Is it true that Joel is going to be injured in Hollyoaks?
We've heard this rumour too. It's totally unconfirmed at the moment, but Andrew Still who plays Joel was spotted doing some on-location filming with Emmett Scanlan (Brendan) at the weekend. Onlookers reported on Twitter that Joel was covered in blood for the scenes. Could Joel's association with Brendan be about to land him in big trouble?

I did not watch the E4 episode but it seems that the George/Phoebe storyline has concluded, annoying that it could not last a bit longer.

The show is living on filler atm, although this latest bunch of students are good and the Producer has promised we will be seeing more of Esther soon:).

When Jacqui finds Phoebe begging with her stolen dog, all hell breaks loose. It's awkward between Annalise and Rob in Halls, and as they all head to the Spring Fling it's about to get a whole lot worse. Darren tries to tell Mitzeee that pregnant Nancy can't cope with The Dog refurbishment, while George announces he's leaving Hollyoaks for good.


C4 Tues 27

There's fallout in Halls as the students figure out who Annalise brought home last night. In the heat of the argument, Ash collapses and her condition looks very serious. Mitzeee suggests that Nancy and Darren should come and stay with them to avoid any awkwardness with Riley. And George tells Phoebe she can come home with him, but then Jacqui finds Phoebe abandoned.



C4 Weds 28

Jacqui takes Phoebe to work with her at The Dog - that way Phoebe can repay Jacqui. As meningitis-struck Ash fights for her life, Lacey is convinced she's to blame. Frightened his sister will die, Callum can't face seeing her. And Nancy collapses in pain - is the baby ok?


C4 Thurs 29

When Martha hits the bottle, Callum is forced to tell George the truth about her drink problem. Jacqui discovers her wedding ring is missing. But is Phoebe to blame?


C4 Fri 30th
The awkwardness continues between Mitzeee and Riley - will they own up to their feelings? Will keeps vigil at Ash's bedside praying that she'll wake up. When George's mum turns up to take him home, he is torn - can he leave Callum to cope with Martha's drink problem and Ash's illness alone?

E4 yesterday was mainly about Maddie trying to find out what happened to George:bored:, she is so self absorbed and ES definitely does not get the message that the character is not liked at all.

I have nothing against Scarlett, she is 26 in RL but Maddie should be a fresher instead of a teen because she looks way older than Sinbart etc.

Riley and Mitzeee kiss for real soon, they have always had chemistry but it will be a bit awkward because of their family connections..

I liked Cheryl and Brendan's scenes in the C4 episode, Bronagh and Emmett work so well together and I would like to learn more backstory about their characters, but Cheryl does need a big storyline of her own...

Scott, Rob and Barney need to be axed. They just add nothing to the show at all. Annalise has potential, Will was good before the Uni stuff and Ash is the best fresher by a mile but those three are just there.

This fresher student group has been the best for a while, they are starting to click.

Adding Will in the mix was random and he is a character who has had a personality transplant recently.

The show is still too inconsistent and certain storylines are ending too quickly, so we are just left with filler scenes.

The danger was dispatched too easily though, it had been a good storyline up until that point but they rushed through the ending and it lost it's effect. The aftermath could be interesting but the rushed nature of the escape has impacted it I think.

I agree, it seems that Will is the odd one out and strange decision to have him in with that group.

James and Jorgie tried hard to make people like their characters romance because they are dating in RL, however, we were not convinced and I am glad the writers finally split them up to put us out of our misery.

Good on you, some of them just watch the show because of Stendan and make half hearted attempts to be interested in the other storylines.

It happened with McDean, could not stand that storyline because I preferred the two characters in particular on their own and not together.

Hollyoaks star Carli Norris has admitted that her character Martha Kane will struggle to behave responsibly when her daughter Ash falls ill.

Ash (Holly Weston) is rushed to hospital after collapsing with meningitis next week, but it's her younger brother Callum (Laurie Duncan) who takes on most of the burden as Martha struggles to cope.

Martha has had an alcohol problem for some time, but this only becomes apparent to viewers next week when Callum finds her slumped on the couch next to empty bottles of wine.

