Liam and Tony are eventually left on their own when everyone disappears. The final ending is a hit and run that Tony's set up."
Interesting, I don't think it will be the paintball because there would be too many questions needed answering and there would be a suspect among the men taking part. Whereas with the hit and run it could be a random person and the balcony could be an accident or suicide attempt so less needs to be cleared up to the police

The bloke Tony was on the phone to could have something to do with the Paintball (like making it look like some kinda accident)

Fans could soon be sitting down to a meal of Betty’s hotpot with a pint of Newton and Ridley’s ale, wearing Underworld’s finest lingerie
ITV is looking into developing brand ideas including Newton and Ridley beer and Underworld knickers.
The ideas were presented to the manufacturing industry at a licensing show.
An ITV spokesman said the company was looking into developing the brand ideas.

Its quite a good idea, apparently its to tie in with the 50th Anniversary year
Scarlett.
14-10-2008, 04:29 PM
ITV is to launch a new range of Coronation Street-related products to tie in with the show's 50th anniversary next year.
Rumoured brand extensions include Corrie-themed restaurants, tea sets and Underworld lingerie.
Re-opening the set at Granada Studios in Manchester for behind-the-scenes tours could also be on the cards, and may tie in with ITV's 'agreed' plans to move to Salford's mediacity:uk. The move may involve rebuilding a replica of one of Britain's most well-known streets.
Commercial brand director Gustavo Antonioni told MediaGuardian: "This is a huge change for ITV, but it is not just about the money. It is about how you grow the brand over the long term. This isn't about going out there and licensing the heck out of things.
"Our business is about creating a TV commercial that is aired a couple of times a week that people can engage with. There are going to be several events throughout the year to celebrate the anniversary."
He added: "These will include a combination of tapping into past talent as well as celebrations for viewers. The UK is our biggest market right now, but we can take [the range of spinoffs] wherever we sell the show."
Earlier this month, ITV reportedly held talks with around 250 potential manufacturers. Brands already linked with the venture include Hovis and Marmite.
The commercial broadcaster has already trademarked 'Newton and Ridley', Weatherfield's fictional ale, and has also designed a logo featuring the iconic flying ducks which adorned Hilda Ogden's (Jean Alexander) wall.
Next month, Granada Ventures is to release Coronation Street: Out Of Africa, a 90-minute spinoff DVD which sees Wendi Peters return as loudmouth Cilla Battersby-Brown.
Meanwhile, a similar range of products is being planned for Emmerdale and will reportedly include Woolpack-branded drinks, a gardening club and a clothing range

ITV is to cash in on the popularity of Coronation Street by launching a range of spin-off products, such as Newton & Ridley beer and Rovers Return pub grub, that could make it millions of pounds.
The commercial broadcaster, which has announced it is to cut nearly 1,000 jobs because of the economic downturn, is developing a wide range of brand extensions of the popular soap in the runup to its 50th anniversary in 2010.
ITV has already trademarked Newton & Ridley, the fictional beer served in the Rovers Return pub, in preparation for its use on a range of products and also plans Corrie-themed restaurants, tea sets and clothing lines.
A range of underwear bearing the name of the Coronation Street factory, Underworld, is also in the pipeline.
ITV held talks with nearly 250 potential manufacturers at an industry licensing show at the beginning of the month, and the first products are expected in the shops in the middle of next year.
Brands also linked to Coronation Street products include Hovis and Marmite.
"This is a huge change for ITV, but it is not just about the money. It is about how you grow the brand over the long term," said Gustavo Antonioni, the commercial brands director at ITV Global Entertainment.
Speaking to MediaGuardian.co.uk at the Mipcom international programming market in Cannes, he added: "This isn't about going out there and licensing the heck out of things."
Spin-offs are also planned from ITV rural soap Emmerdale such as Woolpack-branded drinks, named after the show's pub, a gardening club and clothing ranges.
Antonioni, who previously worked for Warner Bros and Disney, said ITV had to see the soaps as commercials from which to make money.
"Our business is about creating a TV commercial that is aired a couple of times a week that people can engage with," he added.
ITV is also planning a series of events in the runup to Coronation Street's 50th anniversary in December 2010.
The broadcaster has even created a logo featuring the famous flying ducks that graced much-loved character Hilda Ogden's front room.
"There are going to be several events throughout the year to celebrate the anniversary," Antonioni said.
"These will include a combination of tapping into past talent as well as celebrations for viewers."
In addition to the launch of spin-off products, ITV is also planning to reopen the Coronation Street set in Manchester to the public with behind-the-scenes tours.
Antonioni said that ITV also had global plans for Coronation Street spin-offs.
"The UK is our biggest market right now, but we can take this [the range of spin-offs] wherever we sell the show," he added.
Meanwhile, ITV is to release a new 90-minute episode of the soap on DVD featuring characters Cilla and Les in South Africa.
The DVD special is due to hit shops in early December in time for the Christmas market.

