Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has admitted that his character Darren Osborne's upcoming wedding plans could be a big mistake.
As first revealed last month, Darren soon decides that a surprise Valentine's Day ceremony would be the perfect romantic gesture for girlfriend Nancy (Jessica Fox) - so he starts plotting the event in secret.
Dawson told Soaplife of the storyline: "He's got The Dog back, is content with life and thinks, 'Why not?' He wants to show Nancy how much he loves her and thinks a surprise wedding will do that."
Asked whether it's a good idea, the actor replied: "I don't think so. What does Darren know about weddings? Nancy would want something classy and Darren doesn't have any cash. He'll have to call in a lot of favours, but he hasn't got many friends.
"But this is Darren for you. He comes up with an idea - a bad one - and has to see it through even though he could end up upside-down in mud."

Hollyoaks actress Rachel Shenton has hinted that her character Mitzeee Minniver may have a new romantic interest in the near future.
Mitzeee was most recently with Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas), before her actions led to his murder arrest and subsequent departure.
On playing the character, Shenton told Newsscoop: "I love playing Mitzeee, she's a complex soul, with a million faces.
"She can be ruthless and shrewd yet insecure and vulnerable. As an actress it's a blast to play. I wouldn't change a thing about her - well, maybe I'd like her to wear more clothes!"
Speaking about working with Lomas on scenes involving Mitzeee and Warren's relationship, she said: "Jamie's great, we had such a blast filming his final scenes.
"On some of the aggressive parts, we decided the best thing to do was not hold back & just go for it, which was a little scary at times."
When asked about the future for Mitzeee, she explained: "I'm not going to say too much, all I'm saying is I'm very excited at a potential new romance for Mitzeee."
Shenton recently said that she admires Mitzeee's "ruthless" personality.

Hollyoaks actor Emmett J Scanlan doesn't think Brendan Brady is cut out to be a good dad.
The bad boy's teenage son Declan returns to the village next week after running away from his mum in Ireland and when Brendan struggles to keep him in check, he feels a failure.
Emmett told Inside Soap magazine: "Brendan has this incredibly empty feeling inside. He's trying to be a good father, but he simply can't do it.
"He can't change the person he really is."
Brendan loves his son and he wants to set him a good example, but it is a real struggle.
Emmett said: "It's flattering for Brendan that Declan's come running back. But he obviously has to make it clear to Declan that what he did was wrong, and that he doesn't condone his actions in any way.
"In fact Brendan and his sister Cheryl plan to send Declan right back to his mother - but in the end, they don't have the heart to do that to him."

Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox has expressed her excitement over future plans for her character Nancy Hayton.
The actress, who has been playing Nancy since 2005, recently landed a new deal to stay with the show for the foreseeable future.
Fox told Inside Soap: "I've just signed a new contract, so I'm sticking around for the time being. I get spoilt with really good plots - and what's coming up is, in my opinion, Nancy's biggest storyline.
"It will be a big year for Nancy and Darren, so I'm very excited."
The 28-year-old added that she was glad to see Nancy moving into The Dog with the Osborne clan at the end of last year. She had previously been living at the Osbornes' house for a few months.
Asked to name her favourite place to film, Fox replied: "It used to be Nancy's flat - I was devastated when we had to move out. Our head of design said I could take anything I wanted, so I auctioned Nancy's freaky doll clock for the charity Breast Cancer Care.
"Nancy's actually moved into the pub with the rest of the Osbornes now, and it's very 'her'."
Hollyoaks airs weekdays at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first look screening at 7pm on E4.

Don't usually care for the more OTT characters like Lee, Duncan and now Dennis.

Hollyoaks newcomer Mandip Gill has revealed the first details of her role as homeless teen Phoebe on the soap.
As reported at the weekend, Phoebe is currently sharing a squat with sixth former George Smith (Steven Roberts) as neither have anywhere else to go.
Hollyoaks introduces Phoebe in upcoming episodes as George's fellow student Callum Kane (Laurie Duncan) discovers the truth about his living arrangements.
When Callum later starts hanging around the squat, Phoebe becomes nervous - wanting him to stay away and stop interfering.
Gill told TV Times of her character: "She's streetwise. Whereas George is new to all this, she has done it for a long time. While Callum is a good friend of George's, in her eyes anyone from the 'outside' is trouble.
"She fears being grassed up. She doesn't want to go into care and she doesn't want to be separated from George. He and her dog Thunder are all she has."
When George has a falling-out with Phoebe, he ends up deciding to live on his own. However, Phoebe feels guilty as she knows that George hasn't been feeling well lately - so she has to ask Callum for help.
"By this point, George is very ill and she knows it'd be on her conscience if anything happened to him," Gill added.

