The episodes have not been great really. The editing is killing it mostly. Cutting and pasting scenes all over the place, trying to stick two different plots with the same character together, it's also annoying how characters seem to pop up 20mins into an episode for a short scene.

Mercedes will be surprised to learn the secrets she confided in Dr Browning have only served to bring them together, however, will Jacqui's shocking discovery blow them apart?

Tilly will prepare for a future away from Hollyoaks with Jen, but things won't go as smoothly as she planned when Jen's reaction isn't what she hoped for.

Riley will call upon his ex-fiance to rid him of Mitzeee's ex-cellmate Shayne, will Mercedes be up to the task? Elsewhere, Walker will have a preposition for Ally, Leanne will try to stop Texas from leaving, and two Hollyoaks jail birds will clash as they cross paths in prison.

Tuesday 21st: Dangerous Territory

Jacqui's concerns for Mercedes will grow, as Dr Browning will struggle to convince Mercy that they have a future together... is Mercedes falling for him in spite of herself? Things will go from bad to worse for Mercy when she's kidnapped...

Elsewhere, Tilly will be comforted by by Neil as she struggles to accept Jen's news, but will she roll over so easily? Cheeky chappy Dodger will try to regain his mojo, whilst Texas will make plans for her future away from Hollyoaks. Ally will win Ash's forgiveness, but Walker will have bigger plans for him...

Wednesday 22nd: In the Name of Love

Following recent revelations, a troubled Mercedes will focus her attentions back on Riley. Will he welcome them? Tilly will take a new tack, and she will find herself in trouble with the police after stealing Jen's car.

Elsewhere, Texas' leaving party will spur Dodger into taking action, but will it be a case of too little, too late? Brendan, Joel and Cheryl will begin to build bridges once again, as they unite in their grief for Lynsey, while Ryan's arrival will leave Phoebe out in the cold.

Thursday 23rd: Stay or go?

Texas will face difficult decisions as she leaves Hollyoaks behind for Australia, will Dodger catch her in time and stop her in her tracks? Riley will have some important choices to make as he says goodbye to Mitzeee, but how will Mercedes deal with his latest news?

Meanwhile, it's GCSE results day for Esther and Bart, but have they done as well as they expected? The return of a Queen-Bee sixth former will leave Esther on the edge. The McQueens will prepare for the return of the mother hen of the family, will she be able to bring them all together once again?

Friday 24th: Surprising Propositions

Jen will try to make amends with Tilly, but Tilly won't be about to forgive and forget so easily...

Hollyoaks does really well at keeping big story twists under wraps, as we saw with Lynsey's murder. At the same time, some fans would like more longer-term spoilers to be revealed like we see with the other soaps, so they know what to look forward to beyond the next week. Is this something you'd look at?
"We try to strike the right balance between both, and particularly because the Lynsey murder was such a good surprise. I really want to keep that element of surprise so the show is unpredictable - if you tune into Hollyoaks, you don't know what you're going to get. You can think you've read all of the spoilers, but then we're just going to throw you a massive curveball.

Emma's spot on with this, it's great that Hollyoaks manages to keep some stuff under wraps, spoilers can be good to an extent, but nothing beats the wow factor, and there's been plenty of that lately, Lynseys death, the revelation of Walker as an undercover cop, and the stunning (in my opinion) reveal of Browning as the killer and the unexpected twist that Walker witnessed it all and let her die. A real jaw dropper :love:

Because everybody else don't get a look in. It's looking like Stug is gonna end in favour of Stendana t one point, so fans of that are left at the expensve of Brendan and Ste..

Fans of Lynsey were left when she was killed off so that Brendan could get some drama with Walker and to further the Browning thing fair enough..

Ste's entire history with the show is ****ed up because Emma seems to want to erase the fact he ever had kids/Amy and fit him into her all gayed up camptastic vision of Hollyoaks..

Seriously, put Paul 'Grady in the Dog and have Julian Clary running Chez Chez and be done with it.

Brendan and Cheryl's Pa is coming into the show and apparently he is not in Later. Emma Smithwick said that they had big plans for Brendan and Cheryl, atm they cannot afford to lose them because Emmett and Bronagh are two of the shows best Actors but it is inevitable they will want to move on at some point.

I read Inside Soap today and Ally's secret is that..

He is a fraudster and identity thief. Callum does some snooping and then reveals all to Ash, although will Ally aka Dave Burns be able to talk himself out of this one?

The Mercedes/Mitzeee thing will have a conclusion soon. I think Mercedes deserves a commeupance but I actually want her to stick around, entertaining character and I like Jennifer Metcalfe's portrayal of her, plus JM is committed to the show which I also admire too

Hollyoaks star Dan O'Connor has said that his character Ally Gorman may still be able to talk his way out of trouble when Callum Kane tries to catch him out.

Callum (Laurie Duncan) grows increasingly suspicious of Ally in next week's episodes, and later becomes determined to expose him as a liar when he discovers that the mysterious Australian is using multiple aliases for reasons unknown.

As seen in pictures released at the weekend, Callum's efforts come to a head when he does some digging and confronts Ally with three women from his past.

