who is Logan?

Logan Fairhurst, played by Thomas Sean Hughes, is a character that arrived on 25 October 2010, during Hollyoaks Later. He takes a shine to Theresa McQueen straight away. He is a policeman and best friend of Riley Costello.

Logan first sees Theresa whilst at the cage fighting event. He is instantly attracted to Theresa as he sees her from across the room. Riley tells her that he is a footballer. Logan and Theresa grow close during a party at a footballer's house and eventually share a kiss. However, pregnant Theresa's waters break and she goes into labour. Logan arrives at hospital to see Theresa, but Theresa's cousin Jacqui McQueen makes her end their relationship in worry they may be found out for Theresa's murder of Calvin Valentine.

Hollyoaks star Craig Vye has thanked the soap's bosses for an "amazing year" after bowing out as Ethan Scott.

Last night, viewers saw Ethan's final scenes on the Channel 4 show as the guilt of his hit and run crime became too much to bear - prompting him to hand himself in.

Writing on Twitter this morning, Vye commented: "In response to all your tweets, I'm afraid to say that Ethan has left Hollyoaks. I feel very sad, I love the show and everyone involved.

"I wanna thank all at Lime Pictures and Hollyoaks for an amazing year. I will never forget my time on the show. It's the best job ever.

"I believe there was a lot more to explore with Ethan and the door is always open in my mind, but it was just my time to move on. I wanna say a massive, massive thank you to all my followers and supporters, you've been incredible and you've made me feel really valued.

"I have BIG love for all of you who have followed me over this journey and watch this space because there will be some exciting stuff coming up for me next year!"

Vye continued: "Most of all I'm gonna miss my lovely friends at Lime Pictures, the staff, the cast and the crew. You guys and Liverpool rock."

Ethan joined Hollyoaks in December 2010 and quickly found himself in a love triangle with Liberty Savage (Abi Phillips) and Theresa McQueen (Jorgie Porter). His personal life became even more complicated in the summer as he added Rae Wilson (Alice Barlow) to his list of girlfriends.

The character's work as a police detective also regularly saw him at odds with village bad boys Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan) and Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas).

Brilliant E4 episode tonight, loved the scenes with Brendon, Joel and Warren with the lads in the club. (Although I didn't quite catch what they were doing celebrating in there during the day.)

Hollyoaks star Emmett Scanlan has expressed his excitement over the upcoming final showdown between Brendan Brady and Warren Fox.

Warren (Jamie Lomas) leaves the soap later this month and his exit storyline will see him go head-to-head with Brendan one last time.

Hollyoaks fans have recently seen the pair's rivalry reignited, and the storyline hots up in the next few days as Brendan teams up with Warren's on-off girlfriend Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) to bring him down. He does so after hearing details of how Warren killed Louise Summers.

However, when Warren starts to suspect that Mitzeee is plotting against him, he takes her to the place where he buried Louise - leading to fears that history could repeat itself.

Scanlan told All About Soap: "Brendan has no idea where she's gone, but knows Warren's responsible. In the end, he works out they're at Louise's grave in the woods and it's a race against time to get there before Warren kills again.

"[Brendan] doesn't want her to die, but he's more worried about his proof that Warren killed Louise going with her to the grave. Without Mitzeee, he'd have to start over again. If he can save her between framing Warren that's great, but if she dies, she dies!"

Asked whether he was glad to be involved in Warren's departure, Scanlan replied: "Yes, I would definitely have been disappointed if I wasn't. Jamie Lomas and I work well together, and his exit's a good opportunity to get the two bad boys fighting it out for the final showdown."

Hollyoaks airs the dramatic events on Friday, December 23 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Former Neighbours actor Dan O'Connor has landed a role on Hollyoaks.

O'Connor, who played Ned Parker on the soap between 2005 and 2008, is due to play an ex-military medic named Ally who arrives in Chester fresh from service in Afghanistan.

"He has a dark past that will be uncovered eventually in true soap style," he teased to Sydney's Daily Telegraph.

