Just sent my sister a USB stick with all of S7 on it - she hasn't seen ANY of it yet (doesn't have Sky and where she lives has < 1mb internet speeds, eeewww).
I'm so jealous. Imagine having all 7 episodes to watch back to back :worry:.

Not sure how I felt about this season. While the last episode was amazing everything else just felt kind of predictable and didn't really live up to the epic climax of the season 6 final.

A fifth spin off show is in the works now
There’s a fifth Game of Thrones prequel series in the works, and the project’s writer is a familiar name to the fantasy drama’s fans with a massive amount of Westeros experience.
EW can exclusively report that Thrones co-executive producer Bryan Cogman is penning a drama series follow-up to the Emmy-winning blockbuster. Cogman developed the project by working closely with author George R.R. Martin, who cryptically referenced the existence of an additional unconfirmed prequel on his blog months ago.
Since GoT showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss have declined to be involved with the prequels (and with Martin already involved two of the other four), Cogman is arguably the next-best possible addition to the prequel squad from the show’s current creative team.
Cogman has been with Thrones since the first season when he was brought on board as an assistant to Benioff and Weiss. While the GoT showrunners are the show’s hands-on chief executives who pen most of the scripts and occasionally direct as well, Cogman has written plenty of stellar episodes along the way and ranks as the show’s third-most prolific writer. Some of his hours include season 7’s intricately plotted “Stormborn,” season 4’s “The Laws of Gods and Men” (which featured Tyrion Lannister on trial) and season 3’s “Kissed by Fire” (which included Jaime Lannister’s bathtub confession to Brienne).
There are no specific story details yet available for any of the new GoT projects. But Martin has ruled out tackling Robert’s Rebellion (noting fans already know all the major plot points from that war anyway) or mining his Dunk & Egg tales (as they are still being written).
Also: All the prequel projects are set before the events in Game of Thrones and do not involve any members of the current cast (the term “spinoff” is frequently used to describe these projects though it’s not technically correct).
Like all TV projects in development, none of the prequels are guaranteed to air. HBO programming president Casey Bloys has said that he might only eventually greenlight one of them. The executive also recently said that any Game of Thrones prequel won’t air until at least a year after the flagship series concludes. GoT is expected to return for its final season in either late 2018 or 2019. So we’re probably looking at 2020 until we see a follow-up GoT title.

well i can defeat those dragons really easy i think, first i would get Daenerys to trust me, i would have some wildfire bombs near the dragon cages, destroying them, and then i will bend the knee for the one true king, The Night King :worship: :worship:
cause it's better to choose the side of the winning than the side of the losing :D

I doubt wildfire would harm a dragon, Nicky, they are immune to all fire. You would be caught and executed :worry:.

Filming is expected to take them up to June/July next year, I suppose when you factor in the amount of time post production takes for 6 90+ Minute episodes it does make sense
But it better be jan/feb or I’ll be FUMING

In an interview with HuffPost, “Game of Thrones” visual effects supervisor Joe Bauer discussed the show’s Emmy hopes (it’s nominated for 22 awards at the 2018 ceremony) as well as its future eligibility. “In two years we’ll be eligible for the Season 8 work,” he said, “which we’re just beginning now.”
That’s right. He said the show will be eligible for the 2020 Emmys, not the 2019 Emmys, meaning it would be airing the bulk of its expected six episodes after the 2019 deadline: May 31.
“We’re going to be toiling away on Season 8 until May of 2019, so it’s eight or nine months away,” he added. “But the prequel is starting to shoot in February, at least the pilot. So we’ll still have quite a lot to do on Season 8 when they’re beginning.”
Bauer said he’s blocked off his schedule until next May for “Game of Thrones” effects work. “So much of it comes down to timing and all that stuff. The situation changes every week. I know I’m not doing anything else but ‘Thrones’ until May of next year.”

Season 8 opens at Winterfell with an episode that contains plenty of callbacks to the show’s pilot. Instead of King Robert’s procession arriving, it’s Daenerys and her army. What follows is a thrilling and tense intermingling of characters — some of whom have never previously met, many who have messy histories — as they all prepare to face the inevitable invasion of the Army of the Dead

“The second time [he cried] was the very end,” Harington says. He’s referring to when the cast reached the last page of episode 6, and what the showrunners wrote there at the bottom.
“Every season, you read at the end of the last script ‘End of Season 1,’ or ‘End of Season 2,’” Harington says. “This read ‘End of Game of Thrones.’”

