Liverpool don't need Steven Gerrard at the moment when they have Raul Meireles:p.

Gerrard hasn't been as influential this season, apart from the hat trick against Napoli. Meireles has pretty much took over his role the last 10 games or so.

Former Wolves and Tottenham defender Dean Richards dies
Former Tottenham and Wolves defender Dean Richards, whose £8.1m transfer to Spurs set a record for the highest amount paid for a player with no senior international caps, has died after a long-term illness.
Richards, who also played for Bradford and Southampton, was forced to retire from the game in March 2005 after suffering from dizzy spells and headaches while at White Hart Lane.
The 36 year-old had been working as a coach at Bradford City since 2007, the club where he had begun his career.
In 1995 Richards was signed by Wolves and four years later moved to then-Premiership side Southampton. Richards impressed on the south coast and followed manager Glenn Hoddle to White Hart Lane in 2001.
Richards was dogged by injury at Tottenham, however, making just 73 appearances in his four years in north London.
A statement on the Wolves website read: "Everyone at Wolves was saddened to hear of the death of Dean Richards, who passed away this morning after a battle with serious illness."
There will be a tribute paid to the defender ahead of Wolves game against Spurs on Sunday 6 March.
such a shame :( R.I.P.

Ngog won't be lining up, it will be Carroll in the center with Suarez and Kuyt coming in from the sides.
In Europe surely they will?
Locke.
26-02-2011, 07:03 PM
Possibly.. Don't think Dalglish rates Ngog though, in the league hes only been used about twice under him, and that's been in the last 10-15 mins, and has only been used in the Europa because Suarez is cup tied. If we need a goal in it it'll probably be Carroll and Ngog, but can see us just sticking with what we usually do and have Maxi play instead of Suarez and not Ngog

I can't see N'Gog being with Liverpool after the summer. Out of his depth with a reasonable Premier League club.
At least Daglish got rid of Konchesky straight away, just sent him out on loan as soon as he arrived. :joker:
Shame he didn't do the same with a few of the others, but theres always the summer I suppose.

Has to be a clear out really.
Who signed Jovanovic? Cole has been piss poor for the last 2/3 years really and I'm not sure who would take him on his wages. I could see Redknapp getting something out of him at Spurs.
Liverpool should try and get a bit for Johnson, awful defender and I know no one would bid anywhere near what they paid for him but could easily go for £5/6 million.
Locke.
26-02-2011, 07:21 PM
Rafa had a pre-agreement with Jovanovic a few months before he got sacked.. hard to believe Madrid wanted him at one point with the way he has been for us. Looked really good in his first couple of games aswell.
Johnson's been much better at left back since Kenny came in than he has been at right back since he joined us.. we're trying to sign a left back though, and I can't see Kelly not being first choice right back again now, so unless we're planning on using him at right mid I reckon he could leave.

****ing hell, Rafa left you with some ****e, didn't he?
It speaks volumes that Johnson is the worst defender at Liverpool, I'll give him some credit in that he is decent going forward but defensively he is out of his depth and not upto standard.
What's likely to happen with another 'Rafa gem', Aquilani?
Locke.
26-02-2011, 07:35 PM
We had an agreement with Juve that if they wanted to sign him when the loan is up at the end of the season, then it is for £11 Million, but because they've got no money they only want to spend £5 Million. I reckon we'll take him back and hold out for the £11 mil from another club.
He just had a hard time fitting into this league really, but his stats were quite good looking back, 1 goal and 8 assists in 10 starts I think. Just his overall performances let him down.

Disappointing result for Arsenal but as a United fan i'm pleased and of course hope my team beat Liverpool, however it's their cup final:p.
Arsenal had chance after chance and should have been given a penalty plus given the goal that was wrongly ruled out as offside but Sunderland's defence and keeper played well plus spot on tactics of stifling the Arsenal players and not letting them have any chance!