Norris told TV Times: "Martha would die for her children, but she's like a child herself. Anything that requires her to step up and be a mother, she can't handle.

"Nobody realised that [Ash] was ill. As far as they were concerned, she was just walking around with the hump on, like she normally does."

The actress added that Martha is reluctant to stay at the hospital, wanting Callum to take charge of the situation.

"She keeps having to leave," Norris explained. "She manipulates Callum and wraps him around her little finger, like she always does. She says, 'I can't cope with this, you'll have to do it for me'.

"The doctors always prefer to speak to the parent about the illness. She'd rather it was Callum sorting it out."

EastEnders and Hollyoaks were the most successful shows in the 2012 All About Soap Awards, picking up three gongs each.

Walford favourite Jo Joyner was a big winner in the voting as she was named 'Best Actress', while her character Tanya Jessop and businessman Max Branning (Jake Wood) were backed as the 'Best Couple' in soapland.

Speaking of her 'Best Actress' triumph, Joyner commented: "I'm so pleased. It always means so much to have an award voted for by the readers, because they're the people who really count."

Discussing Max and Tanya's success, Jake Wood added: "We're over the moon. It's the first time we've won."

EastEnders' third award went to Michael French, as his recent return stint as David Wicks secured the 'Best Comeback' prize.

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks' three awards celebrated the darker side of life in the village, as Emmett Scanlan won the 'Best Actor' trophy for his role as bad boy Brendan Brady, serial killer Silas Blissett (Jeff Rawle) was named 'Best Villain', and the Halloween murder drama was recognised as the 'Best Soap Episode' of the past year.

Scanlan said: "Wow, of all the awards, 'Best Actor' is just such an honour. I want to say thank you to all the fans and everyone at Hollyoaks, because without them, there'd be no Brendan Brady!"

Jeff Rawle added: "This is very exciting, I don't think I've ever won anything before. It's just so great to see Silas's name on an award. And slightly frightening!"

Emmerdale bagged one award as the dark tale of Cain Dingle's attack triumphed as the 'Best Mystery', while Coronation Street also claimed a prize as Michelle Keegan (Tina McIntyre) won the 'Best Dressed Soap Star' title.

This year's All About Soap Awards were the most successful ever, with a record number of votes pouring in from thousands of fans who wanted to have their say.

Hollyoaks should bring in Brendan and Cheryl's parents, it will be interesting to see why the two characters have ended up where they are and explore the interaction with their parents.

Emmett and Bronagh work well together, although Bronagh in particular really does need a big storyline to shine as she is quite underrated IMO:).

Hollyoaks star Karen Hassan has admitted that there could be "complicated" times ahead for her character Lynsey Nolan as she starts flirting with Riley Costello.

Lynsey and Riley's (Rob Norbury) storyline kicks off next month as sparks begin to fly between the pair.

The plot may give Lynsey a chance to have some fun following her sinister ordeal with serial killer Silas Blissett last year.

Esther is the best teen for me, she is so likeable and I love her scenes with the Osborne clan. She is underused and I really like Jazmine Franks in the show:).

Hollyoaks band Daytona Lights are to make another appearance on the soap.

The real-life group, who were written into the Channel 4 show for a three-month stint last year, recently filmed scenes at the Blue Planet Aquarium in Cheshire alongside members of the Hollyoaks cast.

Reports suggest that the five-piece performed a set in front of the aquarium's giant underwater window for an episode which will air later this year.

Savage family actors Danny Mac (Dodger), Abi Phillips (Liberty) and Joe Tracini (Dennis) were among the regulars involved in the filming.

Blue Planet spokesperson Rebecca Wade told the Ellesmere Port Pioneer: "Obviously we're not allowed to give away any of the plotlines, but they did film a number of scenes at a variety of different locations throughout the aquarium and everyone seemed very pleased with the end results.

"It was great to be able to play host to such a well-loved soap opera which is filmed so locally to us.

