- Ste is equally mad when Noah thinks Ste's gay.

- Amy becomes Pete's teaching assistant, and takes a shine to him, but freaks out when she sees him with Brendan.
- A jealous Brendan gets Noah sacked from the spa. Ste find sout and gives Brendan an ultimatum.
- Brendan's had his last chance with Ste after he punches him again.
- Amy is seething when she finds out about Brendan's violence and Pete threatens Brendan to stay away from Ste.
- Pete takes Amy out for a drink but sparks fly when Amy asks about his history with Brendan.
- Warren discovers Brendan's awkwardness around Pete, and questions was it Brendan put him in a wheelchair. It's clear from Brendan's reaction he's hit a nerve, so Warren sets out to discover his dark secret. The net is closing in on Brendan.
- Pete vows to reveal the real Brendan to the village.
- Brendan is furious at becoming the subject of village gossip, and warns Ste to keep the women in his life from spreading further rumours, but Rae refuses to give in to the Irishman's threats and warns to go to Warren.
- Mitzeee is convinced Pete is gay, and tries to find out more, very indiscreetly.
- Brendan gets angry when Ste and Pete are messing around. He explodes and decides something needs to be done.
- Doug encourages Rae to help him shift some drugs. In need of the money, she accepts. But, the police come knocking - this has Brendan written all over it.
- Rae is released when the police discover she's holding icing sugar!
- It appears Warren got there first and switched the drugs, and Brendan is furious at being double-crossed. Rae is riled at Brendan's nastiness, and heads out to see Warren.

Theres a couple of things i'm not really pleased about but overall i'm pleased with it:).

It makes sense Mercedes going to make peace since she was banned from the off screen funeral, she needs to move on with her life but as long as she'll never forget Malachy despite all the things she did then thats the important thing;).

Well im not, just my view. I dont like most the characters/storylines so havent bother watching.

Fair enough:), the show is much better than it ever was under Lucy Allan and it would have been axed by now if she was still in charge:bawling:.

Well as long as she has the memories, she has to move on and i'm bored of the whole slut thing now because when she wasn't that it's a completley better character:).

I really liked Charlotte, best decision LA did was introducing Cheryl and Lynsey, Malachy etc and some of her her worst ones were messing up the Ste/Daniel storyline, Hollyoaks having to change the Loretta storyline, her messing up Clare's return plus axing Ash Roy.

Everyone makes bad descions as producer. PM has made some shocking ones as well.

Lucy Allens era did had problems, it had great storylines, however they never managed to go anywhere.

Loreetta s/l was changed because of the jamie B's mother complaining, which is a great shame as it sounded really intresting and would of been great.

LA created some great charcters, however half of he characters never had any s/l. I mean name one s/l Dave, Charlote, India had durning her reign?

With clare, yes that was a complete mess of s/l, also Ash was an okay character, but their is always so much evil one charcter can do, he went at the right time.

PM has issues also, its just Im not bothered by any of the storylines, and if I am, they get ruined.

People can say he created great charcaters like Bredan and Jasmine/jason, I think their both over rated in my view, but thats my view.

Yeah PM has made some mistakes like the constant re-editing (which HO are entitled to do and it has worked on some occasions successfuly), it's been inconsistent and he's not used certain characters enough or certain characters have been used way too much etc;).

Overall I still say the show is slowly recovering and the ratings are starting to rise gradually again which is a good sign at the moment:).

Yeah they will deliberate on the verdict and then Hollyoaks will choose one out of two endings which they have filmed to air:p.

The thing with the rape storyline is that they're both telling the truth. It's more about perspective and not who's lying. The fact that the public's picking the ending is disappointing though.

Northern Irish actor and former Cast Offs star Peter Mitchell makes his debut in Hollyoaks next week, appearing as Hollyoaks High's new headteacher Pete Hamill. Confident and charming, Pete shares a mysterious history with bad boy Brendan Brady, who's left alarmed by his sudden appearance in the village. Pete is a wheelchair user and as tension builds between him and his old acquaintance, Warren begins to suspect that Brendan could be responsible for the newcomer's disability. Could this be what Brendan has to hide? And does Pete have a score to settle? DS recently caught up with Peter to hear more about his new role.

When did you first hear about the role of Pete?
"I first heard about the role in July or August time last year, when my agent phoned me and told me that Hollyoaks wanted to meet me. So I came over to Liverpool and I met with Paul Marquess, who was the producer at the time. There was no audition process as such, it was a meeting with Paul and the first word of conversation was, 'Peter, we think your character should be…' and then he explained it. So it soon became apparent that there was a job there for me and they wanted to create a character especially for me, which was beyond my wildest dreams."

