After being unable to watch Corrie for a few weeks....It's back!

TANGO WATCH

In today's tango watch we look at Mondays installments!

Our first pair of tanimals are the ever tanning and arguing couple that is David and Tina. As ever David has maintained a scorching glow! While Tina has managed to fall from the nuclear levels of tango she previously had!

The ratings I give them are;
'But now... There's nowhere to hide
you pushed my tan aside
I'm outta my head
I'm totally devoted to your tan
even if you are a scummy man

They're hopelessly devoted to tanning!'

And now, a first timer on the show! It's Becky. For the first time ever A weatherfield resident has done right by their tans! Becky, we salute you and your perfect shade of mild bronze! We present you with the Audrey Roberts Cross for Tanning under heavy bar-work and drawn out storylines!

Arise Lady Becky of Tannington!

And that's all folks!

There’s a heady cocktail of intrigue, romance, deception, mystery and, of course, comedy on Coronation Street this autumn. With new arrivals, departures, affairs and fallouts, it all adds up to must-see TV.

Steve’s fling with Becky is still a secret, but for how long? With Becky working behind the bar and getting ever friendlier with Michelle, it can only be a matter of time before someone lets something slip. And when Becky finds herself single again, she goes on a drunken rampage, which spells trouble for Steve.

Liam and Carla’s secret fling is another ticking time bomb. Carla invests in Liam and his cousin’s new business, but it throws the pair together again and the feelings that they’ve both tried to bury resurface.

Although Liam is trying for a baby with Maria, he can’t contain his jealousy when Tom flirts with Carla. But will Carla give in again to the man she truly loves?

In an effort to expand Underworld, Tony launches a David and Goliath battle to force garage owner Kevin to sell up - but when he refuses, Tony uses every dirty trick in the book, including using Rosie in a bid to put Kevin out of business.

Rosie still has the video of Carla in a clinch with Liam and enjoys the power she has over her family and her bosses. But Rosie goes missing and cash from a factory syndicate lottery win is found in her bank account. Has she really done a runner or is something more sinister going on?

Teresa surprised everyone with her ‘devotion’ to ex-hubby Jerry, even managing to win round sceptical daughter Mel. But Jerry doesn’t get any better – in fact, his health deteriorates alarmingly. Is her Mother Teresa act all it seems?

Scarlett.

Sunday
With Tyrone (Alan Halsall) worried about his mum, he and Molly (Vicky Binns) head off to visit her. Tyrone warns her that Jackie's (Margi Clarke) not a normal mum, and usually spells trouble, but when Molly sees her nice street she's sure he's exaggerating. Molly hits it off with Jackie but something's not right. Tyrone gets the feeling they're being watched by someone and Jackie's jumpy. But who is the mystery man waiting outside? Suspicious, Tyrone keeps bringing up Jackie’s past, unconvinced by her claims she's changed. Is Tyrone about to get himself into trouble?
Maria (Samia Smith) is not impressed when Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) tells her about kissing John (Graeme Hawley). Eileen (Sue Cleaver) meanwhile guesses John’s good mood is to do with Fiz. He reveals they kissed last night but warns Eileen there is no master plan and he's not going to rush her. John awkwardly tries to apologise to Fiz for over-stepping the mark last night, will she go running back into his arms?

Sally (Sally Whittaker) is fuming that Julie (Katy Cavanagh) is to be her holiday cover at the factory, thinking that Tony (Gray O’Brien) is trying to push her out of her job. Kevin's (Michael LeVell) already worried about leaving his business in its current state. As the family get ready to leave, will Tony get in the way?

Elsewhere as Teresa (Karen Henthorn) steps up her poisoning Jerry (Michael Starke) is starting to feel unwell and asks to see a doctor, and David (Jack P Shepherd) tries to wind up Tina (Michael Keegan) using an oblivious Amber (Nikki Patel).

This episode is written by Carmel Morgan, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Ian Bevitt.

