Alyssa/Coco hogged too much of the camera, though, otherwise it'd comfortably be the best season. It just got so samey, and both of them sucked at the challenges, so what was the point? :idc:

Ivy was ok. Nothing more. Detox... I loved at the time because of DWV but she underwhelmed too (did amazing in AS2 though).

I could understand the viewpoint to an extent, I don't think the show would work at all if you included Bio Queens since the show's all about men dragging up and the transformations and such and a woman dragging themselves up as a drag queen just doesn't have the same effect and plus they'd have a natural advantage when it came to looks.

It doesn't take the most aware person to notice that some subsections of Drag Race fans are way too intrusive, OTT and stalker-y. I know they can't always take pictures with everyone and don't have any obligation to put if you know faking a smile for 10 seconds at a meet and greet or when you're in a bar or whatever will make someone's day and potentially make them so happy, then why not just do it...

I don't think Meet and Greets are the issue here, though, this seems to be addressing being approached outside of work. And anyone who's a fan of Bob should really expect her to be a kinda deadpan, sarcastic person when she's not on stage - most of S8 was spent with Bob's confessionals being very dry, in contrast to her performance energy.

But there’s a controversy going on at the moment because RuPaul has drawn a line in the sand saying that a trans woman at a certain point of her transition is not welcome to compete in Drag Race.

Courtney: This is the thing: on the last season there was a girl called Peppermint and she identifies as trans and lives as a woman. But being trans means different things to different people. Some people don’t take hormones, some people don’t have surgery, some people are just happy living in the clothes of their chosen gender. So Peppermint at this stage hadn’t had any surgery, but was living as a woman and taking hormones. RuPaul just said recently that because she didn’t have breast implants yet, that somehow that was okay [to compete].

Andrew: A bit controversial that is, right?

Courtney: Yeah, Ru as a cis man having conversations about, and rule over, women’s bodies is alarmingly in line with the current swing of conservative politics. Also the public erasure of trans women from the history of drag and then the irony of Ru, a male, telling women, cis and trans, they can’t do drag because it’s not as big of a **** you to a male dominated world. Very controversial…

So my thoughts on that Season 10 premiere:

I LOVED it. Really impressed with the calibre of queens this year. The runway was probably the best first runway the show's ever seen, everyone pretty much did well and the bottom 2 were the only ones who got proper negative critiques.

As of episode 1 my early faves are Monet, Mayhem, Cracker, Yuhua and Vixen. I would've put Monique in there too but her reaction to being safe threw me off a little. I'll let it slide for now seeing as it's the first challenge but if sis demonstrates anymore Milk tendencies she'll be cancelled real quick.

Is it just me that thinks Ru and the gags are alot funnier this season? Props to the scriptwriter who's feeding Ru her lines because they were hilarious :laugh: ("Michelle you're never gonna make Onk happen!", "and they said it wouldn't last! -no, they said that about you girl group Seduction") The Farrah Moan gag was funny and the Michelle drags were hysterical. The queens this season also seem really funny ("well if you can't find the booger...:eyes:", "you're not a real woman either!", "which one are you? *@every black queen*" "I live in Harlem so people call me by name all the time", "There are no accidents in fisting", *Xtina singing everything at any opportunity*, *Kalorie's reaction to Kameron out of drag*)

I wasn't as wowed by Mayhem as the judges were making out and probably would've given the win to Cracker, but Mayhem's passion and love for the show and her overall happiness to just be there is so adorable and I love her so far, so happy to see that she's started off strong.

Disappointed to see Vanessa go this early but I feel like she's one of those RTV first boots that their potential to entertain was much more effective as a first boot rather than a full season (see BBUK: Kitten). Her loud bitch personality was fun for one episode but definitely would've got tiring as the season progressed. At least she'll leave as a likeable, humorous queen as opposed to an overbearing one. Plus, Kalorie absolutely KILLED that lip sync, she did great and it was game over once the money was thrown and the split was jumped into (ignoring the fact that Vanessa couldn't get rid of her fabric :joker:)

Looking forward to the return of Alyssa next week <3 Hopefully the musical challenge will be good as it seems like Todrick isn't overseeing it.

I haven't seen Untucked yet as there aren't any links as of writing this, but looking forward to watching it later, these queens seem like a fun group of personalities :clap1:

I think my favourites are Yuhua, Cracker, Dusty and Mayhem. Least favourite is Aquaria, I'm so over her personality archetype and I've seen nothing that warrants the hype.

I thought the mini challenge was fun if a little uncreative, the veteran queens saved it I think.

I wonder if we'll be getting a season of older challenges making a comeback? I would not be against it tbh if the calibre remains as high as it did in this episode. I agreed with the bottom 2 but thought the wrong person went home, Kalorie's lipsync was woeful but she pulled off a stunt so I guess that means she stays.....I'm getting bored of stunts being the thing that wins lipsyncs.

The queens seem POLISHED this season and I’m living for it. I can’t call it between who I think will be early boots (besides Kalorie sorry girl!) and who’ll be the frontrunners (have a sneak feeling Miz Cracker and Monet might be though based on the edit).

Probably the best design challenge ever? I thought everyone’s was well executed besides the B3 (thought The Vixen’s was a bit basic but I love her so...) and Cracker’s/Monique’s/Mayhem’s in particular were all very stunning.