- He presented her with gifts like a cruise on Adriatic Sea and he got her an American visa, he promised her to introduce her to successful directors.
- The affair lasted a month, the first time they hooked up was right before the wedding (with costar Rose Leslie) and she said it was disappointing.
- He’s a cokehead, he’s always intoxicated/drunk. He never could remember the things they were talking about, she was sick of the same questions like what’s the time or what were they talking about.
- She f0ck3d his brain out, he sniffed a lot and then passed out with a boner, it happened like three times.
- He liked the way she looked, he was surprised that she wasn't wearing any makeup but he always asked her to make him feel better. She’s got what she wanted and she’s happy it’s all over cause she didn’t want to date a celebrity/drug addict.

i liked that one teaser crypts of winterfell
i noticed few things
- arya, sansa statues look so young, Jon's statue looks old almost like an omen of he could survive and arya, sansa die
- jon, arya pulling their swords, sansa just stands there also probably bc sansa never had any training with a sword, so i think when winterfell gets overrun i could think of sansa as one of the early casualties cause most of her guards probably have to defend themselves first of all and she's pretty much helpless idk

The season eight finale of Game of Thrones is due out May 19. But hold the door! GoT isn't going away that easily, and once we have a chance to dry our tears and wipe away the snot, we'll be getting even more Thrones content after the Night's Watch has officially ended.

I try to be excited about the GoT prequels etc. and hope that they'll be good but then I remember that "Caprica" (Battlestar Galactica) happened... and it makes me sceptical :suspect:.
For those who didn't watch Battlestar Galactica: The reboot series (2003 - 2009) was brilliant, but the sequel series Caprica (2010) was trash and rightly cancelled after one season.
I really hope the GoT prequels aren't churned out and of lesser quality but I'm reserving judgement. Especially as IMO the quality of Season 5 (which was largely not based on input from the books) seriously dipped; it was the weakest season by a long way.

This is the best season opener in GOT history
That’s not a title handed out lightly (who could forget Arya Stark and the massacre of the Freys from last series). But for the sheer speed and quality of storytelling, for the amount of unforgettable moments and surprises, this is easily the best of the eight first episodes. Forget just moving pieces into place and laying groundwork for later: this is a proper episode that can stand shoulder to shoulder with any other, packed as it is with truly momentous, series-defining scenes. Judged against the 67 episodes that preceded it, this is almost certainly going straight into the overall top five. It’s that good.