A new sexy lady will soon be keeping the regulars on their toes at the Rovers.
Stunning Indian actress Sophiya Haque has been cast as the 51st Coronation Street barmaid.
Sophiya starts filming at the end of this month and will be seen on screen at the end of November.
Her character Poppy is a friend of Liz McDonald. Liz puts Michelle Connor’s nose out of joint when she appoints Poppy as assistant manager of the Rovers.
A Coronation Street spokesperson said: “Poppy is feisty and fun and will keep the men of Weatherfield on their toes.”
Sophiya rose to fame as a host on pop music channels in India including MTV Asia. A career in Bollywood films followed and she has also starred in the hit West End musical Bombay Dreams.
She's the second Bollywood actress to be cast on the cobbles. Ayesha Dharker plays Dev's latest love interest Tara Mandal.

GRIEF-STRICKEN Carla Connor calls off her wedding to the Street’s Tony Gordon next week as she mourns the loss of lover Liam.
The murderous plans of twisted Tony (Gray O’Brien) backfire after he bumps off his love rival only for Carla (Alison King) to jilt him at the last minute.
Distraught over her brother-in-law’s death, she tells Tony she can’t go through with the wedding. With Liam’s blood still fresh on his hands, Tony is desperate to marry Carla. He even calls the vicar to help persuade her to become his wife.
The storyline is already a massive hit. Monday’s show pulled in a peak of 10.4million viewers. Viewers can see Tony finally bump off Liam, on Friday at 7.30pm on ITV1.
Scarlett.
15-10-2008, 01:43 PM
Since arriving on the cobbled streets of Coronation Street last year, Tony Gordon has caused a stir amongst the Weatherfield residents.
However, the businessman is about to play his dirtiest trick yet when he puts an end to his fiancée Carla's affair with Liam Connor.
In real life, actor Gray O'Brien reveals what it is like to play the ITV1 soap's bad guy.
Warning: The following interview may contain spoilers.
How has the reaction to your character been so far?
I was worried when I heard the storyline. I was worried that I was going to be the most hated man in soap, but I think you'll agree after watching it there's two sides to this.
I don't know what will happen on Friday. I'm not going to be in the country, so we'll see what happens. I expect to get a bit of stick for it, but I think there's an interest in Tony because he's not just the villain.
There's other sides to him and the onion starts to unpeel and I think the audience are interested in seeing the unravelling of Tony and that's the fun part to play.
Liam Connor (Rob James-Collier) and Carla Connor (Alison King)
Carla and Liam have been having an affair behind Tony's back
You filmed three endings - why?
Because of the press interest. We tried to keep it to ourselves because every time we turn up at a location there are people waiting for us and it's always revealed the next day, so it's just a way to keep it guarded.
What is it like being part of such a huge storyline?
It's actually just being involved in Coronation Street as a whole, it's great to be involved in this iconic show. I don't think it really matters what role you play - to be part of it is a great honour.
To be at the forefront of it is quite daunting though, but it's been really exciting too.
How many people have you told what really happens?
I haven't told anybody. I've absolutely kept it under my hat. I don't have anything to gain by telling anyone, because it ruins it.
I just had my mother on the phone saying 'why don't you tell us?'
Did you know when you accepted the role the storyline would develop like this?
Tony and Liam
Three different endings of Liam's murder have been shot
Coming in to play the Coronation Street villain has a life span, so I was aware of that.
I knew he was going to be villainous, but I think it was all based on audience reaction that they liked him and the writers just went with it. So it's been a really organic process, I don't think I expected this to happen, quite as it has happened.
I think it's certainly going to play on till next year, but I don't know how long for. I was aware that I wasn't coming in for 20 years on the street, that was never the case.
Do you have any ideas as to what should happen to Tony?
None at all, I've just spent three hours on the train with the producer and she wasn't giving anything away.
I've dropped a few hints. Obviously he's got to come to an end, and whether that will be a grisly end or whatever, I don't know.
I've got great faith in the writers at Coronation Street and entrust that they'll keep the momentum with the character going.
He's a great character to play and he's popular so I do trust whichever way it ends will be the correct ending.
Gray O'Brien was speaking to BBC entertainment reporter Fiona Pryor.
The denouement to the Liam, Carla and Tony storyline is on ITV1 on Friday 17 October from 1930 BST.

