that Arshavin might have to consider his future if manager Arsene Wenger were to leave the club.
"Unless something extraordinarily dramatic happens, he will finish his career at Arsenal," Lachter said in the Daily Telegraph.
"Andrey staying depends on one man.
"We would like to know that Arsene Wenger will be at Arsenal next season."

Rumour No. 1: Spurs fans might want to look away now. Manchester United are mooted to be plotting a £25 million raid for Tottenham’s Croatian playmaker Luka Modric in the summer.
As well as the White Hart Lane faithful, the proposed deal may also be bad news for one Michael Carrick – for whom Modric is being targeted as a direct replacement.
But all is not lost! ‘Arry Redknapp is apparently a huge fan of the some-time England midfielder and may insist that he is used as a makeweight in a part-exchange deal. Hmmm…

Arsene Wenger is expected to bring in a new keeper for Arsenal in the summer following some erratic displays by Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski , which have cast doubts over their long-term futures at the Emirates Stadium.
Romero is looking for a move to a bigger club and played against Arsenal twice in the Champions League this season in the group stage as Dutch side AZ drew 1-1 at home and lost 4-1 away to the Gunners.
The 23-year-old recently hinted at a move, saying, "My career has gone very well in Holland but I came to Europe to play in the biggest leagues and I will soon be ready to move.
He is contracted to AZ until the end of season 2011/2012 and is expected to be Argentina’s number one at the World Cup. However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said yesterday that he will look to make his summer signings before the World Cup, rather than see prices rise artificially after the tournament.

Arsenal Lead Chase to Sign £10m Serie A Centre Back
Arsene Wenger is ready to beat a plethora of interested parties to snap up Roma defender Philippe Mexes. The Arsenal boss is looking to bring in new defensive options to replace aging or soon to be out of contract members of his Emirates squad and is hoping to persuade French international Mexes to make the move to north London.
The 28 year old former Auxerre man is now in his sixth season at the Stadio Olimpico and has been a key member of Claudio Ranieri’s title challenge but sources suggest that the lanky centre back is ready to leave the club if they fail to overhaul perennial Serie A champions Inter Milan. The new Roma boss has on occasion overlooked the experienced Toulouse born man and this has led to many believing a move could be on the cards.
Wenger is ready to offload veteran defenders William Gallas, Mikel Silvestre and Sol Campbell as he looks to inject a younger look to his back line and whilst Mexes is in his late twenties he is extremely fit and has the physical stature to suit the Premier League.
Mexes has a year left to run on his contract and many clubs have expressed an interest in making a move for the Roma man, not least Arsenal’s arch rivals Tottenham.

Arsenal’s Wenger confirms transfer talks have commenced
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed the he has begun transfer talks in a bid to strengthen his squad.
The Gunners have failed to gain any silverware in the past four seasons and the Frenchman is hoping to bring in some fresh faces during the summer.
He confirmed to Arsenal’s Matchday Programme that things were already underway in regards to transfer discussions.
“I have definite transfer targets and I have been talking to people but I will not tell you to who," he said.
"I believe the earlier you settle your team the better it is and the less anxiety you have.
"Overall I feel it is very dangerous to buy on (the strength of) the tournament, because sometimes there are players who are fresh and have not played the whole season.
"Everyone can have three weeks of glory as a football player. Ten years is a bit different."

Arsenal favourites to land former French international
Arsenal - Sebastien Frey could be coming to the Emirates
Arsenal are reportedly in pole position to land former French international keeper Sebastien Frey.
The Fiorentina stopper is wanted by a string of clubs both in England and abroad, but the Italian media now place Arsenal as the favourites for his signature.
Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich are also being linked with the 30-year-old, who has built a reputation as one of the finest keepers in europe with continuous top level performances in Serie A.
The former Cannes stopper left his homeland in 1998, moving to Internazionale as a teenager. He spent three seasons at the San Siro, although one of those was on loan at Verona.
A 2001 switch to Parma first brough Frey to prominence outside of Italy, and he made well over 100 appearances at the Stadio Ennio Tardini before moving to the Viola, originally on a season long loan before making it permanent in 2006.
An immediate hit at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, Frey made his debut for France in 2007 against Ukraine. Only one more cap followed before the keeper announced his international retirement, with coach Raymond Domenech constantly over-looking the keeper despite constant calls from the French media for Frey to start for Les Bleus.
At club level though, Frey's ability has never been in question. With Arsene Wenger thought to be looking for a new number one at the Emirates, Italian website Tutto Mercato place the Gunners as favourites to land the Frenchman.
The north London club will have to part with close to €10 million to bring the talented stopper to the Premier League, and Wenger might have to dig into his newly found financial pot to land Frey.

Is Jack Rodwell a Target for Arsenal?
If the reports in various media outlets are to be believed, Arsenal is apparently interested in Everton's Jack Rodwell.
He certainly fits the profile of a typical Arsenal signing, but I sincerely doubt it, as I think he would cost too much for a player of his age and limited experience. We have plenty of inexperience and promise, but I'm sure the boss knows we need a few players who are in their prime, have experience, and have reached their potential.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo hints at changing clubs again
Portuguese only moved to Spain from United last summer
Former Manchester United midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo could be prepared to leave Real Madrid after admitting that he does not believe in staying with any particular club for a long period of time.
Real were able to acquire the Portuguese international from United for a world record £80 million transfer fee last summer.
However, with Real crashing out of the Champions League early this season and trailing Barcelona in the race for the Primera Division title, Ronaldo could be looking to change clubs again.
“Football is all about cycles,” Ronaldo told The Daily Star.
“I believe that you are in teams for cycles. If you have already won everything with a team, you have to change – and that’s what happened to me with United.
“I wanted a different football and different goals, and I am very happy to have taken this decision."
The 25-year-old spent six seasons with United before moving to Real, and Ronaldo insists that the Spanish giants will not be the last club he plays for.
“Alex Ferguson understood my decision and I continue to talk to him.
“I spent several years wanting to play in Madrid, but I don’t see myself here at 40. You are in teams for cycles.”

Manchester United Set for Audacious £20m Real Madrid Move
Real Madrid are preparing to spark another summer transfer battle with Manchester United by launching a £20million move for Patrice Evra.
The Spanish giants are determined to land a left back this summer after identifying former Liverpool player Alvaro Arbeloa as the weak link in a defence that has conceded 50 per cent more goals than Barcelona in 34 La Liga games this season.
Bernabeu director general Jorge Valdano has identified a number of candidates – including Arsenal’s Gael Clichy, Chelsea’s Ashley Cole and Fiorentina’s Juan Manuel Vargas – but Evra is said to have jumped to the top of the list on the recommendation of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson reluctantly allowed Ronaldo to leave United for Madrid in a world record £80m deal last summer, but he will not want to lose another of his star players.
However, sources in France claim that Evra could be tempted by a new challenge after winning about as much as he could have dreamed of since leaving Monaco four-and-a-half years ago.
The 28-year-old, under contract till 2013, has enjoyed three Barclays Premier League triumphs, three Carling Cups and Champions League success in 2008.
Evra and Ronaldo were close friends and United and the France defender recently defended his former team-mate against detractors who accused the Portugal star of arrogance.
Arbeloa has been a regular starter for Madrid this season, with former left back Marcelo playing further up the field because of worries over his defensive abilities

Sergio Aguero will lead the Atletico Madrid attack tonight well aware that he could be back in England for good this summer if his club decide to cash in on the player they signed threeand- a-half years ago as a 17-year-old.
He even appeared to be getting his excuses in early to his adoring supporters this week when he said that he would be doing the club a favour if he was to move on for a massive fee.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Inter Milan are all reported to be showing an interest in Ashley Cole with a view to a summer swoop.
Speculation over the future of Cole continues to mount and the trio are all waiting in the wings should the defender look to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer.
Cole has just returned to full fitness and Chelsea will be loathe to let him go but rumours suggest the England international will ask to leave after the World Cup with Barca favourites to land him.
The European champions are keen to sign a new left-back and will target Cole, while there have also been suggestions that Blues target Dani Alves could move in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

Arsenal & Manchester United Go Head to Head for £12m Midfield Maestro: Steven Defour Ready for Premier League Move
Standard Liege captain Steven Defour is set to become the subject of a bidding war between Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger. The Belgian international’s season has been hampered by injury and as a result his side has struggled to keep up with Belgian pacesetters Anderlecht and found themselves an astonishing 30 points behind the leaders before the league went into the play-off stages.
Manchester United boss Ferguson made no secret of his interest in the 22 year old midfielder and even sent the youngster a letter encouraging Defour as he recovered from a long term knock. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is also a big fan and sees the talented midfielder as just the type of player who could improve his Emirates squad.
A number of other Premier League sides have expressed an interest in the intelligent ball winner but United and Arsenal are in the driving seat and Standard Liege may feel that they have little hope of trying to keep Defour at the club and will instead look to cash in on their prized asset.