Speaking to Soaplife about the storyline, O'Connor commented: "These three women are standing right in front of him and he's got to think of a story fast, but he's a good liar and he doesn't panic. He's always got a good story to back his lies up, so he might get away with it."

Asked who the ladies are, the actor replied: "All will become clear. For now, I'll just say Ally has a very dark and mysterious past. He's not the nice guy everyone loves."

O'Connor also explained that Hollyoaks viewers should not necessarily believe everything that Ally has told the villagers about himself.

He admitted: "Ally hasn't said much really. He's supposedly an army medic who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, but that might be a cover-up. We don't really know what's true after Callum's revelations."

Everyone needs to find out about what Mercedes did soon and she needs to be punished, although I want her to stick around and I think the writers will find a way because she is an entertaining character and this has given her a new lease of life.

Jennifer Metcalfe does a good job and is committed to the show too, so I can see Mercy sticking around unless there is a shock exit storyline for Mercedes?

The late night spinoff will debut the first 12 minutes of its latest run on the E4 website at 7.30pm tomorrow night (Friday, September 14).

Emmett Scanlan recently teased that viewers will discover "brutal" details about his character Brendan Brady's past in the upcoming episodes.

On flashback scenes involving Brendan, Scanlan said: "They reveal why Brendan's the way he is - it's the missing piece of the jigsaw puzzle.

"Ever since he arrived in Hollyoaks two years ago, there have been questions about his murky past and now we'll get the answers. The truth is shocking and brutal."

Jorgie Porter has also declared that Hollyoaks Later shows more of her character Theresa McQueen's bad girl side.

On Theresa's actions in the series, she confessed: "I thought, 'Oh my goodness, that's so out of character!' It was quite hard to deal with such a sudden change.

"I thought, 'Oh no, everyone's going to hate her now. How am I going to be a badass and still be loved?'"

all this is really intriguing! Really looking forward to Later all next week, it rarely disappoints. Think Walker is going to be at the heart of a fair bit of it. NN is a great actor.

Mercy seriously needs to get her comeuppeance and should serve a short spell for perberting the course of justice, therefore keeping her in the show, satisfying the fans and also possible giving her character a chance to take stock of her life and maybe turn it around. Or maybe she'll come out worse than ever. :eek: My god I have so many ideas for this character, lol. :)

Hollyoaks star Rob Norbury has left the soap after more than two years in the role of Riley Costello, Digital Spy can confirm.

The actor, who joined the Channel 4 show in summer 2010, is thought to have already filmed his final scenes as the footballer.

While Riley's departure has been confirmed, exact details of his exit scenes are currently being kept under wraps.

Riley's latest storyline has seen Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) manage to win him back after she framed love rival Mitzeee Minniver for attempted murder.

With Mercedes's lies spiralling out of control and Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) currently losing her grip on reality, viewers can expect more twists and turns for all three characters before Riley leaves screens.

Riley has been at the centre of some of Hollyoaks' biggest storylines in the past two years, including the WAG wedding, Silas's reign of terror and his recent relationship dramas.

Norbury is already believed to be working on his next project, a comedy drama pilot titled Training Daze.

Jorgie Porter has spoken about her upcoming sex scenes in Hollyoaks Later.

The soap actress filmed steamy scenes as her character Theresa McQueen for the late-night edition of the Channel 4 soap, alongside co-star Andrew Still.

Porter revealed that her mother banned her from showing her breasts on screen during the scenes.

"I told my mum what I was going to be doing and she said, 'You do what you think is necessary, but at the end of the day don't get your nipples out!' I've seen the pictures from the really rudey bits and they're quite shocking," she told The Sun.

"I think my grandma might need a cup of coffee at that point. We might have to take her out of the room, get her a cup and bring her back when it's finished!"

Porter revealed that she was highly nervous about filming the scenes, saying: "I don't think you can ever get psyched up for something like that, ever. We'd been prepping for it the whole time, knowing it was coming up, but when we were told it was happening that day we were really shocked and nervous.

"And as we were about to start shooting, I went, 'S**t, this is a sex scene! Oh my God!'

"But at the end of the day it's not me who's doing that, that's not my real boyfriend and you just have to get over the shock and get on with it. You take your robe off, quickly get into position and just try to quickly go through the motions while being very professional!"

The former Dancing on Ice contestant added: "I didn't have anything on, but Andrew had a modesty sock with a bobble on it.

"I don't think I've ever seen anything like that before, put into a sock - that was a strange one!"

Porter recently said that Hollyoaks Later will show Theresa's bad side.

Hollyoaks Later kicks off tonight (September 17) at 10pm on E4, and continues every night this week until Friday.

There is no reason for Walker to stick around, he has lost the plot in his revenge campaign against Brendan and even Shawnee his boss in the Police can see that.

Walker became a very intriguing and messed up character with this dark side but was also a plot device for Brendan's story arc. I do not know who dies, speculating for now.

Brendan was recently at the centre of hard-hitting scenes in E4 spinoff Hollyoaks Later, which included the revelation that he was sexually abused by his father as a child.

