I'm going to stalk you Chewy. x3 Argh!!! LOL
I know in 2010, Corrie will have ran for half a century
i wonder when corrie is 50 if they'll do another live episode like they did for the 40th, i thought that was really good. I think so, and they will probably do a whole lot more
i hope so lol like some huge celebration.... maybe they could open up the street for a little while for fans to go.. probably won't happen but would be great

Whens Ashley gonna change the Butchers name?
its still down as "Elliott and Sons" lol
Dunno. Blanche will probably say something about the sign and then it'll be changed. It'll probably happen in the typically slow Sunday episodes.

Yeah she mentioned another sign before. I can't remember where it was though.
Do you think that Sunday episodes are normally quite slow? There seems to be a lot of scenes around Roy's Rolls and the Rovers.
Scarlett.
03-11-2007, 08:27 PM
Yeah, but its because its sunday, not much else happens
K but it's a soap. They could make anything happen whenever they want.
Scarlett.
03-11-2007, 08:32 PM
Lol true, The Peacock fire was on a sunday
Scarlett.
03-11-2007, 08:38 PM
I wonder when their next fire is?
Well generally speaking they're quite slow.
I have no idea where the next fire will be. Doubtlessly it will be quite soon.
Scarlett.
03-11-2007, 08:45 PM
I bet it will be at NYE, at The Rovers, when Liz and Vernon are getting married
(The set has already been confirmed to be given a re-vamp)
Dizzy
03-11-2007, 08:57 PM
What've I missed?
Sorry I was watching Top Gear then I watched Have I Got News For You, now I'm watching um... nothing. xD LOL.
Ooh thaht should be interesting. Yet another fire on the Street.
Oh right, it actually makes sense. So the revamp will be after the fire?
Nowt much Dizzy. Just crap about Corrie tbh.
Scarlett.
03-11-2007, 09:00 PM
[[you didnt miss much Dizzy :D]]
The fire isnt confirmed its just my theory, but it fits
I thought a firework is shot into the Rovers would make sense
Scarlett.

JIM SPOILER
Ooh, those Corrie scriptwriters are spiteful so-and-sos. They’re planning to make fiery Jim “What’s the craic?” McDonald walk back into Weatherfield shoeless when he returns later this year. Soap fans learned last week that Jim has been released early on licence from his eight-year jail term for murdering drug dealer Jez Quigley. But while he’s been staying in a bail hostel, he has his shoes half-inched by another ex-con.
A sheepish Jim is forced to return to the Street in his socks to beg for help from Weatherfield’s answer to Alan Sugar, cab boss Steve. Wracked with guilt about his dad’s plight, Steve gives Jim a full-time job as a cleaner.
But Jim’s presence on the Street prompts ex-wife Liz to realise she still has feelings for him – even though she’s planning to tie the knot on New Year’s Eve with Rovers cellar-man Vernon. “Despite their volatile relationship, in which he handed out severe beatings to his wife, Jim has never stopped loving Liz,” revealed an insider. “He would do anything for her if she would give him another chance.”
Viewers will see cleavage queen Liz wrestle with her conscience as she tries to decide whether to give her ex another chance or go ahead with the wedding and put the past behind her.

Good fire theory, and I'm keeping my eye off this Jim spoiler.