Manchester United May Consider Move for £22m Premier League Goal Machine
Sir Alex Ferguson is reportedly considering making a move for Sunderland’s in form marksman Darren Bent. The Old Trafford boss is known to be looking at potential attacking additions to help share the goalscoring burden with Wayne Rooney and the Manchester United manager may deem the former Tottenham man as a worthy purchase.
The England international has gone from strength to strength since being frozen out of White Hart Lane by Harry Redknapp. The 26 year old has had an incredible time since arriving at the Stadium of Light netting 24 Premier League goals, more than half Sunderland’s total for the season.
Steve Bruce will not be keen on selling such a crucial member of his Black Cats squad but the £22m rated front man would surely be excited by any such interest in his services. Bent knows that a move to any side in the top six would help secure him a regular spot in the national team set up and the Ipswich born striker is keen to prove himself at the highest level.

Chelsea Man Considering Sensational £20m Move to Manchester City
Roberto Mancini will attempt an audacious swoop to bring Chelsea left back Ashley Cole to Eastlands this summer. The England international has reportedly been upset at the way he has been treated by Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti following his alleged extra marital affairs and this could spark a melee for the former Arsenal man.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are also both considering moves for the 29 year old only returned from a lengthy spell out on the weekend. The Manchester City boss is ready to make an attractive bid in the region of £20m to secure Cole’s services and whilst Chelsea will be loathed to accept any bid for the defender they may also feel that there is no point in keeping a player who is supposedly unhappy at the club.
Clearly Ashley Cole is no stranger to controversial transfers and would presumably not think twice about making a move to a Premier League rival if indeed he feels hard done by. Manchester City boss Mancini is looking to bring in new faces this summer and believes the capture of talented left back would be quite a coup and one that would further push their case as genuine Premier League title candidates.

Man uniteds 5 worst strikers ever!
Massimo Taibi – £4.4m for the Italian goalkeeper, and a joke of a goalie he was as well. How he ended up letting that ball go through, in what looked like a very awkward position, from a speculative Matt Le Tissier shot is beyond me. This led to him being nicknamed the ‘Blind Venetian.’ He ended up playing four times for United before all concerned realised the signing was a mistake…
Diego Forlan – it makes sense that he was labeled ‘Diego Forlorn’ when he left! This guy took 27 matches and eight months to score his first goal, and he was supposed to be a real prospect when he arrived at Old Trafford for £7m. He went on to only score 10 goals in 63 Premier League games, and was eventually released after two seasons at the club.
Eric Djemba-Djemba – a replacement for Roy Keane? In what sense? I’d be surprised if Keane didn’t make Djemba-Djemba clean his boots. His weaknesses were highlighted even more by the fact that he was signed when United were going through a transition period and players like him just made the task harder. No doubt he tried hard, but shouldn’t have been brought in the first place.
Dion Dublin – the striker scored two goals in two seasons and appeared so infrequently that he twice missed out on Premiership medals after failing to play the 10 games required to gain one. Whilst he had success elsewhere, United was too big a step for Dublin.
Juan Sebastian Veron – this was a tough one, because he did have some contribution in United’s European matches. Anyway, Veron’s £28m fee looks even more like a waste of money when you see how he destabilised the team. He forced Paul Scholes out of his favoured position (to play as a support striker), struggled with the pace of the English game, produced no way near the standard of performance he did for Argentina and Lazio and generally looked out of place. When you let a rival club pay half of what Sir Alex Ferguson paid for him, than you know you’re glad to sell him.

Fabregas has a better range of passing and football brain, but Modric has great feet and balance, with an ability to take people on, which is sorely lacking at the moment in United's midfield. He'd actually be wonderful playing in Gigg's usual role, just in that pocket behind Rooney.

MOYES BACKED BY CAHILL
Tim Cahill admits he is not surprised that Everton manager David Moyes has been linked with other clubs.
The Scot has earned rave reviews for his work since taking charge at Goodison Park in 2002.
He has helped the Toffees regularly challenge for European qualification despite not having the spending power of some of his rivals.
Moyes has dismissed rumours suggesting that he could one day succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, saying he remains committed to Everton.
And Cahill is delighted that Moyes is planning to stay after coming through a tricky period earlier this season.
Reflecting on the speculation about Moyes moving elsewhere, the Australian midfielder told Sky Sports News: "It's a compliment to himself and the club for what they have achieved, and it reflects what he has done as a manager.
"You can see with the players we have got and the way we respect him, when he was being questioned at the start of the season it made a lot of the players angry.
"You say to yourself that sometimes everything is just a flash in the pan, and that's why you look at some situations and you think one week you are a legend and the next week you are forgotten, so fair play to him."

Tottenham join chase for Fulham defender
Tottenham have joined Arsenal and other interested clubs in monitoring Brede Hangeland the highly rated Fulham defender. Tottenham have issues with consistent injuries to both Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate and it is no surprise to see Harry Redknapp looking to strengthen his back line.
More often than not this season Spurs have been without both King and Woodgate and they are left with just Michael Dawson and Sebastien Bassong left fit and having 50% of your centre backs consistently injured is not a tenable long term solution and a player like Hangeland would be viewed as a perfect answer.
Fulham however are simply not interested in selling as Arsenal have previously found out and it will need a premium fee in order to persuade the Fulham bosses to let go of one of their best assets. Tottenham certainly have the money to finance a deal for Hangeland, question is are they prepared to pay what Fulham would want for the defender.

Wenger reveals Arsenal on brink of major signing
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed they're on the brink of one major signing.
The Frenchman refused to name any targets but he did reveal he would “certainly” bring in a new face before the tournament begins in South Africa on June 11.
“We have a basic squad and I believe in the squad I have,” he told arsenal.com. “But if I can make an addition – two or three maximum – then we will do it.
“I will try to do what I want to do as quickly as possible but I am not the only decider. It doesn’t only depend on me.
“Ideally, you would want to do the job before the World Cup. It is difficult to give yourself the right timing.
“Certainly, we will announce one player before the World Cup. After that we will see.”

Arsenal Boss Wants to Sign £15m Serie A Striker: Arsene Wenger Targets Argentine Mauro Zarate
Arsene Wenger is reportedly weighing up a move for Lazio striker Mauro Zarate and hopes to take advantage of the uneasy relationship between the Argentine and the Serie A side in order to pick up a bargain. The former Birmingham City loanee has continually been linked with a move to the Emirates and a move back to the Premier League seems a distinct possibility given the problems the 23 year old is having at the Stadio Olimpico.

Crazy never stops and neither does Andrei/ey Arshavin's official website Q&A. Why is he wearing a boy scout uniform? Because he's too good for your stupid normal people clothes. Set your mind to weird as we jump back in the goo...
1. From svetik2592
Andrey, do you have close friends among the football players?
Arshavin: And not only among football players.
Most of them are imaginary, though. And Bendtner isn't one of them. Haha Bendtner!
2. From saharOK
Hi Andrey! Has it ever happened to you that you go to the bathroom in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror and make compliments to yourself???)))))
Arshavin: I have such narrow eyes in the morning that it’s difficult to open them, so I find it difficult even to make out myself in the mirror in the early hours.
He's like a newborn meerkat every time he wakes up.
3. From Dgozzi
You know, some people say that people who have dimples on the cheeks were kissed by an angel. And some people say that people with dimples are selfish and self-absorbed. What do you think of these opinions and which one suits you better? Thanks in advance for your reply!
PS: You're a really cool footballer! Good luck to you all!
Arshavin: If I say that an angel kissed me, this would mean that I'm selfish. If I say that I’m selfish it would mean that it’s true. Well, these two questions actually intersect at this point so whatever my answer is I’ll be selfish anyway ;)
Andrei Arshavin sees right through the circular logic of your question.
4. From 10101993
Do you know that your wife is an angel! How can you not be jealous at all? You know, even I'm jealous when somebody starts talking about you, or the National team, so ... well, give Julia my regards ;)
Arshavin: I am glad that you have such an opinion about my wife. Actually, Julia does not give me reasons to be jealous.
Because I keep her locked in an outhouse behind our home most of the day.
5. From Rattenfanger
Andrey, do you know that some football fans write erotic stories about you with other members of your club? What do you think about this?
Arshavin: They can write whatever they want. It's up to other members. The main thing is they don’t touch my body parts ;)
Well if they're writing erotic stories about you and your teammates I think that might be their ultimate goal. Also, please don't ever send us your erotic tales of Arshavin. I really don't need the mental scarring they would cause.
6. From Footballka
Question: What do you think about music and volleyball? What is better in your opinion? I’m not your fan, just a girl who likes the way you play and your talent. Regards to your family. Your daughter is so cute and your son is so funny.))) Aliyah from Saratov.
Arshavin: Music or volleyball? I don’t know. Maybe, painting, or roller-skating?
What kind of mind games are you playing, Aliyah? Music or volleyball? What? Not his fan but you like what he does and you know all about his children? Ahhhh I think I'm having an aneurysm!
10. From Kam1la
Hi, Andrey!
Everything went wrong in my life. I’ve nearly lost the closest person in my life because of his girlfriend. We are not on good terms with her and that’s why my beloved brother drifts apart from me. I do not know what to do. Would you step over your pride in order not to lose your close one? Thanks in advance, it is very important to me .. I wish you all the best ...
Arshavin : I think that in this case, your pride should be stacked away. A close person is a person who is dear to you; perhaps, he did a lot of good for you? So, I think that it is better to temporally lose your pride, than to lose a close person for a much longer period of time.
What's wrong with these people? Last week we had the girlfriend who cuts her wrists over dear Andrey and the shopgirl who suffered years of guilt over keeping his rubles. Now we have Kam1la requesting desperate relationship advice. From a footballer in a boy scout uniform.

