I missed the episodes all week so I'm watching the Omnibus now. I can't believe it was just whispering Geoff! That's a disappointment. Ah well at least Molly won't be disappointed.

BARACK Obama has been invited on a tour of Manchester City’s stadium and Coronation Street’s cobbles by his British cousin.
IT worker Dawn Galley, 28, found she was related to the president-elect following a speech he made last year.
Obama, 47, revealed that his great-great-great grandad Fulmuth Kearney came from a small Irish village in County Offaly called Moneygall.
Dawn, of Salford, Gtr Manchester, is descended from Fulmuth, making them 8th cousins.
Irish band The Corrigans researched the link and found Dawn.
Yesterday she told The Sun: “I can’t believe we have such a famous cousin in our family, it is amazing.
Roots
“We are trying to find out when he might be coming over and if we can show him our home and family.
“We know Obama is part Irish, so now we hope to make him an honorary Mancunian too!”
Man City supporter Dawn added: “I doubt he knows much about Manchester so a trip to Coronation Street might be in order.
“Also I don’t think he has a football team, so maybe we can turn him into a City fan?”
Meanwhile, The Corrigans wrote a song about Obama’s roots called There’s No One As Irish as Barack Obama.
Obama loved the tune — and invited the band to play it at his inauguration party in Washington DC.

You can say that again! He's definitely improved though, but he's still as gourmless as ever. That punch was awful too. Are Michelle and Ryan leaving now? I can't see them having a place on the Street now she's lost her job at the Rovers.
Btw, what's that photobucket image you've got?

......according to Ken Barlow
http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/00711/SNN1902TVAAA_682_711954a.jpg
In fact the rat, played by William Roache, has sunk even further – by telling houseboat dweller Martha (ex-Dynasty star Stephanie Beacham) that his missus is DEAD.
She invites him aboard for late-night coffee. But at the last minute guilty Ken opts for a quick snog and jumps ship. That doesn’t get him out of hot water with Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride).
He gets home to find she’s thrown his dinner in the bin.
An insider said: "Ken’s in for a dilemma over telling Martha the truth. It will explode in his face when the two women find out"

It has been a long time coming but we can finally confirm that Andrew Sachs is going to star in your favourite soap.
The veteran star of Fawlty Towers has signed up to play Ramsay Clegg, the half-brother of Norris Cole.
Ramsay is the illegitimate son of Norris's mother, who gave birth to him as a teenager.
Our congratulations to Mr. Sachs, we can't wait to see him bring his comic talents bring to Weatherfield

COLD Feet star John Thomson is to join Coronation Street full time.
John, 39 — who appeared in three episodes in December as electrician-turned-children’s entertainer Jesse Chadwick — returns this spring.
And he will soon get together with Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver), before moving in with Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne).
Comic ... in the Street
Comic ... in the Street
A source said: “Producers went the extra mile to get him. He’s worked with Chris and Sue before and the chemistry between them was perfect.”
John, who found fame as Pete Gifford in Cold Feet, said: “I knew I was coming back this time because they gave me a surname!”
Kingdom star John — a Corrie extra 20 years ago — first appeared in December dressed as a cowboy for Amy McDonald’s birthday party in The Rovers.
He took a shine to Eileen when she stepped in to play his Indian princess sidekick after his girlfriend dumped him.

Awards may have been a bit thin on the ground for Coronation Street last year, but it beat the other soaps in the most important contest - the battle for viewers.
Figures recently released by BARB show that in 2008 Coronation Street had the fifth highest ratings of all programmes across all channels. Eastenders was eighth, and Emmerdale only managed 20th.
The highest-rated programme was the Christmas showing of the new Wallace and Gromit film, which of course starred former Corrie star Sally Lindsay, so I think we can lay a little claim to that one as well.

Emails are finding their way to my inbox asking when Julia Haworth will return to Coronation Street as Claire Peacock. Julia is currently on maternity leave from work on the Street after giving birth to a baby girl in July last year. She'll be back on our screens in the next few weeks as she's involved in the upcoming haunted hat story, oh yes!
Did you know that Julia Haworth is one of only a few Coronation Street actors who have their own, official website? For a complete list, click here.

Oh no Claire's back! She's the most boring character ever. It's been nice not having the Peackocks for a while, and now we'll have to endure more irksome scenes with Claire again! I hope they don't have anymore petty storylines, like that awful houseswap!

To be fair on the actress, she hasnt had properly planned storyline since '06
She was quickly shipped out in '08 during the Steve Frost/Kim Crowther swap over
and in '07, the plot she was in was very quickly and lazily written after Madline Mccan's disappearance

And then both she and Sally were given personality transplants during that houseswap storyline. The old Claire would never have been so petty. I actually liked her before she became driftwood during Steve Frost's tyrannous era . Oh yeah, and I forgot, that awful KC story! Those are my memories of her...

