It's not really that implausible. If s4/5 pushed for a heavy "Jinkx and Sharon are being bullied by them" angle then s8 isn't really doing the same so of course she's not going to look as bad by comparison - both were far better competitors than Derrick on the show though.

Roxxxy was great at snatch game, won most of the makeover challenges (but robbed Lineysha in week 1 imo), was great in the kids TV challenge, was great at the charity single video... she only bombed at the roast and the ballet challenges.
Phi Phi... well it's hard for me to say what she was great at :laugh: but she won dragazines, did well with hope floats, the rupocalypse, the wrestling challenge and the DILF makeover. Bombed snatch game and the frenemies challenges.

Derrick...it's easy to go over what she bombed at but did she have any highlights? Yes, one: the smear campaign challenge. I mean I could be petty and say Bob gave her the ideas but she did well at it so fair enough. But otherwise she's really done nothing this series. Her only other 'high' placing was Snatch Game and that's because Gigi Hadid and OtherModelWithNoPersonality actually knew who Britney Spears was (plus this year's was overall, terrible). And honestly, she might not have been as determined and angry to get other queens out as Phi2/Roxxxy, but she was just as petty, arrogant, deluded and bitchy. It's just not a stretch to me to call her as bad as them.

Yeah I'm still slightly hopeful I guess because it was a lot more obvious that Ginger wasn't going to win because the fans were so adamant that she was an Evil Bitch From Hell or whatever (when in reality she was clocking Pearl and Violet for what they are: childish and boring respectively - Pearl being both). Whereas Bob is still super popular and hasn't got many haters.

Someone pointed out that most finals have had the fans slightly favouring one queen ahead of the actual winner: Alaska vs. Jinkx, Adore vs. Bianca, Pearl vs. Violet. Maybe even Chad vs. Sharon. So hopefully it sticks with that trend.

(for the record I'm fine with Violet's win but it's kinda embarrassing when you see the roster of winners and then come to her name... I mean fair enough you forget that Tyra ever happened in the first place but still. Roster should be: Bebe, Raven, Raja, Sharon, Chad, Alaska, Bianca, Katya & Bob. With Adore taking AS2. :hee:)

The thing that most people were annoyed with at the thought Ginger winning last year was that it would have been clear that she was only chosen to be the first 'big queen' winner when they let the best big queen (Latrice) slip through their fingers twice! Plus Ginger didn't really stand out in her season because it was a season designed for people like Violet and Pearl to thrive in, arguably Violet did the best with what she was given. If Ginger and Katya had been on this season I reckon they would have easily made Top 4.

idk I don't think it should be about having a "first" of any style of queen win just for the novelty, and Latrice rightly lost both of her seasons for some ****ty fashion choices and just much better winners/finalists (we'll pretend Shannel didn't make the final of all-stars).

Season 7 obviously had no stand-out challenges so it's hard to argue a case for anyone of them winning really, but Ginger did win as much as Violet without any of them being design challenges/being paired up with Katya. I can see why fans say the producers tried to edit her as a winner early on but you'd think if they wanted her to win they'd just edit out the continual "VIOLET NEEDS TO GROW" rants :laugh:
plus I honestly think the lipsync with Sasha is the funniest in Drag Race herstory so that should've tipped it back in her favour

I think it's fair to argue that Ginger did stand out last season. She won the most challenges out of anyone, but the only thing that brought her down was that the public didn't like her because she was associated with the "bitter/old queen clique" which was definitely unfair on production's side of things.

I'm not even a fan of Ginger, but she probably excelled the most out of anyone. Violet was great in some challenges and had the best aesthetic out of anyone so I suppose it was fair that she won, but Pearl was an absolute fail and her only wins were lead by Max and Trixie...God I hate her so much :p