As did all of you weirdos.

Andrey, hello! My name is Olga and I'm almost 14 years old. I love you and I don’t know what to do! Well, what would you say to this?

Lookout, Andrey! I think it's Chris Hansen! Do not go to Olga's house with condoms and wine coolers!
3. From 1234Ann
I would like to find out: when I grow up I want to buy a football club, the only thing is I’m a girl. Do you think I’ll manage to become a good coach?
P . S.: Thanks in advance! Wish you good luck !!!!!!!!!!)))))))
Arshavin: If you have the kind of money that will allow you to buy a football club, then you won’t have to waste your nerves, working as a coach :)
Of course, since you're a girl, Arshavin doesn't think you have the potential to amass such a fortune or comprehend football, so neither option is at all possible, 1234Ann.
7. From votincev
Andrey! What is love to Saint-Petersburg? I’m not from St. Petersburg but I love this city all the same…. Do you miss it?
Arshavin: It is a lot of things, like being useful to your city ….If you can explain to me what love is, I'll be able to explain to you what love to St. Petersburg is ..
Andrei does not understand this "love" you speak of or any other human emotions. He is also confused about where babies come from. He's pretty sure they pop out of a tree behind Julia's padlocked outhouse.
10. From d1zz
Andrey ...vodka or beer?
Arshavin: Juice for me.
Juice is beer, vodka, and breast milk mixed with Kool-Aid powder and maple syrup. Juice for him, indeed.
14. From SalamanDra
Tell me, when you wake up, do you get immediately out of bed or do you look at the ceiling before you get up?)))
Arshavin: It depends on the position I wake up in.
Statements like that make the erotic fiction almost too easy, Andrei.

I couldn’t take it any longer, got out of the car and began to give him light with my phone (it was already dark). Spurs or City will not make it past the group stages of the Champions League...
If Fulham win the Europa aswell, Burnley also got into it next season. There has been some new rule created where the 'fair play' team (the team with the least cards in a season) goes into the Europa, and Fulham have the least cards so will go into it if they get beat by Atletico, but if they do win the final then Burnley go into the Europa with the others ('cos they're second to Fulham).

We really need to sort our squad and backroom out this summer or we're not gonna get top 4 again for some time. We need to keep hold of Torres, Gerrard, Mascherano, Agger, Reina, Johnson, and Lucas. Carragher is my favourite player but he's expendable now... wouldn't let him go unless we were getting quite a bit though and I doubt we would cos of his age.

The crowd really haven't took to him. I was at the Fulham game a few weeks ago when he played and everyone was complaining.... I didn't think he played too bad either.
Liverpool are not as good as they think they are and it has been like that for the past 20 years now there are teams now who are at the same standard as liverpool ( or who would be if liverpool didn't have the likes of torres and gerrard ) think torres will be gone in the summer anyway.. Tottenham, City and Villa all deserve to finish above liverpool if everton didn't start the season so badly they would be above them now they can't even reach the europa league final and that says it all really considering fulham are in the final with a harder run against Hamburg, Juventus, Shakhtar Donetsk and wolfsburg..
Liverpool are a sacrifice the premiership needed for the top 4 to be broken and it's justice really for all the scummy things they have done in the past

Manchester United Consider Ambitious Move for £24m Dutch Master
Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to switch his attentions from one Bayern Munich star for another. The Manchester United boss has been furiously chasing French international Franck Ribery for the best part of a year but are apparently more interested in bringing in former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben.
The 26 year old Dutch international has been in incredible form this season scoring 20 goals as he helped the German side to within touching distance of a German title (only an incredible series of results can prevent Bayern Munich taking the Bundesliga crown) and a Champions League final against Inter Milan.
After spending two seasons at the Bernabeu where he did his best to prove himself to a succession of managers, Louis Van Gaal elected to snap up the former PSV man for £24m, one of the first signings the Bayern manager completed.

Alex Ferguson: ‘I’d Sign Cristiano Ronaldo For £60m’
Sir Alex Ferguson says the only way he would spend a serious amount of money on a single player would be to re-sign former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The United boss says the inflated price of players in the transfer market does not give a reflection of their true value and that he would not spend over the odds in the summer – except in buying back C-Ron.
“It’s not my way to buy a player for £60m,” Fergie said. “There’s no point pursuing that argument. I would not contemplate signing a player for that amount.”
When asked if he would pay £60m for Barcelona star Lionel Messi, Ferguson answered: “No. I’d pay £60m to take Cristiano Ronaldo back. But that’s it.”
I suspect Ronaldo misses a lot of things about United – when I watch him in action for Madrid, he looks on a different wavelength to all his team-mates, and his body language bespeaks a man who is not content.

Wenger tells Arsenal fans to trust him on transfer policy
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has told fans to trust him over their summer market plans.
Wenger has a sizeable budget for new additions - still having not spent the majority of last summer's income from the £37million sales of Emmanuel Adebayor and Kolo Toure to Manchester City - the Arsenal boss called for supporters to be patient as the Gunners are linked with a string of names.
"They have to trust us. Historically we have done well on the transfer market," said Wenger.
"Last summer we bought Thomas Vermaelen, nobody knew about him and now he is in the team of the year, so they just have to keep faith in what we do.
"As always we will try to be intelligent, sensible and take care of this club in the right way."

Liverpool Boss Close to Completing £18m Deal: What Will Rafa Do?
DUBAI International Capital are closing in on a £500million buy-out of Liverpool as manager Rafa Benitez prepares to join Juventus.
It will be all change at Anfield over the coming weeks with unpopular American owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks relinquishing control and the club being forced to find a new boss.
In fact, the search for a new manager is already under way, with high-ranking Liverpool officials aware that Benitez has verbally agreed to join Serie A side Juventus at the end of the season on a £4.5m four-year deal.
Now it’s just a case of the Italians agreeing compensation with Liverpool for Benitez to end his * six-year reign on Merseyside.
There will also be a major upheaval in the boardroom with DIC, the investment arm of Dubai’s ruling family led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the front runner in the process to agree a deal with Gillett and Hicks.
DIC attempted to purchase the club in 2007 when major shareholder David Moores declared he was open to offers but then former chief executive Rick Parry recommended a sale to the Americans.
They were also in negotiations a year later to buy Gillett’s 50 per cent shareholding only for talks to break down.
Now it could be third time lucky for Sheikh Mohammed, a regular visitor to this country through his passion for horse racing.
DIC will also commit funds to build the much-anticipated new ground and make a considerable sum of money available for transfers.
Prominent in the discussions is DIC chief and self-confessed Liverpool fan Sameer Al Ansari.

Wenger beats the drum as Arsenal target third place
Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has called on his team to finish the season in style and secure the third-place finish that will ensure automatic qualification into next season's Champions League.
The Gunners travel to Blackburn today knowing victory will put them out of reach of fourth-placed Tottenham while even a draw should be enough, given Wenger's side superior goal difference to their neighbours.
"We want to win," Wenger maintained. "I will play the team that I think is most efficient and balanced to win the game. To be faithful to what we have done during the season it is important that we finish well, first to be in the top three, then be as close as possible to the top teams. There is still an outside chance they will drop points and that means we can finish within maybe five points of them."

