For a while now a few of you have been asking where Cindy's daughter, Holly Cunningham, has got to. Well, wonder no more, as we can reveal that HOLLY IS COMING BACK TO HOLLYOAKS!

But not quite as the 12 year old child with a penhant for bunchies and play dates with Little Tom that we knew her as back then... Oh no...

You see, Holly's been away at finishing school for the past few years. And what happens when someone from Hollyoaks goes to finishing school? Why, they transform into THIS:

http://www.e4.com/media/EEWY8jckUrChXgFqzuwVem.jpg

Obviously.

Holly is played by actress, model and long time Hollyoaks-fan, Wallis Day, who says of her new role, “Holly is a really exciting character, with plenty of surprises up her sleeve, so you’d better watch to see what happens. I’m so grateful for this opportunity and I’m enjoying every minute!”

http://www.e4.com/media/uHko9aPnnINbDOkI6OUqUB.jpg

Holly will be making an appearance on our TV screens during Tuesday 13th November's E4 episode (First look) and Wednesday 14th November on C4.

The eagle-eyed among you will spot this is just in time for the huge Hollyoaks bus crash... We have a feeling things are about to get vvveeerrry interesting...

'Hollyoaks' Anna Shaffer talks Ruby, Jono and Esther - interview

Hollyoaks sixth former Ruby Button has busy times ahead on screen in the coming days as the build-up to her upcoming wedding storyline begins.

When Ruby reunites with fellow student Martin 'Jono' Johnson (Dylan Llewellyn) next week, their reignited relationship develops quickly - culminating in a surprise proposal.

As well as the romance plot, Ruby continues to be a key player in the soap's ongoing teen bullying storyline, failing to support Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) as her ordeal gets worse.

Digital Spy recently caught up with Anna Shaffer, who plays Ruby, to hear her thoughts on the latest dramas for her character.

How does Ruby and Jono's reunion come about?
"Well, when Jono decides that he wants to join the army, Ruby realises that she still has really strong feelings for him, but she doesn't know how to make him stay. But they end up getting back together after Maddie suggests it to Ruby. Maddie thinks Jono would definitely have a reason to stay if he and Ruby were back together.

"After that, Ruby tells Jono how she feels and he says that he feels the same way. Unfortunately though, he still wants to go off and join the army."

They've had various ups and downs, but do you think Ruby and Jono are actually a good match?
"I think they are a good match, but their relationship hasn't really worked before, because they've both been affected by what other people think. They've been a bit shy, nervous and too reluctant to show their true feelings.

"This time it's a much more honest relationship. You'll see them much more openly happily together as a couple."

A lot of our readers were quite angry on Ruby's behalf when Jono treated her badly earlier in the year. Do you wish she'd stood up for herself more?
"Definitely! When we were doing all those scenes, I was thinking, 'Come on Ruby, stand up for yourself - this is ridiculous!' But I could also relate to it because sometimes when you really like somebody and you want them to like you back, you're willing to accept any mistakes they make."

We know that Jono proposes with a Haribo ring next week! Does Ruby find that romantic?
"I think, bless her, Ruby is very naïve so she does find it romantic! She knows that they're very young, but she takes the Haribo ring to be a symbol of his commitment. She's very happy about it."

Jono still seems committed to joining the army, though. Is Ruby surprised that he's so interested in this idea?
"Yeah, I think she's definitely surprised because it's not anything that he's mentioned before. Jono has always been very happy to hang out with Bart, who is becoming quite lazy and much more interested in smoking weed. Jono doesn't want to turn out like Bart, but it does come as a complete shock to Ruby."

You're also quite heavily involved in Esther's bullying storyline at the moment. How do you feel about being part of that story?
"It's a great thing to be a part of, because it is such an important issue. Bullying is something that happens so often, so I think people have to constantly be aware of it.

"I think anyone can relate to bullying in some way - we all know a bully, and probably quite a few of us have been a bully at some point in our lives too. So it's great that we get a chance to tackle that issue through the storytelling on the show."

Given that they share a home, why doesn't Ruby defend Esther more?
"I think Ruby is still really stuck in that place where she's so desperate to be with the cool kids. That's especially the case once she gets back with Jono. The one thing she fears will rock the bond that she's got with Sinead, Maddie and the rest of the guys is her relationship with Esther.

"Ruby knows how they all feel about Esther, so she is torn and she does act quite badly, because she doesn't stand up to them. She wishes she could, but ultimately she cares about what other people think rather than what she thinks herself."

Do you find that frustrating when you're playing Ruby?
"I do find it really hard sometimes, especially because myself and Jazmine are such good friends in real life. I go into work thinking, 'Oh no, I don't want to be mean to Jazmine today!' But for the purposes of the story, it's important to just get on with it and do your job properly.

"I think Ruby's character is an interesting one, because she's very easily manipulated and she is very naïve. Sinead and Maddie are being bitchy and mean, but I think what Ruby is doing is almost worse because she's letting it happen and not standing up to them."

A lot of viewers seem to be waiting for the moment where Ruby changes sides and supports Esther. Do you think that could happen?
"I think it could happen, but it's so hard with Ruby because she always wants to fit in, whereas Esther is much more comfortable not fitting in. I'd definitely like to see that happen, but I don't know if it will!"

The sixth formers play a horrible prank on Esther next week which terrifies her. How involved is Ruby in that?
"In this case, it's more that she doesn't stop it from happening, rather than it being something that she's actively created with the other girls. She's much more reluctant to go along with it, but she does. Again, I think that's just as bad because the end result is still the same - Esther is really upset and continues to get bullied by everyone else.

"Ruby feels really, really guilty about it, but once again she feels torn. She can't appear to be guilty in front of the other girls because they don't share the same feeling."

Ruby started out as a bitchy character, then we saw a nicer side and now she seems to be getting nastier again! Which do you prefer playing?
"It's hard to pick, really. It is fun to play a bitchy character because you can be a bit more outrageous than you can be in your usual life! But I also definitely liked exploring the more vulnerable side to Ruby.

"Now it's a bit more frustrating because I'm thinking, 'Ruby, you were in exactly the same position that Esther was in and now you're treating her like everyone treated you!' But I think that can sometimes be what it's like when you're young - Ruby's part in the storyline is being young and naïve. Deep down inside, I think Ruby is still a good person."

Are you involved in the online initiative that Hollyoaks have created for the bullying storyline?
"Yes, we've all been doing the online stuff, which will be filtering into the show. That's really exciting as it's something completely different, and it's a good way for the younger generation to explore the bullying story further."

Do people ever confuse you with your character and expect you to be nasty?
"I think people do that all the time, actually! I guess it's almost a compliment if you play a bitchy character and people think you're really horrible, because then you're doing your job right. But I do get that sometimes - people say, 'Oh you're not bad, are you?' and I say, 'No, I'm not!'"

In real life, you're housemates with Jorgie Porter. What is she like to live with?
"She's great to live with - she has got so much energy. We always watch TV together and eat popcorn. We're obsessed with making popcorn at the moment! It's a very girly, messy house so whenever people come round they're usually shocked by how messy we are! But apart from that it's lovely!"

I hope Wallis Day and Anna Passey who will be playing Holly Cunningham and Sienna Blake respectively can act and are not cast just based on looks because sometimes the show cannot help itself on that front and it allows those people who either do not like the show, or do not watch and slag it off for the fun of it to have a go anyway!

Hollyoaks actress Jennifer Metcalfe has admitted that she worries about the future of her character Mercedes McQueen, in case producers decide to kill her off.

Speaking to Inside Soap Jennifer - who has been with the soap since 2006 - revealed that recent storylines have been so dramatic that anything could happen.

"I have wondered about it," she said. "About four years ago, I wasn't sure how much further Mercedes could go, but the writers do such a great job of keeping things fresh."