United defence has enough experience although Ferdinand and Vidic are a big miss, Smalling is rapidly impressing and developing despite his off the pitch incident involving a hotel party:joker:. Rafael has been awesome at right back so I think they will be fine plus Edwin Van Der Sar in goal on his day is a tough nut to crack!
I think Kelly will be a miss for Liverpool, he's injured isn't he? meh I don't rate Skrtel either...
Locke.
06-03-2011, 02:02 AM
Kelly has been the highlight of this season for us.. out for a month now. Hadn't even noticed him over the years as a stand out coming through the academy but he has been quality in the first team. He's originally a centre back so could be long term replacement for Carragher, but I'm rating him down the wing..
Skrtel has cost us so many points this season, occasionally puts in the good performance but he has to go in the summer.

Arsenal were far from convincing in their 0-0 draw with Sunderland yesterday afternoon. Then again, you don't always need to be at your best to win football games, as we've shown a few times this season and many other teams have shown before. It sure helps though.
But then, so does fair refereeing, and once again in recent months the key decisions have gone against us. After seeing Fergie get himself in trouble over his comments after the Chelsea match, Wenger wisely kept his mouth shut about the performance of the officials today. And yet, people call him 'Whinger', and repeatedly ignore Fergie's outbursts.
First Andrey Arshavin was denied an obvious penalty after being pushed over by Titus Bramble. Then with five minutes to go, he was wrongly flagged offside. The fact that Saha's mile-offside goal was allowed at the Emirates last month, but this clearly onside one was chalked out shows there's something dodgy going on here.

Some can not stop love. One such love is between Glasgow Rangers and Gennaro Gattuso. The AC Milan midfielder played in Scotland in the 1997-1998 season with excellent results and leaving a beautiful memory. The supporters of the Scottish leadership appreciated his determination, his desire to go for every ball and give it all up to final whistle.
So much so that the Rangers would like to repeat the experience next season, taking the player from Milan. At the moment though, as the bond between Gattuso and Milan is so srong, it seems difficult to envisage a farewell to Italy.

Liverpool fans rightly still on a high over that win but I bet they would swap that for a place in the top 4 right now;).
Locke I like that Spearring kid:).
United are just simply better at attacking then Arsenal are right now.. every time they went forward they looked like scoring and every time arsenal went forward you knew nothing was going to happen because Vidic and Smalling can read Van Persie, Nasri, Arshavin and Wilshere like a book.. What was funny is that Arsenal were trying to huff the ball to Van Persie when he was being marked by Vidic, He is never going to win a header against the best center back in the world right now, Everyone knows how to play against Arsenal now wenger needs to start playing with two up front.
Locke.

United's defence is strong and there is lots of options although Vidic is a big miss when he's not playing. Ferdinand is a first teamer but he has periods in which he plays but then he gets injured so maybe another centre back could be benefical.
Barcelona have some good players in their defence but because as we know they are more attacking are vulnerable at the back and I keep going on about how Inter beat them last year but they exploited it a treat:D.

Name a player that has been better then any of them in the set positions? Maybe Lennon for Dempsey at a push.. Back 4 is spot on, Smalling has been Immense since Ferdinand got injured.. Vidic has easily been the best center back of the season. Same for Evra but left back, Nani top of the Assist table says all you need to know about him. Rafael is very poor defensively. He's not too highly rated up there by the Mancs. Smalling has not played much untill recently and hardly deserves a place in team of the year. Neither of them will be in team of the year.
Nasri will be in it, although like Nani - he doesn't show up in big matches.

35 appearances, 3 goals 7 assists...
Nasri
38 games, 14 goals 4 assists..
?
Rafael is very poor defensively. He's not too highly rated up there by the Mancs. Smalling has not played much untill recently and hardly deserves a place in team of the year. Neither of them will be in team of the year.
Nasri will be in it, although like Nani - he doesn't show up in big matches.
Rafael is the best of a bad bunch of Right backs in the EPL he has played good though for the second half of the season, No one has stood out at center back either..Gary Cahill maybe.

Nasri is an attacking midfielder and Lennon is much more of an out and out Winger so he's never going to score that many in Tottenham's system.. For me on the Left his overall work rate and performances have been better then Nasri's

Not really risky, Almunia will be first choice, hes just back up.
Fabianski injured
Szcesny injured
On loan Mannone injured
lol..
Better then Sagna this season.
Better than sagna? lol
I dont think so really its just hes covered by a good centre back..
I think during the first half of the season, ivanovic was the best by a long way he has been great at right back, i think at centre back hes not so good.