Dancing On Ice star Jorgie Porter has revealed the secret to her top scoring routines, admitting that she is getting skating tips from fellow Hollyoaks co-stars who have also appeared on the celebrity reality show.
Jennifer Metcalfe, better known as Mercedes McQueen, and Kieron Richardson who plays Ste Hay, have been helping the young actress with her nerves.
Jorgie, who plays Theresa McQueen on the popular Channel 4 soap, told The Mirror: “Kieron and Jen told me to not be scared - and not to be afraid to fall over either because there's a fear factor that stops you from doing tricks."
The young actress added: "Jen said don't wear green. Apparently it's bad luck on the first show or something like that. I think every time a person has worn green on the first show they've been out.
"The costume guy asked me if I was okay with wearing it and luckily I knew because Jen told me. She's so supportive."
Juggling both Hollyoaks and Dancing On Ice has proved a challenge to the young star, who is finding that she is too busy to even have regular meals: "When I wake up, I have a nap in the car which is an hour to training, then I don't have food until one or two (o'clock) and I'm starving in the taxi, feeling really weak.
"You kind of miss meals a bit because you're so busy. So you really need to remember to eat.”
Luckily Hollyoaks’ bosses have been a bit more understanding in terms of schedules and have allowed Jorgie a few days off, after previous Dancing On Ice contestant Jennifer became so tired she kept falling asleep in the make-up chair and couldn’t even hold a conversation with her Hollyoaks co-stars.

Hollyoaks star Anna Shaffer has admitted that she wants her character Ruby Button to maintain her latest romance.
Viewers have recently seen Ruby pursue a relationship with sixth former Jono (Dylan Llewellyn), who was introduced to the soap last summer.
However, whether the couple are built to last remains to be seen, as Ruby is motivated by a desire to climb the social ladder by joining the sixth form gang - while Jono is looking for any opportunity to brag to his friends.
Shaffer told OK Extra of the storyline: "You're left wondering whether they will get together. She's spent a year being horrible to everyone, so it would be good if she settled down and started having a nice time with Jono."
"[Ruby] is a tart with a heart, but she finds it hard to trust people," she continued. "She has deep-seated insecurities and she feels quite lonely."
Shaffer added that she is still enjoying life at Hollyoaks after starring on the show for just over a year.
"It's been the best year of my life," she said. "It was daunting, but I've made great friends too. I live with Jorgie Porter and we're really close.
"We watch trashy telly like the Kardashians. We can't cook, but we love Marks and Spencer's food because you can just shove it in the oven and it tastes amazing!"

Yes. I'm really really enjoying the teens now (Never thought I would) but again overkill can hinder them.
It's like Aaron in Emmerdale and Becky in Corrie. Both those came into the soaps with a big bang and I think they blew many fans away. Then when the producers knew how much they were loved and the impact they made on their shows, it felt like they were throwing everything at them. I picked up on a few sites that fans were getting tired.
I can't remember where I read this, but somewhere it was nicknamed Aarondale. It might have been on here.
I could watch Brendan every night, he's such a complex character, but I'd rather they gave him regular breaks.
I was so waiting for him to appear after he ran away from prison, but actually enjoyed the suspense even more. Waiting, knowing that he was going to turn up in the end.

Hollyoaks fans will see Nancy Hayton's mother Margaret pay a return visit to the village next month, it has been revealed.
Margaret, who was last seen on screen in 2007, could throw a spanner in the works for Nancy's (Jessica Fox) relationship with Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) as All About Soap reports that she is determined to split the pair up once she makes her arrival.
Digital Spy can confirm that actress Darryl Fishwick has reprised the role of Margaret for the return stint.

Hollyoaks' new recruit Dan O'Connor has predicted that it won't take long before his character Ally finds romance in the village.
The former Neighbours star joined the cast of the soap late last year and viewers will see Ally's first scenes in a fortnight's time.
Hinting at what the future holds for the new arrival, O'Connor told All About Soap: "There's definitely potential for a romantic relationship developing between Ally and someone, but my lips are sealed on who it could be!"
Ally sets up home in Hollyoaks as a new lodger for Rhys Ashworth (Andrew Moss) and Jacqui McQueen (Claire Cooper), but the pair's neighbours Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) are particularly intrigued by his presence.
"Both Ste and Amy take an instant fancy to him, but Ally's not really aware of their interest," O'Connor continued. "The whole thing is pretty innocent to start off with, but it quickly gets more complicated when Ste and Amy make it their mission to find out whether Ally is gay or straight.
"There's some mystery surrounding Ally's sexual orientation, but I don't think he realises that Amy and Ste are trying to find out which way he swings. They're both being ultra nice and saying suggestive things to him. I know which team he bats for, but the producers have sworn me to secrecy."
Hollyoaks airs Ally's first episode on Tuesday, January 31 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Hollyoaks star Stephanie Waring has admitted that her character Cindy Longford has a hidden agenda when she agrees to help ex-boyfriend Darren Osborne with his secret wedding mission.
As fans already know, Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) will soon start plotting the ultimate romantic gesture for partner Nancy (Jessica Fox) as he makes plans for a surprise wedding ceremony.
Cindy later becomes embroiled in Darren's scheme when she pretends to be Nancy in front of the registrar for his wedding licence to be granted - as seen in pictures released at the weekend.
However, Cindy is actually harbouring real feelings for Darren - secretly hoping that she can win him back.
Waring told TV Times: "Cindy has got her own agenda. It used to be all about the money for her, but now she's lost it, she realises what's important.
"Darren is her soulmate. He's always been there for her and she wants him back."
Cindy lost her assets at the beginning of the year after poor financial decisions came back to haunt her.

