Yeah I noticed that, but in all fairness I do think his disability has been handed well, he hasn't just been in a wheelchair for a week and then able to walk again.
Felt sorry for Vanessa last night :(

I did to an extent about being forced to sleep with Harry because she is desperate not to lose Jodie, then I think she has herself to blame for keeping it secret that long and having a go at Darren because he decided to be honest where as she wanted to keep it secret but the truth does come out eventually;).
It's Jodie who I feel sorry for:(.

They better not:(, Alfie belongs to Kat and not having an affair with that bint.. however nothing will surprise me if the writers do a storyline like that.
Roxy prefers the hunks, please EE bring one in for her because she's already had Sean, Dr Al and Jack LOL and is better of being friends with Alfie for the banter;).

Lots of EE fans unhappy with the way the show is going at the moment. I hate this new Stacey, it's reminiscent of the Max/Stacey affair days. She hasn't stopped to think about Bradley at once, in all honesty I'm quite glad she's leaving for the sake of her character and her as an actress. It's such a shame she's been given such a crap exit storyline, all the hard work she's done for the show over the years and they give her this? It's unfair.
Only saving graces of the show for me lately are the older characters - Pat, Dot, even Glenda is growing on me a bit. Hate how their completely ruining Ian and Jane's marriage by making him have an affair. Bryan Kirkwood has ruined this show. :(

I hate how Ben has had a personality transplant. I think he's a better actor, but he's too different from the old Ben. Same thing happened with Lauren Branning, she's way different to the old one. It's as if the producers think we are dumb enough to be able to forget a character's personality.
Kerry
14-12-2010, 08:24 PM

The whole "Aunty Glenda" thing is actually revolting. You'd think she'd have more class to succumb to such low depths as having sex with a relative.

14-12-2010, 08:49 PM
I think the new Ben's an improvement in everyway, the change of personality is realistic really you wouldn't expect the character to come back into it with a musical number....well...not now  Lauren didn't have a personality before so the new her's an improvement too.

Liked Glenda tonight, even though her laying into practically everyone at the party was a bit OTT. Not a fan of Ronnie anymore so not happy to see her and Jack back and up to their usual tricks. New Ben sounds so different to the old one, not very fond of him at the moment. Loved the references from Kat and Alfie to Nana Moon, that's when I remember really loving the show, nice to know she's not forgotton.
I originally thought it was Peter who pushed Glenda but then the person picked up her ring and why would Peter want that for? So that makes me think it was Connor, becauce he could sell it off for a bit of cash although why he would push her down the stairs, I can't work out :conf:

It's a different actor, cut the producers some slack, they can't dub the old voice lol.

I know but old Ben used to have such an irritating childish voice and I find it hard to believe his voice could both break and completely change to "East End" in a matter of months.
Me too, Glenda's grown on me a lot lately.

I agree with your comments about Lauren. She's totally changed, too much for the show and I think that's the road that the producers are going down with the new Ben. I'm ashamed to say that I miss the old Ben quite a lot now.

His voice wasn't as deep as I expected. Kind of like Daniel Radcliffe's in the second Potter film, no longer "squeaky" but croaky rather than deep.
The accent is annoying though, it sounds as though the actor's trying too hard.

Former EastEnders star Natalie Cassidy is to make another appearance as Sonia Fowler in the New Year, Digital Spy can confirm.
In early 2011, fans will see Sonia return to Albert Square for one episode as she finds herself drawn into a new storyline centring around her half-sister Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer).
Sonia's sudden reappearance in Walford comes after a huge confrontation between Carol, Whitney and Connor sees truths emerge over Connor's relationships with Bianca's mother and stepdaughter.
After events come to a head, Bianca mysteriously disappears from the Square - but Sonia's comeback sees her provide some answers to questions that Carol and Ricky have about the feisty mum's whereabouts.
A Walford insider revealed: "True to form, Bianca has got herself into big trouble while trying to protect her family and, scared about what might happen, she does a runner.
"When she suddenly goes missing, Sonia turns up unannounced and drops the bombshell that she knows where Bianca is and what she is going to do next."
Sonia's brief return will also see some other truths revealed as viewers discover what she and husband Martin have been getting up to away from Walford.
Cassidy's last appearance in EastEnders was in February, when Sonia attended Ricky and Bianca's wedding.
Very happy about Sonia returning, will be good to see her again, just a shame she isn't coming back full time although I could see that happening soon to be honest, she hasn't been in anything much since leaving has she?