Jennifer added that she has had a great time exploring the darker side of Mercedes' personality since the writers turned the character into one of the show's villains.

"I knew Mercedes had a hidden psycho in there somewhere!" Jennifer joked."After six-and-half years the writers still wow me with what they come up with.

"As an actress they keep me challenged and I'm very happy."

Thankfully TPTB like Jennifer and Mercedes too much, so her future is safe:). I think out of the current cast her character is one will go down as a Hollyoaks legend!

Hollyoaks fans will see Cindy Longford's daughter Holly Cunningham return to the village next month, Digital Spy can confirm.

Actress and model Wallis Day is now playing the role of Holly, who is set to cause mischief as she arrives back home after two years away.

Back from finishing school, Holly seems to be a well-mannered and sophisticated 14-year-old at first glance. However, her true bratty nature is soon revealed and it seems that she could be a mini-Cindy.

Having had a taste of the good life during her time away, Holly isn't prepared to give it up anytime soon - but her naughty antics will cause mayhem in the village.

Cindy, meanwhile, is oblivious to her daughter's faults and seems unaware that she is resented by Holly for her unstable childhood.

Speaking of her new role, Day commented: "I am thrilled to have been cast as Holly Cunningham as I've been a fan of Hollyoaks for many years. The whole team have been so welcoming and really friendly - it's like being part of a large family and they've taught me so much already.

"Holly is a really exciting character with plenty of surprises up her sleeve, so you'd better watch to see what happens. I'm so grateful for this opportunity and I'm enjoying every minute!"

Holly's return scenes air on Wednesday, November 14 on Channel 4.

Meanwhile, Digital Spy can also confirm that the role of Dodger Savage's twin sister Sienna Blake has been recast.

Sienna will now be played by actress Anna Passey when she makes her debut on screen in November.

'Hollyoaks' Kieron Richardson talks Ste rage, love plots

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/18/M/soaps_hollyoaks_kieron_richardson.jpg

Hollyoaks has a big week lined up for Ste Hay as his mother Pauline makes a surprise return to the village, sending him into turmoil.

Thrown by Pauline's arrival and the fact that his boyfriend Doug Carter (PJ Brennan) invited her, Ste finds his bad temper returning and ends up trashing the deli in a rage - only for ex-lover Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan) to unexpectedly come to the rescue.

Digital Spy recently caught up with Kieron Richardson, who plays Ste, to hear about this week's storyline and the latest on the 'Stendan' and 'Stug' love triangle.

How does Pauline's return to the village come about?
"In the build-up to Pauline coming back, Ste is feeling quite low as he thinks that he hasn't really got any friends. There's been a memorial for Riley with a lot of lad banter, which Ste can't join in with. He ends up feeling quite isolated and he turns to drink after that. Ste is just a bit depressed in general, because he doesn't have family he can rely on like Doug does, and Amy has left now too.

"Doug's answer to all of this is to ring up Ste's mum, as he thinks Ste must be missing his family. Doug isn't really aware of the past between Ste and Pauline so he thinks he's doing a good thing, when in actual fact he's opening a big can of worms that Ste thought he'd got rid of.

"When Pauline turns up, it's a complete shock to Ste because they've had no contact at all in the past three years. But all of a sudden, she's there on the doorstep!"

For the benefit of newer viewers, can you remind us of Ste's relationship with his mum?
"What regular viewers will know is that Ste was brought up in an abusive background, with his stepdad beating him up. His mum was an alcoholic, so he's never really had any loving family whatsoever. That explains why he went off the rails, stole cars and beat up Amy - he'd only ever known abuse in his life.

"The last scenes we saw with Pauline involved her stealing money from Il Gnosh, where Ste used to work with Tony. Her parting words were that she wished Ste had never been born, so there's certainly no love lost between them!

"They haven't spoke at all since then, so Pauline doesn't know about Ste's sexuality, she's never met baby Lucas, she doesn't know about Brendan and she definitely doesn't know about Doug. She's got a lot to find out about!"

It soon becomes clear that Pauline hasn't changed her nasty ways. Does Ste stand up to her, or will we see her walk all over him?
"Pauline definitely gets under Ste's skin and she gets him in an emotional state, but I don't think he's afraid to say exactly how he feels about her. It's an interesting situation because the way Ste reacts is something that Doug has never seen before. She takes him back to a place from his past - a bit of a dark place.

"As Ste is struggling to cope, he goes to the deli and smashes up the shop. So I think it's nice that we're keeping bits of the old Ste, and now introducing it into the 'Stug' and 'Stendan' relationship storylines."

How did you find getting into such an angry state for those scenes at the deli?
"I actually think it's great for any actor to get themselves into that place. It's not every day you can come into work and have someone say, 'Here you go - smash up a shop and throw some plates at the walls!' If you've had a bad day or a bad week, it's great to get all of your anger out!"

How does Brendan react when he sees Ste smashing up the deli?
"Well, what's nice is that recently we've understood a lot about Brendan's past and how he's been treated, and now we're revisiting Ste's background. When Brendan finally sees Ste in such an angry state, they have this really nice heart-to-heart in the deli where they're both sitting on the floor.

"Ste says to Brendan, 'We're both the same, really. I've given you a hard time over these past two years for your behaviour, when in actual fact I'm the same as you'. So they have this nice conversation, but then Doug walks in and automatically thinks that something has gone on between Ste and Brendan.

"It actually hasn't, though! If anything, Brendan says to Ste, 'If there's anyone you should be with, it should be Doug'. So we get to see a nice side of Brendan too."

Does Doug see Pauline's true colours, or is he fooled by her?
"I think Doug can pick up on what's going on, but he doesn't fully understand at first. The more that Pauline is there, he does see the way that she's speaking to Ste, and he tells her to watch her behaviour in a few scenes."

Brendan ends up paying Pauline to leave the village. Does Ste know about that?
"No, Ste is completely unaware of that. Recently we've seen Brendan say that he's bought the shop for Ste, he's bought the flat for Ste - and I think this is another example of Brendan trying to control Ste's life without him being aware.

"Brendan is making sure Ste is alright and he obviously sees that Pauline is a problem, so he pays her off to leave him alone."

After so many arguments and problems between Ste and Doug, do you think maybe they're not as well-suited as they thought?
"I think it's just teething problems - as with any relationship, you're going to argue at the beginning. You have a loved-up period, but then there'll be little squabbles. The only thing that's different about this relationship is that Brendan is always looming. It's like there's always three people in the relationship, so it'll be interesting to see how it unfolds."

Could you give a definitive answer over who Ste loves more?
"I still always sit on the fence with this question, because I love working with both Emmett and PJ individually, and they're both very talented actors. The characters of Brendan and Doug have also got completely different qualities in their relationships with Ste.

"With Brendan, I always envisage that they have amazing sex, but they're just not good for each other because there is domestic violence involved. Then with Doug, I always feel that Ste can be himself more, he can have more of a laugh and it's a less controlling relationship. I'd also say Doug is more of a gentle lover towards him.

"So they both have different qualities, and I think Ste is definitely in love with both of them. But I guess it's up to the audience to decide which one he loves the most, because he definitely can't make the decision himself yet."

Being on Twitter, do you get a sense of which relationship is most popular with fans?
"The 'Stendan' relationship has been going on longer than the 'Stug' one, so those fans are really, really passionate. But now the 'Stug' fanbase have got their own thing going on too, and it's really nice that they're also so passionate about the storyline and can't wait to find out what happens next.

"I've also noticed on Twitter that the two fanbases fight with each other and they start picking on each other! I try not to get too involved, but it's nice that they love it and that we can get a reaction."

We asked for questions on Twitter and heard that some 'Stug' fans are losing hope for their future after some of the recent spoilers. Is there anything positive you'd say about those two?
"What I would say is that last week we released a video which said that a marriage is going to happen. For the two of them to get married, they must definitely be in love. It's no secret that there's going to be a big incident at the wedding, but people will have to tune in to see it. It's really exciting, though.

