Czech pair defeat Swiss in longest Davis Cup game in history
Defending champions the Czech Republic and Switzerland slogged it out to set a new record for the longest Davis Cup match in history.
Tomas Berdych and Lukas Rosol took seven hours and two minutes to see off Swiss pair Stanislas Wawrinka and Marco Chiudinelli in a doubles rubber.
The world group first-round match was settled on a double fault, finishing 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-7 24-22.
Berdych said: "I have never played tennis that long."
He added: "I like it because I now have a new experience but we still need one more point, so let's go again Sunday."
The previous match record was six hours and 22 minutes.
That was held by American John McEnroe's 9-7 6-2 15-17 3-6 8-6 win over Sweden's Mats Wilander in 1982 before tie-breaks were contested.
Berdych and Rosol's doubles victory is now the second longest match ever behind American John Isner's 6-4 3-6 6-7 7-6 70-68 win against Frenchman Nicolas Mahut in the first round of Wimbledon in 2010.
That match was played over three days and the pair spent 11 hours and five minutes on court.
Settled on a double-fault

I see that Serena and Azarenka have both pulled out of Dubai. What is wrong with the top female players these days? No one can seem to play two tournaments in a row without some sort of injury. I know it's a lot more physical than it was 20 years ago but come on, winning both Doha and Dubai would be 9 best of 3 set matches in 14 days - the men play 7 best of 5 set matches in the same amount of time in the slams. No wonder they're always complaining about equal pay.

Esther Vergeer quits wheelchair tennis after perfect decade
Wheelchair tennis champion Esther Vergeer has retired after going over 10 years unbeaten.
The last time she lost was to Daniele di Toro in Sydney on 30 January 2003, winning the next 470 matches.
The 31-year-old Dutchwoman, who won her fourth consecutive Paralympic singles gold in London, tweeted on Tuesday she had "officially stopped tennis".
Vergeer took the number one spot in her sport in 1999 and only lost it after missing January's Australian Open.
Although possibly less well known than sportsmen with a fraction of her achievements Vergeer is described by Rafael Nadal as 'amazing' for her will and ability and lauded as showing, 'true love and passion' for her sport by Maria Sharapova on her website.
Earlier this month, she told BBC Sport: "If I'm going to continue playing, I'll play because I want to be better than before. I enjoy tennis, and if one day I feel I am not enjoying it as much, I'll retire and start doing other things."
Vergeer won the first of her four first gold medals in Sydney in 2000 and her record of victories had been compared to the squash legend Jahangir Khan's 555 consecutive wins between 1981 and 1986 - a target many thought she would try to emulate.
She took a break from the sport last year to consider her future after the 6-0 6-3 victory over compatriot Aniek van Koot in the Paralympics final.
"This is an amazing life still so why quit while I'm still winning? But it's not like I'm aiming for the 500 unbeaten record, 600 or whatever," she said.
Vergeer was just a "little girl" when she started playing wheelchair tennis after losing the use of her legs aged eight following spinal surgery, and she has seen the sport gain greater attention during her career.
Last year she reflected: "It's so amazing that I can spread the message to the world that if you have a disability there's so much that you can still do, and a lot of people in the world still don't know that."
Always grounded during her success, Vergeer said: "Everybody expected me to win gold [in London], but I still had to be at the top of my game. A lot of people forget that."
Vergeer has been tipped as a possible sports administrator for the Dutch Olympic Committee.
So impressive, 10 years being the absolute best in your sport.
Looks like it all got a bit to boring for her in the end

Andy Murray was so incensed by the “erratic” grunting coming from the other end of the court last night that at one point he shouted “outrageous”.
The British number one was in action at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells against Argentine Carlos Berlocq and would go through to the quarter-finals 7-6 6-4. However, Murray grew increasingly frustrated as the match went on with the noises emanating from his opponent.
"It was extremely, extremely loud, more than what I have experienced from any other player on the tour," Murray said after the match."
Murray, who will play Juan Martin Del Potro in the next round, appeared to hint gamesmanship from his opponent.
"It's like sometimes silence and then it comes out of nowhere. It's a bit of a shock.
"That's what I don't understand. To go from nothing to the loudest grunt you can do. It makes no sense."
Murray raised the issue with the umpire after his opponent had made a complaint about the Scotsman taking too long between points.
"When I have been on the court or off it, it's never been something I have found to be really that off-putting," said Murray.
"But if it's going to be suggested that I am using gamesmanship by taking too long, then you can't be making noises like that on the court. I haven't experienced it like that before."

Cry me a river. Clearly making an excuse for when she gets ripped later on.
She might as well pull out to keep her unbeaten record in tact for the year, can't be letting someone have a cheap victory over her because she's injured

Rafa with a great chance to win. Wanted him to face Murray in the final as I think Djok is too big a bridge.
Novak hasn't been playing his best this year though but still has been grinding out results and when you look at how well Del Potro played yesterday you'd have to say he's in with a chance of beating him and as for Berdych he can never seem to beat Nadal so doubt he will tonight

i think Del Potro will do it tonight but if it goes to 3 sets then Nadal will have the edge probably since he finished of Fed and Berdych in 2 and Del Potro has played 2 pretty long matches with Murray and Novak
