Oh Naysha :( although I did call this a few pages back, she didn't really grab me. Not a bad thing but really not a good thing either... poor girl. I don't really like the whole "watch them walk away and break down" segment every week on Untucked and would rather it remained kinda upbeat but oh well.

Challenge was...rushed. But fun? Idk some of the elements seemed a little boring. And I could do without reminders of Tyra and Jinkx :idc: Can only really recall enjoying the input from Sharon, Bebe & Chad come to think of it. I mean I completely forgot about Violet as well, the fact she's going to turn up in future repeatedly with her non-personality is going to be wild.

As for the outcome... I personally would've put Naomi up against Naysha, don't think Laila's was all that bad and I'm not sure why they try to include these photoshoots (where they just choose the one photo that can sabotage the queen the most?) as part of the decision-making because I thought she looked fine. Boots were a bit Latrice but oh well. I didn't mind Robbie's runway that much as much as it was unflattering.

Overall it's a really strong bunch and there're only a couple that kinda flatline for me. So here's a ranking.

I'll be disappointed if Naysha comes back. I want it to be a big surprise, and it seems really obvious that it's her atm.

I thought it was unfair for Ru to eliminate both of the queens, I didn't think the lip-sync was that bad to be completely honest. It was obviously done for the dramatics, and both Dax and Laila got really ****ty edits for two queens that had much more to offer. It kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth that they would be treated like this. Double eliminations are really harsh, and I thought as such the first time it happened.

On a lighter note, I'm happy Chi Chi won the challenge. I really slept on her performance ability, and was convinced she'd be an early boot, so I'm glad she's turning it out.

Re: the returning queen... I'm going to be disappointed at best and annoyed at worst. It's obviously going to be a "robbed" queen or someone that's improved considerably that the majority of fans would agree with, which leaves us to consider:

- Max. DULL.

- Laganja. no.
- Miss Fame. No.

I'd even take a Shangela return over any of these. And I'm just going to assume it's not Naysha because who'd even bother to get her phone number?

I mean I can't even really think of one I'd want back. Katya would be a fan favourite but she's already peaked maybe? In terms of queens who I think went home waaaaaay too soon I'd argue for Vivacious, April Carrion or Kelly Mantle, and even then I would give up arguing after about a minute.

Oh and ugh @ another two music challenges being next. Can we have some sewing please!!?!?!?!?

I just feel so sorry for Dax and Laila. It was sad enough when Naysha got upset for being the first to be sent home, but she lost the lip-sync fair and square. It's just so ruthless to send two girls home purely to make the show more dramatic, and have that shown to millions of people around the world. I admire them both for carrying on with drag.

Just watching it now. They were all pretty even in the performance although I can't actually recall seeing Derrick, Dax, Cynthia or Kim standing out. Based on the runway I'd have gone for a Derrick vs. Kim/Dax but the former two are kinda obviously getting an easy ride for their personalities.

Robbie turned it out in both though D: her and Chi Chi were MVPs this week.

I'm quickly going to go off Kim though if they force her innocence and shyness and cuteness down my throat much more obviously. She's nice but this edit is heavier than Phi Phi's makeup.

Totally agree with all this. I never disliked Robbie to begin with tbh. I found him quite funny, actually.

She can literally **** off though. Like, it was sad when she left, but she is just so dull and I can't see her adding any excitement to this season. She was the correct first boot.

As much as I liked Naysha, this kinda sucks :/ Clearly the producers sent home the two girls who were flopping/not providing and they manipulated the results to bring back Naysha for reasons I can't really see. It's not like she was another Trixie.

Just finished watching the episode. Was very enjoyable.

Bob & Thorgy really killed the challenge, I would've been satisfied with either one winning. I think the NY queens are my top 3 atm. They're really bringing it competition and personality-wise. Thorgy's story about her mother was so sad :(

Imma join that anti-Trixie bandwagon too (although I kinda started it after episode 2 of last season :idc:) I get that I don't really follow their careers post-show too much aside from the odd WOW video (and I did actually laugh out loud at her RuPaul impersonations during her/Katya's fill-in for the Fashion Photo RuView - although now I wonder if that's more because of Katya's response to them) so maybe it isn't fair for me to write her off entirely, but what was presented was so low-energy and off-putting to me... her make-up is just ugly, I can't stand to look at her, and I know that's shallow and an artistic choice but I don't get the appeal in looking purposefully OTT. But her sense of humour... I dunno, she kinda reminded me of Pandora during the show in that she thought she was a lot funnier than she came across, and whether that was just frustrating because it was untrue, or frustrating because it was true, the end result was just a queen who didn't own any part of an already super-****ing-weak season seven.