I am getting sick of the Tony / Carla / Liam / Maria story now. It was good at first but they need to spice it up a bit. The same thing seems to happen every episode; Maria makes a fool of herself in the middle of the street with her pyjamas on, then Fiz and Audrey look on and shake their heads, the she goes to bed or has bath before doing the same next episode. Boring!
Scarlett.
25-01-2009, 01:04 AM
Well, it does get exciting next week and beyond that
Maria tries to run over Tony, but crashes, Jed returns
Week after
Jimmy gives Jed a heart attack, and Tony confesses all to Carla as a storm hits the street
Week after that

We've known for a while now that Coronation Street's Alison King is to take a break from the ITV soap to give birth to her first child with boyfriend Adam Huckett. She actually finished filming just before Christmas and is now enjoying a nice relax.
However, her screen character Carla Gordon is still residing in Weatherfield, where she's becoming more and more frustrated with 'fruit loop' Maria Connor's (Samia Smith) ongoing accusations of murder towards Tony (Gray O'Brien). Following Jed's reappearance on the Cobbles next week, though, Carla soon begins to question her husband's innocence.
In a fortnight's time, Carla digs a little deeper into Tony's dealings and finally plucks up the courage to confront him. As she walks into Underworld, she's surprised that it's empty - apart from Tony, who bolts the door behind her. After a bitter confrontation, Tony's carefully weaved web of deceit snaps around him as he's goaded into confessing to Liam's murder. As a storm rages over Weatherfield, Carla begins to fear for her own safety and looks for a way out of the factory.
When Wiki (Wanda Opalinska) appears at Underworld to let them both know that she's returning to Poland, Carla seizes the opportunity to make a run for it. Panicking that he's about to lose his one true love, Tony rushes outside in the hope of preventing Carla from leaving. As you can see from my pictures below, his attempts result in a somewhat ironic turn of events.
So goodbye for now, Carla. Alison King will be returning to filming towards the back end of this year. In her absence, though, we have new factory boss Luke Strong to look forward to. Luke is to be played by Queer as Folk actor and Shipwrecked narrator Craig Kelly. Last week, I caught up with Craig to chat about his new role and I have to say I'm really looking forward to his arrival. From what he told me, his character's going to be the new, strong alpha male on the Street who's successful in everything he does and has a keen eye for the ladies. Check back next month for the interview.

CORRIE killer Tony Gordon is set to bed the widow of the man he murdered in a sensational twist.
Maria Connor and the evil factory boss become lovers after the grieving hairdresser begins to doubt that he was behind her beloved Liam’s death.
It means bitter love rivals Maria (Samia Smith) and Tony’s wife Carla are set to step up their long-time feud.
Love blooms when Carla (Alison King) flees Weatherfield for several months, and mum-to-be Maria suspects her own campaign to prove Tony (Gray O’Brien) ordered Liam’s hit-and-run is misplaced.
Our insider said: “The writers held secret talks last week to discuss how to go about it — because they know it could come across as far-fetched.
“But all the hints of a budding relationship will be put in place over the next months.”
The source added: “Maria strikes up an unlikely friendship with Tony. With Carla missing from his life he thinks it is a chance to make amends for what he did to Liam.”
The two will be a couple by the birth of Maria’s baby in the summer.
And it will cause fireworks when Carla — who enraged Maria by her affair with Liam — returns in the autumn.