Was that because Paul and the team were aware of your previous work in Cast Offs?
"Yeah, exactly - it was through Cast Offs, which was also a Channel 4 show. They'd seen me on that, so it was extremely flattering that they wanted to create this character for me. I still can't believe it."

How was the character of Pete first described to you?
"When we first spoke about him, they said that he was very similar to myself. Like me, Pete is in a wheelchair but he's comfortable, he's over his accident and he gets on with it. It's not going to be a sad story - often when you see disabled people on TV, the audience is expected to feel sorry for them because of that disability. But with Pete, he gets on with it and he's an independent man. That was very reassuring and I was very, very excited about the role."

What more have you learned about Pete since you started filming?
"I've been filming now for nearly two months - six or seven weeks - and he's a great character to play. To be honest, there's still a lot more that can come from him. He's the headmaster of Hollyoaks High and he's very authoritative inside the school. He takes no nonsense from the kids and he demands respect. Outside of school, he can be very charming - he's charming with everyone because he's a nice guy. But with a certain individual, things are very different…"

That brings us to his history with Brendan Brady…
"Yes, obviously there is history between Pete and Brendan. The interesting thing is that Brendan is always in control - of his past, of his friends and of his enemies. But Pete has a bit of a hold over him. It doesn't take long to find out why, either - the story comes out very quickly!"

We first see Pete in Ireland, don't we?
"Yeah - Mercedes, Cheryl and Lynsey are in Ireland visiting Mal's grave and they bump into Pete. In that first scene, straight away the audience will discover that there's history between Pete and Brendan. Once Pete leaves, Cheryl talks to Lynsey and it's obvious that Brendan's not going to be happy to see his old friend when he turns up in Hollyoaks!"

Is Pete surprised to learn that Brendan is in Hollyoaks?
"Oh, no - Pete knows. He's very aware of that fact - he knows that Cheryl, Lynsey and Brendan are all in Hollyoaks. Pete is coming over to the village for the headmaster job, but with Brendan being there, he's got that wee bit of extra incentive because he knows his old friend Brendan is there…"

There's been some speculation about whether Brendan is responsible for Pete being in a wheelchair - could that be the case?
"Well, everyone knows that Brendan Brady is a shady character with some dark, dark secrets. Obviously with Pete being in a wheelchair, people are going to assume that Brendan is responsible for that. All I can say is that there is a backstory there and it doesn't take long for the truth to come out."

What has Emmett Scanlan, who plays Brendan, been like to work with?
"Amazing - absolutely amazing. When I watch him go into Brendan mode, I have so much respect for him and he inspires me - he really, really does. We've had a lot of scenes together and off-camera we have a bit of craic. We're all in the same boat here and we all get on great. But then, as soon as 'action' is called, Emmett goes straight into Brendan mode!"

Had you watched Hollyoaks much before joining the show?
"I obviously knew of Hollyoaks because it is a huge show and it does have a huge fanbase. So I was aware of the show, I'd watched bits of it and I did know some of the characters. But since I got the job, I have watched it religiously - I wanted to get to know the characters more and especially the Irish characters because Pete has history with them. So since I've got the job, I probably haven't missed an episode."

Brendan's ongoing story has a really strong following - were you glad to get the chance to play a part in it?
"Yeah, to get the chance to be involved in a storyline with Brendan and to film scenes with Emmett was great, because Brendan Brady is a huge character on the show. So it's brilliant to come into the show as someone who has history with him and to have the chance to do a lot of scenes with him. And when Pete comes into Hollyoaks, it is a huge storyline so I'm pinching myself - I'm absolutely buzzing."

What else can you tell us about Pete?
"He's got the scenes with Brendan, Lynsey and Cheryl but he also mingles with a lot of other people because he's the school headmaster, so there is a lot keeping him in Hollyoaks. There's a lot that we can do with him once he's in the village…"

You've already built up quite a few Twitter followers who are excited about seeing Pete on screen...
"Yeah, it's crazy! I started filming just before Christmas and Craig Vye, who plays Ethan, told me to start up a Twitter account before coming on screen as I'd get a few followers, so I set one up and Craig tweeted about me. It's gone from there and already there seems to be a lot of people who are excited about Pete because of Brendan's character and his shady past. I'm excited myself - I know what happens and I can't wait to see it. There's so much that the writers can do with this and it's nice that the fans are looking forward to seeing Pete. Hopefully I can do the character justice."