I was disgusted at Acid Betty talking over Trixie while Kim was trying to watch and listen to her best friend. Couldn't she save her vile comments for afterwards? Fontaine, who was like a bilingual Tammie Brown, is from Puerto Rico but has lived in Texas for almost a decade. She promises more goofy charm on her YouTube series "Memoirs of My Cucu."

How long has Texas been home?

I've lived here in Texas for about eight years. I used to live in Killeen, Texas on Fort Hood, the military base city. At the end of 2008, I started performing in Austin. I've been here for about four years. I got my mom and my stepfather and my little brother, they live here in Texas. Part of my family is in the military. I have, like, two aunts here and seven cousins. In Puerto Rico, I was working in social service for HIV awareness. I'm now (doing that) in Austin. It's just a dream come true.

What are your thoughts looking back on the elimination episode?

You know what? Maybe the only perception I have in the moment, it was like, I was taking a risk with my runway look. The skating community here in America is part of pop culture. In the 1960's and the 1970's, it was the most popular sport to watch. If you saw the athletes, they created costumes. I came with a softer look, tried to represent the sexy females from Texas and do a little bit of 'Xanadu.' But the judges said, 'You look a little bit like a super-slutty Hooters waitress.' I was a little bit scared to watch myself on the show since the critics were like, 'Ooh, Cynthia, ay.' But when I saw myself on the episode last night, I was like, 'Oh my God, I look beautiful.' The acting challenge, I feel very confident, even if one of the judges didn't understand my line: 'They need a strong, gay woman running this company!' It was pretty easy to understand, but it's OK. Subtitles available for everybody!

How many times did you try out for the show?

I'm the only one on the season that auditioned twice. All of them auditioned three or four times -- which they hate me for that. They said, 'Ugh, perra, you audition just only twice?' My first audition was two years ago for Season 6. If you saw that first audition tape, it was like watching a commercial at 3 a.m. in the morning selling vacuums. I mean boring. Boring. I did my audition tape for Season 8, and even myself, I can watch that video plenty of times. I was like, 'How funny I am.' I love it.

What's something you didn't get to show the judges?

Maybe, probably a little bit more acting. And a little bit more singing. I love to sing. I've been singing since I was 15 years old. I do opera, and I do some falsettos. (Breaks into opera.) Things like that.

How did you get into drag?

It was an accident. I'm gonna explain to you real quick. In 2006, I had a friend who used to run a show. He was an emcee in Puerto Rico. I used to be a backup dancer for him for pageants. He was a pageant queen, too. He told me, 'I saw you walking in high heels, and you walk better than a drag queen with 25 years experience. I need a favor from you. Tonight, I'm gonna have a show. I don't wanna do that show because tomorrow is the finals for my pageant. I wanna be relaxed. I wanna be calm. So I want you to do that show.' I never did drag! Who's gonna do my makeup or my hair? I did that show, and on the first number, I get $42! I talked to myself, I look in the mirror, and I said, 'Carlos Diaz is not your name anymore. It's Cynthia. This is business. Let's do this.' Thank God for that car accident. Because for me, that was like a drag car accident. I crash so good that this is my 10th anniversary doing drag.

Who did you make friends with on 'Drag Race?'

One of my closest friends right now -- Laila! Not Layla. Laila McQueen. And Bob the Drag Queen. And Acid Betty.

Acid Betty? That's surprising.