****

PI for the rest of the week follows:

Monday 25 August 7.30pm

Tyrone (Alan Halsall) and Molly (Vicky Binns) have spent the night in the car waiting for Jackie (Margi Clarke) to return. But Tyrone's worry turns to anger when his mum turns up revealing she has no intention of paying Brian what she owes and plans to do another runner. As the real Jackie comes out in all her glory she reveals how she scammed him. Tyrone's devastated but when Molly suggests using their wedding fund to help her out he claims he's had enough of bailing her out. What will Tyrone do as he's abandoned by his mother again?

Jerry's (Michael Starke) looking increasingly unwell and when Gail (Helen Worth) organises for a doctor to come and visit him Teresa (Karen Henthorn) worries that she's about to be discovered, just as Jerry seems to be softening about having her live with them. Can Teresa continue to pull the wool over everyone's eyes or is her time up?

Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is confused by her growing feelings for John (Graeme Hawley) but when Julie (Katy Cavanagh) spots them sharing a drink at the Rovers Fiz is mortified. Expecting Julie to be disparaging about their friendship Fiz is shocked when Julie suggests maybe she should give him another chance.

Elsewhere David's (Jack P Shepherd) plan to wind up Tina (Michelle Keegan) by flirting with Amber (Nikki Patel) seems to be working, and as Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Nina (Harvey Virdi) enjoy a dangerous liaison at Dev's new flat it's clear he's becoming infatuated with her.

This episode is written by Carmel Morgan, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Ian Bevitt.

*****

Monday 25 August 8.30pm

Mel's (Emma Edmondson) back from holiday and is shocked to see both Teresa (Karen Henthorn) still living at the Mortons and how ill Jerry (Michael Starke) looks. Not believing Teresa's act Mel's glad to hear she's moving out today. However desperate for her plan to make Jerry dependent on her work Teresa slips more pills into his dinner before leaving. But as she heads off to her new flat Teresa starts to feel guilty for drugging Jerry and tells the taxi driver there's been a change of plan. As Jerry grows increasingly unwell will she make it back to him in time?

Back on the street, with the wedding fund gone, an upset Molly (Vicky Binns) discusses ways of downsizing her wedding plans. Meanwhile Jackie's (Margi Clarke) still on the scene. But when Jack finds her hanging around in the Duckworth's back yard will he be soft soaped?

Sean (Antony Cotton) tries to rein in his jealousy of Marcus (Charlie Condou) having to stay at Noel's house while he's away. But Marcus is snappy and it's only when Tom (Phillip McGinley) comes in the Rovers that Sean perks up. Is Sean about to start looking elsewhere?

Elsewhere Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) worries he is getting in too deep with Nina (Harvey Virdi) when she tells him to book them a hotel room.

This episode is written by Martin Sterling, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Ian Bevitt.

****

Wednesday 27 August 7.30pm

Feeling increasingly unwell Jerry's (Michael Starke) pleased to have Teresa (Karen Henthorn) back. Mel's (Emma Edmondson) suspicious though and makes a few phone calls about the flat, which Teresa said had falling through. Discovering it's a lie, Mel's furious. Trying to back track Teresa claims she just wants to look after Jerry. But Mel's had enough and tells her dad to choose - either Teresa goes or she does. How will an exhausted Jerry react as Teresa's poisoning takes it's toll on hi health?

Amber's (Nikki Patel) excited when David (Jack P Shepherd) asks her to join him for lunch. Thinking it's a date she's dressed to the nines, which doesn't go unnoticed by Tina (Michelle Keegan) or Darryl (Jonathon Dixon). Back at the Platts it's clear Amber's ready to sleep with David but as they kiss he feels uncomfortable. Her jealousy getting the better of her Tina bursts in, her reaction's just what he wanted and David tells her this shows she still loves him. Devastated at being used, Amber flees. Will David and Tina get back together?

Elsewhere Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Nina (Harvey Virdi) settle into their hotel room but he's puzzled when she goes off on her own for some luxury treatments.

Sean's (Antony Cotton) gutted when Todd calls saying he's seen Marcus with another man.

This episode is written by Julie Jones, produced by Steve Frost and directed by Ian Bevitt.

CORRIE’s ruthless factory boss has murder in mind when he chucks Rosie’s phone in the canal after discovering saucy snaps of Carla and Liam on it.

