Hollyoaks fans will be introduced to Lynsey Nolan's brother later this month, Digital Spy can confirm.

Actor Alan Turkington (pictured right) has been cast in the guest part of Eoghan Nolan, who is expected to be on screen for four episodes.

While exact storyline details have yet to be officially confirmed, Eoghan's arrival could tie in with recent speculation that Lynsey's funeral will soon take place now that the investigation into her murder has ended.

Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has confirmed that his character Darren Osborne is among the suspects for an upcoming storyline which sees Sinead O'Connor have a one-night stand with one of the village's male residents.

Newly-released spoilers have revealed that Sinead catches the eye of Darren, Rhys, Rob, Liam and Jono as she attends a party in a future episode.

Reports say that Sinead (Stephanie Davis) ends up in bed with one man shortly afterwards, but his identity is being kept under wraps.

Darren's presence at the party comes after he has asked his wife Nancy for a divorce following the premature arrival of their baby son, furious that she put herself under so much stress while pregnant.

Dawson told Inside Soap: "Darren goes to the party to drown his sorrows. He gets himself into such a state that he doesn't know what he's doing. If it is Darren who beds Sinead, it'll have serious repercussions for any future with Nancy."

Discussing why Darren is being so harsh with Nancy, the actor explained: "Darren believes that Nancy didn't take proper care of herself during her pregnancy. She seemed preoccupied with what was happening with Mitzeee, and wouldn't listen to him when he told her to back off. In his heart of hearts, Darren feels she's responsible for all of this."

Just watched last night's E4 episode and it was really compelling. I could not understand though how Walker kicked Brendan's crutches from under him in one scene and left him scrambling on the ground, and in the next he was outside walking about ok without said crutches. A bit of continuity would not go amiss.

I feel sorry for Myra a bit, although she was wrong in covering for Mercedes at first but eventually she did what was best for her daughter.

The Phoebe and Jacqui scenes were good and I am glad Jacqui cooled down.

I hope Hollyoaks keep this standard up when their best Actors and Actresses are given big storylines and to have lots of screentime, although the teens always drag the standard back down sadly.

There must have been some behind the scenes changes at Hollyoaks HQ before the announcement of Emma Smithwick's departure because look at the standard of the writing for these gripping episodes. I hope the new management will learn to listen to viewer feedback and improve from mistakes that have been learnt to get the show on top form and maybe win some awards again!

Agreed! The last few weeks seemed very different to the usual style of the show. It's a lot faster paced and very gripping. I love it! :dance:

Just got in from football and watched the episode and just wow was so good it gave me a boner.

This has been easily the best whole week of HO in YEARS and all the charcters featured are the best in the show. Sadly we have got the bloody teens all next week SMH

Rachel Shenton has said that her Hollyoaks character Mitzeee will never return to her glamour model past.

Shenton suggested that Mitzeee's time in prison, due to being framed for the attempted murder of Mercedes, has hardened her.

She told the Daily Star: "When she first arrived a year ago, she was this ditzy glamour model with big hair. Now you've seen a different side to her.

"I think this has changed her forever.

"I'd like to see her go back to a version of herself but I don't think you can ever go right back when something like this has happened."

Mitzeee, who arrived in the Cheshire village in July 2010, rushed to hospital to be beside dying lover Riley Costello.

Hollyoaks star Nicole Barber-Lane has admitted that she is grateful for the McQueen family's recent on-screen dramas.

The soap clan have been pushed to their limits over the past few months with Carmel leaving home after suffering facial scarring and Mercedes becoming increasingly unstable in her explosive feud with Mitzeee Minniver.

Barber-Lane told PA that she feels "really lucky" to have been at the centre of the big scenes as her matriarchal character Myra tries to do what is best for the family.

The actress commented: "I think like many mothers, she tries her best. Whether her best is up to scratch is another question. She's certainly a very lenient parent, but also she would do anything for her kids, that comes before anything else.