Coronation Street's David Platt looks set to return to his bad boy ways when his jailbird friend joins him in Weatherfield.
Twisted David, who is played by Jack P Shepherd, palled up with Graeme Proctor (Craig Gazey) when they were behind bars together.
And the Daily Star says the character - who will arrive in a stolen car - is being brought back.
A source told the paper: "Graeme will not be an out-and-out bad lad.
"He will just be easily led and confused between right and wrong."
But the insider added that the troubled partners in crime will "get involved in all sorts of low level dodgy dealings" in upcoming scenes in the ITV soap.

A bit more news now on what we can expect when David Platt's old cellmate Graeme (Craig Gazey) looks him up soon.
We've already heard about him and David stealing a car, though the Daily Star today reckons that Graeme shows up in the car to begin with and asks David to hide it in Gail's garage.
Apparently Graeme is set to be in the Street for quite a while (hurrah!), and the Star's Corrie mole says, "Graeme will not be an out-and-out bad lad. He'll just be easily led and confused between right and wrong. He'll definitely have a soft side, and the writers have also been told he must also have a wicked sense of humour."
He soon gets himself a job when Ashley takes him on at the butcher's (presumably having been penniless a while ago, Ashley is now bucking economic trends). "I've always wanted to butch," is his plea for employment.

Tonight’s the night Tony Gordon kills his love rival Liam Connor – but no one knows how he does it.
Three endings for Liam’s death have been filmed – but only one will be broadcast on ITV1.
However Corrie lovers don’t despair, you’ll be able to watch all three murders exclusively on itv.com right after the show with a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how they were filmed.
Will Tony shoot Liam dead, have him killed in a hit and run or push him from a balcony at Victoria Court?
Come back later to watch all three dramatic versions.
For now, say goodbye to Liam by visiting his departure lounge where you can watch his best clips. Also watch tributes from the cast, download your very own creepy murder mask and lots more, on our Liam Murder Special page.

Helen Flanagan has admitted that she felt nervous when Coronation Street producers started to offer her grittier storylines.
The 18-year-old's character Rosie Webster has been pushed to the forefront with a number of dramatic plots on the ITV1 soap in recent years.
In 2007, Rosie was seen starting an affair with her teacher, John Stape (Graeme Hawley). More recently, the teen has disappeared in mysterious circumstances.
"It can be hard to get your head around it sometimes. I was a little bit jittery and I suppose it was difficult to take on at first," Helen told the Belfast Telegraph. "But I think it's important to stretch yourself as an actor and I've been learning so much as we go along."
Asked about Rosie's disappearance, Flanagan said: "It's actually all going to come out in a special episode, so all will be explained next Monday, it's a really big episode and there's going to be a lot of exciting storylines coming out of it.
"I can't wait to sit down and watch it because you only get to see your own scenes being shot so it'll be great to see it all come together. All I can say is I'm going to stay missing for another while yet."

We can announce today that Corrie's Andy Whyment and his wife, Nicola, are the proud parents of a bouncing baby boy, named Tommy. Tommy was born on October 13 and weighed in at 6 pounds 14 ounces. OK Magazine featured Andy and Nicole's wedding photos, and very likely they will soon be featuring the baby snaps as well.
That's baby number two now arrived, out of the many cast members (or their parnters) that are expecting. Julia Haworth had her baby in the summer and we should be hearing about Tina O'Brien and Ryan Thomas' baby soon.

Coronation Street's Carla Connor will be at the centre of a number of dramatic plots in the coming weeks, a report claims.
According to The Sun, the character will be pushed to the forefront before actress Alison King departs the ITV1 soap temporarily for maternity leave.
Carla has already been involved in Liam Connor's (Rob James-Collier) murder storyline, which attracted 9.39m viewers on Friday night.
An insider told the newspaper: "She has got lots of huge storylines lined up before she goes. Her character is very much the centre of attention following Liam's death.
"We'll see her run a whole gamut of emotions as she decides whether or not to go ahead with her marriage to Tony [Gordon]. She's a huge name on the Street and fans love her."
In a recent interview with DS, Corrie's lead producer Kim Crowther confirmed that she had big plans for the character.
She said: "We've got lots of other exciting things planned for Carla, so when Alison returns from maternity leave, she'll be very busy."