As the Hollyoaks High headmaster, are you enjoying having scenes with the younger characters as well as the older ones?
"Yeah, although the younger characters aren't really that young, to be honest! I think Stephanie Davis, Jonny Clarke and Anna Shaffer are all 18 and 19, and I'm only 26! Me playing a headteacher is great - there's going to be a lot of my old teachers at home who'll be shocked to see it! Not many teachers back home would have thought that I'd be a headteacher, whether it's on Hollyoaks or real life! (laughs) So it's great fun as obviously there's not many headteachers around at 26. That's the thing with Hollyoaks - they're always breaking boundaries, trying new things and they're not scared of doing things that other shows wouldn't. I think Pete is slightly older than me, though - I think him and Brendan are around the same age."

What were your first days on set like?
"I had a few scenes before Christmas which was nice because it broke me in, and then I moved over full-time in January. But my first scenes were with Jamie Lomas and with Emmett and it was absolutely fantastic to get thrown in with the bad boys straight away. Then my first three weeks were just crazy - I was working 12-hour days, five days a week, and then I was getting back home to learn my lines and only getting five or six hours' sleep per night! It's calmed down a wee bit now, though."

Apparently Pete also has some scenes coming up with Amy Barnes?
"He does - Pete arrives in the village and he bumps into Amy and Ste. It turns out that Amy is trying to get a job at the school as a teaching temp, but she doesn't realise that Pete is the headteacher. So they have a wee bit of a conversation and Amy fills him in that she's a young mum and her education suffered a bit because of that. Then Pete lets her know that he's the headteacher and it'll be him deciding whether she gets the job, and Amy's face drops! But she ends up getting the job and Pete and Amy have some good scenes together after that."

Have you had a warm welcome from the cast?
"Definitely. I didn't know what to expect - I'd only done Cast Offs before, which was six weeks, and I also did one episode of Doctors, which was two days. So this is my first full-time acting job. Straight away, everyone was just so friendly. We do have a big cast here - there's about 70 of us, but we are just like one big family. The atmosphere is just unbelievable and it's an amazing place to work. Everyone is so nice, so helpful and I honestly can't praise my fellow cast members enough. I'm pinching myself - it's Hollyoaks, everyone's so nice and I'm living in Liverpool - it's perfect! Honestly, I just couldn't imagine myself working anywhere else now - it's a dream come true and it's even better than what I thought it was going to be."

Looks like Mandy is back soon:), Sarah Jayne Dunn has tweeted that she's got new scripts to go through and hopefully they manage to make Mandy a bit more likeable this time around as being bad is another side to her which is great to see, but it's also ruining a legendary Hollyoaks character:(.

Stendan is overrated by some but I actually like that storyline:blush:. IMO it's much better than the McDean storyline which I couldn't stand and was more overhyped even if it was one of HO best storylines!

Enjoyed the E4 episode tonight even if there was a few scenes which were supposed to happen cut out:rolleyes:.

Rediting and all that jazz, yesterday Ste and Noah were supposed to be in the hot tubs in the spa because it said that in the spoilers but they got rid of the scenes, plus today they got rid of a scene where Noah was supposed to get fired from the spa, and a scene where Brendan was supposed to hit Ste again.

Hollyoaks character Mercedes McQueen could be facing her third marriage following her engagement to Riley Costello.

However, actress Jennifer Metcalfe, who plays the fiery temptress, has teased that anything could happen in the run up to the nuptials - especially as Mercedes is continuing an affair with Riley's father Carl.

Holy Soap reports that the former Dancing On Ice contestant said: "It's definitely in the pipeline - a third wedding at her age, it's ridiculous! But at the same time it works for the character, so it could be..."

Commenting of her affair with father-in-law-to-be Carl, Metcalfe said that Mercedes does not have any intention of ending the relationship.

"She's managing so far - I don't know where she gets the energy from! But I honestly don't know how long it will go on for," the actress added.

Tongues have been set wagging with speculation about a new cast member joining the show. Well, the wait is over Hollyoaks fans. We are delighted to confirm that the beautiful Daisy Turner will be joining the show!

Not sure who that is (shame on you)? Well, Daisy is the younger sister of Lacey Turner, who played Stacey Slater in Eastenders! Every bit as talented and every inch as foxy too, we are more than just a little excited about our shiny new addition to the team.

As of yet, however, we are sadly unable to confirm the character’s name or any details of the storylines that she will be involved in, but we can tell you that she has already begun filming with us.

Sarah Jayne Dunn has said that Mandy is definetly sticking around for good when she is back on screen:), maybe they will revist that storyline? Gareth Phillips has a tough job in trying to sort out the inconsistency of the storylines plus making new changes.

How old is Riley Costello?
This one gets asked a lot on our forum because Riley's initial character descriptions billed him as 17, yet since he's appeared on screen fans have noticed that he seems older due to his friendships with characters like Ethan and relationship with Mercedes.

