Leannes Deep Debt
Leanne - played by 28-year-old Jane Danson - causes friction between the couple when Roger demands she pay him back the money he loaned her to buy her restaurant.
Roger and Janice are enjoying a free meal at Valandro's when Leanne asks him to help fix a leak in the toilets.
But both women are shocked when plumber Roger, played by newcomer Andrew Dunn, fixes the problem, only to present Leanne with a bill for the work he has done.
Janice - played by Vicky Entwistle - confronts him, but he explains that Leanne's failure to pay him back means he desperately needs the cash.
Leanne was due to begin repaying the loan last month, but failed to meet her first repayment after struggling to make a success of her new business venture.
Roger originally leant Leanne the money to help win favour with Janice, her former stepmother.
But after Leanne goes more than two months without returning a penny of the money Roger's patience finally cracks.
Poor Leanne

I saw mondays hes a physco isnt he?Planning to kill his mum grandma and jasons girlfriend.
Roger's definitely got some hidden agenda with this Janice/Leanne thing. There's something not right about him. Why would you give someone you barely know ten thousand pounds?

Nah that was denied by ITV.com
I think we might have a seriel killer on our hands.
Scarlett.
22-08-2007, 06:13 PM
No wonder he went off the rails, seiral killer step dad, dad slept with girl about 4 or 5 years older than him, dad runs off to Liverpool with another woman, then has a baby,
sounds like a recipie for a seiral killer...
Martin didn't go to Liverpool did he? I might be wrong he went somewhere else. I'm lovin' tonights episode. I say scrap the Leanne storyline and scrap the Ashley storyline.:bored: I don't really think the Ashley one is belivable. He wouldn't do that.
What was he doing with those papers?

yeah Martin went to Liverpool
I like how David has stopped calling his mum 'Mum' and now calls her Gail
it shows he doesnt think of the Platts as his family anymore
Aye, he needs to go to a mental institution. Or at least some form of counselling.
Scarlett.
22-08-2007, 07:11 PM
councilling doesnt work, rerember, he just thinks its funny or he uses it against his family
Oh yeah, it was a disaster when Gail tried it with the whole family. :laugh2:

Nothing goes right with that family.
All the relationships they make fail:
Sarah and Neil Ferns: Bethany
David and Mel
Gail and Martin
Gail and Richard
Gail and Phil
Gail and David
They've been driven into a canal and nearly died, Sarah had a baby at 13, nothing goes right. I bet there's more.

1 thing about Davids result, he burnt the paper
I think he wrote the result up
I wouldn't put it past him. I wouldn't put anything past that psycho.
I dunno how this story line is going to end up, but it's bound to be some sort of tragedy.
Have you any ideas?
Scarlett.
22-08-2007, 07:38 PM
Theres that fake suicide, but I dont think thats the end of it, he gets his way back into the family
Keep you freinds close, keep your enemies closer

Im gonna miss good old Vera
Aye twill be sad to see her go.
How's that storyline going to pan out?
Scarlett.
22-08-2007, 08:05 PM
Dont know that either
it has been suggested they will move out into the suburbs
so Jack can stay, also so that Vera can still make guest apperances
That's good, I'm glad they're not killing her out.
There seems to be a lot of excitig storylines coming up now soon.
Corrie's great at the moment! ;)
I can't wait until Sarah and Jason's wedding.

Tut Rovers wouldn't be t' same without the shabby stain-ridden walls. :P

I thought he was going to pull another prank on Jason at the start of that roof scene. I thought he'd tell Jason that he was born female or something, and knowing thick Jason, he would have believed him.

Aye, he was a good actor and still is, but at the moment they seem to be struggling to find him storylines. I mean they only throw him in on the very minor storylines for one episode and then he won't be seen then for ages.

If you thought August was full of action on the Street, wait until you get into September.
We have just learnt that Hayley has a son and is about to enlist a private detective to find him.
Roy is still in the dark over his wife’s past, but when her son – Christian – comes to the Street, all will be revealed.
Not only will Hayley struggle to build bridges with her son – as you may have seen in some recent snaps of a bloodied Hayley – her marriage to Roy also hits the rocks.
Norris continues to sulk over his marriage rejection and faces up to the single life. Neighbour Claire Peacock feels just as glum after Ashley’s admission that he had an affair with Casey.
Will the troubled mother find it in her heart to forgive Ashley? We can’t imagine anybody else would have him, so let’s hope she’s the forgiving sort. Something tells us it'll take an awful lot of chocolates and flowers to mend their relationship this time.
As for David Platt, as soon as we think he can’t get much worse, the terrible teen proves us wrong again. This time, however, he plays a dangerous game when he hides an ecstasy tablet in Bethany's doll and she swallows it.
Will Gail finally see David for what he is and chuck him out? Or will he wrap her around his little finger once again?
Meanwhile, love could be in the air for us female fans when Underworld gets a visit from a sexy catalogue rep – Tony Gordon - played by the gorgeous Gray O’Brien.
Tony appears on our screens at the end of September and soon takes the fancy of boss Carla, despite Paul being still warm in his grave.
But he’s not the only one who begins to develop feelings for the factory stunner and her other admirer is a lot closer to home than you could imagine...
Finally, Cilla eventually returns from Las Vegas with Frank while Sally starts to have feelings for another man. Can anyone guess who it might be?

You can say one thing for Leanne Battersby, she leads an eventful life. And things look like they're going to keep her on her toes when armed raiders break into the restuarant and threaten her with a knife. The Daily Star reports that two armed hoodlums come looking for Paul Clayton and threaten Leanne when she can't tell them where he is. They turn up later looking for Paul at the Duckworth's house and Tyrone lies and says Paul no longer lives there. It sounds to me like Paul Clayton's past is catching him up and bringing misery to those around him too.