Tony Gordon (Gray O’Brien) is overcome with rage when he sees the photos of his lover Carla Connor (Alison King) kissing her dead husband’s brother, Liam (Rob James Collier) on the wild teen’s phone and vows revenge.

The businessman finds out about the affair after rebellious Rosie tries to seduce him in a hotel and leaves her phone behind.

And after the soap’s bosses announced in June that Liam will be brutally murdered, the cheeky charmer better watch his back...

The scenes, being filmed at the moment, will hit screens later this year.

THERE must be something in the bitter at the Rovers — Corrie barmaid Jane Danson is the soap’s SIXTH expectant star.

Jane, 29, who plays Leanne Battersby, is carrying her second child by hubby Robert Beck (Jimmy).

Wanda Opalinska, (Wiki) has also just joined the Weatherfield club. It includes Alison King (Carla) and expectant fathers Andy Whyment (Kirk), Ryan Thomas (Jason) and Jack P Shepherd — who plays David.

A source said: “We have got to explain all the absences when the stars go on leave.”

I agree. Why the hell was Steve Frost in charge? His answer to everything was bring in a new family and build a new set. You got the feeling he didn't give a **** about the show.
Anyway, I'm glad it's on the up :) Lovin it lately.

Speaking of the Conors, Michelle has been getting on my nerves recently; marching around the street like she owns the place and kicking Steve out of his own pub!! She's only hired help not the boss and Steve should have told her where to get off. I'll be glad when she goes on tour and off our screens for a while.

CORONATION Street bosses have drafted in Bollywood beauty Ayesha Dharker after facing criticism for being “too white”.

Last month, a study by equality chief Trevor Phillips blasted soaps for showing only black and Asian stereotypes.

Corrie’s Asian corner shop boss Dev Alahan was cited as an example of tokenism — but his role will be beefed up with a sizzling mother — daughter love triangle featuring the newcomer.

Bombay-born Ayesha, 31 — who has also been in Star Wars Episode II and Doctor Who — will appear on the ITV1 soap from October as Tara Mandal, daughter of Dev’s love Nina.

When Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) meets her, he is smitten and ends up caught between the two women.

The report found black and Asian viewers believe they are often inaccurately portrayed.

A show insider said: “We really want Ayesha to become a favourite with viewers.”

Coronation Street's Kelly Crabtree is apparently set to take on a second job pulling pints as she goes behind the bar at the Rovers Return.

Hard-up Kelly, played by 30-year-old Tupele Dorgu, will take up the job to make a few extra pounds to supplement her income from working in the nearby Underworld factory, according to reports in The Mirror.

According to the paper, Kelly is asked: "Since when did you become a barmaid?"

To which she replies: "About 30 seconds ago... I really need the money so here I am."

Bookmaker Dan Mason is also said to fall for Kelly when he spots her in the pub.

Kelly will be the 51st woman to take up a job at the Rovers Return.

Previous pint-pullers include Irma Ogden, Racquel Watts and the leopard-print loving Bet Lynch.

Betty Williams, played by Betty Driver, has been pulling pints and serving up her renowned hot pot since 1969.

____________________________
DASTARDLY Coronation Street villain Tony Gordon has met his match with the return of soap legend Jed Stone.

Jed, played by Southport-based actor Kenneth Cope, returns to the cobbles after the longest absence in soap history - he was last seen in the show 42 years ago as “Sunny Jim”.

With a nod to his most famous role, Hopkirk, in cult 70's crime show Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased), Kenneth will once again turn detective as Jed becomes embroiled in a murder plot.

“Liam's going to get killed and Jed's involved in finding out who did the murder,” said Kenneth.

The show's scriptwriters have revealed that Liam Connor, the love rival of ruthless property developer Tony Gordon, is soon to leave the show after being brutally murdered.

Now he's back in the Granada green room after more than 40 years, Kenneth is relishing his new role.

“I've already been yelled at in Tesco’s!” he said.

“A very nicely dressed middle class lady shouted to me, 'Give him a good clout, Jed!'”

For Kenneth this is nothing new - last time he was a regular at the Rovers Return he was the nation's favourite loveable rogue and became used to the public attention.

“I was always a favourite with older ladies,” he said.