Hollyoaks star Jonny Clarke has promised that his character will be at the centre of a new, controversial storyline.
The actor plays Bart McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, who has already been involved in a stabbing and a sex change plot since arriving in the village.
"I've got this big storyline coming up in Hollyoaks, which should be exciting and quite controversial. I really can't wait to nail the performance," Clarke told i-D.
Speaking of how he landed a role in Hollyoaks, he added: "I basically was really bad at school, just got really bad grades. I knew I needed to earn a living and I knew I wanted to be an actor, but I wanted a certain skill so I could earn money whilst I was doing it. I thought hairdressing maybe.
"I went to my Dad who got me an agent and I got a job doing a viral thing for a university and then an audition came up for Hollyoaks a week later. I just went to audition and then on the drive back home with my Mum they said I got the part."
Clarke recently admitted that he was "so nervous" about filming Bart's shock stage invasion at a Wretch 32 concert in London last year.
-----------------------
More of the teens I guess, shame I like some, but others I dont, and Bart is one I dont like, I presume the storyline will involve his father, or him getting some serious disability in a crash from that Neil guys driving.

Not really liking where ES is going with Hollyoaks at the moment. It's almost in danger of becoming like the Lucy Allen era. It seems she just cut off all the good plots to start her own, and all they seem to be are teen dominated. What's worse is there are no long term spoilers, so fans don't even have anything to look forward to.

Hollyoaks bosses have begun casting for a deaf teenage character who will join the soap later this year, Digital Spy has learned.
Show chiefs are looking for a young deaf actor who will play a 16-year-old male character named Mikey on the programme.
The newcomer will initially appear as a guest on the teen drama, but it is thought that he could later become a regular.
Hollyoaks will also put Mikey at the centre of an online spinoff initiative which feeds into his role on the main soap.
An online casting call for the part reads: "Hollyoaks is looking for a deaf actor over 16 years old. This is a brilliant role for a young deaf actor.
"After a few initial episodes, the role will feature heavily in groundbreaking online material, before returning to the show and potentially becoming a regular character.
"Actors can be fully or partially deaf, must be able to communicate in sign language, and must be either 16 or older and able to realistically play 16."
Digital Spy understands that the early details of Mikey's role are subject to change as character and storyline plans are often altered after the casting stage.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with a first-look screening at 7pm on E4.

Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has insisted that his character Darren Osborne isn't interested in Cindy Longford when she makes a move on him later this month.
Cindy (Stephanie Waring) has been helping Darren to plan his secret wedding to Nancy (Jessica Fox) in recent weeks, while still harbouring feelings for him.
As seen in pictures released at the weekend, Cindy will plant a kiss on Darren unexpectedly next week - leaving him stunned
However, Dawson told TV Times: "Straight away, Darren pushes her away and says, 'No, I'm with Nancy now'.
"He's been through two weddings with Cindy where he's tried to stop her from going ahead with it so she could marry him instead. She didn't take the bait, and he's over all that."
The actor added that the upcoming return of Nancy's mother Margaret will cause Darren to have second thoughts over his plans for a Valentine's Day wedding - as he realises the date has special significance for Nancy.
"When Darren asks Margaret why she's come over, she says she wants to put flowers on Becca's grave on the anniversary of her death - February 14," he said. "He also finds out that Jake tried to rape Nancy on that date."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first look screening at 7pm on E4.

But just in case you were wondering.
There was plenty of action in Deena's place. Phoebe realised something was wrong and all the doors and windows were locked so there was no means of escape. By the time she convinced George it was too late, the guy that attempted the mugging the other turned up.
Panic broke out as Phoebe and George tried they best to get out of the house.
Phoebe was in the cellar trying to break a window, while this guy was chasing her. George tried jumping on the guy and eventually George breaks free and hides in someone's garden.
It was really gripping.

