Keep in mind, Gaza is a spec of land with one of the world's highest population densities. It really does defeat the point of campaigning if that is the fixation. Woo hoo, everyone loves me, big deal... they're obviously already voting for you, though? Where is the focus on who the person actually is relative to the individual voter vs their actual policies (and will their record show they actually hold that dear)? Is it now more important what the crowd size is and how enthusiastic everyone is being portrayed? If that's how we're going to judge this contest, then Trump's rallies should've given him a bigger edge, because he's sustained "enthusiasm" without the media support and acceptance in the mainstream.

Because it is such a personality contest now, I think that more voters are being blackpilled than not. Kamala did need a personality injection but the only substance seems to be "I'm not Trump" aka everything he does, I'm doing the complete opposite and no way my demeanor will be remotely Trump-like while in office... and she's saying that basically to the protesters, she's the non-Trump candidate and there's not going to be much dialogue from her other than that, just vote for her. I think there is a danger to democracy, but all based around him wanting to make sure he can do what he wants and the fact he wants to be seen as a tough guy, not because he wants to put lefties in internment camps. He's a classic narcissist, so everything will always be about what's best for him. Unfortunately, it's the people involved with him and after him that will have the infrastructure in place, where things could get really dangerous.

Yes but it's not HIS claims that are baffling - it's the Trump zealot's unwavering belief that he will come through and, eventually, all of their Trump hopes and dreams will fall into place, because it's all been one grand plan all along. It's less about the person, more that the process of selecting a candidate is now more ceremonial than democratic. It has never so blatant a process to take the voter's perspective for granted. Half the country can clearly not be on board with something but that won't stop parties thrusting candidates into the mainstream that push those voters to the sidelines. It obviously is having bad effects. There used to an unique tension between the public and the politicians which was needed. Now politicians are treated more like rockstars and that's very different.

Muslims didn't get together in the late 1940's and decide to start wanting to kill Israeli's, they were set up precisely as a response to was happening to their brothers and sisters.

It probably doesn't help that our own countries aren't being the best examples of promoting peace. We can't really change the situation, but whoever is in power, we really should focus on getting our own ducks in a row and encouraging our leaders to tone down the rhetoric. Israel didnt invade in 1982, they were part of a multi nation force keeping some sort of order. The first invasion by either aide after the creation of Hezbollah was in 2006 when hezbollah into israel and captured 2 israeli soldiers. Their leader who just died said at the time it was so they could have prisoners of their own to request a prisoner exchange deal. They underestimated the response by Israel to this, their leader who just died predicting the percent of a large scale response being around 4 percent.