But his role as Minnie Caldwell's wheeler dealer lodger brought him some more welcome female attention - from his wife of more than 30 years, Renny Lister.

Renny played Jean Stark in the show, one of Sunny Jim's ill-fated love interests, and while the on-screen romance was doomed, in real life it led to a long and happy marriage, three children and four grandchildren.

They look back fondly on the show that brought them together.

“It was a real family,” said Renny.

“We'd come in on Mondays, pick up our expenses and spend them all at once!

“Then we'd rehearse all week, and film on Fridays - things were so different back then.”

With more than 70 credits to his CV, Kenneth boasts roles in the Carry On films, Doctor Who, Last of the Summer Wine, The Avengers, Genghis Khan and the 1960s satirical show That Was the Week That Was.

Now he's put the flat cap back on and has already caused a stir on the Street, collapsing with a heart attack in front of his beloved cat “Sunny Jim” in his first episode, screened on Monday.

“That scene took us seven takes to get right,” he confided.

“I've bonded with the cat, he was very concerned about me - as I lay on the floor I could feel his paw stroking my face.

“I can't wait to get back there to work with the cat again - he's called Herby in real life - he can have top billing!”

FIERY Becky Granger faces a lengthy jail sentence after she goes on a wild wrecking spree.

The Corrie pint-puller will be arrested for criminal damage, theft, assault and indecent exposure when she flashes her boobs at a car full of lads after they shout abuse at her.

Becky – played by Katherine Kelly, 29 – goes on her orgy of drunken violence and vandalism after learning that boyfriend Jason Grimshaw has left for Milan to rekindle his romance with estranged wife Sarah.

Jason (Ryan Thomas, 24) is determined to get Sarah back after she confesses she misses him.

Becky does not take the news of his departure very well and heads to a nightclub where she snogs every fella in sight.

She gets in a fight with one lad’s girlfriend and ends up pinching her purse.

Viewers will then watch as she gets her boobs out for the lads. “What do you think you’re looking at. Here… do you want a bit of these?” she screams before pulling up her top.

Next she takes an iron bar and smashes a shop window, wrecks a parked car and heads off to Jason’s builders yard to vandalise his truck.

Ex-offender Becky lands herself in hot water after being recognised and the police soon call on her, arresting her for criminal damage, theft and assault.

Becky knows that if she is found guilty it will mean a long stretch in the nick so invents an alibi.

She claims she was with her married lover all night. And, when police refuse to grant bail until she says who her lover is, she tells them it was Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson, 33).

A show insider said: “Steve refuses to support her alibi until she blackmails him that she’ll spill the beans to his girlfriend Michelle about their one-night stand. So Steve backs up her story to the cops.”

When the bank knocks back Tom's (Phillip McGinley) request for a loan he makes out everything's fine to Liam (Rob James-Collier). Needing the cash quick he knows Carla's (Alison King) now their only option and she knows it too as she pushes for a 25% stake in the business and the chance to break the news to Liam herself. Tom's in no position to argue but as he does the deal he worries about Liam's reaction. Oblivious to the arrangement Liam celebrates his new venture in the Rovers as a smug Carla plans her next move.

At the Mortons it's Mel's (Emma Edmondson) first day as a full fledged copper but she can't help brooding about what happened to Abi. Jerry (Michael Starke) meanwhile acknowledegs Teresa (Karen Henthorn) is sorry for the poisoning but tells her to stay away from the kids.

John's (Graeme Hawley) in shock following the sudden death of his grandmother. As he makes arrangements for the funeral he gives Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) the brush off when she approaches for a chat. Puzzled, Fiz is starting to feel lonelier than ever.

And Sean's (Antony Cotton) lovesick following his split from Marcus but he's getting little sympathy from his friends who point out it's his own that fault Marcus left him.

This episode is written by Mark Burt, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Tim Dowd.

PI for the rest of the week follows:

Monday 8 September 8.30pm

Liam's (Rob James-Collier) furious with Tom (Phillip McGinley) after discovering he's made Carla (Alison King) a partner in their new business and he's beholden to her yet again. Carla plays it cool as Liam insists he wants her out of the deal and is going to repay her. But as he studies the figures he realises they'll lose the contract without her money. Will Liam put his mariage to Maria first or has Carla found her way back into his life?