Jessica Fox has revealed her 'Hollyoaks' alter ego Nancy Hayton will suspect fiance Darren Osbourne of cheating on her, not realising he is secretly planning their wedding.
Hollyoaks' Nancy Hayton becomes convinced her fiance is cheating on her.
The aspiring journalist is worried about Darren Osbourne's suspicious behaviour - not realising he is secretly planning their wedding - and thinks he is sleeping with former girlfriend Cindy Longford (Stephanie Waring) behind her back.
Jessica Fox, who plays Nancy, said: "Nancy has never seen Cindy as a threat but now Darren keeps sneaking around she's getting paranoid he's cheating on her - especially when she catches them in a compromising position.
"Darren of course has plenty of excuses... it's just whether or not Nancy believes them."
Nancy's doubts over Darren - played by Ashley Taylor Dawson - increase when her mother Margaret makes a surprise visit and interferes in their romance.
Jessica added to Inside Soap magazine: "She starts interfering... She doesn't think Darren is good enough for nancy and keeps going on about his gambling and the fact he's bene in prison.
"Then she suggests Darren isn't committed to the relationship because he hasn't married her yet.
"That starts Nancy thinking and her imagination goes into overdrive. She felt confident in her relationship but her mum's making her start to doubt he's the one."

It just seemed all a bit too smooth. Callum the hero comes to the rescue, George is satisfied she's ok by a bracelet left on a doorstep, and George moves in with Callum. I can't stand Neil either, infact all the teens are a pretty horrible bunch, if ES is gonna shove them in our face she should at least give them relatable personalities

Hollyoaks' Nancy Hayton is left reeling next week as her mother Margaret returns from Canada for a surprise visit.
Keen to mend bridges with her daughter, Margaret (Darryl Fishwick) suggests that Nancy should leave the village behind and join her abroad - promising a bright future working for a big newspaper.
However, Margaret's gestures of goodwill don't extend to Nancy's fiancé Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) and she quickly embarks on a nasty scheme to split the couple up. With an oblivious Darren busy plotting his secret wedding to Nancy, is he in danger of losing her altogether due to Margaret's interference?
Here, Jessica Fox - who plays Nancy - chats to Digital Spy about what's to come.
For the benefit of newer viewers, can you remind us of Nancy's relationship with her mother?
"Well, Nancy is the younger daughter and her older sister Becca was always the apple of Margaret's eye - while Nancy never quite lived up to any of Margaret's expectations. Nancy was a bit like the black sheep of the family, so her relationship with her mum is quite strained and difficult.
"The last time we saw Margaret, she arrived all of a sudden and walked in on Nancy in bed with Jake - who was obviously Becca's ex-husband. Margaret thought that was an absolute disgrace and told Nancy that she never wanted to see her again. After that, Margaret went off to Canada. Nancy and Charlie have been out there to see her since, but I don't think it's something Nancy particularly looks forward to!"
What brings Margaret back to the village?
"Margaret arrives back in the village with an agenda - but Nancy doesn't know what that is. Nancy just thinks that Margaret has come back to see her, but it takes her completely off-guard."
What happens next?
"Because of the difficult mother-daughter relationship they've had, Margaret wants Nancy to leave Hollyoaks and move to Canada. That way, she thinks she can mend everything, get Nancy working for an amazing newspaper, and Charlie will have a better upbringing.
"But, of course, Darren is in the picture too. Because Darren is a bit of a loveable fool, Margaret turns her nose up at him and thinks that he's not good enough for Nancy. So she starts trying to split them up."
How does she go about it?
"What Margaret does is quite vindictive, actually! You'll see her try to make Nancy doubt her relationship with Darren. It's underhand and cruel, because she plays on Nancy's insecurities and self-doubt. Margaret starts making Nancy feel very insecure in the relationship, and she also starts to feel quite unsure about her future in Hollyoaks."
Cindy is involved in the situation too…
"Yes, Margaret is secretly trying to push Cindy and Darren together. She's constantly stirring and it's evil! She's stirring that relationship up, and there's some scenes where Nancy and Cindy have to compete over who knows Darren better. Cindy comes out on top, so Margaret's attitude is very much, 'There you go - maybe Cindy and Darren should be together'."
Nancy also sees Darren and Cindy in a compromising embrace, doesn't she?
"She does indeed, and that just fuels the suspicions that Nancy already has. Darren isn't cheating on her, but he has been behaving a bit strangely recently as he's been planning the secret wedding. So Nancy has struggled to pin him down and get hold of him.
"When Nancy sees Darren and Cindy together, it just confirms everything that she thought. To Nancy, it seems that everything her mum is saying is true - that Darren doesn't love her and he has been having an affair."
Does Nancy confront Darren and Cindy?
"Well, I would have expected Nancy to go in there like a bull in a china shop - kicking, screaming, throwing things and ready to rip Cindy's hair off!
"But I think what's really interesting is that, unusually for Nancy, she can't bring herself to do it. She almost goes into shutdown mode, and you see that this relationship has meant more to Nancy than any other. She's deeply, deeply hurt.
"Nancy then starts sneaking around and asking people in the village if they know what's going on. But they think that she's talking about the secret wedding, and their reactions and shifty looks fuel her suspicions even further…"
Can Nancy and Darren get through this?
"I hope so! Myself and Ash have had an awful lot of fun working together, so I'd love to see a 'happily ever after'. Well, as much as it can be happy in soapland!"
Did you ever expect the Nancy and Darren pairing to prove so popular?
"Not at all! I think when we first read that they were putting our characters together, we were surprised but we thought, 'Okay - we'll see how that goes'. It was only ever intended to be quite a short-term thing.
"But then it just seemed to work really well, and they both bring out a really good side in each other's characters. For example, Darren makes Nancy a bit more fun and not quite so uptight, while Nancy brings out a more mature and caring side in Darren. I think that's really fun to see."
If Nancy found out about the secret wedding, would she appreciate the gesture or would she be horrified?
"I think she'd be horrified if I'm perfectly honest, because she is a control freak. Nancy has very definite ideas of what she wants and what she doesn't, and I think for her, half the fun would probably have been in planning the wedding! I don't know if it's Darren's wisest move, but I think Nancy would also see that he has good intentions."
What is Nancy's idea of a dream wedding?
"I think for Nancy, it would be something simple but also quite elegant and a bit vintage, as she likes her vintage style. I think she'd love the complete opposite of Mercedes and Riley's wedding!"
Nancy's fans on our forum are keen to see more of her on the show. Is there a big year ahead storyline-wise?
"It's always hard to judge 100%, but at the moment I've got some really exciting storylines that we're working on. You're going to see a lot more of Nancy this year."
Will we see more of Nancy's friendship with Mitzeee?
"I hope so, because it's such fun! I think the whole girl group worked really well when we did the Hangover episode, and I know we're all really keen to see more of that. But within that group, Nancy and Mitzeee are definitely best friends."
Would you like to see her make friends with any of the newer characters?
"I'd like Nancy and Barney to be friends! I think they'd be really funny together. They're both a bit posh and stiff, but when they've had a few drinks, they get really wild - so I think that could be quite a fun friendship."
How's life at Hollyoaks in general at the moment?
"I think there's a tremendous amount of excitement in the building at the moment. It's a really good sign when all of the actors are running upstairs to check their drawers and see if any new scripts have come out. We can't wait to see what's going to happen next, so there's a great atmosphere at the moment and we're all very excited."

Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has said that he will be thrilled if his character Darren Osborne beats the odds and secures a happy future with fiancée Nancy Hayton.
Darren has spent the past few weeks planning a secret wedding in a bid to impress Nancy (Jessica Fox), but there are huge obstacles ahead in the coming days as Nancy's mother Margaret (Darryl Fishwick) starts scheming to split them up.
With Darren hoping to tie the knot on Valentine's Day, viewers will be left to wonder whether they stand any chance of making it down the aisle.
Dawson told All About Soap: "Darren's incredibly excited about it, especially after all the hard work and planning that he's been doing in secret for weeks and weeks.
"As far as he's concerned, it's going to be the most perfect day possible and he just can't wait to see the look on Nancy's face when she realises what he's been up to. But things don't go as he planned."
Asked whether he wants the wedding to go ahead, the actor replied: "Yes, after all this it would be lovely to see them get married, but you never know with soaps. I think they can be happy together. They say that opposites attract, and while Darren is a male chauvinist pig, Nancy is a feminist!
"Somehow, they're the perfect match and are incredibly sweet together. Darren brings out Nancy's fun side and she gives his life a bit of order. I think they're destined to be the Jack and Vera of Hollyoaks!"
Hollyoaks airs Darren and Nancy's wedding drama on Tuesday, February 14 and Wednesday, February 15 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe has admitted that she is glad to see Mercedes McQueen sticking to her wild ways following the tumultuous events of 2011.
Mercedes was jilted by fiancé Riley Costello (Rob Norbury) last year after she confessed to her affair with his dad Carl (Paul Opacic). She was then held captive by serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle).
Since letting Riley leave the village with their baby son Bobby, Mercedes has faced temptation after Doctor Browning offered her money to sleep with him.
Metcalfe told OK Extra of the new storyline: "It was refreshing and brilliant to go back to how Mercedes was when I first joined the show. It was good to put the Silas kidnap storyline and everything else that's happened behind her, but there are still moments where she flicks back to being quite depressed."
"The sky's the limit for her," she continued. "Whatever she does that's bad, she manages to justify in her head. She doesn't have much self-worth and she knows what she's like."
The 28-year-old added that she is pleased Mercedes did not secure a stable future with Riley and their young son.
Metcalfe said: "She's tried but it's just not her. She's at her best when she's free and single, so I wish she would be happy just doing that. It would have been nice if she'd settled down with Riley, but being nice is really boring! I like her the way she is."
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first look screening at 7pm on E4.