Spurs hero Redknapp: Arsenal kid Wilshere is real deal
Tottenham hero Jamie Redknapp admits he's a fan of Arsenal youngster Jack Wilshere.
On-loan at Bolton Wanderers, Wilshere again shone in their 1-0 defeat at Tottenham on Saturday.
Redknapp told the Daily Mail: "Jack Wilshere showed he is definitely Premier League class in north London on Saturday. The 18-year-old, on loan to Bolton from Arsenal, was cool and composed on the ball in the defeat at Tottenham. He's still slight of build but I wonder if Arsene Wenger will now consider his apprenticeship over and graduate him to the first-team squad at the Emirates."

Arsenal boss Wenger rules out move for Blackburn starlet Phil Jones
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for young Blackburn defender Phil Jones ahead of the clash between the two clubs this afternoon.
Blackburn pair Jones and Steven NZonzi were linked with moves to Arsenal last week and the Gunners are almost certain to bring in defenders in the summer.
Wenger said on Jones: "He's had a few good games but we've not made an inquiry about him, I think he is a good player – but not yet. He needs to play longer to really assess him."
On his transfer plans this summer, the Arsenal manager added: "As always we will try to be intelligent, sensible and take care of this club in the right way. One or two will go out, which happens every year, but the first target is to keep the squad together."
Phil Jones has impressed in his seven Premier League appearances in 2009/2010. Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce said any offer would have to be "rather large" for him to sell the 18-year-old.

One defender Arsenal have no problem signing on dotted line
Arsenal are about to offer veteran defender Sol Campbell a one year extension to his contract keeping at The Emirates for one more season. Arsenal manager has been impressed enough with Campbell’s performances both off the field as well as on and will utilise the former England International as a back up to the first team.
Campbell is in his second spell at Arsenal and while some raised eyebrows when Wenger gave Campbell a second chance, the big Englishman has proven his critics right and justified Wenger’s confidence in him.
That said Wenger is still looking high and low for a decent centre back to partner Thomas Vermaelen and he has no intention of using Campbell as a first team player unless absolutely necessary and in all fairness to Wenger, having Campbell as a back up is no bad thing.
All Wenger needs to work on now is securing another old boy, William Gallas to an extension and then the Frenchman will have two back ups for his defence, two very experienced back ups at that.

Arsenal forward Arshavin: "I am going to Barcelona in the summer"
Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has sensationally claimed that he will be joining Barcelona in the summer and that left back Gael Clichy will also join him at the Nou Camp.
Last week Arshavin said "Even playing just one season for Barcelona would make a pinnacle of my whole career."
In the following days the Russian was rebuked by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger but The People have carried further quotes where the attacking midfielder says he will be playing at Barcelona next season.
Arshavin told The People: "I am going to Barcelona in the summer. I have always dreamed about going to Spain and playing for the best team in the world. They were unsure about me when I was playing in Russia but I have shown them that I'm the real deal and I know they are ready to talk to me."
The Arsenal forward added: "I want to play for the top team and be trying to win every competition, I don't think you can rate one better than the other, it is all about winning. I want to play for them and that is never going to change."
The former Zenit St Petersburg playmaker added that Arsenal full back Gael Clichy is also eager to move to Barcelona. Arshavin: "I know Gael Clichy would love to play out there as well, and he would work well in their team. It would be tough trying to compete with Xavi and Iniesta but that is the competition I want, I don't want to walk into a team."
Andrey Arshavin has made 36 appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: Chelsea's Joe Cole is an interesting target
Gunners boss could make shock move for England star...
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has declared his interest in signing Chelsea midfielder Joe Cole this summer.
Cole's contract at Stamford Bridge is up at the end of the season and has reportedly attracted interest from Manchester United and old club West Ham United.
And Wenger admitted he is watching Cole's situation closely but added that strengthening the Gunners' midfield is not a priority.
"Joe Cole is an interesting target, but do I have enough players in those positions? We shall see," said Wenger in the Daily Star Sunday.
"First of all I must say that no matter how much money you spend to find a Patrick Vieira [it is hard to do]. Since I am in England, I hear 'this is the new Patrick Vieira' when a guy is tall and strong.
"But I believe strongly that our midfield are developing very well with [Alex] Song, [Abou] Diaby and Denilson because they are young, very young, but different to Patrick Vieira.
"I believe in them because if you compare them two years ago and this year they are tremendously improved and if they continue to play together, especially with [Cesc] Fabregas, they have a good understanding.
"I believe the midfield was not a problem this year because we created so many chances from midfield and we dominated nearly all the games in midfield. I don't think we had a big problem in there. I believe we had a problem of efficiency defensively."

Arsenal Consider Summer Bid to Sign £22m Goal Machine: Wenger Wants Ajax Hotshot Luis Suarez
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has reportedly placed Ajax striker Luis Suarez at the top of his summer wish list as he looks to bring in new striking talent to the Emirates. The Uruguayan international has been an incredible success in the Dutch Eredivisie since arriving at Groningen in the summer of 2006.
The 23 year old has helped Ajax to within reach of their first domestic title in six seasons and is sure to be a target of many of Europe’s elite but the north London club apparently wish to arrange a deal before Suarez flies out to the World Cup where he could attract even more interest.
Having managed an amazing 45 goals in 46 matches this season and a total of 98 goals in a little under three seasons at Ajax. The Gunners are looking to broaden their options up front after seeing an injury crisis earlier in the season deeply affect their title chase.
Marouane Chamakh is set to join the club in the summer and the likes of Carlos Vela and Eduardo have been linked with moves away from Arsenal. Wenger is hoping to splash the cash and has been promised significant funds to help rebuild his squad and end their five season silverware drought.
Wow, big player, okay hes not playing in a great league.. but seriously his strike rate is better than the likes of messi ronaldo and rooney.
Im sure wenger could develop him into a massive talent and playign alongside rvp and fabregas hes sure to score.

£20 million Karim Benzema Is Manchester United's Top Summer Target - Report
The Frenchman could be getting ready to leave Real Madrid after only one season...
Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has emerged as Manchester United's top summer transfer target.
According to the News of the World, Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to offer £20million-plus to land the French forward.
United were long-time admirer's of the former Lyon starlet, only to be beaten to the punch by Real Madrid in the same transfer window that saw the Red Devils lose Christiano Ronaldo.
With Benzema failing to make an impact at the Bernabeu, Ferguson is looking to add the striker to his ranks.
United chief executive David Gill confirmed funds would be available.
"I can look you in the eye and tell you straight that we have the transfer funds available to the manager," Gill said.
"Targets have been discussed already, as you'd expect, but it's not our style to talk about names and it never will be."

Eduardo 'Disappointed' By Season For Arsenal
Croatian striker still yet to hit goalscoring form two years after horror injury
Arsenal striker Eduardo admits he has not had a season to celebrate, but feels his all-round contribution has been significant as he works towards full form and fitness two years after the compound dislocation-fracture to his lower leg that could have finished his career.
The 27-year-old has scored just six times in 31 appearances for the Gunners, many of them as a substitute - not the record of a man who once looked to have become the world-class poacher Arsene Wenger needed to restore Arsenal to winning ways.
The much-touted summer move for Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh could limit the Croatian's chances still further, possibly spelling the end of his Arsenal career, but the misfiring striker is trying to find the positives in an underwhelming season.
"I am happy because I have played in some games, but also disappointed because I missed a lot of opportunities," Eduardo told Arsenal TV Online.
"But that is normal and I have been doing very well for the team.
"Maybe I have been playing like that this season - more than a goalscorer."
One factor in Eduardo's form has been his inconsistent fitness, which has prevented him from building up a run of games, with the sharpness and confidence that brings.
He added: "I have had a couple of muscle injuries this season, and been out for a few weeks.
"So maybe my body was not ready because I had been out with a long injury and needed maybe one week more to get 100 per cent fit."
As for Arsenal's last two games, which they face with little to play for after costly slip-ups ruled them out of an error-strewn title race, Eduardo believes they will not ease up despite finding themselves seven points behind Manchester United in second and five clear of fourth-placed Tottenham.
He continued: "We are professionals and must be ready for anything in life, so we must continue to play, trying to win the game and be close to the top."