Sad to see Vanessa go :sad: I thought she was better than Kalorie in the lip sync tbh and Kalorie won because of the cheap money gimmick but w/e.

Early favourites are Miz Cracker, Eureka (who is coming across a lot better so far I think), The Vixen and Yuhua.

I think this is going to be a truly amazing cast, they seem to be one of the best in terms of talent so far. They will do the tenth season of RPDR proud I am sure of that.

In terms of who should've gone, I definitely think Kalorie deserved to go over Vanessa.
Vanessa's dress was amazing and cute compared to Kalorie's which was unoriginal.

Loving the new werkroom and new stage!

Early frontrunners for me seem to be Miz, Monet and Yuhua definitely. I honestly can't wait for the next few episodes.

This is the first ever series of RPDR I am watching as it is airing. I have just watched the past 8 but have been binge watching them so I guess it will be good to sit back and actually take it all in/chat with other people about it with watching it as it comes out.

Also as one of the queens said, Yuhua gives off Del Rio vibes and I am LIVING for it.

Good episode again! I’m not much for the musical challenges (I know unpopular opinion!) but this was considerably better than most i.e. Glamazonian Airways and Kardashian: The Rusical.

The Vixen winning though :umm2: she was a crap leader, I can barely remember her performance and her runway presentation wasn’t all that. Should’ve been Monét or Kameron if the judges were being fair.

Not too sad to see the back of Kalorie, she wasn’t up to standard with the rest of the queens. So happy for Euereka pulling it out in the lip sync though :love:

Alyssa SAVED the musical! I LOVED the maxi challenge, and most of the queens looks I mean whew... I am SO sad that Kalorie has gone. It should've been Eureka. No tea.

Another good episode. Not getting this Vixen hate, she#s been pretty righteous in all her arguments, even if she is clearly a camera***** :laugh: And I screamed @ Asia dragging Eureka in every confessional, man I'd be so annoyed to have her on my team too.

Very weak lip-sync, but glad I don't have to hear that tedious "big girls come thru we're gonna eat you" song in every workroom moment of every ep. Wish Vanessa had stayed over Kalorie last week as it was clear Kalorie wasn't gonna make it past the second ep.

Okay so I did enjoy this ep although I'm NOT a fan of these annoying musicals they do every season.. they would be so much better if it was actually them talking/singing and not some stock voice woman

I mean the bottom two, as much as I like them both, was correct and Kalorie did deserve to go home. She was one of my faves though..

Really not feeling The Vixen, she seems very conniving and snappy, the sort that would tell you you look good when you dont, just so she looks better. and her runway look was a MESS, those eybrows were all over the place with that yellow outline, the look was basic and just a cheap imitation of Ajas volcano thing, and she did not deserve to win the challenge at all, even though her team were the better of the two.

Episode 2 / 1 Untucked thoughts (haven't seen Untucked2 yet):

I actually liked this musical - it had a weak start but the songs were funny and not TOO "repeated joke x4". Monet, Miz, Dusty and Vixen all killed it :love: can't argue with the bottom two although I think putting Monique in B3 over Aquaria? A choice. Aquaria flopped until she did her split, and splits shouldn't save people. #JusticeForTempest
Had the usual "everyone is judged individually" rule been in place, I think Kameron or Blair would've been candidates for B3 too.

In terms of Runway:
- Blair is really surprising me this season, I had her pegged as the first boot but that 'best drag' had me gagged :lovedup:
- LOVED Aquaria's, sadly. Shoot.
- Only weak ones were Kalorie (that was REALLY weak though) and Yuhua, imo. Eureka's too I guess.
- Asia's makeup made my jaw drop too, her and Mayhem's pageant-stuff was beautiful.

The judges were a lot more likeable this time around but I'm still bitter about the Dusty treatment last week. I can sense they're going to send her home for a ****ing unique makeup style :bored: when it's pretty much the only thing that got Trixie Mattel another chance. Oh actually never mind I just remembered it was Halsey (blah?) and that other bitch had some really 'off' critiques - especially for Monique and that reveal outfit. It didn't "have a narrative"? Bitch it's a tearaway? What's your narrative? Who the hell even are you? GET OUT.

EDIT: Oh I forgot about Alyssa. Look, I get the hype, sure. But she is ****ing annoying [/Phi Phi] and should NOT be in a position to influence the performance of other queens. Her comments and suggestions were just ridiculous and only work for her (AMP IT UP. SHOUT ALL THE TIME.) and I'm glad most of the queens ignored them. I love Alyssa but in small doses and I really just wish the show would just focus on the new queens / qualified professional coaches than either chase its own tail, or chase a twatty YouTuber who's obsessed with Disney.

Oh and as for the first ep of Untucked... heart broke for Vanjie and I didn't even like Kalorie but her reaction at the end of her elimination means I'm guaranteed to sob a little in E2, for sure. I liked the editing a little more but I still could live without the random filler shots of the crew putting the (incredibly ****ing cheap :joker:) set together and saying "action" or "five minutes" or whatever. Nobody cares :oh: get off camera :oh: Otherwise it looked a mild improvement on the S7-9 Untuckeds.