Yes! Acid Betty. If you see some of my pictures now, I have a different shape. Not because I'm eating fast food all the time. It's because during the show, I was experiencing some symptoms. As soon as I stopped filming, I came to Austin, Texas, and I got blood work. I got diagnosed with liver cancer, Stage 1. Maybe that was part of my GPS signal lost (on the show). I got just only one chemo treatment. The first person that flew to see me was Acid Betty, and she was like, 'Bitch, I came here to take care of you. I love you. I'm gonna call you every five minutes. You are safe with me because we are sisters.' She is just an extraordinary person. She complains about everything. 'I'm breathing. I hate breathing! I have to do my hair! I have to eat breakfast! Why do I have to eat breakfast?' But she is the most honest and transparent I have met in my entire life. She's like my mother.

How's your health now?

I'm doing good. I'm cancer free. I'm visiting my doctor every month. He says, 'Cynthia, you're doing fantastic. You're weight increased.'

I was like, 'Doctor, that is not funny. That is not good in the drag community.'

He's like, 'It's OK -- look your cucu! It looks more better. It's more juicy. You're good.'

The bigger, the better. I'm from Texas!

I think Betty's trying to do a Willam this season - maybe get herself expelled or so controversial that people are just talking about her by default. She may have auditioned to play fair but the rest seem so strong in areas that she is. I know there're spoilers about her and that she's presumably involved in some big event later in the season but I'm trying to avoid them :laugh: spoiled myself (if it was true) by looking at one of Thorgy's instagram posts (some lame-as commenter deciding to spoil loads of stuff). But aside from not getting Trixie Mattel (completely understandable and 100% correct, well done Betty :clap2: :tongue:), and the most obvious "undermine the leader" performance with Chi Chi, I don't think she's done enough to be hated as much as she is and honestly when most of the hate is just "she's old and looks like that person from AHS" it kinda loses all validity for me and makes me think "**** those tumblr bitches; they worship Violet and Pearl anyway". Oh and obviously Thorgy has issues with her and Thorgy is a sweetheart, but I do kinda wish she'd either address them with Betty herself or get off the pot.

It seems everyone some portions of the fans support has to undergo 6 mini Miss Congeniality competitions before they can be determined "deserving winner" and the hot-as-males are given a free pass. Which is why I expect Naomi and Derrick to skip by without much criticism from the fans (despite literally peaking with their photoshoots in episode one).

Oh and @ whoever championed a "gone-too-soon queens" season, I am down for that. Vivacious, April, Mariah, Cynthia, Lineysha, Morgan, MKD, Gia (I suppose to shut you lot up :idc:), Madame Laqueer, Alisa, Porkchop and Jasmine will do very nicely for a season of 12 queens. (I would of course champion Mariah for the win).

Watched episode 4 earlier.

I thought that was a really cool challenge, and I loved the runway theme. There were some really cool looks (Bob, Acid Betty, Naomi & Naysha in particular...also quite liked Thorgy's tbh).

I'm so glad Robbie pulled a win out of the bag, he totally deserved it. The rest of his team did really well too. I actually have a feeling Robbie could potentially make the top 3, and I'm not mad about it at all.

The NY queens were great as usual, but the other team were a complete mess :joker: Derrick is obviously being kept around to either sink or swim at Snatch Game because he really should've been bottom 2. He failed on both accounts (challenge and runway) imo, whereas Naesha did well with the runway and Chi Chi excelled in the challenge. Not fair that he keeps getting a free pass.

I'm glad Chi Chi stayed, but she does have me conflicted. I really like her one minute but then the next she comes across quite unlikable. Michelle's critique came across a bit annoying because she did have a point. re: Ginger wearing that really expensive gown when other people wore things worth less than $10. And Chi Chi did have a really nice moment on untucked, and I'm glad she genuinely listened and responded to her critique. You just know that if someone like Pearl had the same same critique she'd just be like '(>_<)' and nothing else. Also, this season seems to be like a sisterhood so much more than last season, and it's nice to watch. Everyone really got behind Chi Chi towards the end of Untucked.

I'm not mad about Naysha leaving. I know I've been really anti-Naysha this entire time but it's really because of how basic she is. And it's quite annoying that she outlasted Cynthia.

like I assume he's going to bring the "ratchet drag" comment before Snatch Game in the werkroom bc Michelle's just given it to Bob as a critique/observation, but he's going to be humiliated and presumably deliver a Britney that is 10x worse than Tatianna's because even TATIANNA. TATIANNA. was funnier than Derrick.