Chelsea to sign Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero for £40m - report
Chelsea are set to sign striker Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid for £40 million, according to ESPN Soccernet.
The Blues have been linked with the Argentina international on numerous occasions, with a rumoured move back in January reportedly falling through due to the high asking price demanded by Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish club seemingly wanted £50 million although could be tempted if Chelsea put a £40m offer on the table, given the club's financial difficulties.
The latest report claims, however, that the deal has already been agreed between the two sides and will apparently be made official at the end of the domestic football season in Europe.
Aguero, who lined up in the Europa League against Liverpool on Thursday but refused to be drawn on questions about his future, has recently gone on record to praise some of the Blues' stars such as Frank Lampard and described the club as one of Europe's most feared sides.

Arsenal Football Club are set to offer Gael Clichy a new contract.

However, Goal.com claim Arsene Wenger still has full confidence in the former Cannes youngster, and is prepared to offer him a new deal to remain at the Emirates Stadium.

Barcelona targets Robin Van Persie
LONDON- Speculations have surface that Barcelona has turned their attention towards signing Arsenal striker Robin Van Persie. The rumors are that Dutch international striker is high on the Blaugrana’s list of priorities for the summer.
A number of players have been mentioned as target for Barcelona during this off season, with the gunners duo of Cesc Fabregas and now Robin Van Persie heading the list of hopeful. There are also rumors suggesting that Valencia’s creative mid fielders/strikers David Villa and David Silva are needed at the Camp Nou.
It is highly unlikely that Barcelona to sign both Silva and Villa, which solidifies their bid to sign Van Persie to bolster their front line.
It will be a productive off season if Barcelona are to sign the Arsenal duo, however it is reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will not entertain any offer for his star players Fabregas and Van persie.

Arsene Wenger will break with convictions to raid Premier League for stars - report
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is better known for nuturing through youngsters than going on a spending spree, but now he's reportedly set to spend his transfer war-chest on proven Premier League stars.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Wenger has drawn up a provisional shortlist of potential summer targets.
West Ham United midfielder Scott Parker in apparently the latest name to be added to the wish-list, which already contains the likes of Manchester City’s goalkeeper Joe Hart, defensive pairing Brede Hangeland and Gary Cahill and Aston Villa midfielder James Milner.
Wenger looks set to add some much needed experience to his side and sees Parker as the perfect role-model for his young midfield charges.
“We have plenty of young players,” said Wenger. “Now we need ready-made players.”
Arsenal will look to confirm their first new signing of the summer, when Marouane Chamakh arrives from Bordeaux on a free transfer.
The Morocco international has reportedly already agreed to join the north London outfit, after the Gunners failed to land him during the January transfer window.
Wenger’s new policy is also said to see both Sol Campbell and William Gallas offered new deals at the club.

Valencia and Barcelona agree on transfer of Liverpool & Chelsea target David Villa - report
An exclusive report released by Spanish sports daily Marca claims that Valencia and Barcelona have agreed to the transfer of David Villa, Valencia's superstar striker and candidate to become the Spanish national team's all-time top scorer.
Chelsea and Liverpool had been keeping tabs on the Spanish super star but it now looks like he will remain in Spain.
According to Marca's report, the striker joins Barca at the behest of Cule coach Pep Guardiola. Barcelona were close to signing the Valencia striker last season, but the deal fell flat. Now it appears that the two sides have reached an agreement that will be made official at the end of the Liga season.
Barca president Joan Laporta wanted to close the deal before the end of his term as president and the upcoming elections, to be held on June 13. Further, the club supremo wanted to sign Villa before the World Cup, as the player's value will likely skyrocket after South Africa 2010.
Marca reports that the deal will be in the €40 million range and that two Barca players could also be included, namely Aliaksandr Hleb (currently on loan at Stuttgart) and youngster Bojan Krkic.
Villa is currently third in the Liga's Pichichi top scorer race, having netted 21 goals, six less than Barca's Lionel Messi.

Gunners braced for starlet loan bids
Bolton boss Owen Coyle is reportedly preparing to make a fresh loan swoop for Arsenal starlet Jack Wilshere ahead of Newcastle.
The Wanderers chief has been encouraged by the 18-year-old youngster's admission that he would be open for a return to the Reebok Stadium next season, if Gunners chief Arsene Wenger cannot guarantee him regular first-team action at the Emirates Stadium.
Wilshere, who signed in January, played a key part in helping Bolton retain their Premier League status and it appears Coyle would relish the prospect of having him on board for next term.
However, Newcastle, who lost out to the Trotters at the turn of the year, might feel they have a chance of luring the player to St James' Park this summer now they too are back in the top flight following their Championship title success.
Therefore it appears that Coyle will have to move quickly to try and persuade Wenger that Wilshere's football education would be enhanced with a new stint in the North West.

Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas tells friends he has agreed a deal at Barcelona - report
Barcelona are ready to make a summer move for Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas, according to a report from El Mundo Deportivo.

The only thing that now apparently remains to be sorted out is a an agreement between the Gunners and the Spanish giants.
However, Arsene Wenger is unlikley to stand in the player's way as he is well aware of his strong desire to move back to his boyhood club.
El Mundo Deportivo speculates that a fee of approximately £34 million [€40m] will be the fee in the deal, whilst Yaya Toure could move in the opposite direction.
Real Madrid, Inter and Manchester City are also reportedly considering moves for the player.
34million?
Seriously i will be pissed if we sell him for less than 45m

Man City set to beat Arsenal in battle to sign La Liga star
Arsenal who have long been linked with the Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure could find themselves outbid for his services by Manchester City now that the player has expressed his desire to leave the Nou Camp. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is known to be an admirer of Toure and on many occasions The Gunners have been rumoured to be close to deal but it is now Man City that are viewed as favourites to land the Ivory Coast International.
Toure’s agent has made it quite clear now that the player will leave Barcelona this summer and it was automatically assumed that he would be Arsenal bound but with the money that Manchester City can throw around and not just on the transfer fee but on wages as well means that Arsenal simply cannot compete and reading the agents comments it is money that appears to be the players driving force
“The player has a 90% chance of leaving Barcelona this summer,” Toure’s agent, Dimitri Selyuk said.
“Unfortunately, this season, Toure has not played as much as I would have liked. I think that this is due to a clause in his contract. He has a major financial bonus if he plays more than 60% of official matches this season.”
If Manchester City do end up bidding for Toure as the reports indicate he will team up with his elder brother and Manchester City captain Kolo Toure.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time and if these reports are to believed, his next destination will be the Emirates Stadium.
Buffon, who has won 100 caps for Italy, is expected to seal the switch to the Gunners within the next few weeks to end his nine-year stint in Turin.

Real Madrid's Lassana Diarra to join Manchester United in £21m deal - report
According to AS, Real Madrid defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra could return to the Premier League next season as Manchester United have reportedly expressed interest in signing the Frenchman and could pay nearly £20 million for his services.
After a very good start to the season, in which he was frequently compared to fellow Frenchman and ex-Blancos midfielder Claude Makelele, Diarra lost the confidence of coach Manuel Pellegrini, meaning he had fewer minutes and less importance within the team structure.
Thus, Los Blancos will reportedly attempt to sell the midfielder with the hope of cashing in on what could be a significant transfer fee.
Madrid bought Lass as a 2008 winter transfer recruit from Portsmouth and while United are said to be interested, Arsenal are also reportedly tempted to take the player back to the Emirates Stadium where he spent the 2007-08 season.
Diarra was called up to Raymond Domenech's French national team squad yesterday for participation in this summer's World Cup in South Africa.

Villa manager Martin O’Neill has taken the first step towards a summer-clear out at the club by putting six players up for sale.
Curtis Davies, Luke Young, Nigel Reo-Coker, Steve Sidwell, Nicky Shorey and Habib Beye – all of whom have struggled to hold down a place last season – have all been told they can leave if the price is right.
The six were all signed by O’Neill but endured frustrating campaigns spent mainly on the sidelines – only Sidwell and Young started more than 10 Premier League games – as the manager opted to stick largely with the same team.
News the out-of-favour group are surplus to requirements comes as no great surprise with rumours rife O’Neill will have a smaller transfer budget at his disposal this summer, which would force him to wheel and deal.
Only Young’s availability for transfer would be likely to rankle with fans, after the right-back received a standing ovation from the Villa Park crowd coming on as a substitute in Sunday’s game with Blackburn.
The former England international, signed from Middlesbrough for £6million two years ago, has controversially been forced to play second fiddle to centre-back Carlos Cuellar for the right-back position for the vast majority of the campaign.
Sidwell has failed to meet expectations since arriving from Chelsea two summers ago and has become a bit-part player, since the return to fitness of Stewart Downing paved the way for James Milner to switch to central midfield.
While Reo-Coker has only recently returned from a lengthy lay-off with an ankle injury, the former West Ham skipper’s Villa career has looked on borrowed time ever since his training-ground bust-up with O’Neill in the autumn.
Villa would be fortunate to receive half of the £8.5million they paid for the 25-year-old midfielder but they look set to make an even bigger loss on Curtis Davies, who signed a permanent deal worth up to £10million in 2008 after a season-long loan from Albion.
The centre-back was named in an England squad only last season but a shoulder injury, combined with the outstanding form of new arrivals Richard Dunne and James Collins, has left him struggling to even secure a place on the bench since returning to fitness in January.
The writing has long looked on the wall for Shorey for some time, after spending most of the campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest and Fulham.
Marlon Harewood and Freddie Bouma have already been told their contracts will not be renewed and are available on free transfers.

