Actually, when I was looking up his films a while ago I saw 28 Years later on that list, I was hoping he was properly in it though so that's disappointing

But overall it does it's thing well enough I guess, I've definitely seen worse.

…Unit 234/The Lock Up…it wasn’t a bad movie…it wasn’t a great movie but it kept the edge of the seat stuff going as well as it could and there was a twist that I hadn’t anticipated so…not too shabby…Don Johnson always seems to play a ‘bad guy’ in movies atm…well, this is only the second one that I’ve seen him in lately but…6/10…
…not sure why I typed all of that in bold…
…City Island……just a gorgeous heartwarming movie with a terrific cast…Julianna Margulies, Andy Garcia, Emily Mortimer, Alan Arkin, Ezra Miller….it wasn’t a newer movie…I think it was 2009 but a complete hidden gem that I loved every inch of…8/10…..

6 Days. Jamie Bell, Mark Strong, Martin Shaw, Tim Piggott Smith. The story of the Iranian Embassy siege in 1980 and the SAS's action to take it back. Really well done. 9/10
…Fountain of Youth……it was a Guy Ritchie movie so could have been and should have been great…along the vein of Indiana Jones movies or Romancing the Stone or the Librarian franchise…the actors themselves made up a good and solid cast but they just didn’t connect well and the acting was very cardboard and the action and excitement and thrills just weren’t there…not really sure where Guy Ritchie’s head was at but 2/10…not the worst movie ever but…actually yes, the worst movie ever…

I've watched my first Jason Statham Movie, and oh God do I have a lot to say about the Film, but I'll keep it brief for everyone's sanity.:joker:
The Beekeeper - It makes The Cleaner look like a masterpiece in comparison.
I honestly don't know what I would score it out of ten, but it wouldn't be higher than a three if I were to be generous.
The last few minutes might possibly be the most awful writing that I have seen over the last few years, because basically they had to justify Jason Statham's character not being a completely unhinged psychopath who murders scammers.
Controversial opinion but I don't believe that scammers should die, as scummy as they are.

Enola Holmes. Millie Bobbie Brown, Henry Cavill, Helena Bonham-Carter. Sister of Sherlock and Mycroft reaches 16 and chaos ensues. Amusing, charming... I'm a big fan of Millie and of Henry Cavill who, I think, would be a brilliant James Bond. Anyhoo, would recommend, 8/10
Further to this.... Enola Holmes 2.
While I like Millie Bobbie Brown and Henry Cavill, and while I can overlook a black man as Victorian Inspector Lestrade, I cannot accept as real an Asian Dr Watson and a black woman as Moriarty. Moreover, the Victorian Match Girls who took part in the first industrial action in 1888 were NOT 50% black as this stupid film would have us believe. Ridiculous. If they'd put a cockney into polite Victorian society it would have ruined it for me but they would never do that! Yet we're asked to accept the blind casting of ethnic people without question. Ruined it. 2/10.

We went to see Mission Impossible yesterday as a family, all four of us stretched out on our reclining seats at 2.30 in the afternoon bliss
As to the movie it was a real cheesefest, Tom doing his own stunts is just amazing to watch though, and Gabriel is a real comedy villian, have to say I laughed out loud when he got his comeuppance, it was comedic (dont think that is a spoiler as that is the expectation in these movies)

Just got round to watching Tenebrae (1982), a film friends have always urged me to see.
Now I have but I was disappointed. The plot holes in this are ridiculous and the characters' actions make no sense, particularly the killer when we find out who he or she is.
This film scores about a 7/10 on IMDB but I just gave it 4/10. The special bloody effects are good for the time, but the film tries to be exciting and scary but isn't. It hasn't aged well. Seems more like a 1970 movie.

…Ride the Eagle……this was a lovely feel good movie, it was so engaging …I enjoyed it a lot…any Susan Sarandon movie is a good movie but although her character featured hugely, her appearances were quite low key…Jake Johnson is the main feature in his character of Leif and also featuring JK Simmons as well…7.5/10….
Why are these movie studios messing up soooo many fabulous opportunities. ?
Noah ( Russell Crowe) - walking rock monsters !!
Gladiator 2 - fighting huge silly looking cgi baboons and massive sharks !
King Arthur - Legend of the Sword
Starts off with the city being destroyed by 50’ tall elephants !!!

Had you watched the first one?
…Accountant 2…Jon Bernthal’s character was gloriously insane……this kind of made up a bit for the reckless killing off of Shane in The Walking Dead…good chemistry between the two leads…8/10…
…I also watched a movie called Plight……it was a pretty low budget movie, I think…I don’t think that I blinked though, from beginning to end…a very tragic/very harrowing/very absorbing plot and also a very deserving 8/10…
Had you watched the first one?
…I did…but it was such a while ago that I don’t recall the specifics of the plot…this was just that I must have been tired when I tried to watch the first time as yesterday I was straight into it and loved it…

Grave Of The Fireflies - I watched it due to Ammi's recommendation of the Film.
I really liked it, the tone really suited the Film imo, and the ending is very memorable.
Seita also made a decision that I didn't fully agree with personally, but I like a flawed lead.
Overall I would score the Film 9/10

I've tried to watch a Horror Film called It Feeds.
The only real selling point to this Film is that the Mother is hot.
The writing is bland, and the acting is like usual Horror fare tbh.
The Internet connection was absolutely dire too.