Meanwhile Maria's (Samia Smith) waiting at home for Liam. He's on a promise but when he arrives back late and in a foul mood will he break the news that he's back in business with Carla once again?

Knowing how close John (Graeme Hawley) was to his Gran, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) worries about he's coping. Her feelings getting the better of her she starts to feign a headache in preaparation for throwing a sickie so she can join him at the funeral.

Elsewhere Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) insists he's going to finish with Nina and Mel (Emma Edmondson) celebrates when she hears Abi's operation went well.

This episode is written by Simon Crowther, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Tim Dowd.

Wednesday 10 September 7.30pm

John's (Graeme Hawley) surprised when Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) asks if she can accompany him to his gran's funeral. Grateful for her support it's a tough day for John who admits he couldn't have got through it without her. As they head back to his grandmother's to check the house, John admits how he regrets runining their chance of happiness. It's been an emotional day for Fiz and with her guard down will she let John back into her heart?

Liam's (Rob James-Collier) got a lot of making up to do with Maria (Samia Smith) but he can't get Carla (Alison King) out of his head. Guessing the pair have got history Tom (Phillip McGinley) lays his cards on the table and says he fancies his chances with her. Liam's non-committal but when he sees them flirting in the Rovers Liam's narked as Carla milks the situation.

Abi's gutted to hear the injuries to her eye will mean she's confined to a desk job. As she tells Mel (Emma Edmondson) she's considering quitting the force if she can't be a proper copper Mel can't help but blame herself.

Elsewhere Amber (Nikki Patel) consoles Darryl (Jonathon Dixon) as Teresa tries to use him to get to the rest of the Mortons.

This episode is written by Peter Whalley, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by Tim Dowd.

Friday 12 September 7.30pm

Mel (Emma Edmondson) is still struggling with her guilt, knowing she's the one who's responsible for Abi's (Rachael Elizabeth) injuries, and she can' face going into work. As Jerry (Michael Starke) wonders if she's got enough nerve for the job Mel decides to drown her sorrows in the Rovers. But as the evening goes on she heads for a taxi, refusing to say where she's going. Teresa (Karen Henthorn) and Darryl (Jonathon Dixon) decide to follow her and are shocked to hear she's heading back to the club where Abi was injured. What is Mel up to?

Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is throwing another sickie to be with John (Graeme Hawley). Admitting she'd miss him if he wasn't around she agrees to give their relationship another try and blow what their friends think. John's delighted but how long will they be able to hide themselves away for?

As Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Tom (Phillip McGinley) prepare stock Maria muses about how nicely they're doing without Carla (Alison King). The boys know better but neither are prepared to let Maria in on their secret.

It works and Mel calms down but as she goes to the bar to get threm a drink Teresa follows Charelle to the toilets. Is she about to exact her own revnege?

Meanwhile Amber's (Nikki Patel) gutted when a preoccupied Darryl (Jonathon Dixon) forgets their date. But as she consoles herself with chocolate Darryl appears full of apologies. Will they kiss and make up?

Dev's (Jimmi Harkishin) late for a meeting with Prem (Madhav Sharma) but Nina (Harvey Virdi) doesn't care and is in no hurry to leave the flat. Eventually Prem arrives at the door and Dev is forced to hide Nina in the bedroom. Is their affair about to be discovered?

Elsewhere Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) arrives back on the street with John (Graeme Hawley) in tow. Julie's (Katy Cavanagh) disappointed to see she's let John talk her round and Fiz realises their relationship is not going to be readily accepted.

Exclusive: Coronation Street's pregnant Alison King is ordered to smoke

She's shocked by Street cig scene

She's pregnant in real-life - but stunned Corrie star Alison King has been ordered by soap bosses to start smoking again.

In a controversial storyline, her bitchy Street character Carla Connor lights up because she is so stressed-out.

Actress Alison, 35 - who immediately packed in when she learned she was expecting her first child next February - has been told she will be provided with HERBAL cigs for the scenes.

But she has revealed to friends she was horrified when she saw the script called for her to start puffing away.