Manchester United are reportedly considering a shock move for AC Milan forward Marco Borriello. Sir Alex Ferguson is a big admirer of in form Italian international and is looking for an effective partner for Wayne Rooney and has earmarked the big powerful San Siro man as a potential target.
The £18m rated Naples born striker has been a member of the Rossoneri since 2002 but has spent loan spells at a number of Serie A sides during that spell but a successful stint at Genoa, where he netted 19 goals, led to his return to the AC Milan fold and he hasn’t looked back since.
This season Leonardo has put a lot of faith in the 27 year old and he has netted 14 goals this term, making him the club’s top marksman. His form this term has led to his inclusion in Marcello Lippi’s 30 man provisional World Cup squad.
Ferguson may well feel that Borriello’s physical attributes would lend themselves to a role in the Premier League and could well make him a perfect foil for England goal machine Rooney.

Arsenal have emerged as surprise front-runners for the signing of Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland.
Ireland has recently said he does not know where he will be next season and Sunderland and Liverpool have been linked with the Ireland international over the last week.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of targets since their title challenge spectacularly flopped in the last few games.
Furthermore, Barcelona are still trailing the Gunners’ captain Cesc Fabregas and are ready to bring him back to Camp Nou so a central midfielder may become a priority at the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger is expected to make wholesale changes to his defence as a matter of urgency after securing the signing of Bordeaux goal-scorer Marouane Chamakh.
Today Wenger revealed: “My transfer policy this summer will be to keep our strengths going forward, add one player, and add more defensive strength to our team.”
Wenger has been linked with Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon and a host of defenders including Matthew Upson, Brede Hangeland and Mamadou Sakho.
With Barca seriously interested in Fabregas, Arsenal could see Yaya Toure moving in the opposite direction, which would scupper any chances of Ireland playing at the Emirates next year.

Goalkeeper
Hugo Lloris (Lyon)—The French international has been in fine form this season, leading Lyon to the Champions League semi-final. Blessed with incredible reflexes and awareness, Lloris has been linked with a host of Europe’s top clubs, including Arsenal, and would be a major improvement on both Almunia and Fabianski.
Cost: ₤18m-₤25m
Likelihood of arrival: Could come, as Wenger has admitted his interest.
Igor Akinfeev (CSKA Moscow) – The Russian broke the CSKA first team aged just 18, and has since gone on to become one of Europe’s most brilliant (and underrated) ‘keepers. Linked recently with Arsenal, Akinfeev could link up with compatriot Andrei Arshavin.
Cost: ₤15m-₤20m
Likelihood of arrival: Possible.

Centre-Back
With William Gallas, Sol Campbell, and Mikael Silvestre all out of contract this Summer, and with Johan Djourou easing his way back into competition after a long injury lay-off, Arsenal’s back four is in serious need of a makeover. Wenger has admitted that Arsenal’s main problem was in defence, so here are a few options to revamp the back four.
Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus)—Juventus’ best player this season, the towering Italian was the only real standout in a bleak season for the Turin side. Having failed to qualify for the Champions League, Chiellini might be looking elsewhere after the World Cup, and his height, power, and goal threat from set pieces would all be welcome additions to the side. Could be available at a cut-price fee.
Cost: ₤15m-₤20m
Likelihood of arrival: Could be tempted by the lure of Champions League football. Quite possible.
Vincent Kompany (Manchester City)—The Belgian has made 29 Premier League appearances this season, filling in capably at centre-back and in midfield. Linked with Arsenal before joining City, Kompany has the quality, versatility and Premier League experience to succeed at Arsenal. Importantly, he would add depth in two of Arsenal’s weakest positions: centre-back and defensive midfield.
Cost: ₤8m-₤12m
Likelihood of arrival: Not linked with Arsenal, but could also be tempted by Champions League football.

Midfield
With the emergence of Alex Song in front of the back four, Arsenal’s full-strength midfield can match it with almost any in the Europe, but it is a weakness in depth that has cost Arsenal this season. Providing Wenger retains the promise of Denilson and Abou Diaby, one holding midfielder should be enough to compliment a midfield already boasting the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri, Tomas Rosicky, Jack Wilshere, and Aaron Ramsey.
Moussa Sissoko (Toulouse)—Being compared to club legend Patrick Vieira inevitably leads to being linked with Arsenal, and at just 20, Moussa Sissoko would not look out of place filling the Frenchman’s shoes. Already a French international (having been capped twice), Sissoko has already racked up a hundred league appearances with his blend of hard tackling and precise passing.
Cost: Toulouse management has slapped a €30m price tag on the youngster, but in reality he would come somewhat cheaper than that.
Likelihood of arrival: Would fit the Wenger style, but maybe not the Wenger pocket.
Yaya Toure (Barcelona)—His agent has recently admitted a move to Arsenal is an option for Kolo Toure’s younger brother. Wenger passed up the opportunity to sign him before watching the Ivorian go on to become a Champions League, Copa Del Rey and La Liga winner. Having been ousted from Pep Guardiola’s starting line-up, Toure seems eager to move. Best known as a tough-tackling midfielder in the Patrick Vieira mould, Toure has started (and won) a Champions League final at centre-back. His versatility could prove handy.
Cost: ₤8m
Likelihood of arrival: Toure’s arrival remains a distinct possibility.
Jeremy Toulalan (Lyon)—Unassuming, precise and a leader, Toulalan is exactly the kind of player Arsenal has needed for years. And he’s French too. Toulalan could form an incredible shield alongside Alex Song behind Fabregas, and his simple distribution of the ball would compliment Song’s physicality perfectly.
Cost: Lyon are notoriously hard dealers in the transfer market, so Toulalan could be as expensive as ₤20m.
Likelihood of arrival: Unlikely.

Forwards
With Robin van Persie, Andrei Arshavin, and Nicklas Bendtner all suffering from long-term injuries, and with Theo Walcott and Eduardo suffering form issues, Arsenal’s frontline has been exposed at times. Pundits everywhere have stressed the need for the arrival of a target-man capable of playing as a lone striker and finding the back of the net. Adebayor anyone?
Marouane Chamakh (Bordeaux)—Chamakh has the aerial presence and touch that has been missing in the frontline, but having scored only 10 league goals this year, there are doubts surrounding his ability to lead from the front.
Cost: Free
Likelihood of arrival: Almost certain.
Thierry Henry (Barcelona)—The return of the king? Having scored 226 goals for Arsenal and led the London club to an unbeaten season, Henry is an obvious choice to lead the frontline. Despite having just lukewarm success at Barca, he remains a threat in front of goal, especially in the central role he relished at Highbury but has been denied at Barca. Surely too good for his reported move to the MLS, Henry would be a great option to bolster a frontline already boasting van Persie, Arshavin and possibly Chamakh.
Cost: Free
Likelihood of Arrival: Possible, but unlikely.

Man Utd very close to closing £17.5 Million deal for La Liga star
The chances that Man Utd will sign Valencia’s David Silva are increasing by the day with both the Spanish media and the UK bookies convinced that the 24 year old will become Sir Alex Ferguson’s big summer signing. Silva has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all season and it now appears that the speculation in this particular case are in fact true.
Silva has been on the wanted list of some of Europe’s biggest clubs but they are all on the verge of being disappointed by the news that the Spanish International will be a Man Utd player next season, Silva has become odds on with the bookies to become a Red Devil and it is not often that the bookies get it wrong.
Silva himself has made no secret of his honour at being linked with Fergies outfit saying
“When you hear a club like Manchester United is interested in you it is an honour,”
“I am very aware of the Premier League, and in recent years it has been the stand-out league in the world.
“If it came calling, especially if it was a club like Manchester United, it would be very hard to resist.
“I am happy at Valencia but every player has his price and if they get an offer they think is good business anything is possible.”
It now all set up for Fergie who should be able to land Silva for approx £17.5 Million.