John Cassavetes was in it, and he's a really good natural actor. He was also in Rosemary's Baby.:shocked:
The Incubus has a similar uneasy creepy feel, and it was surprisingly good and never boring or slow.
Creepy kills too. It's a horror movie. The ending came swiftly and was a surprise.
An underrated film. I give it 7/10. :D

…oh I watched that earlier in the week also and I hadn’t realised what the storyline was going to be…I also watched And Mrs with Aisling Bea…that was lighter as it was billed as a comedy but still very emotional moments as well…anyway, that’s my quota of movie tears for the year all shed now…

Sonic The Hedgehog 3
I didn't like the Film tbh, I definitely will say that it's my least favourite Sonic Movie so far.
Now don't get me wrong I know that it's a Movie aimed towards kids, that also is based off of a Platforming Video Game series, so I'm not expecting Berserk level writing here, but I do feel like the Film had a few things that really bothered me.
I'll list my pro's and cons, starting with the cons.
- A lot of the dialogue was just bad or strange imo. In particular the Happy B-Earthday scene near the beginning of the Film.:umm2:
- The Film was finding any excuse to just blast out Music/Montage Music in the Film, at one point I was wondering if Disney were making the Film. It was irritating imo.
- Jim Carrey I felt controversially overdid his performance in the Film, I do normally like his performances, but this one just didn't land for me. Especially the weird dance segment that felt like it was added into the Film just to appeal to the TikTok crowd.
- Bizarre "jokes" that just weren't funny in the Film (except for about two jokes) the one that really bothered me as I just didn't understand what was meant to be so funny about it (to sound like Kanye West in the Fishsticks episode on South Park) was the scene after Sonic gets the information from Knuckles about where the Master Emerald is being kept, and we then see the guy who has the Master Emerald (I'm sorry, I can't remember his name) playing Hockey with the Master Emerald in place of a Hockey Puck. I honestly don't understand what was meant to be funny about it? I honestly don't believe that I would've found it funny as a child, and I'm just really confused by the scene as an adult. What was meant to be the punchline?
- This one had potential to be quite good actually, but imo logic fails kind of nuked it for me. Which was how they were handling Sonic and Shadow's "two sides of the same coin" dynamic in the Film, because Shadow is taking his revenge out on everyone, where as Sonic is getting revenge on Shadow by trying to save everyone. If you have seen the Film you'll get what I mean, it makes the idea look silly because Shadow's actions in the Film were far more evil than Sonic's. I'll give them credit for trying to write something with a bit more depth to it, but it needed better execution imo.
Now onto the positives.
- Shadow's flashbacks with Maria were not too shabby imo. Obviously it's less focused on than what Shadow and Maria's dynamic got in some of the Games, but it was handled well considering the runtime that a Movie gets I thought.
- Knuckles being afraid of Casper joke was actually funny imo.
- And the Easter egg scene where they go to Chao Garden was quite cool I thought.
- I liked that the Film finally tried to develop Dr. Robotnik's henchman.
Overall I would score the Film a 4/10.

Superman 2025 - It's got pretty good reviews but honestly I wasn't feeling it at all. Seemed like they were trying to be a Marvel movie but instead came of like a goofy almost cartoon type thing. and i just LOVE Florence, David's russian accents :flutter: and i even say this is a better acting performance from David than his role as Hopper on Stranger Things, glad he wasn't just a one off in Black Widow
the ending yes this sets up Fantastic Four so nicely!
my score 8.5, no 10 for me only because i reserved my 10's for the Guardians of the Galaxy, but all in all a very good movie
as for Bucky's scenes, his action scenes i prefer over his scenes as congressman, feels weird seeing him involved in politics honestly
…Meg 2 The Trench…Jason Statham and co kicking ass with the Megalodons…marvellous nonsense…6.5/10… …

It's adapted from the Richard Osman book. Didn't know it was a series... I didn't read the book though. There are loads of great actors in it. I did enjoy it it's just I found it a bit predictable.

The plot barely covered the 90 minute span, in my opinion. A series would be more than tedious... It made me laugh though that the retirement home featured in the film was described in the press as a kind of 'Hogwarts of retirement homes'.