A source said: "She isn't best pleased. It was hard enough for her to give up in real life.

"And even inhaling smoke from herbal tobacco surely can't be a good thing for a mum-to-be." As factory boss Carla, Alison will be seen cadging a cig off chain-smoking Deirdre Barlow, played by Anne Kirkbride, when they are having a heart-to-heart chat.

Deirdre, who loves her ciggies, puffs away in the Rovers back yard as they discuss the future. Then Carla asks shocked Deirdre for a fag to which she replies: "I didn't know you smoked."

Carla responds: "It's been 13 years since I've had one and that was only shared." Deirdre hands her a fag, lights it for her and says: "Let's smoke to old memories."

In the script, Alison - whose partner is TV sound assistant Adam Huckett, 29 - is instructed to "take a good long drag".

Alison found herself expecting just over a year after falling in love with Adam on the set.

They are said to be "over the moon and thrilled and delighted" at the prospect of becoming parents.

 at the thought of Carla and Deirdre

The gang of men dressed in matching tartan shirts labelled Tony's Tartan Terrors could be on any drunken boys' night out. But they will be going home with more than just a hangover.

In an upcoming Coronation Street plotline Tony Gordon uses his stag do as a chance to murder love rival Liam Connor, played by Rob James-Collier.

Evil act: Tony Gordon, left, murders Liam Connor

Street badboy Tony, played by Gray O'Brien, discovered that his fianceé Carla, played by Alison King, had spent the night with her handsome brother-in-law Liam.

His mind turned to murder when he saw pictures of the pair together on Rosie Webster's mobile phone.

And the evil businessman decided to get rid of Liam once and for all.

James-Collier announced that he was quitting the soap in February.

But with three different endings filmed the question is, how will Tony do the dirty deed?

CORRIE’S hottest couple will steam up the cobbles again — as Liam seduces Carla in her wedding gown, TV Biz can reveal.

Ladies man Liam lures his sister-in-law into bed as she prepares to wed Tony Gordon.

Hunky Liam, played by Rob James-Collier, has returned to his wife Maria (Samia Smith) but he can’t hide his passion as he catches Carla (Alison King) trying on the dress she plans to say “I Do” in.

A source said: “Liam can’t bear the thought of losing Carla and grabs her in her wedding gown.

“Even though he’s back with Maria and they are planning a new baby, he can’t help himself.”

Secret Wetherfield lovers Liam and Carla only slept together once before when devastated Liam’s baby son was stillborn.

He took on Carla as a “sleeping partner” in his business after she blackmailed him into selling 40 per cent of his share of the factory to Tony as £180,000 hush money.

However, Liam will soon be killed off in a Corrie whodunnit? Tony (Gray O’Brien) knows fiancée Carla slept with his brother-in-law — so could he be the culprit?

Actor Rob, 31, revealed he was quitting after less than two years on the soap over fears of being typecast.

Hayley Cropper is set to return to 'Coronation Street'.

The transsexual wife of cafe owner Roy Cropper has been doing charity work in Africa for the past year.

But the shy do-gooder - played by Julie Hesmondhalgh - will not be the same person fans of the show became accustomed to when she sets foot back in Weatherfield.

An insider said: "Everybody is looking forward to seeing one of the Street's favourite couples reunited, but Hayley's not the same person she was.

"It'll be interesting to see how she adapts to being back and how she fits into the dynamic at the cafe with everything that's gone on between Roy and Becky."

Before she left for Mozambique, Hayley was violently attacked by her son Christian when she broke the news to him that she was his biological father.

Hayley - who fathered Christian before her sex change operation - will return to the ITV soap in the Autumn.

It's been a while since we last had a male stripper on Coronation Street. Remember our old friend the Python?

Anyway, the Star says that Carla's hen-night in October is going to feature a whipped-cream-covered hunk called Zorro, and that several of the Corrie ladies will behave outrageously. Audrey Roberts and Rita Sullivan are mentioned

Corrie stag and hen do's are weird. Where else in the world would a woman like Carla, with her designer handbags and pretensions to classiness, be having a hen night at a local boozer with her close personal friends the lady who runs the newsagents and the local hairdresser?