After asking those in the know, I can confirm that Riley is 19-years-old. He was originally supposed to be 17, but when Rob Norbury was cast in the role it was decided that he'd have to be slightly older. Show bosses thought that Rob would be perfect as Riley and, as he's been a successful new addition to the cast, it seems to have worked out well.

What happened to Evissa?
This is another one that gets mentioned a lot on the forum as the beauty salon disappeared after the fire and was replaced by Price Slice without being addressed directly.

There's no big revelation with this one: after the fire, the property was sold off screen to Price Slice. Spencer was the owner of the business so it would seem that it was his decision.

Carmel, who was an employee at Evissa, is now working in Tony's spa and also has her new nun duties to keep her busy!

Has the Silas storyline been dropped?
In interviews last year, then-producer Paul Marquess said that serial killer Silas would be a dangerous presence in the village throughout 2011. However, as Lynsey and Riley both get suspicious of Silas next week, there's been some speculation that Hollyoaks' new boss Gareth Philips could have decided to bring the plot's conclusion forward.

After asking Hollyoaks, however, I can confirm that the plan is still for the Silas plot to be a year-long storyline with more peaks and troughs in the coming months. So the villagers will have to stay on their guard!

Hollyoaks star Bronagh Waugh has confirmed that her character Cheryl Brady will soon discover the truth about her half-brother Brendan's sexuality.

Since his arrival in the village last August, Brendan (Emmett Scanlan) has managed to keep Cheryl convinced that he is straight - while secretly maintaining a complex and abusive relationship with barman Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).

However, in an online webchat with Heatworld this afternoon, Waugh explained that all will be revealed to Cheryl within the next few weeks.

Asked how Cheryl would react to Brendan's secret, Waugh replied: "I don't think she would be unhappy about him being gay. I think she would be absolutely devastated to find out that he's been lying to her for so long.

"Actually, in the coming weeks, all is going to be revealed and Cheryl is going to have a bit of a nightmare when her whole world as she knows it comes crashing down, so watch out."

The actress added that Cheryl's discoveries about Brendan leave her stunned and "seriously rock her world".

She added: "I don't think she's upset by the fact that he's gay, it's more the fact that he's been keeping it from her."

Hollyoaks bosses have confirmed the full details of the soap's new Savage clan, who will cause chaos in the village when they arrive on screen next month.

As reported earlier today, viewers will soon be introduced to Liberty Savage's (Abi Phillips) family for the first time since her debut on the soap late last year.

James Atherton (pictured) has taken on the role of geeky Will Savage, his first major TV role since studying at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).

Atherton commented: "It all happened really quickly and I'd started filming before I had time to think. Everyone's just been so friendly and made it really easy to settle in. Will is awkward, shy and a hopeless romantic that hopefully the viewers will fall in love with."

Meanwhile, following a stint in the West End musical Wicked, Danny Mac has also joined the cast as Liberty and Will's brother Mark 'Dodger' Savage. The Del Boy-style character quickly causes a stir in the village with his wily ways and soon has the local ladies eating from the palm of his hand.

Speaking of his casting, Mac explained: "I am over the moon, the last few weeks have been crazy and Dodger's kept me on my toes every second. It's exciting never knowing what he's going to get up to next, and believe me the limits are endless. I can't wait for people to meet him!

"The cast are such a close family and have been very welcoming to us lads. I am proud to be a Savage and live in anticipation every moment to see what the next move is for the family!"

Finally, actor David Kennedy is to appear as the siblings' father Dirk Savage, who shares many traits with Dodger and tries to charm show regular Myra McQueen following his arrival on screen. Kennedy has previously appeared in EastEnders and Holby City, as well as portraying Billy 'Two Hats' in ITV's William and Mary.

A Hollyoaks statement teased: "The new family will take the village by storm and are set to rub all the McQueens up the wrong way. The Savage family get evicted from their home when Dirk can't keep up with the payments. Liberty is furious to come home and find her house all boarded up but big brother Dodger has a new house for them to live in!

"While the McQueens are away on holiday, Dodger moves his family into the empty house and declares squatters' rights! How will the McQueens react to their new housemates?"

I've been disappointed by the Jason storyline, it had so much potential for more once the rest of the Costello's accepted the issue but it's all gone downhill since IMO.

I agree totally. It was an amazing story to begin written and acted so well, full of many different avenues they could have taken, now it feels like they've simply finished and moved on too quickly.

It was confirmed that Ashley Slanina Davies quit after Lucy Allen left, but was convinced to stay by Marquess after her popularity literally soared. It's weird, Amy has been hated up until 2010, and she's like one of the most popular characters now <3