"I'm actually a lot softer as a parent through playing her, so that's quite funny. I think, 'Oh God, I'm a worse parent than Myra!'"

She added: "I've been really lucky recently, I've had some fantastic scenes with all the girls. I really feel like Myra's sort of back, looking after the family."

Next week's Hollyoaks episodes see Myra pay a visit to Carmel in the hope that she will return home at last.

Former Holby City and Coronation Street star Jeremy Sheffield has been cast in Hollyoaks.

The actor has signed up for the part of Dodger Savage's biological father Patrick Blake, who will make his first appearance on screen in a few weeks' time.

While firm details of Patrick's first scenes have yet to be revealed, it's sure to be an emotional moment for Dodger as he comes face-to-face with his long-lost dad.

Dodger's world was rocked in the summer when he learned that wheeler-dealer Dirk (David Kennedy) is not his real father.

He initially kept his discovery to himself, but later lost his temper with Dirk for hiding the truth from him - and the pair's relationship has since been strained.

Sheffield had a short stint in Weatherfield last December and January as he took on the part of charmer Danny Stratton for Becky McDonald's departure storyline. He is also well-known for his role as Alex Adams on Holby City.

The actor commented: "I'm very happy to be joining Hollyoaks at a time when things are getting very exciting."

Earlier this year, Danny Mac - who plays Dodger - told Digital Spy that he was looking forward to the arrival of his character's real dad.

Mac said in August: "That's what's driving me through storylines at the moment. That's the place where it inevitably has to go, for better or for worse. He needs to find out who his father is and get some questions answered.

"It's such a life-changing time for Dodger, but it's nice that it hasn't been one big stunt or one big drama. Instead, it's just slowly fizzling through the other stories and building up. It's really good to have a prolonged storyline."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.

Nicole Barber-Lane, who plays Myra McQueen in Hollyoaks has said it is "one of the best times for her as a character".

The actress, who has played the McQueen matriarch since 2006, said: "I'm having the best time ever at the moment. Some stuff coming up, you're absolutely going to love it. Watch out, that's all I can say.

"The great thing about this character is you can take her seriously, you can take her to panto levels, you can take her anywhere and she sort of sits quite comfortably. I'm really enjoying Myra at the moment. For me it's one of the best times for her as a character."

While many of the characters in Hollyoaks show they can have a meaner side, Nicole said about Myra: "I can't exactly see that happening. That would be funny but you couldn't take her seriously as that."

The character has experienced several traumatic events recently in the show, including dealing with the arguments of her many daughters and being sent to prison for six months.

Nicole explained: "She wants to be happy, she wants her family around her, a bit of romance, she wants that happy ending."

I like Darren and Rhys, although both are behaving out of order at the moment. The writers enjoy giving characters personality transplants.

Hollyoaks waitress Cindy Cunningham is playing with fire once again in her latest storyline as she enjoys a steamy affair with Rhys Ashworth.

Viewers have seen the pair cheating on their respective partners Tony and Jacqui over the past few weeks, but in upcoming episodes Cindy considers ending the fling as the guilt becomes too much.

When Tony buys the Atwell's gym next week, Cindy sees that he is trying to provide a stable future for the pair of them, so she tells Rhys that their affair is over. But will she be able to resist temptation?

Digital Spy recently caught up with Stephanie Waring, who plays Cindy, to hear her thoughts on the ongoing plotline.

What has the Cindy and Rhys storyline been like to film?
"I've really enjoyed this storyline, because there are a lot of twists and turns coming up in it that I don't think the audience are going to expect. It's not going to just be your straightforward affair - there's lots of stuff on the way, and how it develops is going to be very surprising.

"I'd love people to invest a little bit in Cindy and Rhys. I've seen on the forums that people have said, 'Oh no, you can't break up two great couples!', but at the moment the fans have no idea where it's going. I hope they're going to enjoy it when they see it for themselves."