EX-CORRIE star Bruce Jones said playing Les Battersby wrecked his life — and claimed he was RELIEVED when he was sacked after a 19-pint bender.
Bruce was axed after a foul-mouthed drunken rant in which he slated co-stars and revealed the outcome of the soap’s top secret, the Tracy Barlow murder plot.
In The Dark Side Of Fame, he told Piers Morgan his life was made hell by fans thinking he really was Les — as well as long hours on set. He said of his sacking: “I was upset for half an hour then I said to my agent, ‘I feel there’s a weight off my shoulders’.”
Bruce, 55, also told of his horror at finding the body of fourth Yorkshire Ripper victim, Jean Jones. He said: “She had her hair burned, face smashed in, disembowelled.
“I had nightmares for years. I still do.”
The show is on BBC1, tonight at 10.35pm.

Three different versions of the murder of Corrie character Liam Connor proved a killer hit for the ITV website, with over 650,000 views of the extra footage over the weekend.
Fans were given access to all three murders - filmed to act as decoys to prevent details of the real ending from getting out - plus a look behind the scenes at the filming of each one.
The three versions saw Liam shot during Tony's stag night paintballing session, pushed from a high balcony on the morning of the stag night and finally being knocked down by a car on the stag night. The latter version was the final ending.
As ‘murder week’ came to a close with Liam’s murder on Friday October 17, fans were already logging on to itv.com/coronationstreet to watch the alternative endings that weren’t screened on TV. In the three hours after the programme half a million of the three different endings were viewed. Over 5,000 have downloaded a mask of Tony, the character suspected of being behind the murder.
Fans could also watch exclusive behind the scenes footage, interviews with directors, stuntmen and actors. The extra content was produced by the ITV Digital Productions unit.
A spokesman for ITV said: “Having gone to trouble of shooting the different murders it was felt that loyal fans of the show should be given the opportunity to watch them all. Our hunch that this footage would be popular was proved right – in fact far more people watched it than we predicted.
“Viewers want to engage with our content on many levels and our website offers us the platform to let them do so. This is all part of making the ITV website the home for fans of our shows and is just one example of what they can expect over the coming months.”
It is the second time that ITV.com users have been able to view an alternative ending online.
In 2007 Coronation Street fans had the opportunity to watch Tracy Barlow being found not guilty of murdering Charlie Stubbs on ITV.com just minutes after the real ending showing her being found guilty was shown on TV.
ITV.com has seen a massive rise in users and video views, with almost 7 million unique users recorded last month - an increase of 28% year on year - and video views leaping by 347%.

Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and John (Graeme Hawley) are back from their weekend way and the first thing on John’s mind is getting over to his gran’s house to feed the ‘cat’. But he’s distracted by a taxi job and leaves without his keys and mobile phone. When Fiz discovers that Lloyd (Craig Charles) hasn’t been feeding the cat at all she panics and takes the keys to feed the cat herself. When John discovers from Eileen (Sue Cleaver) what Fiz is planning he panics and races across town – with his passengers still in the cab - to try and get to his gran’s house before Fiz. Meanwhile Rosie (Helen Flanagan) is anticipating John’s return and has armed herself with a towel rail to attack him. Will John be in time to avert disaster?
Maria (Samia Smith) is still tormented by the amount of calls on Liam’s phone to Carla. Tom (Philip McGinley) tries to calm her down telling her they were all calls about the stag night details. But when she takes a call on the phone for Carla or Tom about Lad Rags she sees red. Is Maria edging closer to the truth about Carla and Liam?
Steve (Simon Gregson) is worried when Michelle (Kym Marsh) asks Becky (Katherine Kelly) to stand in for her whiles she helps JD out at a gig. When Dan (Matthew Crompton) starts winding Steve and Becky up Steve starts to wonder if he knows something.
Elsewhere – Norris’s (Malcolm Hebdon) obsession with entering competitions is driving Rita (Barbara Knox) and Emily (Eileen Derbyshire) to distraction and Pam (Kate Anthony) tries to persuade Molly (Vicky Binns) to go to a wedding fayre.
This episode is written by Damon Rochefort, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by John Anderson.

PI for the rest of the week follows:
Monday 3 November 8.30pm
A happy Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) has arrived at John’s gran’s house and is looking for the cat but she can’t find any evidence of a cat and instead finds evidence of another kind which knocks her sick – whose is the women’s underwear drying on the back of a chair?
Meanwhile John (Graeme Hawley) is racing across town and arrives at the house just as Fiz starts to head upstairs to investigate some noises she has heard. A stunned Fiz is forced to listen as he explains that Rosie (Helen Flanagan) is locked in the attic and that he abducted her five weeks ago. She races to the attic to see the horrible truth for herself but Rosie is armed and lying in wait.
Maria (Samia Smith) tells Tom (Philip McGinley) she is going to find out more about Carla’s involvement in Lad Rags forcing him to come clean about Carla investing in the business. He tries to convince her it was all above board and purely a business arrangement but Maria decides to seek out Tony (Gray O’Brien) and see if he knew what was going on. How will Tony react?
Dan (Matthew Crompton) is winding Steve (Simon Gregson) up about his stamina and Steve is worried that he is going to drop him in it so he suggests Becky (Katherine Kelly) start flirting with other guys to put him off the scent. But how does he feel when she starts giving JD (Paul David Gough) the come-on?
Elsewhere Norris (Malcolm Hebdon) takes his quest to win the competitions a little too far for Rita’s (Barbara Knox) liking.
This episode is written by Mark Wadlow, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by John Anderson.

