Oops! It was Anne Keothavong to was playing today and Anne lost :(

But Heather Watson won! :) 7-6 6-1 she won her first Grand Slam match of her career... will go on to play the 16th seed Kaia Kanepi in the second round. Congrats little Heath!

Marc

Murray on tomorrow first. Nadal, Sharapova and Clijsters are all playing tomorrow.

(As well as Baltacha!) :)

Lee.

Geez! Could Nadal be in a spot of bother here??

Marc
24-05-2011, 05:35 PM
He looked like he was going to lose! He came through though! Good signs for Djokovic.

Another disappointing tournament from Ana Ivanovic  :bawling: ....enough said about that.

Good win for Murray, I didn't see but apparently he wasn't at his best! But a win's a win! :)

I'd say the top 5 guys (includ. Soderling) are doing very well and with Berdych losing yesterday Novak's potential QF match up is going to be easier! However he has a potential 3rd round encounter with Del Potro... awesome! can't wait for a few more rounds to finish!

Lee.

I would like to see Murray win here,a good prelude to Wimbledon,he has the ability too, I also wouldn't mind Gasquet winning but this is Nadals tournament and I feel there is likely to be another shoot out between him and Djokovic.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo
30-05-2011, 02:49 PM
comeon Gael close the bloody match!! :cloud:

Marc
30-05-2011, 03:11 PM
Gael won! 8-6 in the fifth set. Great match :)

The men's draw is shaping up to look pretty awesome! I don't see Monfils beating Federer in the QF though. Looks like a Federer/Djokovic SF bottom half. (with Fognini pulling out of the tournament with a thigh strain he picked up against Montanes yesterday)

Soderling is playing some great tennis, he will most likely reach the QF against Nadal which will probably be the match of the year at Roland Garros, and I wouldn't be surprised if Soderling manages to beat Nadal! (who seems to be struggling to play well with these new balls)

Murray is injured still, apparently he wasn't moving much in practice (perhaps trying to save himself for the match) but Triocki has had food poisoning. He pulled out of his doubles match two days ago because of it. It's likely he could still be suffering from it. Which is exactly what Murray needs! If Murray can get a w/o or a retirement from Vickor Triocki then he'll face Chela in the QF who is doing okay but not amazingly! No discredit to Chela but whoever wins out of Murray/Triocki will beat Chela and reach the SF. And face potentially Soderling.

Exciting stuff!

Lee.
30-05-2011, 03:14 PM
When's Murray due on??

Marc
30-05-2011, 03:19 PM
With Wozniacki, Clijsters, Stosur and Zvonareva all out then the women's is a massive free for all!

Li Na looking good, beat Kvitova earlier today. Kvitova was a darkhorse in the draw, a lot of people expected her to go quite far into the draw.

Azarenka is about to play Makarova (a second consecutive 4th round at a slam). I think Azarenka will win this in two sets.

Petkovic/Kirilenko is difficult to predict as you can never tell how Kirilenko will play, if she's as dictating as she was against Rus the other day then it'll be a great match. Petkovic has had a great year so far and I would expect her to be favourite to win and getting into the QF to play Sharapova who will beat Radwanksa today (I believe )

Marc

After the Azarenka/Makarova match

Yeah I just heard about that this evening. She must be gutted knowing that it could have been her year.

Marc
16-06-2011, 08:23 PM
I don't know if Kim would have won. Masha is hitting form and the Williams' sisters are back!

Masha's inconsistency and the Williams' still really rusty (both out of Eastbourne already) makes this women's draw SOOOOO open! Wozniacki may win her first slam!

In the Women's i am routing for Sharapova or Wozniacki wouldn't mind seeing Ivanović has a good run as well and hopefully neither of the Williams sisters win

Men's either Wawrinka or Federer

Lee.
20-06-2011, 03:03 PM
I can't suffer Sharapova!

Don't really care about women's tennis actually.

Men, obviously I want Murray to win, but to be honest as long as we have two weeks worth of amazing tennis, then may the best man win. :)

Take it back what I said about women's tennis.. this is exciting stuff. ( I have the sound off though)

I near always watch Tennis with the sound off, I put music on as well as watching it,I can't stand half the commentators and once Andrew Castle starts that's me finished.
Have to say I like Tim Henman's commentary though.

I think she hit 4 in a row twice in that match.

An incredible 17 aces! To Li Na's 4.

32 winners to Li Na's 24.

Fastest serve: LN- 106MPH ; SL- 124MPH
Winning % on first serve: LN- 66% ; SL- 76%

The stats don't lie.