Brendan is definitely leaving next year, inevitable really and Emmett J Scanlan is such a talented Actor that it is obvious he would want to do other things.

It is best for the character to go out on a high, a character like Brendan has a certain amount of shelf life before the storylines get too repetitive or the audience get bored and the three years have been great. It will be tough for the TPTB at Hollyoaks HQ to replace his character when it comes to casting the new villain or villainess!

Hollyoaks' series producer Emma Smithwick is leaving the soap after more than a year in charge, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.

Smithwick has taken the decision to leave the show and will depart next Friday (October 5).

A Lime Pictures spokesperson told Digital Spy today (September 29): "After 18 months on Hollyoaks, series producer Emma Smithwick will be stepping down. Executive producers Bryan Kirkwood and Tony Wood will continue to oversee the show.

"We thank Emma for all her hard work on Hollyoaks and wish her every continued success for the future."

Meanwhile, Smithwick commented: "It has been an extraordinary 18 months on Hollyoaks, and I have been very fortunate to work with some of the most dedicated teams in the business - from cast and crew to the writers and brilliant editorial team.

"I have also had the pleasure of working with the hugely talented and capable Bryan Kirkwood, so I know that I will be leaving the show in great hands. I am so excited for the future of the show and want to thank everybody at Lime for making my time on Hollyoaks very special."

Smithwick joined Hollyoaks as series editor in spring 2011, before later being promoted to the position of series producer.

George Smith's homelessness storyline, Lynsey Nolan's shock murder, the return of Silas Blissett, and Brendan Brady's explosive feud with Walker are among the high-profile storylines which have appeared on screen during her stint at the top. Smithwick was also an executive producer of the most recent Hollyoaks Later series.

Smithwick is credited for working on growing and engaging with the show's younger audience with projects including E4 specials, the Wretch 32 stage invasion and the Savage Party event featuring Maverick Sabre.

Kirkwood, who previously produced Hollyoaks for three years until 2009, returned to Lime Pictures in April after stepping down as executive producer of EastEnders.

Not sure how to fell about her leaving, she has done a okay job but she brought in quite a few terrible characters (most of the sixth formers), but did create some good storylines and some decent new additions to the cast (Kane Family and Phoebe)

Hollyoaks bosses have announced that former Coronation Street star Nikki Sanderson has joined the cast of the soap.

The actress has landed the part of Maxine Minniver, who is the sister of established character Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton).

Maxine is billed as a "confident, lively and flirtatious bombshell", who lives her life on the edge and can spot an opportunity a mile off.

The savvy newcomer is not afraid to take risks, and has been tipped to cause fireworks as she makes her mark on Mitzeee's turf in the village.

Sanderson commented: "Being a member of the Hollyoaks team has so far been an absolute pleasure, and I am excited about what the future holds for my character. I feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful show and to be working with an amazing team."

The 28-year-old is best known for playing Candice Stowe on Coronation Street between 1999 and 2005. She also played Dawn Bellamy on Heartbeat.

Maxine's first Hollyoaks scenes will air on Tuesday, November 6 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

I am pleased with Nikki Sanderson joining the cast, although it is hilarious when characters never mention these long lost relations LOL.

As for Emma Smithwick leaving well there more positives than negatives during her era, although some things were constantly annoying e.g. continuity problems, or the teens always in your face but atm the show has listened to feedback and is giving the older characters more screentime and storylines:).

I wish her well for the future but it is good news with Bryan Kirkwood and Tony Wood overseeing the show as Executive Producers until they both hire someone to take over Emma's role.

They will lock her up in a nut house now, but I think it has been interesting storyline and they can say she started losing her mind after Mal died and getting kidnapped by Silas. I am not surprised she has lost the plot with everything that has happened to her in the last two years. Hopefully she will get better and actually become a better person and the writers dont go back to making her the towns ***** as they always do.

I hope that Mercedes is not leaving, a temporary exit could be possible which would send the character to jail and have help with her mental problems from the Silas ordeal while Jennifer Metcalfe is off to do panto.

I will miss the character and Jen a lot if it is a shock permanent exit:(:bawling:.

Hollyoaks actress Rachel Shenton has revealed she was relieved to escape the soap's jail set after shooting the scenes in which her character Mitzeee Miniver is behind bars.

The character found herself in prison after being wrongly accused of the stabbing of Mercedes McQueen - and after a brief escape is back in jail in this month's Hollyoaks Later episodes.

It was so nice to break out because every one of my scenes have been in there in solitary confinement on my own; it was really nice to work with different people.

"It was nice that she broke out in the late nights because it meant we were able to push the boundaries - I was able to swear and cry a bit more that I would have been able to in the 6.30pm slot."

Rachel added that while she was initially a fan of the jail set, the novelty soon wore off.

"At first I loved it, I'd just bring my book and chill out between scenes, it was great. But by the end of it I was like, 'Get me back in the green room'."

However she is still hopeful for a happy ending for Mitzeee after such a dramatic year.

"I'd just like her to meet someone quite nice," Rachel said. "Everyone she's been out with has s****ed her over. If she met someone nice it would be great. No one from the cast - they're all so damaged in the village!"