O'Connor found fame in Oz as a contestant on the 2004 series of Australian Idol and also appeared in UK reality show Celeb Air in 2008.

During his time on Neighbours, O'Connor's character survived a fire, a car crash and discovered that he was secretly a father.

Ned's love child Mickey Gannon, played by child star Fletcher O'Leary, left Neighbours in July 2009.

I liked the whole Callum/Maddie story to begin with, but bringing in Tara so soon after their first date has kinda ruined it. It's like they are trying to tell us that Callum and Maddie are deeply in love and are just hurting each other rather than trying to work things out.

Hollyoaks star Gemma Merna has promised that the soap's bosses have a "big year" lined up for the McQueen family in 2012.

The actress, who has played Carmel McQueen for five years, expressed excitement over future storylines involving her screen family.

Merna told the Daily Star: "There's some really good stuff coming up next year - I'm not allowed to say anything so you'll just have to keep watching. But it's going to be a big year for the McQueen family.

"Hopefully I can get back to being 'fun' Carmel. She's had so many dramas with men, so it will be nice for her to have some fun. It's time for the family to get back to being the party McQueens."

The 27-year-old added that she would like to see Carmel come to the forefront in her own right in the coming months.

"Next year I want a fantastic storyline for Carmel and something to get my teeth into," she explained. "I think she's just pottered along so it would be nice next year for something to play out in Carmel's life without everyone else being involved. It would be great to see her a bit more on screen."

Carmel's main storylines this year saw her pursue a future as a nun before falling for con artist Father Francis (Richard Winsor).

Former Hollyoaks star Carley Stenson has admitted that she would consider another return to the soap.

The actress, who reprises her role as Steph Roach in a one-off Boxing Day special, said that the cast of the Channel 4 soap is like family to her.

"Never say never, I think. I always said when I chose to leave, before I knew how I was going to leave, that I would come back," she told MSN.

"I love it there - it's like my second home. It's around the corner from my actual home and my family.

"I love my character but I couldn't tell anyone that I was going back because I didn't want to ruin the surprise. In the future, maybe another year down the line, Steph may come back. It depends on what I'm doing as well!"

Steph was killed off in a fire last December and Stenson is currently starring in the West End production of Legally Blonde.

Hollyoaks star Lucy Dixon has revealed that she is aiming to present a positive portrayal of teen life on the soap.

The actress made her debut as Tilly Evans in June and became a regular from September, when her character joined Hollyoaks' sixth form college.

Tilly's first storyline saw her have a holiday romance with Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) in Abersoch, but she has since shared most of her screen time with her fellow sixth formers.

Dixon told the Manchester Evening News of Tilly: "I think she just represents the general 16/17-year-olds in a brilliant way. Not all teenagers are binge-drinkers, and Tilly is the exact opposite of anything like that. She shows the good in teenagers. She's a hard worker, she's confident and self-assured.

"That includes in her sexuality. What is brilliant about Hollyoaks is they don't need to make a big issue of the fact she's a lesbian, she's just a teenager getting on with things.

"She's not defined by her sexuality, nobody is and I think that really shines through. You see that in the storylines between Ste and Brendan, too - the storyline is the domestic abuse in a relationship, it isn't that they're gay."

Dixon added that her interest in acting began at an early age when she took part in a school play.

"My mum and dad tell me that after that day I never stopped talking about it and, from that point on, I think they knew that was probably going to be the career for me," she said.

Paul Marquess had that planned but then his sudden out of the blue departure came and there were rumours on the net about some behind the scenes things, we'll never know but the storyline was scrapped:(.

Hollyoaks star Lucy Dixon has revealed that she is aiming to present a positive portrayal of teen life on the soap.

The actress made her debut as Tilly Evans in June and became a regular from September, when her character joined Hollyoaks' sixth form college.

Tilly's first storyline saw her have a holiday romance with Esther Bloom (Jazmine Franks) in Abersoch, but she has since shared most of her screen time with her fellow sixth formers.