Over on DS there was a thread about what you would do if you were in charge of Hollyoaks, and this was my idea. Hope ya don't mind the long posts :P
I would start off my reign by having a fire. I know it's a bit cliché but it's an effective way of having a clearout. It would happen during a Fashion Show in the SU Bar which the teens organised to raise money for charity, after we revisited Ricky's dads illness storyline.
The fire would kill of Tom Cunningham and Jack Osborne, who bittersweetly died trying to save Tom from the blaze. As a result Frankie, Ruby and Esther leave the show to stay with Debbie. Diane O'Connor, who took charge of the Fashion Show organising, would also be a victim of the fire, leading to both Finn and Sinead going to live with their father in wherever.
Ricky would be a tragic victim of the fire too, and the events of his death would impact badly on the teens, who feel guilty for organising the Fashion Show.
I would also use this time to try and get the audience to warm to Maddie, as during the organisation of the fashion show, she had gotten close to Ricky's father, helping out around the house, and with the show, and they had struck up a touching friendship, showing another side to Maddie. This continues in the aftermath of Ricky's death, as she insists on helping him with the arrangements of Ricky's funeral. The storyline would end with a touching memorial episode saying goodbye to the characters lost in the fire.
Following the memorial episode, Ricky's dad would then leave the show, leaving Maddy a changed person, who would then leave college and get a job as a caring assistant [off screen mainly]. This would hopefully help shake off the '40 year old teenager' that has been given to her and would allow her to be more grown up.
After his fathers death, Darren decides to change his life for the better, and begins a custody battle of the twins. This would cause friction between he and Rhys too as Rhys is obviously on his mothers side. In the end up Suzanne would hand the twins over, and along with Nancy and Charlie, they become owners of the Dog.
I would move the Savages into the O'Connor household, and put Dirk with Myra together. Living under the roof would be Dirk and Myra, Liberty, Dennis and Dodger, and I would spend the year integrating them as a proper family unit. I would also give Liberty a job in College Coffee, to integrate with the rest of the cast.
I would also revisit Amy and Dodger, and perhaps put them into a serious relationship, as they both have incredible chemistry. I wouldn't move them in together though, but build on their relationship as the year progresses.
A main event of the reign would be finding out that Dodger has testicular cancer, This would result in an emotional, long running and hard hitting storyline involving Dodger, Amy, Liberty (minimal crying scenes however), Dirk, Myra, Dennis and Will too, which has a positive ending.
Another storyline would centre around the arrival of Myra's brother Richard, and his 20 year old son Chris, who arrives to inform Myra of the death of their other sibling. As soon as he appears there are frosty relations between him and Mercedes, and it isn't long before viewers find out that something sinister happened when Mercedes was a child. This storyline would delve into Mercedes background, and in a series of late night episodes, would allow the viewer to perhaps, understand why Mercedes is the way that she is.
In a special two hander episode between Mecerdes and Myra, the sordid details of the abuse will become clear, leading Myra to confronting her brother and reporting him to the police. He is sent to prison and his son is sent back to his mother.
After this, we would begin to see a different, nicer side to Mercedes, who will be seen to make regular visits to a psychologist. While there, she would meet a handsome stranger called Connor, with whom she falls in love with. The story would be very UN-Mercy, and would see the pair becoming close friends, before eventually becoming a couple. They will move into Nancy and Darrens flat and be happy happy happy..
The downfall of Theresa McQueen would finally be seen, after a drunken conversation with cousin Michaela would see her reveal everything about the murder. Shocked at the revelation, and unaware that the rest of the family know, Michaela goes to the police, thinking she is doing right by her family, and Theresa is arrested, and sent down for murder. When Jacqui tries to defend her, saying that she knew, Theresa, in a sense of knowing, assures the police that she acted alone, and is ready to face her punishment. She is sentenced to 25 years in prison.
This leads to the outcasting of Michaela from the McQueen family, and instead moves in with Amy and Ste, leading to some fun and touching moments between the three.
Another member of the McQueens bidding farewell would be Carmel, who decides that the only way for her to be free from the Calvin trama is to move on. She takes Kathleen Angel to Devon.
For the rest of the McQueen family, life would be pretty quiet. Jacqui would remain with Rhys, after the hassle of the rape trial and such, would focus on happier times for the couple.
I would get Tony and Cindy back together, they both run College Coffee and appear pretty happy together, whilst Cindy still maintains her bitchy way, she becomes friends with Lynsey, Cheryl and co.
There would also be a storyline involving Ash and Callum's mum, who passes away suddenly. This would see Ash become parental guardian of Callum, and the struggles of running a household and being at uni. George would eventually come to live with them too.
Jono, Tilly , Neil and Bart would all move away to a uni far far away.
Declan would be introduced to the show as a permenant character, and would be the basis of a new chapter of Brendan Brady. I would see Brendan become a bit more normal and stable, without losing his charm, and basically put him on the backburner. I would have him apologise to Ste for the hurt he has caused him, and have the pair call a truce, and end it at that.
Cheryl would become more prominent in the club, and overhauling staffing, with a team of Leanne, Texas and Rob behind the bar, with a bit of lighthearted fun, eventually turning into a relationship for Texas and Rob, after Annalise becomes official with Scott.
I would also see the whole Silas thing haunt Lynsey. I know the show has to move on but I'd like some continuity with the storyline, and have her relying heavily on Doug throughout. It would end in time though with her visitng Silas in prison for a bit of a confrontation.
And lastly Mitzeee would be involved in the shows biggest storyline of the reign, as she becomes involved in a serious plot. Whilst on a casting for a major brand advertisement, Mitzeee meets Maegan, who seems very shy and reserved and a bit 'off'. Thinking it's just nerves, Mitzeee leaves the girl after the audition. She runs into her again when she sees her trying to steal booze from Chez Chez. She threatens Maegen with the police, unless she tells her what is going on. Maegen tries to brush her off, telling her gingerly that it was her boyfriend who wanted the booze and that she's sorry. Mitzeee agrees to let it go and she lets the girl go.
Maegen then is next seen in the village with Michaela, who meets her on a drunken night out and brings her back to Amy and Ste's house to spend the night. A drunken Michaela leaves Maegan in the living room when she overhears her phone go. Listening into the conversation, she hears Maegan arguing with a man on the phone saying that 'she wont do it' and that he 'cant make her'. Confronting her, Maegen admits that her boyfriend is trying to get her to sleep with men for money, against her will.
When she sees them in the street, Mitzeee again confronts Maegen, untill the truth comes out from Michaela. Taking her under her wing, and lets her live in the spare room of her flat until she sorts herself out.
We soon see however, that Maegen is more than willing to sleep with men for money, as she tries to sleep with Brendan for cash, obviously not knowing he is gay. He refuses and tells Mitzeee, who confronts Maegen. Maegen insists that Brendan is lying, but goes on the run and back to her boyfriend, who is revealed to be Chris, the son of Myra's brother Richard.
It is revealed that Chris' dad has since killed himself and has left all his money to Chris. Intent on making Myra's life hell, as he is sure of his fathers innocence, Chris and Maegen move into the village, and quickly establish themselves as they open a new rival nightclub in Chester, called Dirty Martini. The set becomes a main feature of Hollyoaks, despite not being in the village.
SO THAT'S THAT. I know not everyone will love it, but I tried to deveop the characters a bit, and bring it back to the families, as well as ensure that the McQueens remained central, as well as setting up a new villain and new dynamics which meant Brendan wasn't necessarily top dog. Hope you like!