Man Utd looking to beat Spurs for AC Milan striker
Manchester United are set to go head to head with Tottenham for AC Milan’s Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has been monitoring Huntelaar for some time and is keen to take him to White Hart Lane, now however Tottenham face stiff competition from Sir Alex Ferguson who according to some reports has even offered up Dimitar Berbatov as part of a deal.
Huntelaar has made it clear he wants to leave AC Milan and for their part Milan have indicated they will listen to offers for the Dutchman so all is now set for a mini bidding war between Spurs and Man Utd, the one worry for Tottenham is that the player himself may demand a move to Old Trafford as opposed to White Hart Lane.
AC Milan will be happy enough to recoup the money they spent on Huntelaar which both Tottenham and Man Utd can easily afford and Ferguson is hoping that the lure of Berbatov may be the deciding factor for the Italians. AC Milan would still have to put some money up for Berbatov but it would be a lot less if Huntelaar was included that’s for certain.
The one silver lining for Redknapp is that the Dutchman may have had enough of joining marque clubs and after Real Madrid and AC Milan may prefer a club that offers more opportunity for playing time.
Time will tell who comes out on top in this mini battle, Sir Alex Ferguson or Harry Redknapp.

Arsenal Boss Hopes to Snap Up £8m Premier League Keeper: Wenger Ready to Bid for Manchester City’s Joe Hart
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is ready to make a big money move for Manchester City keeper Joe Hart. Arsene Wenger is reportedly desperate for new keeping alternatives to serial bunglers Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski and hopes that Roberto Mancini is ready to listen to offers in the region of £8m for the England international.
Joe Hart has just completed a great season at St Andrews’ but Alex McLeish has apparently given up hope to snaring the former Shrewsbury man on a permanent basis and is already looking at bringing in Manchester United back up Ben Foster.
The Emirates side has conceded more goals this term than in any Premier League season since 2003 and Wenger is keen to bring in the 23 year old to north London but knows that they may struggle to persuade the Eastlands outfit to allow such a talented player to join a rival side.
With Shay Given in front of him at Man City Hart knows he has his work cut out to win a regular first team spot at the club and would surely jump at the chance of a move to the north London outfit.

Barcelona presidential candidate Sandro Rosell working on deal for Liverpool's Fernando Torres - report
Barcelona president-elect Sandro Rosell has reportedly contacted Fernando Torres' representatives to enquire about the possibility of taking the Liverpool striker to the Camp Nou in the future.
The Daily Mail reports that Rosell, who is one of the leading candidates to replace Joan Laporta as Barca president this summer, has enquired about the chances of Torres being keen on a move to the Catalans and supposedly received a favourable response.
Premier League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City are also said to be in the race for Torres' signature as reports continue to link the Spain international with an Anfield exit.
Various rumours have suggested that Torres is looking for a way out of the club after a disappointing season and is seemingly unwilling to commit his future to the Reds with so much uncertainty surrounding boss Rafael Benitez and whether he will remain as manager next term.
The report goes on to suggest that the deal could hinge on Barca landing Valencia's David Villa, with Laporta supposedly hoping to seal a deal for the Los Che striker before the World Cup.
With the La Liga giants likely to be required to part with at least £35 million to acquire the services of Spain star Villa, the necessary funds to secure the signing of Torres would seemingly be unavailable if a deal was to be struck.

Are Chelsea Set to Complete £40m Deal for Liverpool Striker Torres?
Chelsea believe they are closing in on the £40m-plus signing of Fernando Torres.
Premier League champions Chelsea have already made the first steps in trying to sign the Liverpool striker this summer.
And the Chelsea hierarchy believe they can beat off opposition from Manchester City and from abroad to land the Spanish superstar.
City are also keen and willing to pay but cannot offer Champions League football.
It would be the most sensational transfer in Premier League history, setting a new record for a deal between clubs.
But Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to bankroll a huge assault on the transfer market this summer to make another attempt on the Champions League.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson forgets his table manners at Football Writers' do
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson caused widespread astonishment at the Footballer of the Year gala dinner with his negative reaction to the evening centrepiece — a Q & A session with trophy winner Wayne Rooney.
Ferguson, a top table guest of the organising Football Writers’ Association, showed real displeasure by throwing down his napkin when Rooney was asked by Sky Sports’ Jeff Stelling for his comments on United team-mate Paul Scholes turning down a late offer to play for England in the World Cup.
And for the rest of the interview Ferguson — who also didn’t like Rooney being asked to compare him with England boss Fabio Capello — could be heard at nearby tables heckling Stelling and urging him to bring a quick end to the questioning.
When the very tame Q & A, which had been introduced as Rooney preferred the format to making a speech, finished, Stelling received the hairdryer treatment from Ferguson for going on so long before he rushed off to the Les Ambassadeurs club.

Arsenal signing Chamakh questioned by French police
Arsenal signing Marouane Chamakh has been questioned by French police.
The Mirror reports Chamakh has been questioned by French police in a money-laundering probe.
And the Morocco international, who is joining the Gunners on a Bosman free transfer from Bordeaux, was branded "foolish" during a trial that saw a man jailed for two years.
A court was told the French-born striker allowed his friend Patrick Felici to use his bank account to transfer money to Morocco.
Bar owner Felici opened the L'Ho de La restaurant in Agadir, but investigators found he had used almost £1.5million in laundered funds to set it up.
Felici was charged with aggravated money-laundering, abuse of public funds and breaches of employment laws - and given a two-year prison term with 18 months suspended.
Prosecutor Alain Benech said: "Marouane Chamakh played the role of bag-carrier in this case. However, he behaved in a foolish way."
Chamakh was not charged but his involvement in the case will concern Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who has pursued the striker for over a year - as well as a Gunners board eager to maintain the club's reputation.

I can't see Joe Hart moving to Arsenal neither:nono:. Champions League football must be tempting but Manchester City do really want to keep him and think he has lots of potential.

Report: Chelsea in summer bid for Brazilian star Kaka
Ancelotti knows the 28 year-old attacking midfielder well from his days at AC Milan . Kaka has struggled at Real Madrid this season, following his £56million switch from the Rossoneri last summer. A troublesome thigh injury has limited Kaka 's chances at the Bernebeu and he has been nowhere near the success that Cristiano Ronaldo has been this season.
Real Madrid look likely to end the season with no silverware, which could lead to a new manager and general upheaval at the club. The News of the World suggests that Kaka might take the opportunity to leave for Chelsea.
Although they won the domestic double, Chelsea boss Ancelotti will be aware that owner Roman Abramovich has his sights set on the elusive Champions League for which he will need to reinforce his squad.
Although Abramovich has ordered that there be some belt-tightening at Chelsea, the News of the World suggests that he could make a exception for Kaka or that the Blues may attempt to take him on loan.
Kaka will star at this summer's World Cup, having scored 26 goals in 76 games for Brazil.

Manchester United and Arsenal set to fight for Everton defender Phil Jagielka - report
Manchester United and Arsenal will compete to sign Everton centre-back Phil Jagielka in the summer.
Gunner boss Arsene Wenger believes that the 28 -year-old would do well in a central defense partnership with Thomas Vermaelen and provide some experience for the young team.
Sir Alex Ferguson is also interested in acquiring the former England international, who can also play full-back and midfield, to boost United’s strength for next season.
Jagielka missed much of the season after suffering a severe knee injury last April and despite returning to the Toffees late in the season the defender could not find his way into Fabio Capello’s provisional England squad.
United and Arsenal could start the bidding for Jagielka at £15million but Everton manager David Moyes will not let the defender go easily.
QUALITY defender.

Arsenal Boss Plots £24m French Duo: Wenger Ready to Make Move for Mandanda and Mexes
Arsene Wenger hopes to secure the signing of French international pair Steve Mandanda and Philippe Mexes this summer. The Arsenal boss is looking for defensive reinforcements to help improve his back line and is ready to spend big to bring the duo to the Emirates.
The Emirates manager is desperate for a new keeper having seen Manuel Almunia and Lukasz Fabianski struggle this season. The club also has a plethora of aging defenders with the likes of William Gallas, Sol Campbell and Mikel Silvestre all potential exit bound players.
Both Roma defender Mexes and Marseille keeper Mandanda are hugely experienced and are known to be players Wenger admires so could be just what the north London club is looking for. The Arsenal boss has been promised a large cash injection to help improve his squad and a move for these two could well help the club push themselves back into the title picture.