STREET MADE BRUCE A BULLYING MONSTER
STREET MADE MY HUSBAND A BULLYING MONSTER
Exclusive by David Jeffs, Assistant Editor
The wife of sacked Coronation Street star Bruce Jones has revealed how her marriage turned into a nightmare after years of physical and mental abuse from the drunk hellraiser.
Speaking for the first time about her stormy 24 years with the man known to millions of soap fans as loud-mouthed lout Les Battersby, Sandra Jones confessed: "Corrie turned him into an absolute monster.
"I really hated him for what he had become. The physical and mental abuse I suffered drove me to the brink of a breakdown. Lesser women would have crumbled.
"It would get to the point where I would shake like a leaf with fear when I heard him put the key in the door after a long night down the pub. What kind of marriage is that?"
Sandra, 53, revealed how her harddrinking husband:
Flew into violent rages after long boozy sessions in the pub with mates.
Terrified her so much she walked out on their marriage twice in the middle of the night to flee his foul temper.
Humiliated her with a string of cruel insults despite Sandra staying loyally by his side.
Drove her on to anti-depressants to cope with his wild mood swings.
Speaking candidly about Bruce, 54, who played layabout Les for 10 years until he was dumped last summer following a booze and racism scandal, Sandra said: "Basically I was married to the real-life Les Battersby during his time in the show.
"After work he'd be straight down the pub and that's when problems started.
"Some nights he wouldn't come home until the early hours. Like the loyal or perhaps foolish wife I'd stay up and wait for him and that's when he'd kick off in true Battersby style.
"Once through the door all his aggression and stress would explode.
He would use any excuse to start a fight with me - complain about the food I'd cooked for him or the state of the house.
"Usually he'd start pushing and shoving me with his breath stinking of booze.
"On other occasions he'd grab my arm tightly and start shaking me as I tried to calm him down. I could see the wild rage and anger in his eyes.
"It was like he was a man possessed.
A couple of times he's punched me on the side of the head when he's been out of it on booze.
"They weren't hard punches but heavy enough to make my head spin. Next day he would remember nothing about it.
"Once Bruce clipped me on the face with his hands and I went running into another room and locked the door to get away from him I was that scared.
"I would only come out when he had calmed down or collapsed on the bed.
"Another thing he liked to do was throw stuff around the house, books, cups, you name it.
"When he was like this I could feel my whole body convulsing with fear. The next morning of course it was like the real Bruce I'd first met and fallen in love with had come back to me.
"He'd be all sweetness and light, begging for forgiveness."
During his decade in the show, the twice-married father of four was dogged with stories of his heavy drinking.
A year after joining the show he pleaded guilty to drink driving after being found more than twice over the limit.
Previously convicted of the same offence in 1992, he was banned from driving for three years. And in 2000 he spent three weeks in rehab at The Priory where he confessed to turning to the bottle to deal with the pressures of being one of Britain's most recognisable soap stars.
Earlier this year Bruce, who earned £120,000 a year, admitted: "The pressure the show put me and my marriage under is huge. If Sandra had had her way, I would have left the show five years ago."
Sandra, speaking at their smart home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, agreed. She said: "Coronation Street turned Bruce into a bullying control freak.
"He simply wasn't prepared for the level of attention and pressure he would be put under.
"Ok, he was earning great money and had all the trappings of fame but it was destroying the marriage I had worked so hard at.
"I hated him for the way he had become. I begged him to quit but at the same time I also knew he loved the job.
"A lot of my friends have told me I was mad to stick by him especially when I ran off to stay with them my face red raw with tears after yet another late night bust-up.
"On two occasions I walked out in the middle of the night still in my night-dress to escape his foul temper.
"If he wasn't getting physically abusive he'd stand in front of me saying things with a cruel sneer like 'What am I doing with someone like you', or 'You are not worthy of me'."
And in a further twist of the knife he'd torment Sandra with boasts about all the women who wanted to have sex with him.
"Bruce would say things like he could have any bird he wanted and why was he hanging around with someone like me."
Twice-married Sandra herself saw the effect his soap fame had on women.
She recalled: "Once we were doing a personal appearance in a club in Sheffield and I heard two girls in their twenties say in front of me, 'I'm going to have Bruce's babies'.
"Women would throw themselves at him all the time because of who he was. Let's face it, if he wasn't a famous soap star women wouldn't give him a second glance."
After Bruce came out of The Priory, Sandra begged him to seek marriage guidance but he refused.
His wife said: "Bruce didn't think there was a problem but I was close to a breakdown, depressed and on antidepressants.
"When he wasn't working or drinking he'd be sitting around the house like a zombie refusing to do everyday things like shopping and housework."
But following Bruce's shock dismissal from the Street in May, the couple are now trying to rebuild their marriage.
Sandra said: "He still likes a drink but nothing like on the scale he used to. We are more like a normal married couple again." Bruce told The People: "Lesser women would have walked out on me long ago. I wasn't proud of the way I was then.
"Sandra wouldn't know what mood I would be coming home in and I wouldn't know myself.
"I wouldn't say I was physically abusive. It was a just a 'get out of my way' kind of thing because I wanted to be on my own. I'd just push her away.
"I hated myself sometimes and would wake up in the morning questioning myself 'Why?' "
Bruce stars in Jack and the Beanstalk next month in Westonsuper-Mare and intends to take Sandra with him for the duration of the panto. He said: "We are going to be staying in a hotel together.
"I've got a lot of making up to do to Sandra after everything that has gone on. The Les Battersby of old both on and off the camera is a thing of the past, I promise."
Sandra added: "I hope my story gives other women who find themselves in my situation hope.
"Bruce now knows if he ever turns back to his old ways our marriage will be history for good.
"Leaving Corrie was the best thing to happen to us."