…Juror #2……it was a good cast and well acted…Toni Collette, Nicholas Hoult, Zoey Deutch …but the storyline was a bit….silly, I felt…not very believable …still a reasonable watch, though…6/10…
…The Beekeeper……Jason Statham keeping bees and kicking ass and helping people to see their wicked ways …what can I say…5.5/10…nice bees…

…The Thursday Murder Club is being released on Netflix on 28th August/Thursday…I’ve been looking forward to watching it…movies seem to get their streaming site debut just after cinema release now, which is something that seems to have happened over recent times…
I feel that's sad tbh.
Going to the Cinemas is a cool option to keep around imo.
Netflix is trying to build a monopoly on entertainment, which is really annoying.:fist:

Sorry but the very first film ruined the old TV series
Especially when they decided to turn JIm Phelps into the arch villain
Plus I am not a fan of Tom Cruise, because of the Scientology issues. If I recall he was ordered to divorce his first wife, a Catholic, because she would not convert to Scientology, and he obeyed those cult leaders.

Well, I disagree.
I have no comment on other people's beliefs and know nothing about Tom Cruise's private life beyond celebrity gossip and comments from sources "close to Mr Cruise". I think he's the consummate film star.

…Twisters……I’m not sure if it’s a follow on movie from Twister in the 90’s but it was pretty ok, actually…I haven’t seen Maura Tierney in any movie/series for a while so it was nice to see her as Kate’s mom…the twister scenes were pretty good but they were quite fleeting and went by in a whirlwind…I’d say a solid 6.5/10…weather phenomenons have such a fascination ….

…Trap……I don’t know what I thought of it tbh…it was ok, I didn’t dislike it as such but I had such expectations of a great character role with Josh Hartnett in it/he’s such a generally watchable actor, but I didn’t find him believable in this…that split good/evil personality just didn’t quite get there in terms of sinister and the nail biting bits were more nail nibbling for me…maybe a 5/10, it was ok but just didn’t work for me…
…the ending obviously left the way for a sequel…no, not again…

Yeah, and it still worked so well. I'm a big fan of Cruise, but also Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Rebecca Ferguson.
…The Brutalist……I mean, it was vast/expansive at around three and a half hours…but it really didn’t feel that at all and every moment was as absorbing as any previous….great story that took us through so many emotions and great performances especially from Adrien Brody and Guy Pearce who both totally owned their screen time…9/10……

…Die Alone……I thought that it was a good/enjoyable take on the zombie apocalypse storyline…Carrie-Anne Moss I think is such an underrated actress, her character carries the movie so well…I’m going to say 8/10 because I did enjoy it a lot……
…I did guess the twist very early on with Mae being Emma and having aged but that Ethan hadn't aged… it was just after they apparently first met and were dancing and there was an intimate moment in that slow dance…but that didn’t spoil the storyline in thinking that was how it was…interesting that Carrie-Anne Moss was also in Memento because I felt the storylines had some parallels…one of the lines with Mae saying that she had a feasting bitch face…?…I think it’s more of a Poker face, it made her more perfect for the role as she has such a straight poker face when needed…

maybe not as precise as the animated original, but SOOOOOOOOOOOOO ENJOYABLE!!!!! i dare even comparing it a little bit to the live action Sonic success in terms of entertainment levels
also the many Elvis Presley songs in there, as well as the record of Blue Hawaii
the hound dog, and devil in disguise songs especially with their respective scenes
well made  also such a perfect casting for Lilo, the cutest most adorable girl ever i think, and for her first acting role, she was literally phenomenal as Lilo
Zach Galifianakis as one of the bad guys though :fan:

Resident Evil: Degeneration
I love the Games, and I remember liking a couple of the Live Action Films when I was a kid.
But this was my first time watching any of the Animated Movies, and I've got to say that I did enjoy it, in particular they captured how Resident Evil should be written imo, unlike some of the recent entries in the Video Games.
I'm not saying that 7 & Village don't have their merits, but Degeneration has the cheesy dialogue and storylines that I just really love in Resident Evil.
To clarify it's not up there with the best Resident Evil Games imo, or even up with there as one of my favourite Movies.
But it's a Film that I think anyone can enjoy.
If I were to score the Film, then I would score it a solid 7/10

Resident Evil: Damnation
It was a really fun Film (just like Degeneration was tbf,) but it had two things in it that Degeneration didn't have.
1. Lickers
And 2. Two beautiful women fighting each other:joker:
But being as fair as possible with these things, the Video Games are significantly better imo.
But I do still think that both Animated Movies are fun to watch, especially if you're looking for a bit of a Zombie romp.

Superman (2025)
yes massively enjoyed it, one of the better recent superman films by far, and thank you James Gunn, doing the Jonathan Kent justice, Pru is deffo up there among John Schneider in terms of the Pa Kent actors
also those music choices in the film! Iggy Pop's Punkrocker at the end :flutter:
but Nathan Fillion's hair style :joker: having said that, he did a nice job as Green Lantern
David is a good new superman actor, and Rachel Brosnahan is a worthy Lois actress, a proper successor to Bitsie Tulloch if you ask me