Now this is one twist I didnt expect to happen

Tony (Gray O’Brien) sits alone in a darkened flat, the place has been completely trashed but has no desire to sort out the flat or himself. The factory girls are concerned when they arrive to find Underworld locked up and no sign of Tony and Carla. When Maria (Samia Smith) arrives and tells them what she saw the previous evening Julie (Katy Cavanagh) decides to go to the flat and see what is going on. She is shocked when she finds a bloodied Tony at the flat and when she asks after Carla he slams the door in her face.
Gary (Mikey North) and Tina(Michelle Keegan) have an awkward exchange over the garden fence. Tina thinks that Gary is just being nice so she’ll change her statement and when David (Jack P Shepherd) comes into the garden he is furious at Gary who accuses him of controlling Tina. Later Tina tells David that he has put her in a very difficult position and if he really loved her he wouldn’t ask her to lie for him. The enormity of the problems he is causing for her hit home when she finds herself alone and being threatened in the kebab shop by Len (Conor Ryan).
Kevin (Michael Le Vell) is worried about Sophie’s (Brooke Vincent) date with Ben (Lucien Laviscount) but Sally (Sally Whittaker) reassures him that he is a nice boy. Rosie (Helen Flanagan) helps Sophie get ready and for once the girls put their past arguments behind them and enjoy being sisters.
Elsewhere Martha (Stephanie Beacham) presents Ken (William Roache) with a beautiful gift, will he come clean about Deirdre?
This episode is written by Lucy Gannon and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is John Anderson
***PI for the rest of the week follows***
Monday 9 February 8.30pm
A terrified Tina (Michelle Keegan) tries putting on a brave face as Len (Conor Ryan) continues to threaten her. She tells him about the CCTV camera but he is very careful to ensure his threats are verbal rendering the silent camera useless. After he has a gone a shaken Tina has a go at Gary (Mikey North) who is oblivious to his uncle’s actions but he surprises himself by physically attacking Len for his interference.
Everyone is concerned about Carla, and Leanne (Jane Danson) is starting to wonder if Tony (Gray O’Brien) has hurt her. Determined to get to the bottom of what happened Maria (Samia Smith) and Leanne decide to pay Tony a visit. A dazed and drunken Tony answers the door and tells that that Carla has left him because she was in love with Liam. How will Maria react to this latest bombshell?
A stressed out Steve (Simon Gregson) asks Becky (Katherine Kelly) to cover in the Rovers as it is Amy’s birthday but Becky tells him she is doing something with Jason (Ryan Thomas). It doesn’t stop Becky being jealous later however when she discovers that Steve is planning to go on a date with Natasha (Rachel Leskovac).
Elswhere Deirdre (Anne Kirkrbide) is amused that Ken (William Roache) has ‘bought himself’ a kimono and he doesn’t tell her that it was actually a gift!
This episode is written by John Kerr and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is John Anderson.
Wednesday 11 February 7.30pm
Joe (Reece Dinsdale) wants to report Len (Conor Ryan) to the police but when he, Gail (Helen Worth) and David (Jack P Shepherd) view the CCTV footage in the hope of finding something to incriminate Len they discover that he has been too clever and there is nothing to prove he threatened Tina (Michelle Keegan).
It is the anniversary of Liam and Maria’s wedding and she heads for the cemetery to visit his grave. Maria (Samia Smith) is surprised when Tony (Gray O’Brien) turns up to pay his respects and uncharacteristically breaks down in tears. Maria finds herself softening towards him and offers him a lift home.
Natasha (Rachel Leskovac) arrives for her date with Steve (Simon Gregson) but he is far from enthusiastic and after they spend the evening eating takeaway curries and watching the football she apologises for bamboozling him into a date and lets him off the hook
Mary (Patti Clare) and Norris (Malcolm Hebdon) also enjoy a date before she heads off on her cruise with her mother. She offers him another chance to go with her and is devastated when he refuses.
This episode is written by Carmel Morgan and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is John Anderson.
Friday 13 February 7.30pm
Jason (Ryan Thomas) has a surprise for Becky (Katherine Kelly) - he wants to take her to Spain for Valentine's Day but Becky is having none of it - she won't travel on Friday the 13th for anyone. Jason decides that he has to do something to make this Friday 13th the luckiest one Becky has ever had. Later as Becky is working at the cafe a uniform clad Jason bursts in and sweeps her off her feet literally - to gasps from the customers he takes her outside where a gleaming Harley awaits. Will she accept his romantic proposal?
Meanwhile Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is planning a pre Valentine's Day surprise for Becky having discovered she has rejected Jason's holiday idea. Unaware of Jason's subsequent extravagant proposal plans he arms himself with a bunch of flowers and Michelle's old engagement ring but is he too late?
Anna (Debbie Rush) extends an olive branch to Tina (Michelle Keegan) and apologizes for Len's (Conor Ryan) strong arm tactics the kebab shop the other night. She tells her that Gary (Mikey North) was furious and swung a punch at Len when he found out.
Tony (Gray O’Brien) apologizes to Maria (Samia Smith) for the state he was in at the graveyard but when he enters the factory to discover the usual high jinks he sees red and insists that supervisor Julie (Katy Cavanagh) sack someone by the end of play.
Meanwhile back at home Julie is getting increasingly irritated by Kirk's (Andrew Whyment) simplicity and Natasha (Rachel Lezkovac puts her disastrous date with Steve behind her.
Elsewhere Sally Webster (Sally Whittaker) hires Graeme (Craig Gazey) to tidy up her garden.
This episode is written by Damon Rochefort and produced by Kim Crowther, the director is John Anderson
Friday 13 February 8.30pm
Everyone congratulates Becky (Katherine Kelly) and Jason (Ryan Thomas) on their proposal but Steve (Simon Gregson) can't bear to watch the rest of it unfold and storms back into the Rovers. Liz (Beverly Callard) is surprised to discover that Steve planned to propose to Becky too. When Becky arrives in the Rovers to celebrate she is surprised by Steve's seemingly calm reaction to the news - he even offers the first drink on the house. But later when she pops out for a fag she finds an angry and resentful Steve who makes his real feelings known. She is stunned as he produces the ring he had planned to give her and asks her to marry him instead!
At the factory Julie (Katy Cavanagh) is feeling under pressure and tries to clarify the situation with Tony (Gray O’Brien) who insists that unless she finds someone to sack she will be out of a job herself.
Sally (Sally Whittaker) is very pleased with Graeme's handiwork in the garden and pays him generously but when Kevin (Michael Le Vell) comes home she passes the work off as her own. Kevin is impressed until Graeme (Craig Gazey) turns up to see if he left his watch at the house. Sally has to come clean but Kevin is furious with her for lying to him and confides in Ashley (Steven Arnold) that he still doesn't feel at home in the house. – prompting Ashely to invite him to stay the night in his old house!
Tina (Michelle Keegan) sees Gary (Mikey North) in the garden and asks if he really threw a punch at Len (Conor Ryan) - Gary confirms that he did and she tells him she is grateful. Meanwhile David (Jack P Shepherd) is determined to treat her to something nice for her 18th birthday.