CORRIE favourite Bradley Walsh has been axed from the soap after a bitter bustup with show bosses.
The popular actor was set for an explosive return this autumn as bedhopper Danny Baldwin.
But in a shock turn of events bosses blocked his comeback because Bradley said he could only spare six weeks due to panto work.
Corrie execs were said to be furious that Bradley, 47, snubbed the mega-bucks return to star in Aladdin in Milton
Keynes, Bucks.
And a show insider suggested the real reason Bradley refused the offer was to get back at ITV bosses over his scrapped chat show and delayed dramas.
Speaking from the Edinburgh festival, our source said: “Bradley originally took a year off from Coronation Street to concentrate on a chat show and star in two dramas.
“He had proved a massive success on the show and wanted to capitalise on it.
“But he was left fuming when his pilot show was canned in favour of fellow Corrie star Antony Cotton.”
Antony, who plays Sean Tully, now has a daily talk programme.
The source added: “Bradley had also been promised two big drama leads but so far both of them have failed to start production and he feels totally let down by ITV bosses.”
Stand-up comedian Bradley left Corrie last year when his character Danny discovered his wife Frankie, played by Debra Stephenson, was in love with his son.
But rumours at the time were rife that he was having an affair with Debra, 35.
The couple later admitted to becoming “too close” and Bradley has since spent the entire summer in Portugal repairing the damage to his marriage.
The source added: “Corrie boss Steve Frost thought it was the perfect time to bring Bradley back into the show.
“But when Bradley said he could only spare six weeks they decided it just wasn’t long enough. Corrie bosses are
furious over the way he has messed them around and will not commit for longer.
“They are so irate that they have scrapped all plans to bring him back. No one actor is bigger than the show and it seems that Bradley’s character has reached the end of the road.”
Bradley has got over his alleged marriage problems by spending summer with choreographer wife Donna, 38,
and son Barney, eight.
A pal said: “They are stronger than ever but the family don’t need Coronation Street."
Although, someone told me Steve Frost said on 'This Morning' that there were no current plans to bring Danny back, so the fall out may be a lie

Harveys, the UK’s biggest specialist furniture retailer, has signed a 2 year deal with ITV to sponsor Britain’s longest running soap Coronation Street. The deal was officially signed on Monday 2nd July.
The fully integrated sponsorship package includes all episodes of Coronation Street on ITV1 and ITV2 as well as interactive, mobile, the brand new broadband section on itv.com and off-air licensing and merchandising. So far this year Coronation Street has attracted an average audience of 10.6m and a 46% share of viewing, peaking with 13.1 million viewers*.
Ian Topping, Chief Executive of Harveys parent company, Steinhoff UK, comments: “This is the most prestigious sponsorship deal within British television and we feel it is a great strategic step for us in our quest to become the UK’s favourite furniture retailer. The sponsorship deal is a perfect brand fit for Harveys.”
Michael Grade, Executive Chairman of ITV said: “Coronation Street remains the largest and most important programme brand on British Television and we're delighted to welcome Harveys as our new commercial partner.”
The new Harvey’s sponsorship will be screened from October 2007.

Coronation Street cast and crew were celebrating again last night after scooping an amazing four awards at the TV Choice and TV Quick Awards.
Corrie won the coveted Best Soap gong, while Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw, won Best Actress and Kym Ryder, who plays Michelle Connor, won Best Newcomer.
The gripping plot involving Tracy Barlow murdering Charlie Stubbs was named the year's Best Soap Storyline.
This is Corrie's second Best Soap victory after it took home the same trophy at this year's British Soap Awards in the spring.
Last night's awards were decided by TV Quick and TV Choice magazine readers.

It has been a good year for Corrie, and it won't be the same without the Cadbury's sponsorship. :bawl:
Scarlett.
04-09-2007, 11:05 AM
I wonder what Harveys sponsorship will look like (I bet the street get some new couches)
No they're not allowed to advertise the sponsorship brand on the actual show in this country. That's what would happen in America though.
In America they'd all use the Harvey's Brand and mention it all the time to advertise during the show.
But that's never been allowed to happen in this country because of the BBC's strict rules.
But still I prefer Cadbury's sponsorship, they've always done it. I liked the chocolate street advert at the start in 1999.
Scarlett.
04-09-2007, 11:15 AM
but the current Cadburys adverts are annoying
The current ones are annoying but I'm sure they would have changed them in 2008 if Cabury's continued advertising with them.
Some of them have been great in the past.
Scarlett.

Plus I have access to the ITV Press Site
Danny B. Returning afterall?
A report in the Daily Star Sunday claiming that Coronation Street bosses have cancelled Bradley Walsh's return to the show is (surprisingly) inaccurate.
From what I hear, execs have definitely bandied around storylines involving the comic's character, Danny Baldwin, but there just haven't been any firm opportunities for Bradley to take a break from his other ongoing work with ITV.
A Street source told me: "We've seen storylines up until January and Bradley's character Danny won't be appearing in any scripts."
They added: "But if a storyline is suggested involving him, we'll always check to see if he's available. If he's not, we'll can the idea until a new opportunity presents itself."
Never say never, I say.
If you think about it, the chances are that he'll make his Weatherfield comeback at around the same time as the departure of his on-screen son, Jamie (Rupert Hill)...
A bit of a big hint if you ask me
Scarlett.