"People think they know the answer to everything, but they don't. Hollyoaks is there to shock, and I think what's coming up is going to leave a lot of people with their jaw wide open. Twitter is going to go off the scale!"

As you're such a big Cheryl Cole fan, another viewer tweeted us to ask what three words you'd say to her if you ever met - apart from 'I love you'!
"I'd love her to follow me on Twitter, so I'd probably say, 'Please follow me' or 'Giz your number!' I don't know why I'm absolutely obsessed with her, but I am. She's on my Twitter profile, I've got her book and fans even send me Cheryl Cole presents all the time. I've been sent Cheryl Cole posters, a Cheryl Cole mug, Cheryl Cole bottle openers. She tweeted me once, but she's still yet to follow me. Maybe it will happen one day!"

'Hollyoaks': Lacey Kane kisses Ally Gorman

Hollyoaks sixth former Lacey Kane makes a move on Ally Gorman next week as her crush on the mysterious Australian intensifies.

Lacey (Georgia Bourke) is jealous of her sister Ash's relationship with Ally (Dan O'Connor), so she decides to provide some competition by trying to turn the army medic's head in the coming days.

One of Lacey's first attempts sees her deliberately walk past Ally in just a towel, and she is encouraged when her antics appear to impress the object of her affections.

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/43/618x429/soaps_hollyoaks_3467_2.jpg

Later in the week, Lacey steps up her scheming by inviting fellow student Neil Cooper (Tosin Cole) around to the Kane residence and engineering a row between him and Ally.

When Lacey hints that girl-crazy Neil is being too forward with her, Ally pins him up against the wall and warns him off.

Once Neil has gone, Lacey expresses her gratitude to Ally, but her efforts to thank him take an unexpected turn when she leans in for a kiss…

'Hollyoaks': Brendan's heartbreak over Ste

Hollyoaks bad boy Brendan Brady is finally honest with himself when it comes to his feelings for Ste Hay next week, but is he too late to secure a future with the deli owner?

Last night (October 29), E4's first look airing saw Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) seek guidance from Father Des, and he spends even more time trying to ease his guilt with help from the priest early next week.

Camped out at a parochial house and also visiting church, Brendan has time for reflection and ends up bonding with a cheeky 7-year-old girl named Daisy, who is seriously ill with kidney disease.

When Brendan confides in Daisy about some of his problems, she surprises him with some wise advice - pointing out that he can't be all bad if he genuinely loved Ste (Kieron Richardson).

Later, Brendan catches up with Cheryl (Bronagh Waugh) but is devastated when a wedding invite from Ste and Doug falls out of her bag.

Seeing the invite is enough to help a crushed Brendan concede that he loves Ste and is scared of losing him forever, but will he ever be brave enough to say this directly to Ste?

'Hollyoaks' Nikki Sanderson talks joining show, Maxine role

http://i2.cdnds.net/11/32/M/showbiz_nikki_sanderson.jpg

Hollyoaks shakes up Mitzeee Minniver's life once again next week as her sister Maxine arrives in the village unexpectedly.

Played by former Coronation Street actress Nikki Sanderson, newcomer Maxine hasn't been in contact with Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) for years after they fell out over a man - which leads to fireworks when they come face-to-face again.

A downbeat Mitzeee has just been released from prison on bail when she realises that Maxine is back in her life. Could Maxine's arrival be just what Mitzeee needs, or will old wounds be reopened?

Digital Spy recently caught up with Nikki to hear more about the role of Maxine and how she's finding her new soap job.

How is your time at Hollyoaks going so far?
"It's going brilliantly and I'm having a fantastic time working with everybody. Hollyoaks is a wonderful place to work as everybody is so nice and welcoming. I feel like I've settled in really well and I've been really lucky with how it's all turned out."

Were you friends with any of the cast before joining the show?
"I wasn't friends with anybody, but I have met people briefly in the past at different events. I suppose I was quite lucky in that sense, because it meant that the experience wasn't quite so new to me. Since joining, though, I would actually class some of the cast as my friends now, rather than just work acquaintances.

"Everyone is so lovely on the show and there's a great atmosphere. Within cast, crew and production, everyone gets on so well. I've made friends with people very quickly."

What was your first day on set like?
"My first day was brilliant! I was filming with Rachel Shenton who plays Mitzeee, and Nicole Barber-Lane who plays Myra McQueen. It was brilliant and the pair of them were great with me. I had a really good day and I came away thinking, 'If every day is like this then I'm sorted!' It's been like that every day since then, too.

"One of those first scenes was filming in the McQueen house and that was quite good, because it's an iconic place for Hollyoaks and I was working with two fantastic people from the show. The scenes weren't too complex so I felt like I was eased in quite well!"

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/39/618x412/nikki-sanderson-as-maxine_1.jpg

Did you audition for Hollyoaks or did they approach you to play Maxine?
"It was actually a bit of both, to be honest. I didn't actually audition at Hollyoaks. I was doing a play in Manchester called Fetish Nights Re:Bound and the writer of that play, Rob Ellis, actually writes for Hollyoaks as well. A few people from Hollyoaks came to watch the show, and it was from watching me in the play that they approached me regarding playing the role of Maxine.

"After that, we had a meeting and it went from there because Rob was writing a new character into Hollyoaks. I'm really lucky."

Had you watched the show much before joining?
"Yeah, I've always watched Hollyoaks. I must admit, I didn't watch every single episode, but I did watch the show when I could. Once I got the role, that was when I started watching every single episode because I wanted to learn who everybody was, the threads between them and how the characters all worked together. I was cramming a lot in so that I could learn more about it."

Has it been easy to adjust back into the fast-paced soap world?
"Yeah, it has been - I think it's like riding a bike! I found it quite easy and it was more a case of learning how everything works at Hollyoaks and getting used to the building, because it's huge and I was trying not to get lost! That's what I had to pick up, but I slotted back into the filming schedule quite quickly."

How would you describe the character of Maxine?
"Maxine is a really interesting character to play. I think she has got a heart and she is lovely, but she just doesn't show it at first! When she first arrives, she's more interested in herself and how everyone should fit into her life, rather than her fitting into theirs.

"She's also a little bit of a conwoman. Maxine comes in with a bang and cons pretty much everybody in the village in her first day. She thinks it's fine as she's never going to see them again, only to see them later on in the pub and have to face the music! Everyone she conned is there, and you'll see that everything goes a little bit wrong for Maxine - especially when she sees her sister…"

What is the relationship between Maxine and Mitzeee like?
"In the past, Maxine has done the dirty on her sister by stealing her fiancé five years before. She hasn't actually spoken to Mitzeee since then, but she turns up and expects to be welcomed with open arms - quite ignorantly considering what she's done in the past.

"So Maxine doesn't quite get the reception she was expecting from Mitzeee. You'll also notice that Maxine calls her sister 'Ann', because she's never known her as Mitzeee."

Does Maxine now feel guilty for what she did to Mitzeee five years ago?
"I don't think she does at first, as she's quite ignorant and quite selfish. Maxine thinks that Mitzeee should get over it as it was such a long time ago. It's only as Maxine starts speaking to Ann that she realises the impact it had on her life.

"That's when Maxine stops and thinks about it. She realises that she actually did cause a lot of pain for her younger sister. I don't think she'd realised what she'd caused until now. Maxine was looking after number one, but she sees that she did the wrong thing and maybe she shouldn't have turned up to see Mitzeee after all."

There are a few single guys in the village at the moment. Will any of them catch Maxine's eye?
"I don't think I can tell you that just yet! Let's just say that Maxine has just finished with her fiancé and I'm sure at some point in the future, a few people will catch Maxine's eye. Maybe they'll catch Mitzeee's eye too! I think there's going to be a lot of fun between the sisters."