Dixon told the Manchester Evening News of Tilly: "I think she just represents the general 16/17-year-olds in a brilliant way. Not all teenagers are binge-drinkers, and Tilly is the exact opposite of anything like that. She shows the good in teenagers. She's a hard worker, she's confident and self-assured.

"That includes in her sexuality. What is brilliant about Hollyoaks is they don't need to make a big issue of the fact she's a lesbian, she's just a teenager getting on with things.

"She's not defined by her sexuality, nobody is and I think that really shines through. You see that in the storylines between Ste and Brendan, too - the storyline is the domestic abuse in a relationship, it isn't that they're gay."

Dixon added that her interest in acting began at an early age when she took part in a school play.

"My mum and dad tell me that after that day I never stopped talking about it and, from that point on, I think they knew that was probably going to be the career for me," she said.

I like the Maddie, George and Tilly threesome; granted I get people find George annoying and over the top, but I think it said he has a big sotryline coming up, so Im still going to give him a chance and see how he handles the storyline.

Hollyoaks newcomer Joel Dexter has some big scenes on the way this week in the build-up to his father Warren's dramatic departure from the soap.

Since arriving in the village a month ago, Joel has been gradually growing closer to Warren (Jamie Lomas) - but he has also seen a side to the nightclub owner that he doesn't like.

As Warren turns nasty with girlfriend Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) this week and takes her to Louise's grave, it's a race against time for Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan) to save her before history repeats itself. But whose side will Joel be on?

Here, 18-year-old Andrew Still - who plays Joel - chats to Digital Spy about the storyline and joining Hollyoaks.

You've been filming at Hollyoaks for about three months now. How's it all going?

"It's been fantastic. I've been working with some great people like Jamie Lomas, Emmett Scanlan and Rachel Shenton, and they've really taught me a lot. At first it's just a case of getting into the swing of things, and I definitely feel like I've done that now.

"Jamie, Emmett and Rachel have all been fantastic and you really couldn't ask for better co-workers. I've learned so much from all three of them. They each have very different styles, so you can pick up tips from all of them. I've especially liked the scenes where I've been working with all three of them - it's a nice melting pot, and it gives me a lot of inspiration to see what they're doing."

How long have you been acting for?

"I've been acting since I was about 11, in school plays and things like that. Then when I was 15, I started working with the Scottish Youth Theatre, so I've been doing a lot of plays with them. I've always wanted to pursue acting but I felt it was unrealistic, so I decided to do Art instead.

"I went to Art school but then I also did a play last summer, and after that I realised that acting was definitely what I wanted to do. I got this job at Hollyoaks not long afterwards, so I've been very fortunate with how things fell."


How did you first hear about the role of Joel?

"I received an email from one of the directors at the Scottish Youth Theatre, which had details of an open casting call for this job. I decided to go for it, and here we are! I've moved from Glasgow to Liverpool for the part, but I totally feel settled now and I love Liverpool. I live with a bunch of the other Hollyoaks guys in a big student house."

What kind of a reaction have you had from Hollyoaks fans so far?

"Everyone has been really supportive. I personally don't think that I hit my stride until my third week, when we had the scene with myself, Jamie and Emmett at the pub. Watching the scenes back, that's when I started really liking the stuff that was coming out. With the stuff that came before, I was looking back and thinking that I could maybe have done a bit better.

"I think you could see that through the comments, too - most of them were nice but there were one or two who were critical at first. But I think you get that all the time with new characters - people are wary of change, but you need it to keep things vibrant on the show."


Joel has been quite a mysterious character so far. How would you describe him?

"Well, there's been a lot of people calling Joel a bad boy and I think he does have that side to him, but I think mostly he's a guy with a lot of issues. He's also searching for something because he doesn't really have a focus in his life - he's quite floaty as a character and when we first saw him, he didn't even have anywhere to stay.

"At first, finding his dad was the main thing for Joel and now that he's found him, he's trying to connect with him and find that connection that he doesn't really have anywhere else. He's got a tough outer shell, but inside he's quite vulnerable."

In one of your first scenes, Joel was quite mean to Maddie. Does he have a nasty side or was that just a one-off?