Wednesday 5 November 7.30pm
John (Graeme Hawley) lies unconscious on the bed after being hit by Rosie (Helen Flanagan) who has raced out of the house with Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) in hot pursuit. Still stunned by what John has done Fiz manages to persuade Rosie she wants to help and calls the police. Back at the Websters’, Sophie (Brooke Vincent) is opening a birthday card when the call comes in from Rosie. Overjoyed, they race to John’s gran’s house to find her safe with the police. But, as John is taken away, a devastated Fiz has to return to Coronation Street and explain to Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Julie (Katy Cavanagh) what has happened.
Maria (Samia Smith) feels bad about accusing Liam of getting up to something with Carla even though he is dead and not there to defend himself. Tom (Philip McGinley) tries again to explain that he set up the deal with Carla behind Liam’s back but Maria can’t stop the niggling doubt that something was going on.
Peter (Chris Gascoyne) offers to get some fireworks for Simon (Alexander Bain) but when he still hasn’t returned by nightfall Ken (William Roache) is forced to go to the Kabin and get some instead. Will Peter let his son down again?
Steve (Simon Gregson) and Becky (Katherine Kelly) are alarmed to see Hooch (Dominic Carter) arrive in the Rovers and Steve desperately tries to distract Michelle. But once she’s out of the way Becky goes into flirting overdrive with Steve for Hooch’s benefit.
This episode is written by Chris Fewtrell, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by John Anderson.

Friday 7 November
With Rosie (Helen Flanagan) safely back at home Sally (Sally Whittaker) and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) still have many unanswered questions and are surprised when Rosie defends John’s actions. But when Tony Gordon (Gray O’Brien) gets wind of Rosie’s return and arrives at the house with a bunch of flowers for her Sally is suspicious of his motives. She quizzes Rosie who eventually caves in and confides in Sally about the video of Carla and Liam kissing.
Elsewhere Rosie’s return is not the only thing rattling Tony – his accountant spells out in no uncertain terms that his business is in dire straits and he is hugely in debt. Unless he starts selling the apartments things will get a lot worse.
Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) knows that she has to try and convince everyone that she knew nothing about John (Graeme Hawley) keeping Rosie a prisoner but she also knows that she has to go and see John to find out some answers of her own. But all of this has to be put on hold when the police arrive to ask her some questions.
Things aren’t looking too good for Janice (Vicky Entwistle) - she is due in court later for the lottery fraud. Leanne (Jane Danson) is grateful to her for keeping her name out of it and agrees to go with her to court. But Janice still has a lot of work to do to win the other factory girls round.
Ken (William Roache) is grilling a weary Peter (Chris Baldwin) about his plans for Simon (Alexander Bain) and points out that he needs to enroll him in school. At the moment though it is all Peter can do to stay awake whilst he is in charge of his son, never mind plan his future.
This episode is written by Lucy Gannon, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by John Anderson.

Friday 7 November 8.30pm
Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) doesn't understand why the police want to talk to her until it suddenly dawns on her that they think she was involved. She is eventually released after convincing them that she had no idea what John (Graeme Hawley) was up to. John is delighted when she turns up to see him but she makes it clear that she only wants answers and as far as she is concerned it is over.
Sally (Sally Whittaker) decides to see Rosie’s (Helen Flanagan) footage of Carla and Liam for herself and manages to save the information onto a memory stick just before Tony (Gray O’Brien) arrives at the office. He’s oblivious to what is going on however as he is more concerned with his finances and resorts forging Carla’s signature so he can take money from the payroll to finance his property business. Is it all falling apart for Mr Gordon?
Peter (Chris Gascoyne) is struggling with being a full time dad and despite Ashley (Steven Arnold) telling him that things will get better he decides the only option is to do a runner and leave Simon (Alexander Bain) with Ken (William Roache) and Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride). But Ken rumbles his plan and insists he stay and face up to his responsibilities.
Janice (Vicky Entwistle) comes back from court having being given community service but she gets no sympathy from the ex-colleagues who make it clear they wish she had been locked up.
Pam (Kate Anthony) and Tyrone (Alan Halsall) find themselves caught up in another of Pam’s scams when she ‘treats’ them to a slap up meal at a posh restaurant.
This episode is written by Julie Jones, produced by Kim Crowther and directed by John Anderson.