Hollyoaks' Cindy Longford is back at the centre of drama in the village over the coming days as her love triangle with Darren Osborne and Nancy Hayton intensifies.
Cindy has recently agreed to help Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) as he plans his secret Valentine's Day wedding to Nancy (Jessica Fox). However, as Cindy is still harbouring feelings for her ex, matters become complicated when she can keep them to herself for no longer!
Digital Spy recently caught up with Stephanie Waring, who plays Cindy, to hear all about the storyline.
How did you feel about being part of Hollyoaks' big Valentine's Day story?
"I was really excited. I'd had a bit of time off, and it's always a bit worrying when that happens and they're establishing new characters, because you don't want to get lost along the way. So then when our producer Emma Smithwick told me about this storyline, I was really pleased and couldn't wait to get stuck in. Working with Ashley Taylor Dawson again was really good."
We've seen that Cindy really wants Darren back. Did her feelings for him never go away, or have they been reawakened?
"I think they've been reawakened. I don't think they ever fully went away, but obviously Cindy has just lost all of her money and she's on her own, so she's feeling a little bit lost. So when Darren asked her to help with the wedding planning and said that she was the only person he trusted to do it, she felt needed and wanted.
"I don't think Cindy sees this as a way to split up Nancy and Darren or sabotage the wedding, but there's just a little part of her that thinks, 'Surely he's going to choose me?'"
How do things develop over the next few days?
"I think Cindy is very serious about Darren. There's an episode coming up where Darren takes her out shopping for the wedding, and she's trying on different wedding dresses for Nancy. She looks into the mirror, sees herself in this dress and she just thinks that it should be her. Then Darren comes into the dressing room and she's stuck in the wedding dress, so he's trying to help her out of it.
"Cindy reads the signals wrong, as he's been so lovely to her and they're having a bit of a laugh, so she kisses him. It's the worst possible thing she could have done, because she thinks it means something but Darren thinks otherwise."
What happens next?
"Later, Cindy and Darren talk about the kiss and it's so emotional. Filming the scenes, we were genuinely both heartbroken. Because of the history that Cindy and Darren have had together, for me it was stirring up all of these memories and scenes that we've done.
"But now it's going to be no more, because he's in love with somebody else! Darren says that Cindy is going to have to let him go, and she's absolutely devastated by it."
What do you make of the rivalry between Cindy and Nancy?
"I think they've got a bit of a love-hate relationship! On the one hand, Cindy doesn't really like Nancy. But when she realises how much Darren likes Nancy, she starts to warm to her. Cindy says that if Nancy is who Darren wants, then she'll just have to accept it.
"So Cindy tells Nancy that she should marry him. I think if Cindy didn't like Nancy, she would be saying, 'No, don't marry him - I've kissed him', and causing trouble. She could do something really disgusting to try and split them up, but she doesn't. But you'll have to wait and see what Nancy does and whether the wedding does go ahead…"
Whatever happens, will it be the end of Cindy and Nancy's bickering?
"Well, we even filmed a scene today where we had a bit of bitchy banter! Nancy doesn't take Cindy seriously, and vice versa. If they did, it'd be handbags at dawn and they'd be constantly scrapping. But as it is, they just have a few bitchy comments. It's like we saw recently - Nancy welcomed Cindy into the book club, but in the next episode, they were arguing again!"
How did you feel about Cindy losing all of her fortune?
"I was really pleased. For so many years, Cindy has been trying to get the guy with money, so all of the plotting and scheming that came with that was kind of Cindy's 'thing'. But then they decided that Cindy was going to bag a millionaire, which was my way out of the show for a while because I was pregnant.
"When Cindy came back, I think the character was seen as a bit of a joke. I think now everything has been taken from her again, we're seeing a more real side of Cindy. I think we're hopefully going to see more of why people fell in love with her in the first place, rather than having her as a comical rich bitch who's lording it over everybody.
"There's not really many stories you can tell once a character has what they want - where do you go from there? You have to take it all away again!"
How is Cindy coping with losing the money?
"Cindy is devastated, but in public, I think she puts on a really big front. I think Cindy probably does believe that she's going to get back on top again, and I think that's a really great character trait to have - instead of having her sitting there wallowing!"
Did you enjoy the recent scenes which saw all of the female characters get together?
"Yeah, I really liked that female camaraderie - just getting them together was quite a strong story to do, and I think we're going to be exploring that more soon."
Where would you like Cindy to go next?
"I'd like to see Cindy handle something a little bit more serious. The most serious storyline she's had in the past was when Holly went missing. I'd love it if there could be an issue for Cindy to be faced with, but it's down to the writers!"
What do you make of the recent changes at Hollyoaks and the new arrivals?
"As I've had some time off, everyone has bonded in that time, so I'm still getting to know everybody. But I've got some scenes with the new students, so I am getting to know everyone now. Everyone welcomes everybody into the show, and we all become a family. That happens really quickly, because we're all vying for the same thing - to make a good programme."
What's ahead for Cindy in the immediate future?
"Once all of the Cindy and Darren stuff has come to a head, Cindy will be setting her sights on someone else - and it may be someone from her past!"