"Hollyoaks have filmed here in the past, but this is the first time they have done such a major storyline with us and it's also a great showcase for the aquarium and its displays."

Hollyoaks fans saw Daytona Lights leave the village at the beginning of January, as they moved to London for their big break.

Hollyoaks star Rob Norbury has revealed that he thinks Mitzeee Minniver is the best romantic match for his character Riley Costello.

The pair's spark has recently been revisited as they shared a kiss last week, but Riley is also busy dealing with the dramas surrounding his troubled ex-fiancée Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe).

Additionally, Riley will soon start flirting with Lynsey Nolan (Karen Hassan), adding another love interest to his list.

Norbury told Soaplife: "Mitzeee's helping Riley with Bobby and they're very close. She's probably the ideal woman for Riley. She has that side to her that Mercedes has, but she knows where to draw the line. And she's very caring.

"[But] there's a lot of history there and I don't think Riley is ready to tell her how he feels. Also, with Mitzeee there comes drama with Mercedes and he wants to get away from all that."

Hollyoaks star Karen Hassan has admitted that she wants to see more of Lynsey Nolan's feisty side.

The actress said that she would like her character to show the qualities she displayed when she took on Silas Blissett in last year's serial killer storyline.

Hassan told Inside Soap: "I was looking over some old clips with our producer recently, and we enjoyed seeing Lynsey show real gumption during the Silas plot.

"So I've asked for more of that, and hopefully we're going to see Lynsey being a bit selfish and standing up for herself. She's going to start doing what's best for her, and not give a hoot about what anyone else thinks."

Next week's Hollyoaks episodes see the start of Lynsey's new romance storyline with Riley Costello (Rob Norbury), as the pair embark on a secret relationship.

However, Lynsey could be heading for trouble as Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Mitzeee Minniver (Rachel Shenton) are also still interested in the footballer.

Hassan said: "Lynsey's quite happy to keep things a secret between her and Riley. But Mitzeee finds out quite early on, and Lynsey's on the receiving end of a lot of jealousy.

"She doesn't want to go head-to-head with the other two girls, but she's not going to step aside either."

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4 with a first look screening at 7pm on E4.

Hollyoaks star Andrew Still has admitted that he would find it difficult to be friends with his bad boy character Joel Dexter.

Joel has been snapped up as a protégé by Brendan Brady (Emmett Scanlan) in recent weeks, but his short temper has led to him clashing with a number of the local residents.

Still told Inside Soap: "I could never be friends with Joel! But if I had to give him advice, it would be to chill out and stop trying to please everyone all the time.

"We're going to see Joel come into his own in the next few weeks, but he needs to calm down."

Joel faces an angry showdown with Callum Kane (Laurie Duncan) next week after upsetting the sixth former's younger sister Lacey.

He also finds himself in danger while carrying out a job for Brendan.

Still commented: "Joel longs to impress Brendan, so he thinks that if he does jobs for him, he'll become one of the big boys. But he soon discovers that things aren't as they initially seem, and a gang of lads sets upon him while he's out, beating him to the ground."

Hollyoaks star Emmett Scanlan has warned that Joel Dexter should be wary of his character Brendan Brady's nasty side.

Brendan has recently been trying to turn Joel (Andrew Still) into a mini version of himself after they became unlikely business partners at Chez Chez.

Scanlan, revealing his take on the storyline, told Soaplife: "Joel looks up to Brendan, like a lot of people do. He wants to impress him, work alongside him and be like him.

"Brendan wants Joel as his apprentice. It's a kind of warped father-son relationship. Joel is somebody that Brendan can test and manipulate for his own reasons."

Next week's Hollyoaks episodes see Joel mess up a job he is carrying out for Brendan as he is attacked by some heavies. Although Joel tries to keep this from the bad boy, it doesn't take long before Brendan realises what happened.

Scanlan added: "He might punish Joel now, or keep back the information that he knows and use it. It's game after game with Brendan. He's bored if he hasn't got somebody to play cat and mouse with."

Asked whether Brendan would ever harm Joel, he replied: "Of course he would! Nobody is safe from Brendan. Not even his loved ones."