EastEnders hardman Phil Mitchell will suffer a heart attack in a dramatic new storyline, reports have revealed.
The show regular - played by Steve McFadden - will collapse at Walford nightclub R&R in the New Year as his health takes a sudden turn for the worse.
According to The Mirror, a further twist will see Phil taunted and "left for dead" by his long-time nemesis Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), who witnesses his shock medical scare.
The surprise turn of events comes after Phil discovers Ian's affair with Albert Square temptress Glenda (Glynis Barber) and demands cash in return for his silence - while continuing his own secret relationship with the blonde.
A source said: "Ian follows Phil into R&R to give him the [blackmail] money but he walks in on Phil and Glenda getting it on. The passion is too much for Phil and he collapses.
"Phil is gasping for air and Glenda is yelling for help. Ian tells her to go and call an ambulance while he waits. He then promises to tell Phil's girlfriend Shirley about his affair and take his son Ben to live with him if Phil doesn't make it. Ian then leaves him for dead."
Phil's new storyline is expected to air in January.

^ Just saw the video:D, ooh it's interesting. Although I do think that Stacey will manage to get away because Eastenders want Lacey Turner to return at some point in the future and plus Lacey said that Stacey's exit is relevant to the 6 years she's had on the square and that she is happy with it.
Although Archie was her dad Ronnie hated him and after what he did to her it would be stupid if she wanted the killer to pay, we all know Roxy would be the opposite but Stacey was Sean's sister so maybe she backs off, I doubt it though...

Christmas Day cheer in Albert Square? We should be so lucky. In what can only be deemed one of the bloody departures from all of soapland, ever, we must prepare ourselves for the imminent farewell of one of the show's most beloved characters. The only detail of the gory Christmas Day double bill we dare hint at is that it won't just be the oven-roasted turkeys feeling the edge of a carving knife
Apparently somebody is hospitalised after a stabbing and there's a shocking and unexpected visit on Boxing Day at the hospital.

I think Janine stabs Ryan after he with Max helps Stacey to escape from the police, I cannot see Eastenders killing her off as they want Lacey to return in the future and want Stacey to have an happy ending for once plus Lacey and Jake were spotted filming scenes at an airport, the Daily Mail in fact and they were the first to report about Bradley jumping off the Vic last year and were right despite a denial by EE bosses;).

This doesnt fill me with much joy. Eastenders can be lousy at bringing in new characters, particularly families (Ferreras, the recentish Wicks's, Denise's family), because they bombard the episodes rather than letting them settle in gradually. And I dont like seeing too much of a character before I get to know them.
That said, sometimes it works fine. The Slaters fitted in instantly, as did Ronnie and Roxy. So we'll see.

They will also see Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) rushed to hospital in blood-soaked pyjamas after husband Alfie (Shane Richie) finds her haemorrhaging in her bed.
Later Ronnie, who has already lost two children this year, swaps her dead baby for Kat's healthy one, which has been left alone at home amid the mayhem.
God, this is depressing even by Eastenders standards at Christmas.
This quote above suggests the baby is left at home alone when Kat is rushed to hospital. Bryan Kirkwood doesn't have a clue. I agree with the reviewer:

I was reading an article earlier and it said the episodes are made even more tragic by the camera angles and the silences. This is going to be hard viewing...
I really hope they do it justice though. Obviously Ronnie is mentally unwell and they need to show that properly, I hope it's not made into a storyline where it's going to build up to "When will Kat find out?" - that will be totally disrespectful if it's made like that, with trailers with text saying "How long until the secret's out?"

It would be good if they can hold the secret from Kat, this BIG secret none of the characters know except Ronnie and the audience. Maybe in 20 years time it could finally come out providing the show is still running, but, I doubt they'd do that.
Would be 1 big reveal!

Aye, I don't get how on DS people say they're "excited" for the episodes, it's totally the wrong word to use. I hate the baby swap angle about it too, it makes it seem sensationalist rather than being a moving story
'DS'; there's your problem.

Does Ryan go with Stacey? I'm guessing not :( He'd better not go back to his trampy wife

^ He might do Kerry because Neil McDermott who plays him is on paternity leave unless he's already returned with EE filming so far in advance.
This baby swap is going to be heartbreaking, Jessie and Sam are going to be brilliant acting it out and bound to affect them being mothers themselves plus it'll be great to see Shane doing some non comedy material. Only certainty is that this storyline is probably the ending of Ronnie's character:(.