I saw that Billy, just read DS but did not know that was you;). Some of us would make good producers as we would have lots of interesting ideas like yours are.
I did disagree with a few:p.

Glad that we are seeing Cindy back at the centre of the drama, she is a popular character who is underused at times and Stephanie Waring is a good actress too:).
Emma Smithwick should see that the older cast is who the audience want to see more of...

Yes, there lies a struggle... Because I love Cindy & Darren together, probably just a tad more than I like him with Nancy.
I'm just happy that she's getting another partner on the show because she works so well with a bloke by her side.

Hollyoaks star Jessica Fox has revealed that her character Nancy Hayton would love to start a family with fiancé Darren Osborne.
The actress, who is currently taking centre stage in the soap's Valentine's storyline, told PA that Nancy believes she has chosen a partner for life.
Fox commented: "Getting married is important to Nancy. For all her wanting to be alternative and different, she really just wants to be loved.
"And it's all going terribly well at the moment. She's moved into the Osbornes' where that's going really well, and she's got this big family that care about her, having had no-one for so long. And she loves Darren to pieces and she really wants to get married, have babies and be happy. I think that's what she really wants."
She added: "I don't know if she wants to be a mother just yet, but she may not have a choice!"
Nancy's current storyline comes to a head in the coming days as she prepares to leave the village for a new life in Canada - devastated as she thinks that Darren has cheated on her.
However, when Nancy finds out that Darren has actually been planning a secret wedding, she must decide whether to go through with the ceremony or not.
Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first look screening at 7pm on E4.

I read that Ash finds out the truth about George being homeless and that Callum knew.
George apparently tries to find where Phoebe is again and they seem to be building up the Kane family as Ash and Callum's mom appears again.