Mitzeee has become a lot more serious following her recent troubles. Will Maxine's arrival see Mitzeee back to her old self?
"We'll have to see! What I will say is that Maxine and Mitzeee are very, very similar, as they grew up together.

"Through all of the negative and quite horrible stuff that Mitzeee has been through, understandably she's gone a little bit more into her shell. But with the arrival of Maxine, we'll just have to wait and see whether she can cheer her up and bring Mitzeee back."

Have Hollyoaks given you room to put your own stamp on Maxine?
"Well to be honest, the character has been fantastic from the beginning and the storylines that I'm getting are brilliant. Hollyoaks are really good in the sense that you can have input and speak to the scriptwriters and story editors, but so far I haven't needed to do anything like that. I'm really enjoying playing the role and doing the things that they've written for her."

Seven years on from Coronation Street, do you have fond memories of the show?
"Oh gosh yes, of course I do. I'll always think of Coronation Street very highly and it will always have a special place in my heart. I was there for a long time, I still speak to people there and I still watch the show. I'll always have fond memories of it."

Have any of your Corrie friends been in touch to congratulate you for your Hollyoaks role?
"Yeah, I've had a few messages. I'm very grateful that I've had those messages congratulating me and wishing me luck - it's lovely. I think it's always nice when people are there for you and I've had some very encouraging things said to me."

Nikki Sanderson on 'Hollyoaks' entrance: 'I got slapped for real'

Nikki Sanderson has revealed that she was slapped for real when filming her debut scenes on Hollyoaks.

The former Coronation Street star was cast as Mitzeee Minniver's (Rachel Shenton) sister Maxine in September, and makes her debut in the soap next week.

Maxine makes her return to the village five years after running off with Mitzeee's fiancé, meaning that she receives a somewhat frosty reception on arrival.

Sanderson told MSN: "[Maxine] just turns up and expects a cuddle - let's just say she doesn't get a cuddle."

The 28-year-old also claimed that she was at pains to make the confrontation as realistic as possible, revealing: "I said to Rachel to actually slap me, because I feel with a slap sometimes it can look really eggy if you move your head and you've not really been hit.

"I said to her, 'Don't give it 100%, maybe 50%!'"

Sanderson also promised fireworks from Maxine in upcoming episodes of the soap, saying: "They've given me such a wonderful way of coming into the show, it's fantastic. She just literally lands in the middle of Hollyoaks and decides to pretty much con everybody that she meets on the way through."

Maxine sounds fun:D. Hope she lives up to her reputation and brings back the lively Mitzeee we all like after all that drama!

Bart is driving a car behind the bus, so my theory is he could possibly be arrested anyway because of being drugged up before the crash, so that would be a way to get rid of another character. Esther will feel more isolated after because she was in the car with him and that everyone would blame her!

'Hollyoaks' Georgia Bourke talks Lacey, Ally shocks:

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/30/M/lacey-kane.jpg

Hollyoaks sixth former Lacey Kane makes a move on older guy Ally Gorman next week, convinced that there is a romantic spark between them.

Lacey shared a moment with Ally (Dan O'Connor) earlier this month and is now keen for things to develop further, even though the mysterious Australian is her sister Ash's boyfriend.

Keen to impress Ally, Lacey starts dressing more provocatively around the Kane house before finally attempting to kiss him - but will she get the reaction she is hoping for?

Digital Spy recently caught up with Georgia Bourke, who plays Lacey, to hear about the shock storyline and more.

What has this storyline been like to film?
"I didn't really see it coming so it was a bit of a shock, but it has been quite fun to film. It's something different, so I think it makes a nice change for the character of Lacey."

Why is Lacey tempted to betray her own sister by pursuing Ally?
"I think part of the reason for that is Lacey and Ash have a bit of a strange relationship anyway. Lacey went out of the family home for quite a few years while she was away at boarding school, so I don't think they've become as close as you would expect.

"Also, Lacey is not a very good judge of character when it comes to boys. As soon as she thinks Ally is showing her a bit of attention, she's keen to jump onto that regardless of the consequences."

Does Lacey feel any guilt about what she's doing?
"I think there are probably a few moments when Lacey realises that it's wrong, but she also thinks that Ally is spurring her on. She's encouraged by that and she's not thinking too much about the fact that it's her sister's boyfriend. To Lacey, he's just this man who's living in her house and giving her attention. She's quite flattered by that."

Has Lacey always liked Ally?
"I wouldn't say she's liked him from day one. When Ally first moved in, her attention was focused on Dylan at college. But when Lacey and Ally were playing Aussie Rules in the park and fell to the ground, there was a moment between them. Since that point, Lacey has always thought that there is something between them, and it's built from there.

"Now Lacey wants things to go further, so at the beginning she plays it cool and it builds over time. Once she thinks that she's getting something back from Ally, she'll step it up a notch."

How does Ally react when Lacey walks around the house in just a towel to impress him?
"Ally is a bit shocked! He obviously sees her as the little girl of the house because she's the youngest in the family, so I think that shocks him. But on the flip side, I think Ally is flattered because he's now got attention from both of the Kane sisters. He's not going to tell her to stop anytime soon."

Lacey also invites Neil around and provokes a row by hinting that he's being too forward…
"She does, and again, that's another example of her trying to get Ally to show his affection towards her. Lacey is not really that bothered that Neil is being left in the firing line because of that - she's just using him to get the reaction she wants from Ally."

How does Lacey and Ally's kissing scene come about?
"The kiss happens directly after Ally has pinned Neil up against the wall to warn him off. From that, Lacey has decided that Ally does fancy her - she's definitely got the reaction that she wanted.

"Lacey thinks that's the perfect opportunity to kiss him, so it'll be interesting to see how Ally reacts to that because I don't think he's expecting it!"

Do Ash and Callum pick up on any of the goings-on between Lacey and Ally?
"They don't, because up until the kiss it's all been quite subtle. It's just been the odd look or glance - nothing too obvious. Lacey is also quite careful with what she's doing. Although she doesn't care too much about Ash and her feelings, she knows that it shouldn't be happening, so she'll only pursue Ally when nobody else is around."

How do you think Ash would react if she found out?
"I don't think she'd be too happy! I think she'd be shocked at both Ally and Lacey. Her pride is important to her, so she'd probably just go berserk, I imagine!"

Does Lacey see the kiss as the start of something?
"I think she's certainly hoping that something more could develop. Lacey is under the impression that Ally fancies her, so she's really keen to move things forward. She hopes that kissing Ally will perhaps be the start of a relationship."

Were you nervous about filming the kissing scene with Dan?
"It's just part of the job, really. Dan is lovely and we get on well, so it's fine. It wasn't too painful! By that point, we'd done a whole day of filming, so it was just part of the scenes that we were doing and I wasn't too nervous coming towards it. It's always a little bit awkward filming kissing scenes, but it wasn't too bad."

How much of a mistake are the Kanes making by trusting Ally?
"From watching the programme I think they're making a big, big mistake! He's a very, very dodgy character and I think it's clear to the audience that whatever he says is not quite the truth.

"The Kanes don't even know who he is or where he's come from, but they've allowed him into their house and trusted him completely. I think that's probably a massive, massive mistake."

We've waited a long time to find out more about Ally and what he's up to. Are answers coming?
"Yeah, I'd definitely say that explanations are on the way. By Lacey and Ally having this interaction, it's going to maybe bring up more drama and there'll be more developments coming up. You're definitely on the way to finding out who Ally is and what he's about…"

Now that Martha is back on the scene, can the Kane kids ever forgive her?
"You can never say never, but I think especially with Ally around, that's going to be a long, long battle. Martha is very determined, but on the flip side, the kids are very stubborn. They all think they know best so a resolution is never going to be easy, but maybe it will happen over time."