Arsenal Want £16m Dutch Master: Wenger Plots Move to Capture AC Milan Man Huntelaar
Arsene Wenger is ready to splash the cash this summer and is planning a significant bid for AC Milan striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar. With Brazilian Leonardo being relieved of his duties at the San Siro the Italian giants are set for a turbulent time and the Arsenal boss believes this could be the perfect time to try to move for the faltering Dutchman.
Having experienced a nightmare season at Real Madrid, Huntelaar was offloaded to AC Milan for a fee in the region of £14m and injuries and lack of first team opportunities have left the 26 year old wondering how to resurrect his stuttering career.
Arsenal experienced a massive injury crisis in the attacking third of the field last season and were reduced to having to play some of the season with players out of position. Wenger may well feel that such a crisis hampered his title push and wants to bring in experienced players to help bring an end to a five season silverware-less drought.
Huntelaar would surely jump at the chance of such a move and Wenger may well feel that partnering the former Ajax man with his compatriot Robin Van Persie may well help the Emirates side mount a sustained challenge for significant silverware next season.

Arsenal set to splash the cash at last with club record bid
Arsenal are finally set to splash some cash this summer with Aston Villa’s Ashley Young the apparent target. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the player and would have made a move for the 24 year old earlier, however with Villa being involved in the battle for a Champions League place the prospects were deemed to be slim, that is no longer the case.
Arsenal can offer Young Champions League football, something that Villa cannot, they can also offer him more opportunities to break in to the England team, something that playing for Villa has failed to produce for him, well for the World Cup anyway and on top of that he is a known fan of the Gunners.
Young will not come cheap and a figure as high as £25 Million has been mentioned and if Wenger does indeed splash that sort of cash it will be a record for Arsenal, but even that amount may not be enough with both Barcelona and Manchester City also interested.
Wenger knows he can be outbid on both the transfer fee and wages but will be hoping that the chance to play for the team he supported as a youngster will be enough to tempt Young, time will tell if the cold reality of the pound is more enticing than ones dreams.
One thing is for sure is that Arsenal would be significantly strengthened if they do manage to persuade Young to join them.
Bull crap no we wont.

Arsenal Finally Finish On Top Of The Table — The Premier League Fair Play Table
After five years of no silverware, Arsenal have finally finished top of the Premier League table, albeit just the Fair Play table.
The Gunners edged out arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the coveted top spot, which sees them presented with an award and £30,000 in prize money.
The table is decided not just on the number of sendings off and bookings clubs accrue over the course of the season, but also the respect players show for referees and their general behaviour on the pitch.
Premier League champions Chelsea could only finish fifth in the Fair Play table, one place below Manchester United, while Bolton Wanderers, Hull City and Sunderland were the sides rooted to the foot of the table.
With a handful of games left in the season the fair play of the league as a whole was on course to earn English football an extra European place next season — possibly opening the way for relegated Burnley to play in next season's Europa League — but unfortunately a slip in standards meant England fell out of the running for an extra qualification spot, meaning Fulham's eventual third-place finish in the table will not give them the chance to avenge their Europa League final defeat next season.

Nasri reveals off-field Gallas issues
Samir Nasri has said he is one of "four or five" Arsenal players who do not speak to William Gallas.
Gallas is out of contract this summer and looks likely to leave Emirates Stadium, with chairman Peter Hill-Wood saying the club is unwilling to match his "extravagant" demands for a new deal.
Nasri and Gallas are known to have a problematic relationship, with a bust-up at Euro 2008 documented in Gallas' autobiography, but Nasri has now revealed a number of players do not get along with the 32-year-old.
"I don't communicate with him, but I'm not the only one at Arsenal who doesn't have any communication with him," he said in the Sun. "We are four or five, but that doesn't stop us fighting for each other on the pitch.
"You don't get 11 friends in a football team. There are people who have affinities and who get on, but on the pitch we fight for the same cause."
Kolo Toure revealed last month that his feud with Gallas had driven him to quit the club for Manchester City last summer.
"I had a few problems with a few people there and wasn't feeling happy," he said. "I was looking for somewhere else and a new challenge.
"Gallas and me misunderstood each other at certain times and one of us had to leave. As a player I had great respect for him because he was older than me.
"In Africa, when someone is older you have respect for them, but I think sometimes he took advantage of that in some ways."

Rumours Of Valencia's Stars Leaving Are Becoming A Reality - Unai Emery
Los Che will reinvest some of the cash from the possible sales...
Valencia coach Unai Emery has admitted that los Che are close to losing David Villa as reports intensify of the striker's impending departure.
Barcelona are widely thought to be close to sealing the deal, although reports in England suggest that Manchester United are ready to offer €50m to take the Spanish international to the Premier League.
"I came to Valencia knowing that two important players [Villa and David Silva] could leave at any moment," Emery is quoted as saying by Sport.
"In these moments, this is looking more likely to become a reality."
The coach is hopeful that funds will be available to reinforce the squad, but is aware that Valencia will not be able to replace Villa and potentially Silva with players of a similar calibre.
"We must invest a part of the possible transfers to bring in new players. Our signings will not be as good as those who leave, but in time we must hope that they become footballers of a similar level."

The news could alert Manchester United, who attempted to sign Benzema last summer

Reds ace linked with shock rival move
Chelsea are being linked with a surprise £5million move for Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun this summer.
The Israeli international appears to be heading for the exit door after failing to hold down a regular place in the Reds side and both AS Roma and Dinamo Moscow have been linked.
However Chelsea are now being linked with a shock move as doubts surround the future of Joe Cole, who could leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer.
Cole has yet to agree a new deal and Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti is believed to be lining up Benayoun as a replacement and at £5million the deal would not break the bank.
Tottenham are also being linked.

Franck Ribery To Snub Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea & Juventus For New Bayern Munich Deal - Report
Reports in France claims Ribery is set to pen a new deal with Bayern after they offered him package too good to refuse...
Franck Ribery is set to snub interest from Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus after edging closer to a new deal with Bayern Munich, reports L'Equipe.
Following on from Christian Nerlinger's speech, in which he said: "We are in close contact with Franck and we have the impression that he values the situation he is in with Bayern and we can see good chances of being able to extend his contract," there is now a reported confidence from Munich that the Frenchman will pen a new deal.
Ribery is tied to the club until 2011, but growing speculation around Europe has seen him a favourite on the Real Madrid hit list, with Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus all vying for his signature.
However, voices in France and Germany suggest Bayern and Ribery will reach smiles and a handshake over a new deal because the German side have offered him better terms compared to Real Madrid.
There was speculation that the deal proposition was on an edge following a number of problems including his suspension from the Champions League final.
But the latest word from Bavaria is that Bayern want to reconnect and secure his services following the Champions League final against Inter next week.

Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy could be tempted by shock switch to hometown club Cardiff City - report
Cardiff City could make a sensational bid for Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy if the Welsh club gain promotion to the Premier League.
The Bluebirds play Blackpool next weekend in the Championship play-off final and reports suggest a move for the Wales international sharpshooter could be on the cards.
Bellamy was born in Cardiff and the 31-year-old still lives on the outskirts of the Welsh capital.
According to Wales Online, he's spoken in private about his desire to one day play for his hometown club and with Citizens' chief Roberto Mancini set to off-load 16 players this summer, Bellamy could be departing Eastlands.
It is thought though that the fleet-footed marksman is also a target for Tottenham Hotspur, and the lure of Champions League football could persuade him to move to north London instead.
If Cardiff are to make a move for the former Liverpool striker, it is likely the club will attempt to secure a loan, rather than a permanent, deal.
It's reported that Cardiff could pay up to £30,000 a week for the well-travelled forward, with Manchester City paying the rest of his reported £90,000 weekly wage.
Bellamy was at the Cardiff City stadium to see his hometown side beat Leicester City on penalties in midweek, and the Bluebirds will be looking to become the first Welsh side to play in the Premier League.

LIVERPOOL PLACE £10MILLION TRANSFER FEE ON MANAGER RAFA BENITEZ
LIVERPOOL have placed a massive £10million transfer fee on manager Rafa Benitez.
That’s the reason his proposed move to Juventus has been held up – and possibly scuppered altogether.
When the Italian club made an official approach for Benitez, Liverpool demanded £10m in compensation, as their Spanish boss still has four years left on his contract.
Juventus have refused to meet that figure and no compromise deal has been agreed. The situation has left Benitez, and Liverpool, in limbo – so Juventus are now considering other targets.
The Anfield side were so convinced that the Italian giants would pay the compensation that they started the search for a new manager. As revealed in the Daily Star Sunday last week, their preference was to go for a British boss, with Aston Villa’s Martin O’Neill at the top of their wanted list.
But with Benitez still at Anfield, Liverpool have had to put their plans on hold.
And the delay in the deal could cause problems as the Merseysiders look to strengthen their squad for next season.
They are currently looking at a number of players – but new faces are unlikely to join when they don’t know who will be in charge.