The Stape and Rosie thing didn't really feel that realistic to me.He goes away for hours, couldn't she have smashed her way out of it by now? Also as comedic as it was, would she really be worried about hobnobs and Heat magazine?

Im not sure, I think its lurking under the surface, waiting to rear its head, same with Carla's brother
Out of Emily and Jed, Jed will die. He was never brought in to last, Emily is one of the longest serving ones so it would have made headlines.

Peter Barlow will soon return to Weatherfield as a single dad.
His ex-wife, Lucy, passed away and her dying wish was that Peter should take care of their son, Simon. Peter took the boy back to his new home in Portsmouth but found he needed some support from his family. We'll let actor Chris Gascoyne, who plays Peter, tell you more...
What reaction does Peter’s reappearance get from the other residents?
Ken and Deirdre are surprised to see him, especially when they discover he’s got Simon with him. Ken’s supporting him but there are a lot of issues there with Ken and Peter’s relationship. It’s a deep, complex story about two fathers and a son trying to love each other but with so much water under the bridge.
How’s he feeling about being a dad?
He’s terrified. He’s trying to be a dad to Simon and he’s trying to love him but he doesn’t know how. He loves him but he doesn’t know how to give him what he needs and he’s fearful of that. If he’s being cold it’s only because he doesn’t feel good enough. He feels the gap is so big between them that he can’t build that bridge. He thinks Simon would be better off with a proper family, not a dysfunctional one like the Barlows.
How does he handle it?
He’s all over the place, he can’t cope at all. Drink is becoming an issue and his self-esteem is low. He can’t see a way out and he can’t imagine doing this for the rest of his life.
Do you think he needs to grow up a bit and face up to his responsibilities?
Maybe. He could be seen as a coward but Peter believes he’s doing the right thing. He hasn’t got the tools to look after Simon and give him what he needs. Sometimes we’ll see his point and sometimes we won’t.
What’s he been doing while he’s been away?
He’s been running a bookies in Portsmouth with Adam. I don’t think there’s been anyone significant in Portsmouth and life is complicated enough for Peter without a woman. But this is Peter and he soon takes a liking to someone and that person is Leanne. There’s a lot of flirting together and she’s helping out with Simon but it looks like he’s going to mess it up when he starts drinking too much.
How long will Peter be around for?
I’m here for a year to start with so it will be interesting to see what direction Peter takes. He has the potential to be a very good dad but at the minute he feels like everything is conspiring against him and he hasn’t got the confidence or the self-esteem to cope.
How does it feel to be back in Corrie?
It’s great to be back, I’m really enjoying it. It’s nice to see everyone and I’ve been lucky again that the writers have given me such a good storyline. It’s very human, which I love. It’s a big emotional journey about a dad trying to love his little boy. You’ll love him and hate him watching it.

MARIA Connor looks set to be evil Tony’s next victim — after she susses he murdered her husband.
The downtrodden Corrie crimper realises the terrible truth when she finds out Tony’s new bride Carla had a fling with her hubby Liam.
Suddenly she sees that jealous Tony (Gray O’Brien) had a motive for wanting Liam dead.
Tony ... on wedding day
Tony ... on wedding day
And she eventually accuses the factory boss of being behind Liam’s hit-and-run — putting her own life in danger.
The penny finally drops at Tony and Carla’s wedding.
Amid the celebrations, pregnant Maria cannot hold back her grief at the loss of her own husband.
She is found crying by Sally Webster (Sally Whittaker). Sozzled Sally has just been snapped at by Carla (Alison King) for being drunk — and when she spies Maria, realises how she can get revenge on Carla.
So she tells the weeping widow Liam had been having an affair with the bride.
She even shows Maria the mobile phone footage of the cheating pair that daughter Rosie (Helen Flanagan) took — and which Tony believed had been safely destroyed.
Sally’s drunken plan works — and Maria, played by Samia Smith, 26, screams at Carla, ruining her big day.
But later when the chaos dies down, Maria realises Tony knew of the affair — and had a motive for wanting Carla’s secret love dead.

She also realises that as the death took place at Tony’s own stag do, he had every opportunity to plan a hit and run. She ransacks his office looking for clues and tells everyone her fears.
An insider at the ITV1 soap said: “Sadly her friends think grief-stricken Maria is losing the plot.