Is there any hope for Lacey and Dylan?
"I think there's some hope for them and it's a shame how things have turned out, because Dylan has been lovely. Really Dylan is what Lacey is looking for - someone who is showing her some attention. For now, Lacey's sights are set on Ally and for the immediate future, that's where her attentions are going to lie, but who knows?"

Do you enjoy working with Mikey, who plays the role of Dylan?
"Yeah, I've really enjoyed working with Mikey. I was in his audition right at the beginning, so I've known him for quite a while now. It's nice to see him come out of his shell, and he's really getting on well at Hollyoaks - he's doing a great job. It's been really nice to see that and he's a really sweet guy."

Do Lacey and Phoebe have more scenes on the way?
"Yes, there are a few more scenes on the way, which I'm quite looking forward to. I really like their friendship and I think they work well together. It's not your typical friendship, and there'll definitely be more depth between them as they learn a bit more about each other."

Could Lacey become a friend to Esther as her bullying ordeal worsens?
"I hope so, because there's been moments in the past which show that Lacey is on Esther's side. The thing with Lacey is that she is quite selfish and self-absorbed, so at the moment, her attention is focused on Ally and she's not completely aware of what's going on with the other sixth formers.

"If something was immediately put in front of her - a situation where Esther was being bullied - I think she would stick up for what's right. I hope they can be friends because Lacey needs more friends, and Esther definitely does! It might or might not happen, we'll have to wait and see."

Nikki Sanderson says her new Hollyoaks character Maxine Minniver will be eyeing up the hot men in the village.

http://news.google.co.uk/news/tbn/sS7mcLaSIjYJ/6.jpg

Maxine is set to make a dramatic entrance on the soap next week, five years after she nicked her sister Mitzeee's man and ran off to Spain with him.

And Nikki said of Maxine, who arrives single: "Let's just say she's a young lady and she does have an eye for the men and she does have a look, but as to who I will get with or who I will flirt with, I can't say, my lips are sealed."

But she added: "I think because she's just come over from Spain and leaving someone, I actually don't know who and when and what, and if there's going to be a relationship for her."

Mitzeee and Maxine may have a tense relationship on Hollyoaks, but former Corrie actress Nikki said she and actress Rachel Shenton, who plays Mitzeee, are getting on brilliantly.

"I feel very lucky because working so closely with someone for such an extended period of time, if you didn't get on it would be awful, but Rachel and I get on like a house on fire, we get on so well and I would say now that I class her as a friend rather than as a work colleague.

"We're getting on really well off-screen so people will hopefully see the camaraderie between us on-screen."

James Sutton's Hollyoaks return storyline 'has never been done before'

James Sutton's comeback storyline in Hollyoaks has "never been used in a soap", according to friend Pete Price.

Sutton's legendary character John Paul will return to the village before the end of the year, but the plot remains a secret.

http://i2.cdnds.net/10/06/soaps_emmerdale_james_sutton_0.jpg

Price, also a well-known local radio presenter, told the Liverpool Echo: "The role as John Paul is gritty, emotional, sympathetic, controversial with lots of snogging.

"The storyline that he is coming back with has never been used in a soap."

Price also confirmed the exact timing of Sutton's reprisal of his troubled character, adding that John Paul will be "back on screen just before Christmas".

John Paul fled the village after his half brother Niall killed his half sister during a church explosion.

James Sutton, whose return to Hollyoaks after four years was announced last month, starred as Emmerdale's Ryan Lamb between 2009 and 2011.

'Hollyoaks' Jorgie Porter: 'Nikki Sanderson is a great addition'

Jorgie Porter has praised Nikki Sanderson, saying that the actress is a "great addition" to Hollyoaks.

Former Coronation Street star Sanderson has joined the soap as Maxine Minniver, sister to Mitzeee, and Porter predicted a bright future for her in the village.

"I absolutely love Nikki. I think she's so grounded, normal and down-to-earth, a really lovely girl. She'll be a great little addition to us all. She's going to be really fun and fit in really well I think," she told What's on TV.

Porter, who plays Theresa McQueen, also hinted at Theresa and Maxine's relationship on-screen.

"Theresa used to absolutely be in awe of Mitzeee so hopefully she'll be in awe of Maxine too. Because sometimes girls do that, don't they - have girl crushes," she explained.

Sanderson is due to appear in Chester from next week.

'Hollyoaks': Maddie Morrison kisses Jono

Hollyoaks sixth former Maddie Morrison betrays her friend Ruby Button next week by sharing an unexpected kiss with Jono.

Maddie (Scarlett Bowman) has pushed young lovers Ruby and Jono back together in recent episodes, but that doesn't stop her from making a move on Jono on the eve of his wedding.

The story development comes as Ruby (Anna Shaffer) and Jono (Dylan Llewellyn) have a joint stag and hen party with their friends from college.

At first the atmosphere is positive as the couple share a first dance, knowing that they won't get a chance to do so after their Gretna Green ceremony. However, Maddie can't help but feel awkward when her ex-boyfriend Callum (Laurie Duncan) arrives.

Upset over the way things turned out with Callum, a vulnerable Maddie feels comforted when Jono flatters her during a private moment.

Suddenly, Maddie kisses Jono - unaware that Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) is watching them.

When Maddie realises what Esther knows, she threatens to destroy her if she spills the beans. How will Esther react to Maddie's warning?

'Hollyoaks': Stephanie Waring "excited" over Holly return

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring has praised her new on-screen daughter Wallis Day, describing the soap's new recruit as "ridiculously stunning".

Show bosses recently announced that Day had been cast in the role of Holly Cunningham, who is returning to the village next week after time away at boarding school.

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/43/300x225/holly2.jpg

Holly has been tipped to cause mischief when she arrives back, with a well-mannered and sophisticated exterior initially disguising her true bratty nature.

Waring told Digital Spy of Holly's return: "I absolutely adore Wallis already - we've bonded so much in such a short space of time. Wallis is actually older than Holly, so I'm not happy about having an 18-year-old daughter, because I don't look old enough!

"But obviously Holly is 14, so she's a lot younger than Wallis. I was 18 when I was playing Cindy as 15, so it's the same sort of scenario. Wallis reminds me of me, but she's a lot more beautiful than I was! She's ridiculously stunning."

The actress continued: "I'm excited to work with her and I think she's going to be a little bit of a mini-Cindy, but maybe even worse!

"With some of the lines she's got I think, 'Oh my God, you can't say that!' It'll be interesting to see how the audience reacts to that, but I certainly like her."

Holly's return scenes air on Wednesday, November 14 at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as she turns up for Cindy's wedding to Tony Hutchinson.

'Hollyoaks' PJ Brennan talks wedding day disaster

Hollyoaks' Doug Carter is involved in some of the soap's biggest scenes ever next week as disaster strikes on the day of his wedding to Ste Hay.

Doug and Ste are sharing a joint ceremony with Tony Hutchinson and Cindy Longford, but all four characters and their guests face terrible danger when the sixth formers plough through the venue in an out-of-control mini-bus, causing a pillar to collapse and the roof to cave in.

Digital Spy recently caught up with PJ Brennan, who plays Doug, to hear about his character's role in the dramatic episodes.

How have you found being involved in this huge storyline?
"It's been fantastic. For Doug, this has been building up since March when his storyline with Ste began, and this is a culmination of everything we've been doing. There's been a steady build-up to this moment and it's been great.

"Filming the episodes was hard work and the location shoots were very long hours, because we had some terrible weather to deal with. But we all fought through it with a good attitude and it's been really satisfying to film. I've already seen little clips and I think it's going to be really, really good to watch. I was gasping and I know what happens!"