The Telegraph has done a review of the premiere, you need an account to read it but someone on Digital Spy posted it
The voice of Sansa Stark, filled New York’s Radio City Music Hall last week along with 6,000 eager invitees. “Welcome to the beginning of the end.”
Outside, a giant Iron Throne sat in the spot more often occupied by Rockefeller Plaza’s iconic Christmas tree, while inside the auditorium, attendees were warned by the actress Sophie Turner of the penalties of recording, taking pictures or leaking plot spoilers of this, the premiere of the first episode of the final season.
“Remember what happened to the last person that *******'d with us,” chimed in the voice of her co-star Maisie Williams, aka the trained assassin, Arya Stark.
After seven seasons, 67 episodes and 47 Emmy awards – a record for any scripted show in television history (it also holds the record for the most expensive pilot episode ever) – the wildly popular, critically acclaimed epic fantasy Game of Thrones, is finally bidding farewell.
And its creators David Bennioff and DB Weiss have wasted no time in getting straight down to business, with a season premiere packed with big plot point moments.
Directed by GoT regular David Nutter, the episode, as yet officially unnamed, is heavy focussed around reunions – many of them familial and long-awaited, between fond siblings (“all Arya has really thought about for a long time is reuniting with Jon Snow again”, said Williams on the red carpet) – others less so; the most unsuited of former wives and husbands are also flung together again, along with a would-be murderer and his seriously damaged would-be victim.
The show is based on the series of books A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin.“The allegory that I don’t think even George realised he was writing until recently was that, for seven seasons, you’ve got people vying for power, and suddenly, they have to come together and collaborate in order to save the planet,” said Jerome Flynn, who plays the sarcastic sellsword Bronn.
“I think that’s coming from somewhere deep in his subconscious – that the most popular show on the planet contains that metaphor.”
Unlike some season openers in years gone by, this eighth premiere contains no epic battles or large-scale set pieces, but what violence there is, is dark, brutal and unsettling. That’s balanced out, however, by a noticeably lighter, more humorous tone, with plenty of witty one-liners.
Collaboration is also a key theme. In previous seasons, the competing houses were spread out across Westeros, waging wars on one another in a bid to expand their empires. As season seven set up, however, many of Westeros’ key players are now heading north – to fight together against the White Walkers, who are advancing on the kingdom in colossal numbers.
Daenerys Targaryan (Emilia Clarke) soon learns what the audience already knows from last season too – that the wall has been ruptured, and one of her dragons killed and conscripted into the army of the dead by the Night King.
But that’s not Danaerys’s only challenge. Fans of the show will know that her relationship with Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) was taken to the next level in the season seven finale. But now she’s on his home turf. With his snide, sniffy sisters (“women supporting women” is not, it seems, a motto that has yet reached Westeros), and a population of frosty locals. Not that the chilly welcome appears to be cooling Daenerys and Jon’s PDAs.
There are plenty more new and surprisingly collaborations too – some merely political, others carnal, with, no doubt, an eventual eye to the political. But Cersei Lannister is one notable omission from the convoys heading north, remaining at King’s Landing – constantly scheming, and apparently, not letting her bed get cold in Jaime’s absence.
As Bran Stark, his all-seeing abilities threw up season seven’s biggest plot twist – that Daenerys is actually Jon’s aunt, and, as the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark, he is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne.
Rest assured it won’t be a secret much longer.
But who – if anyone – will finally claim the throne remains very much an open field. “I was worried about how the guys were going to wrap it up – that’s a high-pressure gig, and you’re never going to keep everyone happy,” said Flynn.
“But I was really relieved when I read it – they have done an amazing job. It’s deeply moving, it’s shocking, and it also makes sense, in some bizarre way.”

Last time I watched (live) at 2am there was only one ad break and it was really shortTrue, I think the ads trail off during the night, but tbh I'd even find that distracting.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but I was just wondering there isn't any bad Jon and Daenarys shipping scenes in the episode is there? It ruined season 7 for me and I'm hoping to not really see it continue this season.

1) Agree with Locke on Twitter that that waterfall scene, with the dragon pulling an "ugh get a room " look, was SO cringeworthy and I am honestly sick of this show pandering to the basic-as Jon/Daenerys fans. Their characters just don't have chemistry and I do not care for this romance! Kudos to Sam to dropping the #Related bomb :clap1: it's the first good thing he's done in five seasons.
It would've been absolute gold if Jon literally died just by falling off the dragon during that ride. Go for a shock, writers :oh: not this namby-pamby fanfiction.
2) The ending scared the hell out of me even though I noticed his eyes open like 5 seconds before the scream. Dark af.
3) The family reunions were lovely.
4) Gendry is still fine
5) I won't read too much into the timelines but it did all seem a bit "everyone is suddenly here :) don't ask how :)" with the likes of Varys just rocking up at Winterfell as well. Maybe I forgot some of last season
6) The Greyjoy rescue was very uh...brief but maybe that was for the best with how few episodes there are left. Would've assumed Yara was a goner. Also assumed Beric/Tormund/Edd were goners with that scene you could barely see at the end.
7) Bran continues to bore

Screaming at the CGI at the most famous waterfall in Iceland to make it not look like that’s where they were
I’m hoping now Jon knows they’re related that’ll be the end of them as a couple

That was just a bridging episode, sorting out a few minor plotlines and setting things up for the real meaty stuff. Some of the regular characters didn't even have a line.

Aegon, not Jon now!
But he says he never wanted to be king. So what will he do with that knowledge?
For the show's hero he's getting pussy-whipped by Dany and by Sansa.

I doubt he’ll change his name nor will he want to continue shagging his aunt, I’m guessing the preview of them in the crypts next week is him telling her
i thoroughly enjoyed it, and it set up a whole new set of factions and rivalries so that we really don't have a clue how it is going to finish

I'm waiting for Sansa's reaction to finding out she really is the Lady of Winterfell.

Does anyone know what the limbs around the boy at the end symbolise?
Or was it just the Night King being a sick bastard?
