Yeah i think the consensus on 7 is that it loses steam near the end but i still love those post Nikki weeks just as much as Pre Nikki Weeks.

Like I drag BB7 a lot here lately but I love it, its great, I do enjoy more than the first month but in terms of actual drama and events I find it very uneventful after week 4.

BB7 is really overrated, I'd still call it a 'golden age' series because it's still a really great one after two phenomenal ones, and it's still better than BB8 the year after, so the quality is definitely still there, but it's clearly lacking in essential qualities as well.

Tom was one that got much better with time, i don't know whether it was because we got used to the cringeness, whether he changed due to certain exits or whether it was because he started mixing with everyone in the 2nd half of the series.

But i disliked him on entry and liked him on exit.

3, 6 and 8 are amazing series :love: I actually quite liked 11 as well although it's not looked upon that well. 10 was pretty bad but it's rated quite highly by a number of people on here so you may like it.

BB4 - Week 4 (First Watch *Avoid Spoilers*)

The (first ever) double eviction was so random! I don't know if it was planned but it felt like they pressed the panic button in a 4in4out style (though not as harsh).
I'm especially shocked that both Jon and Federico found themselves out so early into the series. They were very dominant and I was expecting both of them getting far.
I'm glad that Cameron stayed. I know people don't like him (not sure why), but I find him very nice, kind, harmless and a good father figure in the house. His quirky flirt with Nush and awkwardness around Tania are heartwarming and funny. Analyzing it, he shares many character traits with Rachel Rice, so rightfully he gets my support. The way he took the fact that he's up for eviction was great. Nothing wrong about being a nice guy in Big Brother.
It took me some time to understand who Nush reminds me of and then it clicked - Phoebe Buffay (I know, random lol). I don't mean the intellect, but there is something in the way she talks and moves (and the optimism) that resembles her. :laugh:
Scott talks in his sleep multiple times, including one time were he talks about his "bumhole". One of the weirdest things to happen in the house :laugh:
Federico needs to grow up. He turned very bitter after it was announced he's up for eviction, including talking about Cameron playing a game and brown-nosing the girls. He didn't do himself any favor ever since the "9 out of 10 girls in Liverpool is a slag" argument. Reminds me of another young good-looking male housemate who was so in love with his own voice until it costed him 100 grand. I read an interview with Fed from around 2010 and he accepted that he acted childishly, so at least he learned his lesson.
Delighted that Jon is out. Such a smug and patronizing guy. Every word that comes out of his mouth and every face expression screams superiority. I don't find it impressive and I'm glad he failed in this public vote.
The way the ex housemates (Sissy!) slag Tania off is just horrible! After her eviction, the housemates managed to hear her saying to Davina that she wants Sissy out (after she realized Tania nominated her). It felt like this is it and Tania is gone this week, but she hardly got any noms and miraculously survived this week. I didn't think I'd like her, but she is one of my biggest surprises of BB.
Already only 7 housemates left... I guess new housemates coming very soon.

On the one hand, it was unfortunately inevitable that Charley would be nominated at some point so it's easy to accept the obvious, but on the other hand, it easily could've been rigged for her. Chanelle, Ziggy and Gerry all discussed that they wanted her out on Friday, not just that but Chanelle practically forcing Ziggy to agree. I was going to think they could've voided all their nominations but even doing that, Charley and Tracey would've still been up with 3 votes; even worse tied with Gerry, meaning I'd have to stomach the public voting Charley out instead of him :bored: .

It annoys me that these 3 said in-depth discussion of wanting Charley out while trying to avoid using the 'nomination' word and instead bull**** like Gerry's 'Charley should leave for her OWN good and for OUR good! :worry: '. Chanelle wasn't even subtle about it, practically saying she hopes Charley is nominated. It's so unfair for me because a) discussing nominations has happened pretty much every week I've watched of BB8 so far and b) just two years ago in BB6 when only one housemate discussed nominations they put the whole house up in a VTE AND the year after the exact same thing happened in BB7 with Nikki's first eviction.

Because Chanelle's clique are dirty little rule breakers, it would've been SO much more satisfying if they punished them by either putting the whole house up in a VTS ensuring Charley's safety or putting those 3 up. They didn't even get the slightest punishment, even Ch5 would've at least put them in a cage for 5 minutes and it'd be worth more.

I'm finding BB8 so difficult to watch sometimes even with Charley still around. They have to each perform as part of a fake TV type of task, and Chanelle is FREAKING out because she has to play a violin and she's throwing the most annoying tantrums I've ever seen. She's so repetitive, loud and nauseating I can't sit through with her without cringing, and not in an entertaining way either

Changes in colour/placing for some of them compared to when they left (ie Nick) because in hindsight I enjoyed them more!

Overall a really solid series for what it is. It's not gonna blow your mind and admittedly I didn't enjoy it as much as the first time I saw it 2 years ago, but it was really breezy to watch and still enjoyable. If you can get past the bumpy presentation of the first week when no one from production really knew what they were doing, and if you can get with the vibe this series has, I'd recommend it.

It's got some FANTASTIC housemates in Caroline and Anna, and of course Nick. What he gets up to seems especially tame by the standards of what followed in the 18 years since this series, and even I didn't buy into it initially, but the presentation is utterly fascinating and peak social experiment.

I dunno if I'm in the minority but this series also has the first awful winner :skull: Craig is so self-righteous and eager to be the top dog in the house that it is nauseating. He was incessantly obsessed with public perception, under some guise of being caring - maybe it was, but it rubbed me the wrong way entirely.
Credit where it's due, he did instigate the Nick confrontation, but his involvement is so overblown by the public. I've said it before and I'll say it again: the only person who got anywhere in that discussion was Anna.

The tasks are very barebones as it truly was a basic social experiment, but for the most part they do their job of forcing the housemates to get to know each other and challenging dynamics and roles. Even something as simple as riding an exercise bike caused division in the house, with Craig accused of being lazy and milking his injury; leading to the first ever BBUK argument between Caroline and Craig. :love: Of course there's also the assault course task, in which Nick hilariously lies that he was in the army or something and it's exposed moments later when he's the worst in the task :joker:

The series has a lot of dated elements - the final week featuring just three housemates, for instance. While I found it fine due to the short episode lengths and Anna existing, it simply would not work in the show today. Indeed, even just a year later they upped the final week number to 4 and it never went below that again. I did love the Monday episodes with the psychologists in between segments - this went on til BB5 or 6 yeah? Imo it kind of encouraged a bit of higher thinking when watching the show and helped me understand certain situations/dynamics a bit more.

BB1 was an iconic piece of television that not only changed the landscape of British television but television worldwide. When Big Brother finally hit here in Australia the year after, it was heavily influenced by the UK version (and continued to be throughout its run), albeit with its own flairs, and the weekly format rather than the fortnightly format became far more popular in international versions. It all started here. :love:

Good first week, not as good as BB6's but probably my second favourite first week overall.