What was your first reaction when you found out about the crash?
"It's a really dramatic storyline, so I think all of us were very, very excited. It can be tricky, because although you try to be objective about the storylines, I'm probably someone who is very concerned about my character's welfare - I forget that he's fake!

"I was a bit nervous for that reason, but once we got the specifics, I could see that it was very solid material. I think it's a really good reflection of the direction that we're going in at Hollyoaks. We're going back to the show's soap roots and doing some big, bombastic storylines."

How long did it take to film the episodes?
"In terms of being on-location, it was a full week. I wasn't there every day, but they devoted two days to the actual stunts. It was 8am to 8pm every day and it was a full, solid week of being on location for the cast and crew."

Is Doug one of the characters in danger when the crash happens?
"He's definitely in danger! Anyone who is at the wedding is in danger considering that a bus ploughs through the venue, so he's certainly at risk. It also comes at the worst time possible, because there's a gigantic reveal between Ste and Doug just before the crash occurs. At that point, the secret is revealed that Doug has gone behind Ste's back to take out Brendan…"

When it comes to the big scenes, how much is genuine and how much is special effects?
"Well, they got a really good team of stunt doubles in, and we spent a few hours just watching them do their work. Obviously they're professionals and they're fantastic, so a lot of the human involvement in the accident is genuine. I know that there were a couple of injuries, so ask those stunt doubles and they'll tell you it was definitely human involvement!

"We did see the actual crash itself, and I think it looks fantastic given that it's a mix of real-life people and CGI effects. I don't think you can really tell when it comes to the special effects. It's a perfect blend. Hollyoaks have invested a lot of money and time into this storyline, and I think it's paid off."

As well as the stunts and explosion, are the episodes also emotional to watch?
"Absolutely. I had the hardest day I've ever had at work when I was filming this week of episodes. I've never had a day that demanded so much in terms of the depths of emotions I had to go to, but that was very satisfying as an actor.

"You can definitely expect big emotions because of the number of characters involved. It becomes very, very dramatic for many characters in the village. You'll have to tune in to see exactly why, but there's a lot that the characters need to work through, both before and after the crash."

Do you think Doug and Ste are getting married for the right reasons?
"I don't know! I just have to answer that by saying that I've enjoyed playing this storyline since its inception, because it's really complex and there's a lot of grey areas. From some of the reactions I've seen, a lot of people want to look at the story in black and white. They want it to be a fact that either Ste loves Doug, or Ste loves Brendan.

"I think what's nice about the story is that we're actually witnessing three people who are orbiting around each other and trying to figure out exactly what it is they feel for each other. All I'd say is that Doug would hope the wedding is for the right reasons. All Doug can do is hope."

Why does Doug go ahead with the scheme to get rid of Brendan?
"Doug's insecurities have been building and building. I try not to comment on my character's behaviour by putting a positive or negative spin on it, but Doug has decided that the best choice to make is to get Brendan out of the picture completely. Doug feels that his relationship will never be able to work until Brendan is removed.

"The choice he makes is to go and find Shawnee and use the police to bring Brendan down. That's interesting because in a way Doug is rejecting his own chequered history and past, but it's just a very tricky situation.

"It seems to keep happening that at very profound moments for Ste, Brendan shows up. There are moments where Doug loses his patience with it, and he can't do it anymore."

'Stug' and 'Stendan' both have very passionate fanbases. Do you think Hollyoaks has a tricky task when it comes to keeping both sets of fans happy?
"100%! I hesitate to even use the phrases 'Stug' and 'Stendan', because I think they distract from what we're actually trying to do in the show. They start to eliminate the actual story, which is about three characters, not two.

"It's great that people enjoy the storyline because that's why we make television - so that people watch it and enjoy it. But there are some arguments between the fanbases and I've seen some disrespect on both sides, so I really try not to get involved in that whole thing!"
Are you pleased with how the Channel 4 promo (above) for the episodes has turned out?
"I think it looks incredible. I'm pleased because I'm in it for more then 0.2 seconds! I've done two other promos where I was there all day, but I was in them for a flash! I think the bit with Scarlett Bowman, who plays Maddie, is the best moment in this one. I've watched that bit about a thousand times and I think she looks incredible in it.

"I love that the promo is all about the subtext. It doesn't really give anything away, so for all those audience members who think we're giving clues away like a Beatles album, I don't think we are! It's more artistic than anything else but it looks really good. I had a great day filming it."

Will there be a cast screening for the episodes?
"I hope so! I know that we did it for the Savage Party week, and I actually did enjoy that. I do watch myself as I'm my own worst critic, so I do like to go back occasionally to get an idea of what I need to work on, and what I think worked or didn't.

"I think everyone is 100% excited about this week and the atmosphere was really positive on set, so we should follow that through and celebrate together because what we've done for this week is a big achievement."

'Hollyoaks': Danny Mac teases Dodger's father debut

Hollyoaks star Danny Mac has revealed details of Dodger Savage's first meeting with his biological father Patrick Blake.

Last month, show bosses announced that former Coronation Street star Jeremy Sheffield had been cast as Patrick for upcoming scenes which see Dodger track down his long-lost dad.

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/08/300x225/dodger-2.jpg

http://i2.cdnds.net/11/41/tv_jeremy_sheffield.jpg

When Dodger finally gets Patrick's address in a future episode, he heads off to pay him a visit - bringing along Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) for moral support.

Mac told All About Soap: "Darren suggests he goes to visit Patrick and pretend to be gathering information for the census! Dodger's shocked when he first sees Patrick's house - it's huge with expensive cars on the driveway. It's the opposite to the place where Dodger grew up.

"As Dodger and Darren arrive at the house, they see a girl who later turns out to be Patrick's daughter Sienna. When Dodger meets Patrick, he's struck by what a decent, charming, handsome bloke he is. But when Dodger reveals he's his son, he doesn't get the reaction he was hoping."

The actor continued: "[Patrick is] adamant that his son Mark - which is Dodger's real name - is dead, because that's what Dodger's mum Anne told him years ago. It's an afternoon of bombshells because after Dodger proves his real identity, Patrick reveals Sienna is his twin sister."

Hollyoaks first announced the twin twist in early October and actress Anna Passey is playing the role of Sienna.

Asked where the story heads next, Mac explained: "You'll be seeing a lot more of Patrick and Sienna in the village in the next few weeks, as they try to build a relationship with Dodger. Suddenly Dodger has two families, so it'll be fun to see how it all plays out."

He added: "You're going to see him pulled in about a hundred different directions in terms of family. It's going to be a whirlwind for him - horrible, but very exciting."

'Hollyoaks': Stephanie Waring expects sad Cindy, Tony outcome

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring has admitted that Cindy Longford and Tony Hutchinson's relationship may be doomed even if they manage to survive the soap's upcoming wedding day disaster.

The actress confessed that she cannot see a future for the pair as Cindy appears to have fallen for Rhys Ashworth (Andrew Moss) during their recent fling.

Tony (Nick Pickard) is set to find out about the affair within the next few days, but he goes ahead with the wedding plans regardless - secretly planning to humiliate Cindy by publicly exposing her infidelity at the ceremony.

In the end, a torn Tony opts not to go ahead with his revenge plan and the wedding proceeds without a hitch. However, when Tony spots Cindy preparing to run away with Rhys at the reception, he doesn't have time to react as the sixth formers' out-of-control mini-bus comes ploughing through the venue.

Waring told All About Soap of the scenes: "At the wedding, Rhys has decided to leave Hollyoaks and asks Cindy to go with him. Her head is saying stay with Tony, but her heart belongs to Rhys. She makes the choice to run away with Rhys, and Tony spots them - just as she looks up and sees the bus coming right for them!"

Asked what could happen if Cindy survives, the actress replied: "There'd be a lot of repercussions following her decision to run away with Rhys on her wedding day. She has a load of secrets. I don't know if she and Tony could have a happy marriage - I'm not sure they can recover from her leaving Tony for another man on their wedding day. It's unforgivable and the final nail in the coffin."