"Leaving Corrie was the best thing to happen to us."
o.O!! Woah... That must've been scary for Sandra.
Aye to think I used to like Les
Scarlett.

Christmas this year should be just pure comedy, no violence or dramatic twists, just comedy, I'd prefer it as comedy. =D
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 02:08 PM
Aye, I mean EE are having a death and a explosion, they are going overboard
Corrie meanwhile are just having normal storylines
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 02:15 PM
Another storyline could be Dev trying to cook a turkey, with salad cream and scotch eggs
Dizzy
04-11-2007, 02:17 PM
Oh, come on.. That's stupid! I mean, last year EastEnders had a death... And then one christmas Dennis was stabbed, it's stupid.
I'm glad no deaths or anything are happening in Corrie thought =)
LOL - that'd be a good comedy storyline, rofl!!
A lot of people must love violence and death because EE always draws in a big crowd =/
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 02:20 PM
I know
Dennis-2005
Pauline-2006
???-2007
its just ridiculous, Corrie Christmas day epiosdes are special, not just another episode with a murder, thats why Corrie had Charlie murdered in January not at Christmas
Dizzy
04-11-2007, 02:26 PM
This year it'll probably Phil or someone... =/
Yeah, I would've hated it if Charlie was murdered at christmas.
EastEnders have a habit of making christmas really miserable and violent.
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 02:29 PM
I know, the worse thing that happened in Corrie was Maureen finding out about Bill's affair, but that was hilarious

Bradley Walsh gained an army of fans thanks to his cheeky-chappy role as Danny Baldwin on ITV1 soap Coronation Street.
However, the actor and comedian is about to take a step in a very different direction.
His latest project, the drama Kommandant, set in Colditz Prisoner of War camp, sees him play an army officer.
A source close to Walsh said: "It's a very serious role for Bradley - quite a new direction. He's thrilled."
But will it keep him away from Weatherfield's cobbles even longer?

Oh, sounds interesting.
Shame he isn't coming back to Corrie just yet... hope he does soon though
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 03:00 PM
He will return, its just a matter of when, Corrie boosted his career a lot, so its natural for him to return
Dizzy
04-11-2007, 03:14 PM
Yep!
Wonder what sort of storylines he'll have when he comes back...

Alison King was banned from watching TV as a child.
The 'Coronation Street' star - who has appeared in several TV shows before taking the role of The Street's Carla Connor - didn't watch any shows growing up after her parents got rid of their TV set.
Alison, 34, revealed to Britain's Inside Soap magazine: "My parents threw out the TV when I was eight. They just thought there was too much sex and violence on the box."
Not having her own TV didn't stop the soap star becoming a TV sex symbol when she got older, but Alison insists she was not always beautiful.
She said: "I was an ugly child. One day I was riding my sister's bicycle and a boy shouted, 'Look, there's a monkey on a bike!' "

PLATT'S ALL FOLKS
The battle of the soap weddings was won hands down by East Enders this week.
Local bike Stacey Slater finally wed her man (without him finding out she'd been knocking off his dad). It was classic Enders drama - and is set to get rockier after Max and Stacey were secretly taped talking about their affair. While Corrie's Jason and Sarah Lou wedding was good, it was too predictable. David Platt tried to ruin it by faking a suicide. (Shame he failed.) Apart from the excellent car-into-the-canal crash, it fell flatter than an X Factor reject.

The ratings show Corrie was the clear winner, the EE wedding was crap, face it

LoL, that was a classic exit, I think most people leave Corrie in a cab though.
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 11:00 PM
but hers was special, with the snow, the band actually playing the theme tune to Corrie outside the pub, and Christmas eve was fantastic that year
Oh I know, there was a load going on I remember. I loved the part where Steve found the burning car and we all though caron and Amy were in it.

Coronation Street's Tina O'Brien says her need for a change was behind her decision to leave the top soap.
Her character, Sarah Platt, will depart for Italy over Christmas and Tina told whatsontv.co.uk at the National TV Awards that she's looking forward to new experiences.
"I've been there for eight years, and eight years in the same job is a long time for anyone... I feel like, even though I might go and do something that's not as successful, at least I'll be doing something different, for myself, so I can do things that make me feel it's a bit new."
But she's made sure she hasn't burnt her bridges - a return at some stage is on her agenda. "It's definitely something that I'd never cross off. I've really enjoyed Coronation Street. I'd be a fool to say that I wouldn't be happy to go back!"
Tina was escorted by off-screen boyfriend Ryan Thomas, who plays her on-screen partner Jason Grimshaw, and he said the couple definitely leave their break-up traumas behind when they're off set...