Is it nice to get your first long-running storyline in a while?
"Definitely. Last year was about introducing a younger group of characters, but this next year we'll revisit the families and the characters who have been on Hollyoaks for a long time, and see how everyone interacts together.

"I'm really excited to be involved in this current storyline, and I think it's some of the best stuff that I've done since I've been at Hollyoaks. I think the audience will agree with that when they see how it develops."

Why has Cindy's attention been drawn away from Tony?
"Well, Cindy is like a child and Rhys is like a shiny new toy to her. She does love Tony, as he's her staple and they know each other inside and out. Tony is Cindy's comfort zone and whenever things go wrong, she goes back to him. Tony has always been there for Cindy and he's put up with her for so long.

"With Rhys, he's just a bit of excitement - they're very alike and they both want the same thing at this current time. I think it's a believable storyline for a character like Cindy because she goes through men for fun and if she wants something, she goes for it."

Cindy seems to be feeling more guilty than Rhys, doesn't she?
"Yeah, you would expect Cindy to be the one who's all for the affair and for Rhys to be the guilty one, but in fact it's the other way around. Cindy is not sure if she's doing the right thing, because she doesn't want to hurt Tony.

"I'm not sure I'd go as far to say that Cindy is completely head over heels in love with Tony, but she knows that he's the right choice to make for her in terms of a future relationship. She doesn't really see it going anywhere with Rhys, as it's just a bit of fun.

"When Cindy sees Tony doing various good things because he's such a good man, she does stop and think, 'What am I doing?' But like I say, she's like a child so when he's not giving her attention, she'll run back to Rhys."

Why does Cindy react so badly when Tony proposes next week?
"Because soon after Tony proposes, he lets it slip that he thinks she's pregnant. Tony admits that it's pretty much the only reason why he's popped the question, and Cindy is really angry at that. It's not the fact that he's proposed, but just that he's only doing it because he thinks she's pregnant. So she's not happy at all and storms out."

How does Cindy feel when Tony later buys the gym?
"I think she thinks he's a little bit bonkers, but she supports him and she's pleased that he's done something so grown-up and responsible. Tony is basically providing her with security and that's appealing to her, as she's always wanted a man who's going to provide her with all of the things that she can't do for herself.

"Afterwards, Cindy decides that the affair is over and she's going to stay with Tony, but you'll have to wait and see whether she can resist temptation again."

Is there a part of Cindy that wants to get back at Jacqui with this affair?
"No, I don't think that is her motivation as Cindy isn't that callous. She wouldn't have an affair with Jacqui's husband because she doesn't like her, it's just an unfortunate situation. I think those two could actually be friends at some point, but at the moment they just rub each other up the wrong way.

Hollyoaks fans will see John Paul McQueen return to the village later this year, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal.

James Sutton has been back on set at the Channel 4 soap in recent days, having agreed to reprise the role after four years away.

Little is known about John Paul's return storyline, but it is thought that he will be back on screen in time for Christmas and remain back in the village for the foreseeable future.

John Paul is remembered as one of Hollyoaks' most popular characters, and his relationship with Craig Dean (Guy Burnet) resulted in a significant fanbase of 'McDean' supporters.

Sutton played the role between 2006 and 2008. In 2009, he was cast as Emmerdale's Ryan Lamb and appeared as the village mechanic until April 2011.

In recent months, the 29-year-old has made appearances on a number of shows including Holby City, Scott and Bailey and Bedlam, as well as launching his own pop-up acting company Broken Leg Workshops.

Sutton had often said that he was open to returning to Hollyoaks for the "right" storyline and entered talks with the programme's chiefs earlier in the year.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.

AT least two Hollyoaks favourites will be killed off in a massive fireball.

Viewers will watch in horror when a minibus goes out of control and blows up as three couples prepare to tie the knot.

Saucy Cindy Cunningham is set to marry Tony Hutchinson in a double wedding with Ste Hay and his boyfriend Doug Carter following a venue mix-up.