Waring also confessed that she regards Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) as the best match for Cindy, rather than Tony or Rhys.

She said: "They're soul mates and so great together. It would be brilliant to revisit that, even if they were just best friends - a 'will they, won't they?' story. I'd love viewers to be rooting for them rather than for them to just have an affair - that's been done too often before. There was something magical between Cindy and Darren."

'Hollyoaks' Nick Pickard: 'Tony should dump Cindy'

Hollyoaks star Nick Pickard has said that his character Tony Hutchinson should dump Cindy Longford if they both survive the upcoming mini-bus crash disaster.

Tony ties the knot with Cindy (Stephanie Waring) next week even though he knows she has been cheating on him with Rhys Ashworth (Andrew Moss). However, Tony faces more heartbreak at the reception when he spots that Cindy is about to run away with Rhys.

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/20/300x225/tony-2.jpg

As the mini-bus accident occurs immediately afterwards and leaves several lives on the line, viewers will have to wait and see whether Tony ever gets a chance to confront Cindy.

Pickard told Inside Soap: "Tony feels like his whole life is unravelling around him, and then the mini-bus comes crashing through the wall! He's gutted that Cindy has betrayed him, but all the carnage of the smash soon gets in the way."

He continued: "If Tony and Cindy survive, I hope he finally dumps her - because she's always mugging him off. People usually tell me to get rid of her! I'd like Tony to find some happiness at last."

Pickard added that he loved filming the dramatic crash episodes, which culminate in a huge explosion.

He said: "It was the biggest explosion I've ever seen in my life. I watched from a safe distance and I could still feel the heat. The sheep were two fields away and they raced off! We filmed on location at Knowsley Hall, which is a very grand setting for a big Hollyoaks disaster."

Some spoilers for the crash week episodes, which are next week;).

George, Jono, Maddie, Ruby and Sinead panic as it looks like Neil's dead... Elsewhere, watching from the safety of a field, Esther and Bart can't believe their eyes. Will Bart confess to being stoned? Sinead is bleeding and in pain, while Maddie is trapped in the driver's seat.

Jono frees himself but doesn't notice the dripping petrol as he heads back to help the others. George and Maddie manage to free themselves, but as they're about to escape, they hear a voice 'help me' - who is it?

Will Esther and Bart admit to their involvement, or does the blame lie elsewhere?

Things are put in perspective for many in the village, but how much longer can the truth stay buried?

'Hollyoaks' Anna Shaffer talks Esther, Bart crash antics

Hollyoaks star Anna Shaffer has said that she hopes Esther Bloom and Bart McQueen do not become scapegoats for the soap's upcoming wedding disaster.

The actress, who plays bride-to-be Ruby Button, explained that she can understand why Esther (Jazmine Franks) and Bart (Jonny Clarke) resort to desperate measures when her character's big day arrives next week.

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/44/300x225/soaps_hollyoaks_3473_3.jpg

When the sixth formers plough through Ste, Doug, Tony and Cindy's joint wedding venue in a mini-bus next Wednesday (November 14), Esther and Bart have been chasing the vehicle in a last-ditch attempt to prevent Ruby from tying the knot.

Ruby, her fiancé Martin 'Jono' Johnson (Dylan Llewellyn) and the other teens are on the way to Gretna Green for the romantic ceremony, but Esther fears that her friend is making a terrible mistake.

Although faulty brakes on the mini-bus are the main cause of the crash, the dangerous behaviour of Esther and Bart is also a contributing factor.

Shaffer told Digital Spy of the pair's antics: "You'll have to wait and see whether Esther and Bart are blamed, but I do feel sorry for them because they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.

"Esther thinks it isn't right for Ruby to run off and marry Jono in secret, as she's doing it without permission from the Osbornes. Bart is looking out for his friend too, so it'd be a shame if they did face a backlash. They're doing it out of concern, but I think a certain amount of blame does have to lie with them!"

Shaffer revealed that she was delighted to be involved in the dramatic episodes, which will claim the lives of at least two characters.

She commented: "It was definitely long hours filming the scenes, but it was also absolutely amazing to be involved in. It was definitely the best thing that I've done since joining the Hollyoaks cast.

"We all got knocked about doing some of the scenes in the van. The day afterwards, I had huge bruises all over me and I was like, 'Oh my God, we did work really hard!' But there were obviously stunt doubles and dummies for the more serious stuff. It was hard, but it was definitely worth it."

'Hollyoaks' Scarlett Bowman: Response to bullying story has been great

Hollyoaks actress Scarlett Bowman has revealed that she has received great feedback from viewers in response to her character's bullying storyline.

The 26-year-old - who plays teen bully Maddie Morrison in the soap - said that people have been in contact and told her that the scenes have highlighted the importance of tackling the issue in schools.

http://i2.cdnds.net/11/45/sopas_hollyoaks_scarlett.jpg

"I've received tweets from people watching it saying it's bringing back memories of things that happened at school," she told MSN.

"I don't think some people realise this stuff does go on. Hopefully not to the extent that we've been playing on screen, because it's going to get a lot worse.

"It's such a meaty, interesting and exciting role to play but [Maddie] is one nasty piece of work, I have to say."

Bowman revealed that she had not been bullied herself, but had experienced isolated incidents where she felt she had been picked on.

"I did have one horrible experience, I think everyone does," she said. "I remember starting a new school halfway through my education and I absolutely hated it for the first two years."

She added: "I think girls are nasty, they can be really bitchy. I don't think guys have that bitchy streak in them so much. Girls are more manipulative - it's an evil world."

Next week, viewers will see Maddie and her fellow minibus passengers crash into the building where Cindy Cunningham and Tony Hutchinson are getting married. The explosive consequences of the accident have been described as some of the biggest scenes the soap has ever seen, with multiple characters' lives in danger.

The fact Maxine even exists is a huge continuity error to me.

Hollyoaks is full of continuity errors

I remember when Ruby and Doug almost slept together Doug found her student card and it said she was born in September 1996, and at that time that would have made her 14, but she was said to be 15

And then a few months later in January she celebrated her 16th birthday :joker:

Also Cindy's half brother is Tom but it's like she doesn't even know he exists

the list goes on.

I think hopefully Bryan Kirkwood will sort out all these continuity issues out, although I have to admit that the episode quality has been better recently and I wonder if it was due to his involvement before Emma Smithwick's departure is announced.

I think ES' storylines are on air until March next year, but HO could still reshoot some scenes to make quick changes in a storyline if they wanted to as they have done before...

Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has admitted that she sees herself as "an idiot" in real life.

The actress - who took part in the 2011 series of Dancing on Ice - said that she would never get involved in another reality TV show because she is too scared she'd embarrass herself.

I think I'm a big idiot in real life. I watched Dancing on Ice and thought 'Oh my God, I'm an idiot!'" Porter told The Daily Star Sunday.

"I hate serious stuff. If I'm in the green room and someone's laughing, I have to ask them what's funny.

"Me and Nicole Barber-Lane (Myra McQueen) are like two 5-year-olds, always messing about," she added.

"And my mum is even crazier than me. We used to go shopping and just lie on the floor - for no reason. I can't do that now I'm on telly."

When asked about her friend, ex-Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan's involvement in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here!, Porter said that she find the experience too "cringey".

"I'd forget about the cameras and embarrass myself," she explained. "I'd probably be trumping!

"I love Helen. I think she'll do well in there but Dancing on Ice was enough for me."

Porter - who plays Theresa McQueen in the Channel 4 soap - also revealed that she has considered life after Hollyoaks.

"The show is amazing at the minute," she said. "I'm not desperate to leave but I'm not desperate to stay either.