LoL, I think it's safe to say that that's the most Wintery one you've had :P
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 11:12 PM
Yup! I wonder why Sarah leaves for Italy?
Hmmmms, I haven't watched the episode yet. I'm taping it just now on itv2 so I'll be watching it in a mo. I just feel sorry for her though. I'm amazed after everything that's happened, David suddenly gets preferential treatmen. FFS, lil brat!
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 11:17 PM
Lol I know, it looks like the rumor of Sarah planting drugs in David room is true
(Sarah doesnt leave til Christmas Day)
Serves him right I say. I mean, I've felt sorry for David in the past, but recent events have just made me hate him and feel sorry for Sarah. What the hell were his motives really for destroying her wedding, he's a twisted lil sack of ****, a great character though ;P
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 11:24 PM
She got all the attention when he was growing up, what with Bethany being born, who is 8 years younger than him (I think)
No excuse LoL, he's always been a brat.
Scarlett.
04-11-2007, 11:33 PM
True even in that 40th Anniversary vid you can see that
Oh forgot to mention, Sarah planting the drugs ruins Gails plans for Davids holiday to Italy

Oh yeah, double episode too =) I doubt there'll be much to do with it being bonfire night though.
Scarlett.
05-11-2007, 05:01 PM
Aye, although alot of the Street will be there
I think it'll probably be a more light hearted episode compared to last week allthough I might be wrong :P I'm loving the John/Websters stroyline atm, I think it's one of the best we've had from them in ages and it's nice to see Sally getting a big one for a change.
Scarlett.
05-11-2007, 05:07 PM
Yeah, the main part of tonight will be
David burning Sarah's wedding dress
also Finlay Morton is rushed to hospital
Thanks for spoiling it btw but I won't be reading it, I like the suprise. Were do you get all this news from anyway? =)
Scarlett.
05-11-2007, 05:11 PM
All over
its not such a big episode tonight, but it should be good
Have you noticed episode follow a certain pattern depending on what day of the week it lands on;
Monday- The big storyline.
Wednesday- The aftermath of Monday.
Friday- Brings the week to an end somewhat.
Sunday- Always quite quiet mainly with minor scenes with alot happening in the caf.

Violet and Jamie kiss and make up and that, says Coronation Street star Jenny Platt, leaves Sean out in the cold!
Jamie and Violet are getting back together. What happens? "It's been a gradual build-up. They've been friends again for a while and are enjoying each other's company."
But then it becomes something more, right? "One evening Jamie turns up at the pub ready to go out on the pull with his mates. He and Violet get chatting and he ends up staying with her until closing. He goes to kiss her goodbye and suddenly it gets very passionate!"
Has she always loved him? "Yes, she has. I think he feels the same and accepts he was in a bad state of mind when all the Frankie stuff happened. I think he has since regretted that he ever let Violet go."
So where does that leave Violet and Sean and their baby? "Not looking good the way Sean's behaving. He's being a total idiot. Violet discovers he's told everyone the sex of her baby after going behind her back to his boyfriend Marcus who did the scan. Violet didn't want to know the baby's sex and she's livid."
What does she do? "She tells Sean that it's her baby and not his!"
That wasn't the original deal between them though was it? "They didn't really make a deal. Basically Violet wanted a sperm donor and Sean said it would be better if she had a baby with somebody she knew. To her mind the idea was never that they'd be a family unit."
That doesn't seem to have been Sean's understanding... "Sean wants to be involved, but Violet thinks that if he's going to be like this during the pregnancy he'll be a nightmare once the child is born. But Sean is adamant - he wants to be a father."
Does she really mean it when she tells him it's 'her' baby? "It's said in the heat of the moment and she does calm down a bit afterwards. But the truth is she doesn't want him to be a hands-on dad."
How will he feel when he finds out Jamie and Violet are back together? "Not happy. He'll see Jamie as a threat, somebody who will be stepping into his role as a father."
Will Violet want Jamie to be involved with the baby? "I'm sure she will. She's glad to have somebody on her side."
Can she still be friends with Sean? "She always forgives Sean, but whether or not they can stay friends depends on how Sean behaves. If he were cool about things there wouldn't be a problem!"