“They even arrange for a psychiatric doctor to visit her. Maria then puts her own life in mortal danger when she phones Tony and tells him, ‘You killed Liam and I’ll prove it. And don’t think I’m going to go away — because I’ll never stop till I see you rotting in prison’.
“Viewers will be on the edge of their seats willing her to succeed but scared Tony will silence her first.”

ROVERS barmaid Becky Granger shocks punters when she declares her undying love for boss Steve McDonald.
The couple, who had shared one drunken night of nookie, get down and dirty yet again.
And this time they cannot hide their true feelings for each other. Becky and Steve sleep together after Steve lies for her at her trial for assault.
He said she was with him the night the police alleged that she committed a string of crimes including theft, vandalism and wilful damage.
In an emotional speech, Steve (Simon Gregson, 32) tells the court: “We have been having an affair for about a year and she was with me all night.”
The judge dismisses the case and Becky (Katherine Kelly, 28) walks free. Outside court, she thanks Steve for his support, telling him: “You are the best bloke in the whole world.
“When you were saying those things on the stand, you had me in tears. For a minute I thought you were telling the truth.”
Steve then gives her a long passionate kiss, saying: “I wasn’t pretending. I really do love you and all I want is for us to be together for the rest of our lives.”
They then rush off to a hotel for a session of nookie.
And Steve promises he will tell live-in girlfriend Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh, 31) the truth.
An insider said: “The scriptwriters have been desperate to get Steve and Becky together. They have a great future marked out for them.”

Aye, although it probs wont happen until next year I think
Tony's downfall should be good, it begins in November after his finacial advisor tells him he is in debt, and things will only get worse if the Victoria Court flats dont sell
Wouldn't it look far too suspect if he tries getting Maria bumped off when she starts accusing him of being behind Liam's murder?

The Stape and Rosie storyline is starting to get decent now, it really didn't seem all that believable at the start of the week and the way Rosie was behaving was just silly for someone being held captive.Tonight was a lot more like what you'd expect of someone in her position and it made for better viewing, still laughable in places though.

It's set to be the winter of discontent in Weatherfield this year. Steve's (Simon Gregson) resigned himself to the fact he's not meant to be with Michelle (Kym Marsh) and so embarks on a bad boyfriend routine, hoping that she'll dump him before he's forced to carry out the dreaded deed. Steve's new love, however, isn't going to hang around for him forever.
Molly (Vicky Binns) and Tyrone's (Alan Halsall) relationship is also pushed to its limit as Tyrone continues to lie to his fiancée as to his whereabouts. He's out selling dodgy goods with Auntie Pam (Kate Anthony), but Molly gets the wrong end of the stick and makes a drastic decision which she could soon be regretting.
Peter Barlow's (Chris Gascoyne) another focus on the Cobbles this Christmas as he struggles to come to terms with fatherhood. Ken's (William Roache) disappointed that Peter is more interested in alcohol and Leanne (Jane Danson) than bringing up his son Simon (Alex Bain). Old tensions within the family soon begin to emerge and it takes a Christmas catastrophe to shock Peter into changing his ways.
Tony Gordon's (Gray O'Brien) in trouble, too, as a ghost from his past resurfaces in the form of Jed Stone (Kenneth Cope). Maria (Samia Smith) is slowly beginning to unravel his scheming and murdering ways, but when her mental state is called into question, it'll be touch and go as to whether anyone will believe her before another body increases Tony's murder count to two.
Elsewhere on the Street, Liz (Bev Callard) realises that a potential life partner has been right under her nose; Leanne picks a boyfriend with plenty of baggage; Rita (Barbara Knox) and Norris find themselves some Christmas love, albeit not together; there looks to be a reconciliation on the cards for Dev (Jimmi Karkishi); and Eileen's (Sue Cleaver) father Colin puts in an appearance.
CRINGE TIME D:

If you haven't seen the main news article about Tony Gordon's brother, then click here. So there we go, we'll finally be delving into Tony's (Gray O'Brien) past a little more at the beginning of December when we meet his sibling, Pat, played by Jamie Lee.
Earlier this week, I caught up with Alison King - who plays the fantastic Carla Connor - to chat about wedding week and she only had praise for him. I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward to learning a little more about Tony and I'm hoping that Pat will stay beyond the wedding. Check back at the end of next month for the fruits of my chat with Alison.
Also, I hear that following her successful comeback in August, Margi Clarke's returning as Jackie Dobbs for Molly (Vicky Binns) and her son Tyrone's (Alan Halsall) wedding. She'll apparently return to Weatherfield at the beginning of next year, a week or two prior to their nuptials. Here's hoping that she'll have a longer, more permanent stint this time. Click here to read my interview with her from earlier this year.
Staying on the topic of Molly and Tyrone's wedding, I'm quite disappointed to hear that we won't be seeing Molly's father, Diggory Compton (Eric Potts). Although he wasn't much cop as a character, I'd have liked to have seen him return for his daughter's wedding, even if only for a couple of episodes before returning to the scrap heap.
We'll also be meeting Dev's (Jimmi Harkishin) Uncle Omar early in the New Year as his storyline with Tara (Ayesha Dharker) steps up a gear. Uncle Omar, however, has yet to be cast. More on that as and when.
Briefly a word on the Connor family. We've not seen the last of the parents Helen (Sorcha Cusack) and Barry (Frank Grimes). We last saw them returning to Ireland in a taxi following Liam's (Rob James-Collier) funeral. However, they'll be back for another appearance in the middle of November.
After all, they still have another grandchild on the way by Maria (Samia Smith) along with their daughter Michelle (Kim Marsh) and grandson Ryan (Ben Thompson) on the Street. Oh, and let's not do what the Corrie producers seem to have done and forget their biological grandson Alex (Dario Coates). Mind you, it's probably a good thing that he's been wiped off the storyboard.
And finally, to clear up the situation regarding Johnny Dixon, who plays the only remaining Morton in Weatherfield, Darryl. I can confirm that he's been given a total reprieve. Earlier this year, I reported that the character would be sticking around for what was then a couple of months.
However, it appears the producers have sufficient material for him in the coming months as he's now staying for the 'foreseeable future'. He has a good thing going on with Amber (Nikki Patel) and he's obviously staying put to keep the Morton name alive ready for the planned return of some of the Mortons in the early part of next year.

TWISTED Tony Gordon will go on another Corrie killing spree this Christmas — after pensioner Jed Stone gets in his way.
The evil factory boss (Gray O’Brien) strangles Jed with a sexy negligee he’s bought for wife Carla on Christmas Eve.
Militant Jed (Kenneth Cope) starts blackmailing Tony after he finds out he ordered love rival Liam Connor’s cruel murder.
Tony throttles him with the undergarment — before hiding Jed’s lifeless body at the knicker factory.
A top soap source said: “Viewers are in no doubt about Tony’s ruthless streak but when he strangles Jed it’s a big shock. He coolly paid someone to bump off Liam so viewers will be stunned to see him fly into a psychotic rage himself.”
Tony hatches a plan to dump the corpse. Luckily, a giant hamper arrived earlier that was raided by knicker-stitchers Janice Battersby and Kelly Crabtree.
Tony bundles Jed into the giant basket and sets off home to give his beloved Carla her gifts.
He disposes of the body on Christmas Day, telling her there was a break-in at the factory and he needs to “clean up”.
But our insider says he gets the “shock of his life” when he gets there.
The source adds: “Tony is one of the most wicked villains to walk the Corrie cobbles
I'm surprised that he's ever come back. You'd think once he gets caught after what he's done, he would be put inside for quite some time.

The cobbles of Coronation Street will be warming up this Christmas with more than a few good tidings between Liz McDonald and Lloyd Mullaney.
Rovers Return barmaid Liz, played by Bev Callard, will share a few bottles of wine with her son's business partner Lloyd, played by Craig Charles, the Daily Star reports.
But as the two share their singleton woes with each other, one thing leads to another and they end up in bed.
To further the Christmas caper, the couple are almost caught in the act by Liz's son Steve, played by Simon Gregson, who is a partner in Lloyd's cabbie firm Streetcars.
A show insider said the liaison was unlikely to improve matters for Liz and her troubled love life.
"She hasn't had the best of luck in the man stakes
A familiar face is returning to Coronation Street next week.
Michelle's old mate JD will drop into the Rovers for a pint, and will give Becky more than a few admiring glances.
Does this mean Weatherfield's lovable bad girl has finally found the man of her dreams, or does JD only have eyes for old friend Michelle?
Well, actor Paul David Gough, who plays the hunky musician, is remaining tight lipped about the storyline, but rumour has it Steve and Michelle's on/off relationship will hit yet another snag this Christmas.
Steve will apparently start giving Michelle the runaround in the hope she'll dump him before he has to tie the knot.
And after months of providing comic relief for the rest of the cast, it seems Eileen will finally get a decent storyline.
The lovable Streetcars worker will be knocked for six when her dad, Colin, makes an appearance