"Eventually I would love to do musicals or period drama. Something to challenge me and surprise people. But I'm happy at the moment."

I do like Jorgie, although I think Theresa has come to the end of the line now.

Hollyoaks star Scarlett Bowman has revealed that filming the soap's upcoming explosion scenes was petrifying.

The actress, who plays school bully Maddie Morrison on the Channel 4 soap, admitted she was as close as the stunt performers to the explosion, MSN reports.

http://i4.cdnds.net/12/45/300x225/ho-tx-141112-18.jpg

The scenes see Bowman's character driving a mini bus that crashes into the venue of Cindy Cunningham and Tony Hutchinson's wedding, causing a huge explosion.

The 26-year-old revealed: "All the crew were put about four miles back behind cones, then the stunt double team were put about 10, 15 metres from the explosion, and then the sixth formers, including me, were the same distance as the stunt guys.

"I had to face away from this explosion and the director told me, 'Don't mess up your continuity, you have to leap away from the explosion', and I said, 'Yeah, yeah, don't you worry'.

"And then it explodes, and I can't see it, but I can hear this horrendous explosion, and I can feel this burning heat on my back. I just flew! I was petrified. The sound was immense."

Bowman has also spoken out recently about the feedback to her bullying storyline.

Hollyoaks: Rhys and Jacqui split

'Hollyoaks' couple Rhys and Jacqui Ashworth will call it quits as the dramatic 'Enjoy The Ride' bus crash storyline comes to a head.

'Hollyoaks' favourites Rhys and Jacqui Ashworth will split for good.

Rhys' secret affair with bride-to-be Cindy Cunningham will be exposed in the dramatic 'Enjoy The Ride' bus crash storyline on the Channel 4 soap when he is forced to turn up at Cindy and Tony's wedding against his will - and actor Andrew Moss, who plays the love rat, says it is the last time the troubled couple will be together.

Andrew exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "'He's decided that he's ready to move on. Myra says she'll help him run away if he doesn't break her daughter's heart.

"She says, 'You need to go to this wedding with her', because she'd be mortified if he didn't turn up and then found out. Myra forces him to go to the wedding and they're both sat there - it's the last time that they're together as a couple."

The actor remained cryptic as to whether Rhys' plans will be foiled by the tragic crash, but revealed he is furious at his alter-ego for ruining his relationship with feisty Jacqui (Claire Cooper).

Andrew sighed: "As an actor, I'm really sad about it because we invested so much into the Rhys and Jacqui relationship. They were the odd couple that should have never worked, but opposites attract and they found common ground.

"He stuck by her though the rape ordeal, so to ruin it all by blooming cheating on her... I'm so annoyed at Rhys!"

Despite their relationship "definitely" being over, Andrew hasn't ruled out the possibility of the fan-favourite couple getting back together in the future.

He confessed: "I hope they get back together because he's in deep love with Jacqui. We've just seen it go stale and him fall out of love with her purely because of what she does.

"She's got such a big heart; she runs the McQueen house, she's taken in a stray, Phoebe, and she's kind of creating this little nest for them that Rhys isn't ready for. Maybe if it happened five years down the line... I'm holding out hope that one day they could get back together."

He could be bluffing and Rhys dies instead?:suspect:

'Hollyoaks': Carmel's troubles continue

Hollyoaks favourite Carmel McQueen continues to struggle with self-esteem issues next week as she is still adjusting to life with her facial scar.

The beautician, played by Gemma Merna, has found her change in appearance difficult to cope with since a tanning machine exploded in her face a few months ago.

Carmel's morale receives a much-needed boost in upcoming episodes when Nana McQueen (Diane Langton) returns to the village for a visit, and the pair are closer than ever after spending the summer together.

It seems that Carmel could be turning a corner when she later heads to Atwells for her first day back at work, but an encounter with Liam Gilmore (James Farrar) soon leaves her questioning herself all over again.

Liam flirts with Carmel when she first arrives at the gym, but when he looks closer and spots her scar, he can't help but visibly flinch.

'Hollyoaks' Jennifer Metcalfe backs Mercedes, Browning pairing

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe has claimed that her character Mercedes McQueen and twisted Doctor Browning are soul mates.

Mercedes started dating Browning (Joe Thompson) to make Riley Costello jealous earlier this year, but the pair ended up developing a stronger connection than they had anticipated.

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/08/300x225/soaps_hollyoaks_mercedes_mcqueen.jpg

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/29/300x225/soaps_hollyoaks_3400_6.jpg

Browning is expected to make another appearance on the soap in the coming weeks, and Metcalfe told Inside Soap's Yearbook 2013 that she would be pleased to see him back.

Metcalfe explained: "For three years the scriptwriters tried to tell me Malachy Fisher was Mercedes's soul mate, and then they tried to tell me that Riley was. But I told them no, it's got to be Doctor Browning.

"He gives as good as he gets and I think that's really good for my character, especially when Mercedes has been involved with so many men in the village."

Mercedes is currently in a psychiatric unit after her attempt to frame Mitzeee Minniver for attempted murder was exposed. Upcoming episodes will see her face trial for her recent crimes.

http://i1.cdnds.net/12/26/300x225/ho-tx-26.06

http://i2.cdnds.net/12/35/300x225/soaps_hollyoaks_3427_1.jpg

Asked whether Mercedes can be redeemed, Metcalfe replied: "I'm not sure if I can give too much away. All I can say is there's a really big storyline coming up - and I think the audience will be shocked by it."

Hollyoaks are amazing at stunts, better than the big 3 soaps IMO.

I think the EPISODE ON THE WHOLE WAS DIRE. The stunt at the end was epic as usual from HO but it is really worrying how bad the episodes seem to be when Brendan is not in them

Also I think Neil (sadly as he is the best teen) is dead meat the fact they made such a big deal of him changing seats with George seals the deal for me

Damn, the only teens I like are Neil & Esther, and I think you're right now LK :/. Also the fact he was promoted to Best Man & has been on the show quite alot recently (With Lacey/Tilly/On Later), Means he probably is going to die.

HOPEFULLY IT'LL BE GEORGE INSTEAD (his seat)

The crash stunt itself was good. I liked the complete deadly silence afterwards but there was so many errors in common sense it made it silly.

The whole Rhys and Cindy thing is terrible, a few quickies in the stock room and suddenly they're in love with each other? Rhys putting a message in the basket was dumb considering anyone randomly reads those anyway from my experience of weddings.

Maddie was thick as a brick. Common sense would have told her to either swerve into a field which is far safer than heading towards a building. Or at least take your foot OFF THE ACCELERATOR. Lmao.
The brake's not working so she put her foot down to go faster. Idiot.

And also the greenscreen shot of Cindy and Rhys doing a dive was cheesy and it didn't make sense how after their swerve Esther and Bart ended up a good half a mile away from the venue and parked back up the road?

The only thing that can save it is killing off the terrible characters now.

Neil's definitely a goner, we'll get the obligatory "If we hadn't changed seats I'd be dead" from George.

MEMYSELFANDI yeah hopefully he survives he the only teen I really like tbh. Like I said though I think he is gone there was just to much time on the whole changing seats thing not to be an important thing

Also did anyone else LOL at Maddie driving in heels

It'll be Rhys & Neil
(Rhys was going to leave but didn't, and Cindy was going to leave with him, and Cindy won't be leaving now her daughters there? Also her & Tony will be good drama)

Annalise doesn't really fit in either tbh, Wouldn't be suprised if 2 die (Neil & Analise) & Rhys dies in hospital later.

All just random theories lmao

Maddie needs to die for not having the common sense to slow the van down.

Agree with you on Rhys and Cindy however why does her daughter look older then her when she is meant to be 14 LOL

Also NONONONO with my Annalise she is to beautiful to die such a tragic death. Sadly I think Maddie with survive SIGH
