08/09.....what a year

It was a brilliant year, even though we ended up not winning anything. That Gerrard and Torres partnership was unstoppable. We scored 4 against Arsenal, Chelsea, Man United and Real Madrid, and while we may have only won two of those, every game was brilliantly entertaining. So many dramatic games, so many late goals, so close to winning the title. I don't think I'll enjoy a season as much as that in a long time.

What a team we had as well. Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard playing in the form of his career, Torres scoring for fun, Benayoun actually looking like a quality player in that second half of the season. Our starting eleven was the best in the league. And then it all fell a part in the season that followed :(