"I don't think it was a one-off because it does happen with Joel - he has a quick temper in the same way that Warren does. But I think Joel also has a conscience. At the time, he was ranting and raving, but the next day he was apologising straight away. Having that guilt and having that conscience is what makes Joel different to Warren."

Joel has a lot of screen time this week in the build-up to Warren's big exit. How did you feel about getting such a big storyline straight away?

"I thought it was fantastic! I think that's what you want when you join a show - you want to be thrown in at the deep end, because then you have to think on your feet and learn as quickly as possible. I think that's when it challenges you the most, and that's what actors want from a role. I couldn't have asked for a better entrance."

Would you say that Joel has built up a bond with Warren now?

"I think when they were in Paris they did build up a connection. Now that they're back, you'll see that they're a lot closer. It's interesting, as Warren started out not even wanting Joel to come on the trip, because he wanted it to be a romantic holiday for him and Mitzeee. But over those days in Paris, a connection was made between Warren and Joel - while Warren and Mitzeee are drifting further apart."

What does Joel make of Brendan after the scenes they've had together?

"Well, when Joel first came into the village, he wasn't getting the answers from Warren that he was hoping for - in fact, he wasn't getting any answers at all! So he turned to Brendan as a way to find out more about his dad. But as Joel and Warren have made a bit more of a connection, Brendan has kind of fallen by the wayside. Joel's very wary of Brendan now - especially after what his dad's told him, and what he's seen for himself."


How does Joel feel after he sees Warren try to get violent with Mitzeee?

"Well, as we've seen on the show so far, Joel hates any kind of violence towards women after what happened with his stepdad, but the problem is that Warren has a violent nature. Joel feels like it's his responsibility to stop Warren's violent tendencies from coming out towards Mitzeee.

"It doesn't sit well with Joel and it's hard for him. He likes having a connection with his dad, but there are aspects of Warren's personality that he hoped he wouldn't find - especially as it mirrors his family life back home. There'll be a big conflict for Joel as to whether he stands by his dad or stands by his principles."


What can you tell us about what Joel does after Warren takes Mitzeee to Louise's grave?

"Brendan is hoping to track the two of them down before it's too late, as he thinks that Warren could kill Mitzeee. Joel is there in the car with him. But then Joel pulls a gun on Brendan to deal with him, following the instructions of his dad. I can't say any more than that so you'll have to tune in and see what happens next."

Do you think Joel's connection with Theresa could be explored more?

"Yes, I do think that's something that could possibly be explored more in the future. We'll just have to see, because obviously Theresa is with Will at the moment. But I definitely think there's something left over between Theresa and Joel, and it's something that could possibly be explored more."

It's no secret that you're still filming with Hollyoaks, so what do you think Joel's role in the village will be in the long-term?

"At the moment I can't say too much, but what I will say is that Joel is a great part to play and he definitely has a place in the village. But you'll just have to wait and see what that could be!"

Finally, how do you feel about Joel's new nickname Scottish Foxy - as given to him by Brendan?

"I thought that was brilliant! When we were filming that scene, it was hilarious as every time we did it, Emmett would change it. So we had Scottish Foxy, James Dean Foxy, Fonzie, Little Foxy - he changed it every time to try and make us laugh! That was a really fun scene to do."

Hollyoaks' Silas plot has been voted the 'Best Soap Storyline' of 2011 in Digital Spy's end-of-year reader poll.

The dark tale, which saw the serial killer claim four victims in the village, triumphed in the survey of our 12 million monthly users.

Silas, played by Jeff Rawle, murdered India Longford (Beth Kingston), Rebecca Massey (Daisy Turner), Rae Wilson (Alice Barlow) and his own daughter Heidi Costello (Kim Tiddy) during his reign of terror.

The evil grandfather also spent months tormenting nurse Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan), who was the only person to suspect him.

Fans finally saw Silas get his comeuppance last month, when the police realised that he was responsible for the village's sinister crimes.