Inside Soap has always been, and remains, my favourite soaps mag. I bought it today after a too-long hiatus and a huge Coronation Street spoiler fell out of its pages and onto this blog.
It looks like Steve McDonald is going to make an honest woman of Becky Granger when he asks her to marry him. A Corrie source tells the mag: "Steve and Becky's wedding day will be a wedding to watch. Coronation Street fans have taken Becky to their hearts and it'd be wonderful to see her come out on top for once. However, there'll be plenty of hurdles for her to overcome before she gets that ring on her finger." Not least the fact that she gets two proposals - one from Steve and one from Jason Grimshaw.

CORONATION Street is getting more than a lick of paint — residents will soon have their own ART GALLERY.
Cornershop mogul Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) and new lover Tara Mandal (Ayesha Dharker) are planning to sell swanky pictures.
And burly builder Bill Webster (Peter Armitage) is the first “artist” they sign — after spotting a doodle he has done of a naked woman.
Art lovers ... Dev with Tara
Art lovers ... Dev with Tara
Tara and Dev have finally got their relationship on an even footing after she forgave him for sleeping with her mum Nina.
To make amends, Dev offers to bank-roll her art dream, promising the gallery will be a huge venture taking them up the social ladder.
He tells her: “The only thing we need do now is draw up the business plan and we, my dear, are about to make Tate Britain look like Little Britain.”
An ITV1 source told TV Biz: “Weatherfield is really changing at the moment. Now we’re getting an art gallery.”
Viewers will catch their first glimpse of the gallery next month.

Coronation Street star Craig Charles has reportedly launched an attack on the soap's fans.
The actor, who plays cabbie Lloyd Mullaney on the ITV1 show, is said to have complained about the harassment he receives from viewers as he spoke before doing a DJ stint in Leeds.
According to the News Of The World, Charles claimed that he can no longer regularly attend football matches with his two daughters because he is mocked so much.
He also allegedly stated that he believes the programme does not attract the same class of viewer as his cult BBC series Red Dwarf, on which he plays Dave Lister.
"I can go [to matches] a bit, but I get so much stick now, and you don't want your kids to hear that. I try and go in disguise," Charles is quoted as saying. "It's especially since I've been on Corrie, and since I started an affair with Liz McDonald.
"I've never had any problems like that with Red Dwarf fans, they're generally intelligent people. Maybe not so much with Corrie, it's kind of lowest common denominator stuff! Even so, the show gets 11 million a night - you can't argue with that."
Charles joined Coronation Street in July 2005. He signed a new three-year contract with the soap in April last year.

On a mission ... Kryten
A new episode of the sci-fi hit was filmed on the soap set and features Simon Gregson.
Kryten (Robert Llewelyn) and the crew track down ex-boss Lister (Craig Charles) to Weatherfield — where Craig, 44, plays Lloyd.
He was blasted yesterday for calling Corrie fans thick.

Me and Nicky were working out who Martha is....
She doesnt seem to belong, and it seems weird that she happens to be the interlectual person Ken always wanted to meet.....
Also we suspect Ken may be getting alzhimers D: leading up to the anniversary next year

I love Ken too much.
I don't mind as long as he NEVER leaves corrie.