Personally I can't stand Ryan. He's more of a walking STD than Whitney. Confessed to loving Janine yet all that feeling's gone away now, how believable. I don't buy the fling with Stacey neither, her true love was Bradley and the way she's acting is totally disrespectful to him, I loved Max's line yesterday "What about Bradley?" - she seems to have forgot about him. I'm glad she's going now before they ruin the character even more.
What is it with EE and making characters unlikeable just before they leave? Key examples are Peggy and now Stacey

I agree, it seems Santer and Kirkwood both had different views of those characters but what is certain is that they are great characters individually and hopefully people remember the good times over the bad:).

Love Janine. Take Stacey down.
About the baby swap, if it's done as realistic as Billy's death episode then it will be effective. But as a storyline it's just gonna completely destroy what's left of Ronnie's character. I'd say give it six months before Samantha Janus announces she's leaving. Then the "reveal" will be next Christmas.
Was watching some clips on Youtube from when Ronnie and Roxy first joined and they've took Ronnie down the wrong route. I really liked her back then.

Interesting fact Max has appeared in the most episodes this year followed by Phil and Roxy then Stacey according to the list on Walford Webs...

Delighted Stacey Slater got away and she got Julia's theme:), I actually shed a tear over her exit but less than I did at the Bipolar storyline:joker::blush:. Took her ages to leave, how did she pass security as surely the local police would know with word being spread LOL and how did she board a flight that quick.
Loved the final scenes with Max and LOL Janine did all that for nothing:devil:. Jean was great too, being against Stacey at first, had a feeling that despite everything Stacey means everything to her so would eventually realise that Stacey needed to go and that Janine lied about one thing.
Archie was an evil man and Max finally got Ronnie to see sense during her he's my dad speech with ''Why do you care, you hated him'', Ronnie probably thought at least Stacey had the guts to do it:D. Roxy clearly angry and glad Ronnie shut her up!

I know:bawling:, the woman next to Stacey gave Lily a right dirty look LOL.
Janine sinks to new lows but Charlie Brooks has been fab, she also did well in the live episode but has always been a decent actress despite always sounding out of breath or kinda losing her voice, just not as good as Lacey Turner IMO:p.

Loved tonight's episode, was such a good send off to Stacey. I loved her knocking back Max and Ryan's advances to say she loved Bradley, that was so nice. The stabbing twist shocked me, Janine is such an evil cow but it was done brilliantly. The ending made me cry too, so sad we're never going to see her again. I think's she's probably my favorite EE character of all time.
Lacey Turner is such an incredible actress

Lacey has always liked the Bradley thing but the writers have been inconsistent with her character for a while now. BIB applies to me too!
I reckon that Lacey will do fine, sure some casting people have been watching her performances and are impressed, I can see her returning in the future and hopefully if that happens they do a better job and make her bubbly again;).

Yeah I agree, she was given horrific material to work with in her last few weeks and the writing was damaging to the character but I still felt a lot of compassion for her seeing her depart on the plane. What does BIB mean?
I do too, I hope so anyway. I think it would be a shame to see Lacey appear on shows such as Strictly or IAC, although I think she could easily win both it could hurt her career and she deserves something better than having to compete in relality telvision. I can too actually, if she doesn't find much work, I don't see why she wouldn't want to come back but then again they made such a fuss of her exit and used Julia's theme so maybe she doesn't want to come back.

Actors know their characters better than the producers tbh. I can't see Lacey Turner doing reality TV LOL she's too shy, BIB means bit in bold.
I think she'll have impressed lots of people in the acting industry and like other Eastenders actors/actresses will be given that chance to do something else and she'll succeed:).
Aww it feels weird seeing Branning as her last name as to me she'll always be a Slater at heart:hugesmile:.

How is it?, Stacey came into the show as a Slater and is only a Branning through marriage and most of them in the Branning/Jackson lot disliked her apart from Bradley and Max. Most people remember her as Stacey Slater so the cap fits...

Watched last nights episode again:blush:, Lacey, Jake, Gillian, Charlie and Sam all acted their socks off last night.
Disappointed Kat and Stacey didn't have a final scene together:(, Kat supported Stacey during the Ryan thing plus the producers forgot that Stacey gave Zoe, who she disliked an alibi for Den Watt's murder only because of Kat but glad Stacey and Zoe made up before Kat and Alfie took Zoe to the train station:D. Kat would have helped Stacey to escape because of that fact!