Hollyoaks' series producer Emma Smithwick said today: "Thank you to all the readers on Digital Spy for voting and continuing to support the show, it's a fantastic end to a brilliant year at Hollyoaks. Long may it continue into 2012 when we have a few surprises up our sleeve for you."

Hollyoaks have lost the knack for ending stories.

Louise's exit, Niall's exit, Claire's first exit were all great. Silas and Warren's recent exits were kind of abrupt ends to the stories and quickly forget about them.

They both were left at the arrest point aswell, when there'd no doubt be a full investigation and trial with both cases. Ah, well.
No doubt Jamie Lomas is going to try out for pilot season in America again. He'll be back in 2013.

Hollyoaks newcomer Montana Manning has revealed her character is set to be a heartbreaker.

The former member of girlband Cookie arrived in the village this week as sexy drama student Jodie Wilde and has already caught the eye of Hollyoaks hunk Dodger. But Montana revealed Jodie isn't very interested in men.

She said: "She will set hearts racing and its because she's different to most girls - she can switch on and off.

"Her focus is performing arts. Falling in love to her is a fools game - she treats 'em mean and keeps 'em keen!"

Montana hopes Jodie doesn't fall out with all the other girls, but admits it could happen.

She said: "I think she's very likeable but you never know... girls do fancy that Dodger and I think he may have a thing for her."

But the actress hopes Jodie will be more than just a pretty face.

She said: "I hope she has some gritty storylines, I think there is a lot behind her confidence and flirty eyes that she keeps hidden."

Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas has said that his most recent exit from the soap has given his character closure.

The actor plays Warren Fox, who was finally arrested during last night's episode (December 23) for Louise Summers's murder - which he committed back in December 2008.

Lomas had previously left Hollyoaks in 2009 when his character was caught in a fire started by Clare Devine, but returned the following year.

"It was quite emotional filming my last scenes," he told E4. "I mean, it was emotional the last time I filmed them, but it's kind of closure this time. I think I had to come back to end it finally.

"It's a really dark storyline to go out on. It's going to be exciting stuff. It was sad to say goodbye, I'm going to miss everyone, but onwards and upwards hopefully."

Speaking of a potential return to Hollyoaks, he said: "Never say never. I didn't think I'd make a return after last time and I did, so never say never. I would like to do a little guest appearance in future."

Double post;). Well I tweeted the producer about Diane and she was asked about her in the DS interview too and said that she was planning to use Diane more in 2012, hope that is true!

Oh I hope that happens. Alex Fletcher is such a great actress I feel like they are killing her by not having her on the show. She definitely needs a partner, either a new love interest of a best friend.

As for the sixth formers, they started to grow on me, well George, Maddie and Calum did. The Maddie/Calum story was too rushed.

I think he has been consumed by anger and bitterness over everything that has happened but Riley is definitely returning that is for certain..

Hollyoaks back on form comedy wise, with the mass catfight in Cinergy, can't help but feel sorry for Cindy, yes she's a bitch, but she's got a vulnerable side too, and she's hilarious.

Hollyoaks star Bronagh Waugh has revealed that viewers will soon see an "ambitious" and "determined" side to her character Cheryl Brady as she decides to start university.

Cheryl is about to announce plans to get back into education, sharing the news with her brother Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) and best friend Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan) later this month.

Waugh told All About Soap: "Cheryl wants to take some control back in her life. She's very ambitious and doing a degree is something that she feels very passionate about. Cheryl thinks it's a great idea, but Brendan is a bit mean and mocks her decision.

"I don't think he's trying to be nasty, but it just makes Cheryl all the more determined to prove him wrong."

Asked which course Cheryl wants to study, the actress replied: "Business and marketing, which is pretty ironic given Cheryl's track record with money! I'd love for her to do well, though. She could be like Elle in Legally Blonde, swanning into uni wearing silly little outfits and amazing everyone with her intellect!

Hollyoaks is still inconsistent, sometimes there is a big rise in quality on screen then it goes back to a lull and the aftermath of storylines have been disappointing and of course characters random personality transplants.

The writing has improved but I hope there continue to be changes behind the scenes to do with it and.