Hollyoaks star Emmett Scanlan has warned that Joel Dexter should be wary of his character Brendan Brady's nasty side.

Brendan has recently been trying to turn Joel (Andrew Still) into a mini version of himself after they became unlikely business partners at Chez Chez.

Scanlan, revealing his take on the storyline, told Soaplife: "Joel looks up to Brendan, like a lot of people do. He wants to impress him, work alongside him and be like him.

"Brendan wants Joel as his apprentice. It's a kind of warped father-son relationship. Joel is somebody that Brendan can test and manipulate for his own reasons."

Next week's Hollyoaks episodes see Joel mess up a job he is carrying out for Brendan as he is attacked by some heavies. Although Joel tries to keep this from the bad boy, it doesn't take long before Brendan realises what happened.

Scanlan added: "He might punish Joel now, or keep back the information that he knows and use it. It's game after game with Brendan. He's bored if he hasn't got somebody to play cat and mouse with."

Asked whether Brendan would ever harm Joel, he replied: "Of course he would! Nobody is safe from Brendan. Not even his loved ones."

Hollyoaks star Calvin Demba has hinted that his character Scott Sabeka will soon step up his pursuit of fellow student Annalise Appleton.

Scott and Annalise (Tamaryn Payne) have harboured feelings for each other for some time, but have so far shown no signs of becoming a proper couple.

However, Demba told Digital Spy that next week's Hollyoaks episodes - which explore a turbulent time for Scott at home in London - could prove to be a turning point for the story.

Demba commented: "What happens to Scott when he's back in London does give him a different attitude towards life. It feels like he needs to man up and start facing his problems head-on.

"He really needs to seize the day, so when he does come back to Chester, he's meaning business. He's going to try and sort this out once and for all."

Scott is good friends with Annalise's ex-boyfriend Rob Edwards (David Atkins), which could complicate the situation.

Demba added: "I think Rob is always a factor that looms in Scott's head, and it must be the same for Annalise. But this has gone on for quite a while now. There's been lots of looks between Scott and Annalise, and they've flirted quite outrageously at certain points! I think it's going to have to come to a head.

"Scott knows that Rob's not going to be too happy about it, but sometimes you have to ruffle a few feathers! Scott sees that something is out there for him, and if he's got to upset Rob a little bit, then that's just how it's got to be."

Hollyoaks actress Scarlett Bowman has voiced her approval of her character's latest relationship.

Bowman plays sixth-former Maddie Morrison in the Channel 4 soap, who has been dating Callum Kane (Laurie Duncan) for three months.

She explained that Callum is "really good" for Maddie as he keeps her grounded and calms her busy lifestyle down.

"Callum's really good for Maddie. He's quite an earthy character, and he really grounds her," she told MSN UK. "He's great for her and she can learn a lot from him. He sort of reins her in a bit.

"It's a big step because Maddie is such a head case. She gives off this persona of being the girl-about-town and pretty capable of everything, but she's really into Callum in a big way. She's really putting her heart on her sleeve."

The couple are set to end their three-month sex ban next week, and Bowman added that filming the romantic scenes were "easy" due to their real life friendship.

"I think it's easier to film scenes like that with people you know, and obviously I've been working with Laurie for a while now. You're just having a laugh and getting on with it," she said.

"But it's a funny feeling, getting up, coming into work and then putting your pyjamas on and jumping into bed!"

Scarlett Bowman recently told Digital Spy that she didn't think Callum and Maddie were a good couple as they were "too different".

I agree, glad that Tilly is getting some screentime of her own because recently she has been a supporting character for the other teens, or featuring in their storylines.

This programme frustrates me so much. It's lost the ability to blend smoothly when switching focus between characters and stories. Instead, we get characters dropped and vanishing before reappearing weeks later and you've forgotten what their storyline was about.

I got back into it and was enjoying the Darren, Nancy and Osbourne related stuff, got back into Mercedes/Riley/Mitzeee's stories but then they shift to a million other characters who bore me to tears. It's so hit and miss. They seriously need to trim the cast down.
