I know what you mean about Riley and Lynsey, they gel together well. Mercedes just seems a bit too hard faced for Riley. And Rileys puppy dog love is starting to become a bit annoying.

Riley might grow up and grow a backbone when the truth is finally revealed;).

It was a plot device and totally unbelievable that Mercy would go for an 18/19 year old as she usually likes them older and he's a wet drip.

We will definetly see a conclusion to the Gilly/Jacqui storyline towards the end of the year according to Claire Cooper, seems more interesting than some of the rubbish we're seeing now. I can't wait to see who is telling the truth!

Pretty much, a 9 year age gap and that. It seems that Hollyoaks start plots, and then realise they're gonna fail but are already in too deep, so they either make a really crappy end for it or drag it on until it becomes far too unrealistic.

Exactly or Ethan falling in love with schoolgirls and risking his job but it happens in some cases:joker:. They've had an overhaul of the writing team and the way they plan storylines so I hope it has the positive effect that is needed:).

There's too many stories in the show now where you have to rely on the story being stupidly dumbed down and spoonfed to the audience to make sure they get every tiny little plot development. It's just all too unconvincing.

And I really don't get the love for Brendan and Ste. Ste can't act, Brendan's very pantomime, there's not a flicker of chemistry between them sexually, romantically, dramatically, they just look silly and Noah is just awful in every sense.

Can't believe we've gone from Steph, Max, OB, Clare, Warren, Louise, Justin etc to this bunch of caricatures. I wish there was a way of watching 2006-2008 episodes. I miss them.

There are good ideas in there, yeah. But the execution of it and the majority of characters used for it let it down big time.

Spot on man. Just nothing flows as well as it used to. They don't have the right people, concentrate on the idiots. It going through a very very dire patch again, I never used to cringe at HO, but recently it's just hard not to. I feel sorry for the younger ones that missed out on the great days. 2004-2008 was it at it's best. But all the changing producers and writers seemed to mess it up. They used to have the good strong families going as well. But now they have one family (McQueens) that they have to keep bringing random cousins in for. Nobody interacts, plots don't make sense, people vanish for weeks on end. As to why they need that stupid previous bits which makes it look even more corny. It's like they want HO to look stupid

Really dissapointed in this whole Warren/Brenden/Dodger/Mitzee thing. First of all Dodger turned out to be pretty much pointless in it all, seen as he just have the money back. And the way he got the code in the first place was stupidly farfetched. Next we have Mitzeee who yeah she got the cash, but why would she spend it in Cindys shop? She is meant to like the high life and could've gone into Chester or spent it in London. E4 bit...

So she gets tracked by the fact she spent the cash in Cindy's shop. Ridiculously weak and shallow plot tbh. And guess who turns up to arrest? Oh, of course Ethan! Who we have not seen at work for weeks on end, and now gets set to her case lol Plus why would he arrest her himself, especially when there were police just behind him? The acting was ok with everyone apart from Ethan, but such a **** storyline

Diane hasn't had much scenes with anyone apart from Sinead, Bart, Myra and Finn though:(.

They need to interact Diane with the village and use Alex Fletcher more, a disgrace she's another actor being sidelined for the likes of Liberty and Noah even though Hollyoaks is mainly aimed at the young demographic.

The current student group is rubbish at the moment:shocked:, they hardly study. They will bring some more in at some point but they should probably develop this current group more and maybe bring in the new group next year.

Exactly, the writing is so inconsistent:bored:. They have had a big overhaul of the writing team so maybe they have finally recognised that there is problems with it and we'll see major improvements soon.

He was announced as Acting Producer when Paul Marquess suddenly announced his departure (there were rumours Lime Pictures might have axed him but Paul said in an interview he quit hmmm..).

So HO could have initally had Gareth in to steady the ship while trying to find someone else to take over but then just decided to give him the job because he was in the writing team when Paul was producer.

Reading that there has been more promotions by C4, maybe they have finally got the message and can try to lure some more viewers back:).

Sick and tired of reading that the show will be axed, it might be one day but C4 and Lime Pictures keep denying it. The HO brand is popular and still focused on the main demographic. If they axed it they would need to create a new soap to replace it and that could cause problems.

I'm fed up of reading about shows getting axed. Why don't they just close down half the bleeding channels instead of ruining shows we all love.

I don't think it will be axed but still needs a lot of work doing to it. But the last time they tries mass axings and bringing loads of new ones in it failed so bad. They just need to slowly seep the bad ones out. I mean they're not stupid, they MUST know who's good and bad, and people are paid to find out who the public are liking and not liking

Some of C4 current shows are dire and having just axed Big Brother I think losing another long term show could do more harm then good tbh.

There were rumours that the new boss Jay Hunt, who used to work at the BBC had it in mind to axe the show when she was appointed as the new boss at C4 which was immediately denied.

E4 is still clogged up with old repeats of Friends that should be removed from the schedules..

Thing is the fans have been going on about the likes of Liberty etc for ages now and the management still haven't listened yet, they immediately got rid of the Sharpes after they proved unpopular.

The cast needs trimming down and exits should be slowly done as there were too many at once before and it was hard to keep up:joker:.