As the ceremony begins, a minibus carrying Ruby Button and her fiancé Martin “Jono” Johnson is forced off the road by Bart McQueen.

He is trying to stop the loved-up couple running off to Gretna Green to wed.

And when young bridesmaid Leah Hay steps out in front of the two vehicles, bus driver Maddie Morrison swerves out of her path and ploughs straight into the wedding ceremony.

The bus careers through the posh venue before coming to an abrupt halt.

As shocked guests survey the damage the bus blows up and fans will be left guessing who survives.

Soap bosses are keeping quiet about the exact death toll and which characters will be killed.

But rumours are rife lots of lives will be lost in the tragedy – the biggest Hollyoaks has seen.

An insider told the Daily Star Sunday: “This is a huge stunt. A lot of money has been spent making it look as realistic as possible. A team of stuntmen and women were brought in and bosses hired some of the best special effects people in the business.

“These really will be unmissable episodes for all soap fans.

“The bus crash will be a disaster no one will ever forget.”

The insider added: “Some of the scenes we’ve shot have left even the most hardened crew members in bits. Viewers will be left shocked and upset as the disaster unfolds before their eyes.

“And everyone in the village will be deeply affected.”

The crash will also coincide with the climax of some of the soap’s most dramatic storylines.

Leading up to her wedding, Cindy has managed to keep her passionate sex sessions with Rhys Ashworth a secret from husband-to-be Tony but all that looks set to change.

There is also the matter of Rhys’ wife Jacqui being completely unaware of what her love-rat hubby has been up to.

And viewers will see Doug Carter doing everything he can to keep Brendan Brady away from Ste.

Hollyoaks' new recruit Nikki Sanderson has confirmed that she will be sticking with the soap until at least August 2013.

The former Coronation Street actress has been cast in the role of Mitzeee Minniver's sister Maxine, who has been tipped to cause fireworks when she joins the village next month.

Sanderson told All About Soap of her Hollyoaks part: "Oh, it's very exciting. I had to keep quiet about the role for so long, which wasn't easy because I'm not the best at keeping secrets! So it's nice to be able to shout it from the rooftops now.

"Everyone's been really friendly at Hollyoaks - I'm having an absolute ball and am looking forward to the future so much."

She added: "My contract lasts up until next August, so you'll definitely be seeing a lot of Maxine on your screens."

Sanderson explained that Maxine and Mitzeee do not get along as they previously fell out over a man.

"Maxine stole Mitzeee's fiancé Gary and ran off to live with him in Spain five years ago," she said. "They haven't seen or spoken to each other since, and their relationship's more than strained.

"But Maxine is so ignorant she reckons she can swan back into Mitzeee's life and everything will be totally hunky dory."

When Maxine discovers that the late Riley Costello has left The Dog in the Pond pub to Mitzeee, it gives her an added reason to make amends with her sister - but whether they can become close again remains to be seen.

Tony Hutchinson and Cindy Longford's lives are rocked by a shock accident on Hollyoaks next week.

The couple are currently busy making plans to tie the knot, but when Tony (Nick Pickard) heads out to visit the wedding venue, he crashes the minibus he is driving and is left injured.

This accident is separate from the more serious bus crash drama ahead on the Channel 4 soap, but it's certainly not without consequences as Tony is left in a worrying condition afterwards.

Not wanting her daughter to be left heartbroken, Myra soon steps into the situation by secretly threatening Rhys - warning that she'll arrange for some of her prison friends to pay him a visit if he doesn't try to make a go of things with Jacqui.

With Myra calling the shots, it seems that Rhys and Jacqui will be staying together for now - but is there any hope for their future? And will Myra really be able to keep quiet about yet another huge family secret?

Esther Bloom's bullying hell gets even worse on Hollyoaks next week as the sixth formers team up to target her with a cruel prank.

