We've been hit harder by Franklin than Eunice. They opened the river flood gates last night and the river level has dropped but lots of problems on the roads and.motorways.
Still really windy...and I've lost a fence panel :fist: the force of the wind also broke the concrete post so going to be a pain to get it fixed

Parts of Spain are experiencing their hottest May ever with temperatures of more than 40C in some places, according to the state weather agency, AEMET.
The agency issued heat warnings in 10 regions for Saturday, saying it could be "one of the most intense" heatwaves in years.
The city of Jaén in southern Spain recorded its highest ever May temperature of 40C on Friday.
Climate change is making heatwaves more frequent and more intense.
Spain's unseasonably warm spring weather is a result of hot air coming from North Africa, causing temperatures to rise by up to 15C above average for this time of year.
The worst-hit regions are Andalusia in the south, Extremadura in the south-east, Madrid and Castilla La Mancha in the centre and Aragon in the north-east.
Spain's health ministry urged residents to drink plenty of water and to stay in cool places when possible. It also advised people to reduce physical activity.
"This year it seems to have gone directly to summer, but we have to keep going," Madrid road sweeper Rocio Vazquez, 58, told Reuters news agency.

so hot :(
Japan is sweltering under the hottest day yet of its worst heatwave since records began in 1875.
The blistering heat has drawn official warnings of a looming power shortage, and led to calls for people to conserve energy where possible.
But the government is still advising people to use air conditioning to avoid heatstroke as cases of hospitalisation rise with the heat.
Weather officials warn the heat is likely to continue in the coming days.
Heatwaves have become more frequent, more intense, and last longer because of human-induced climate change.
The world has already warmed by about 1.1C since the industrial era began and temperatures will keep rising unless governments around the world make steep cuts to emissions.
Tokyo charted temperatures above 35 degrees on Wednesday for a fifth straight day, marking the worst documented streak of hot weather in June since records started in 1875.
Meanwhile, the city of Isesaki, northwest of the capital, saw a record 40.2C - the highest temperature ever recorded in June for Japan.

https://nltimes.nl/2022/08/03/netherlands-officially-water-shortage-due-ongoing-drought
Netherlands officially water shortage due to ongoing drought
Due to the ongoing drought, the Netherlands officially has a water shortage, the government announced on Wednesday. The scarce water will be distributed according to legal agreements so that dikes, peatlands, and very vulnerable nature areas are supplied with water for as long as possible. More measures may follow in the coming weeks.
According to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, there has been an “imminent water shortage” since the middle of last month. Now the government calls it a “de facto water shortage.” This activates the displacement sequence - a statutory measure that prioritizes important areas if a limited amount of fresh water is available. This was already in force in the Vallei en Veluwe water board, but now it applies to the whole of the Netherlands.
The first priority in this plan is to keep the dikes safe and to prevent irreversible damage to nature and peatland. After that, the freshwater will be used to maintain the drinking water and energy supply. Other stakeholders, like industry, agriculture, and shipping, are further down the line.
Minister Mark Harmbers (Infrastructure and Water Management) also wrote to parliament that the Water Shortage Management Team (MTW) would be convened for the first time since 2018. This team consists of Rijkswaterstaat, water boards, drinking water companies, provinces, and three Ministries. It can decide on measures that affect several regions or are even national.
The drinking water supply is not yet endangered, according to the government. But Harbers urged Netherlands residents to “think carefully whether they should wash their car or fill their inflatable pool completely.”
Due to the ongoing drought, various measures were already in place. In parts of the country, there is a ban on irrigation for agriculture. Ships are not allowed to overtake each other on parts of the Gelderse IJssel. The fairway has become too narrow because of the low water level. The Rijkswaterstaat is also keeping the water level of the IJsselmeer as high as possible, because a lot of drinking water comes from the lake
bad times over here too
lowest priority are farmers, industrial areas, recreational areas
highest priority are keeping nature intact with enough water, keeping the drinking water out of dangerous levels
thankfully the heat will be gone again by friday here, between 20 and 22 degrees then, but i'm more hoping for quite a bit of rainfall too, might be a chance of rainfall tomorrow evening i've read in my province with thunderstorms
how are things in the UK? are they also taking good measures to fight the drought and protect nature and protect drinking water
Nicky91
03-08-2022, 12:56 PM
hosepipe bans are here in force, which more goes for farmers considering they pump their water directly from the ground and that is really bad for water levels