Liz is ...

Liz McDonald will whip up some saucy action with a male stripper.

Naughty landlady Liz ends up licking whipped cream off the hunk called Zorro. It is part of a wild hen do at the Rovers for
factory boss Carla Connor, who is marrying property developer Tony Gordon.

Liz (Bev Callard, 51) is soon smearing whipped cream over Zorro’s body before licking it off.

Then shopkeeper Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox, 74) yells: “It had better be my turn next with that whipped cream. Where are you hiding your whip?”

Hairdresser Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls, 64) asks: “Are you available for private hire, young man? If you are, consider yourself booked.”

The scenes will be shown in October in the build-up to the wedding of Carla and Tony, played by Alison King, 35, and Gray O’Brien, 39.

“More than one Rovers regular will wake up the next morning wanting to bury their head in shame,” said an insider.

CORRIE’s Michelle Keegan will get more scenes as she replaces Norris Cole in The Kabin.

The brunette, 21, who plays David Platt’s on-off lover Tina McIntyre, is set to become one of the soap’s main characters.

Originally signed up for six months, viewers will see more of her when she replaces nosey Norris after he does his back in.

A soap source said: “The character of Tina has been a phenomenal hit with the viewers. It’s a master stroke by the writers to have her taking the job in The Kabin.”

This just in! There's an interview with Michael Starke in today's Liverpool Echo and apparently he's told the reporter that Jonathan Dixon, who plays Darryl, has been given a reprieve from the total Morton departure from Coronation Street. It doesn't seem to be officially announced yet but I know one or two fans that will be chuffed by the outcome if this does turn out to be true. In the interview, Michael, who plays kebab King Jerry, is sad to be leaving the Street. He said he made some good friends and promotes Coronation Street as a great show but admits " I never felt at home on the Street."

The Morton family hasn't exactly been the hit that Corrie's producers had hoped for in the first instance. And it came as no surprise when the inevitable eventually happened.

First, Samantha Seager quit her role as Jodie Morton in July last year, while the axe fell on the rest of the doomed family in April - Mel (Emma Edmonson), Darryl (Johnny Dixon, pictured), Kayleigh (Jessica Bardon) and little Finlay (Ramone Quinn).

And to cap it all for ex-Brookside actor and head of the family Mickey Starke (Jerry Morton), he learned of his fate with the soap in a tabloid newspaper.

However, the powers that be have decided to keep Johnny Dixon on for a while longer. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Starke said: "[T]hey are now keeping Johnny and I applaud that decision. His character links in with David Platt [Jack P. Shepherd]."

Now this is true to an extent. A Corrie source confirmed to me this afternoon: "Darryl will be treading the Cobbles for a couple more months beyond the rest of his family's departure."

So it's not an indefinite extension to his contract, but it's a little longer than we - and I'm sure he - had bargained for.

I don't think I'm on my own in saying this, but ever since Corrie actually gave the Mortons a storyline, they've actually grown on me as a family unit. Granted, they're not the best in the world, but by the same token, they're not the worst.

Corrie is sizzling with super storylines this September. Kidnap, drugs busts and gang attacks. As the autumn evenings draw in, life in Weatherfield will get darker.

First we start with the poisoning plot as Teresa comes clean. How will Jerry take the news and will she stick around to face the music?

There’s more trouble ahead for the Mortons as Mel jumps into a sticky situation all guns blazing. Her friend Abi is forced to help her and ends up with devastating injuries.

Will Mel manage to put the guilt behind her – or go all out to seek revenge?

Next, two very unlikely suspects get caught up in a drugs bust, but will the police believe they are innocent?

On to steamy affairs and Carla’s been off the radar for a while as Liam and Maria make a real go of their marriage. But the saucy lingerie queen is in the mood for mischief. She manages to wheedle her way back into Liam’s life – but can he keep his hands off her and will Tony find out?

Dev’s another one playing with fire as he and Nina nearly get caught out. However, there’s a new ingredient in the mix as the shopkeeper meets his lover’s daughter…

Finally, Rosie Webster loves a bit of drama in her life, but even she would draw the line at what’s in store for her…