While Esther (Jazmine Franks) thinks she has finally found a friend by chatting to a girl named Rosie online, viewers will soon see that college bullies Maddie, Ruby and Sinead are behind the 'Rosie' messages - keen to make a fool out of her yet again.

Esther arranges to meet up with her online acquaintance, but as she heads out, she is startled to receive a call from a frightened 'Rosie', who claims she is being followed.

Soon afterwards, Esther is left terrified as she spots what looks like a dead body - and someone grabs her from behind…

Although it soon becomes clear that it's a sick stunt pulled by the sixth formers, Esther has already wet herself with fear, and her humiliation is yet again captured on a mobile phone camera.

Over on Hollyoaks, news that former Neighbours star Dan O'Connor is bowing out from the role of Ally Gorman has also now been confirmed.

At the weekend, reports said that the soap's cast had gathered for O'Connor's 'leaving party' in Liverpool. In fact, this was O'Connor's birthday party rather than a leaving bash, but Ally will indeed be departing the show as his storyline reaches its conclusion.

Hollyoaks bosses are keeping tight-lipped over exactly how and when Ally will make his exit.

'Hollyoaks' to launch online anti-bullying initiative

Hollyoaks bosses are launching a special online project to tie in with Esther Bloom's ongoing bullying storyline.

Esther, played by Jazmine Franks, is currently experiencing a tough time at sixth form college as her so-called friends continue to tease and isolate her.

The plot develops further this week as fellow student Dylan Shaw (Mikey Riddington-Smith) innocently creates his own micro-blogging site DocYou to enter a filmmaking competition.

When the other sixth formers begin to misuse Dylan's creation, it soon becomes a public forum to broadcast humiliating content about Esther, which makes her situation even more unbearable.

Hollyoaks are now teaming up with Channel 4 Education and Beatbullying to bring the fictional micro-blogging site online for real. DocYou will allow viewers to further explore the emotional storyline through a range of exclusive content, including videos, photos and text posts.

Show chiefs hope that the project will help to highlight the impact of social media on everyday life - including the issues of cyber bullying, privacy and the pitfalls of revealing too much online.

A Hollyoaks statement said: "The project is supported by Beatbullying and will explore the impact of social media on everyday life, and what happens when somebody is constantly picked on in small ways.

"This ground-breaking initiative will add a whole new level of depth to the story and highlight how easy it is to miss what is really happening on a site full of seemingly benign content, and how this content can become an additional source of bullying for some people."

Content will also include behind-the-scenes videos of the Hollyoaks cast talking about the issues raised and their own experiences with bullies.

Additionally, Hollyoaks will work with Beatbullying offline on a series of other initiatives, which will see some cast members train and shadow as cyber mentors to raise awareness of the issues involved.

Esther's bullying storyline launched in May but has become more serious in recent weeks as Maddie Morrison (Scarlett Bowman), Sinead O'Connor (Stephanie Davis) and Ruby Button (Anna Shaffer) have been making her life a misery at college.

It has now been confirmed that the story will develop "right through to the New Year", leaving Esther in a lonely and desperate situation as the 'teasing' worsens.

Hollyoaks' executive producer Bryan Kirkwood commented: "Hollyoaks has always had a youth focus and we never shy away from tackling difficult youth issues. I am really proud of this story and how it realistically approaches bullying, which is so relevant to our audience."

Channel 4 Education editor Gemma Brady added: "We are delighted to be working with Hollyoaks on this project. The show has a strong track record of tackling difficult issues and feels like the perfect home to explore the complexities of bullying in a connected age."

DocYou will go live tomorrow evening (October 25) at 7pm after the Channel 4 airing of Hollyoaks.

Jennifer Metcalfe has said that she would like Leah Hackett to return to Hollyoaks.

The Mercedes McQueen actress said she hopes her on-screen sister Hackett will have a second spell on the soap, despite the fact the character Tina Reilly was killed in 2008.
