Further detail
Snow will reach the south of the warning area later Saturday, then spread
north across the rest of the area through Sunday morning. Snow will be
persistent and heavy at times, and will likely drift in brisk easterly winds,
especially over higher ground.

Much of the warning area can expect 3-7 cm of snow. Areas above about 150
m will likely see 15-30 cm, with 40 cm for ground above 300 m, before snow
begins to ease and clear by the end of Sunday. For some lower-lying areas,
such as the Vale of York, snow may mix with rain at times making
estimations of snow depths here more difficult. Regardless, travel will likely
be difficult, with power line icing an additional impact.

A group of very skilled pilots and meteorologists landed at Shannon Airport this
week to monitor the movements and strength of Storm Éowyn. According to
Cathal Nolan of Ireland's Weather Channel, NOAA's (National Oceanic and
Atmospheric Administration) 'Hurricane Hunters' were seen landing in Shannon
on Monday

Nolan expects winds near the Shannon Estuary to reach speeds of 180/190km
per hour, and says it will not be an ordinary storm, but a "generational" one.
"The wind speeds that we're seeing from all of the weather models are really
sobering for meteorologists, and we can't stress enough that this is going to be
a major weather event, and please do heed the warnings".

An earthquake that took place off a county's coastline during the early hours of Sunday morning went unnoticed by residents.
The tremor was recorded at 04:32 GMT in the North Sea, roughly 62.1 miles (100km) north-east of Cromer, Norfolk.
According to the British Geological Survey, the earthquake had a 3.0 magnitude and occurred at a shallow depth of 6.2 miles (10km).
Yet many residents have jokingly questioned whether there was an earthquake at all, with some saying that they "never heard or felt" anything.
One person suggested their snoring may have been mistaken for the earthquake, while another said any tremors felt could have been a result of them falling down the stairs.
The British Geological Survey said about 20 to 30 earthquakes are felt by people each year, while hundreds of smaller ones are recorded by sensitive instruments.

Are we going to get snow mid April CD?

No

I see a couple of tabloids trying to get clicks by looking at 2 week ahead WX Charts model projections and misinterpreting them with the usual bollocks

the Met say

Tuesday 8 Apr - Thursday 17 Apr
High pressure should prevail for most of the outlook period, maintaining largely settled conditions for much of the time. This should result in lengthy spells of dry and bright weather. It will be breezy at times, especially in the southwest at first. Daytime temperatures will depend on the wind direction and cloud amounts, but most places will be warm for most of the period, and very warm days most likely will be further inland. Overnight frosts are possible on clear nights where winds fall light. There is also the chance of some areas of low cloud or fog, notably around the east coast. Towards the middle of April, the weather may turn more unsettled as rain or showers try to push in from the west.

Friday 18 Apr - Friday 2 May
An unsettled period is likely around mid April, with interludes of rain or showers at times. Despite being unsettled, there will be fair conditions between weather systems. A return to high pressure is favoured later in the month, bringing mainly dry and fine weather. Temperatures are likely to be around average at first, before climbing to above average later in the more settled weather. This means some warm or very warm days, especially further inland where winds stay light on fair days. This could also mean there might still be some chilly nights any clear skies.

Amber T-Storm warning for Friday into sat

Further detail
Thunderstorms are likely across parts of eastern and southeastern England from Friday evening through to the early hours of Saturday.

Although many places within the warning area may see limited impacts, torrential downpours could bring 30-50mm of rain, with a chance of even greater accumulations in a few places. With much of the rain falling in a short space of time this brings the risk of surface water flooding.

Large hail, strong and gusty winds, perhaps in excess of 40-50 mph for a short period of time, and frequent lightning will be additional hazards though again many places will not see this

Whilst many places will likely remain dry and unaffected, scattered
thunderstorms may develop during Saturday afternoon, lasting through the
evening hours, moving northeastwards before eventually clearing to the North
Sea by the early hours of Sunday. The most intense thunderstorms could
produce frequent lightning, large hail and gusty winds, along with some heavy
downpours for a time. This may lead to some surface water impacts in places.

yes the usual spots of Seville and Cordoba will be low 40s perhaps but that is standard for summer highs. Amber warning for London and SE for Friday night into Sat morning

Areas of heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms will move northwards during
the early hours of Saturday, with torrential downpours in places. Accumulations
of 20-40 mm are possible in 1 hour, and where heavy downpours persist then
as much as 70-100 mm could accumulate in just a few hours. Significant
impacts are possible if this occurs over more urban areas.

The more widespread heavy rain should clear to the north during Saturday
morning, but additional scattered heavy showers and a few thunderstorms
could develop during Saturday afternoon and early evening, this risk covered by
the much larger Yellow thunderstorm warning.

At least 100 million Americans are on alert for dangerous heat and humidity --
stretching from Texas to Maine -- on Friday, with parts of the Eastern Seaboard
feeling like it's in the triple digits.

Heat advisories are in place from Texas to West Virginia on Friday, with
temperatures reaching between 105 and 110 degrees.

In Boston, the heat index -- how hot it feels with humidity -- could reach 103
degrees; New York City could feel like 104 degrees and Washington, D.C., could
feel like 109 degrees.

Yes, and they had emergency preparedness activated for East/SE TX just in case the tropical system did become a problem... we're on the edge of the "heat bubble" as they're calling it and so us having rain actually is beneficial to keep temps lower...
