TEENAGER Jay Brown’s life is put in danger when he agrees to be a witness in the trial of a local gang leader.

Fans were shocked by last month’s scenes, which showed young Jay stabbed in the leg by a thug called Teg when he stood up to his bullying antics.

Next week Jay agrees to give evid-ence against the notorious criminal.

But Jay (Jamie Borthwick, 14) is suddenly in the firing line when Teg’s family and twisted associates come out of the woodwork to threaten him.

Even Teg’s mum, Tina, pounces on Jay when she spots him walking home alone after dark.

She pulls him into a corner and warns him that if he testifies against her son he can expect to see his entire family in danger as she will take her revenge.

Poor Jay is left shaking in fear as he worries for Dawn Swann (Kara Tointon, 24) and her baby Summer – who have just started living with him and his dad, Jase Dyer.

Jay confides in Dawn and she stands by him, telling him he cannot give in to the bullies.

But later the sexy young mum comes face to face with Tina herself and realises just how dangerous the yob’s mother can be.

The major twist is that Tina under-estimates the normally meek and mild Dawn’s temper.

And when she breaks some of Summer’s toys to try to scare Dawn, it has precisely the opposite effect.

Dawn launches a blistering attack on the chav mum, who is left cowering as she is read the riot act.

She is then sent packing and warned never to go near Jay again.

An EastEnders insider said: “Dawn can be feisty when she wants to – especially when someone threatens her family.

“And she certainly sees Jay as one of her own now.

“Tina didn’t stand a chance!”

How annoying was Max last night? I can't wait for Tanya to get her revenge by burying him alive. When I first heard about that I thought it was too severe for Tanya's character but over the last few weeks I understand how he drives her to do it. After yesterday's episode I was like pass me a shovel and I'll help you bury him:bigsmile:

I think EE bosses must be mad for axing Steven. He has great long-term potential.

ROXANNE McKee is quitting Hollyoaks and is desperate for a role in EastEnders.

The beauty, who plays Louise Summers in the Channel 4 soap, wants to move on to a bigger show and thinks Albert Square would be her ideal new home.

Pin-up Roxanne, 27, has told pals she would love to join ex-Hollyoaks co-star Gemma Bissex, who is now starring in the BBC1 soap as Claire Bates.

She is set to leave in October. A friend said: “Roxanne has loved being in Hollyoaks but feels it is time to move on.

“She’s been in talks with her management about roles in the more popular soaps.

“Hollyoaks has been a great place for her to start out as an actress but she is ready for a fresh challenge.”

Former politics student Roxanne worked as a waitress and a recruitment consultant before wowing Hollyoaks bosses at an open audition in 2005.

EastEnders actors Joe Swash and David Spinx have been axed from the BBC soap after being told their characters had "run out of steam".

The pair – who have played son and stepfather duo Mickey and Keith Miller since 2003 and 2004 respectively – were called into a meeting with executive producer Diederick Santer on Friday when he revealed that their contracts would not be renewed.

A friend of 26-year-old Swash told The Sun: "He and David were told their characters had run out of steam by EastEnders boss Diederick Santer. Joe was stunned at first. He's loved playing Mickey and felt the fans still enjoyed watching his antics."

They added: "But he soon realised if the stories weren't there, he didn't want to be just going through the motions. He's now thinking over his next move carefully. He doesn't want to become just another former soap star."

The news comes just weeks after the announcement that Rob Kazinsky (Sean Slater) and Mo George (Gus Smith) are to quit their East-End roles at the end of the year. Only days earlier, it was revealed that Aaron Sidwell's character Steven Beale is to be written out of the show in a shock bisexual plot.

Swash recently split with his lover Emma Sophocleous only months after she gave birth to their son, Harry. Sophocleous later blasted her former lover for 'leaving her in the lurch'.

Aww! Two more departures announced.^^

EastEnders is the best soap around at the moment. However much I enjoy the rest, EastEnders has been the one to stick to its roots throughout its whole history. Coronation Street dramatically degraded itself, but EastEnders has stuck to the same format its always had. One of the best shows around IMO

Loved tonight's episode. I really liked the Peggy/Charlie stuff, that was funny. That cheeky homeless girl was a bitch stealing Steven's wallet though, and there's me thinking she was alright. :bored: Nice to see more of Stacey as well. I think Tanya's having second thoughts about seeing Max again... (I wish she would see how much of a rat he is!)

LOVERAT Max Branning’s deadly fate is sealed – with a smouldering kiss in EastEnders.

Our exclusive picture shows scorned wife Tanya getting together with Sean Slater on Thursday as she hatches her evil plan to bury Max alive.

The pair share a passionate smooch after Sean (Robert Kazinksky) tells Tanya (Jo Joyner) he wants her to run away with him.

But Tanya is set on revenge and persuades Sean to wait until Max has signed the house over to her.

A BBC source said: “Sean wants to put the past behind him but Tanya is determined to settle the score first. Sean agrees to help her get revenge – and Max’s money.”

Looks like Max is in grave danger . . .

Babyfather star Don Gilet is to play Chelsea Fox's (Tiana Benjamin) long-lost father in EastEnders.

The actor, who also appeared in 55 Degrees North, stars as ne'er-do-well Lucas Johnson, who turns up in Walford after Easter to find the daughter he walked out on when she was a baby.

However, Chelsea had hoped that her dad might be a wealthy businessman and his arrival proves to be a major disappointment.

A show source told The Mirror: "Lucas is attractive, charismatic, strong and forthright but that isn't enough for Chelsea.

"Having never met her dad, who walked out on mum Denise when she was a baby, she's always imagined him as a flash businessman. But actually, he's just a dodgy geezer with a murky past."

Diane Parish (Denise) will return later in the year after giving birth to her second daughter.

I knew her dad would turn up because they were talking about it after Kevin lol x

Phil and Jase Spoiler:
It's clear that Ben's not happy with the prospect of boxing and tells Phil that he's too ill. Ben soon brightens up when he realises that the boxing competition is only shadow boxing but Phil isn't impressed. Jack notices that atmosphere is tense between Phil and Jase as Jase warns Phil to watch how far he pushes him. Tensions rise, resulting in the pair entering the ring themselves. They only manage to land a couple of punches before the fight defuses.

When they return home, Ben confesses to his dad that he didn't enjoy watching him fight. Phil reassures Ben that he doesn't have to box if he doesn't want to – he's just proud watching Ben do things. When Phil leaves the room, Ben turns on the musical DVD… When Jase enters The Vic later, it's clear that the feud between the warring fathers is finally over.

The actress has had it shouted at her almost daily - even by her daughter.

Patsy, who last appeared as the nagging wife of longsuffering Ricky Butcher in 1999, said: "Not a day has gone by in nine years when someone hasn't shouted that from cars and even up at my bedroom window at night.

"Even my daughter said it and that was like a horror film. She was making fun of me as she said it!"

Patsy and Sid Owen are to be reunited in the BBC soap as Bianca and Ricky return to the Square.

Speaking together for the first time since their comeback was announced, they admitted their characters have changed.

Patsy, 35, said: "I think as far as Bianca is concerned, Ricky has grown up and is not as much of a fool. He doesn't stand for her mouth as much."

Sid, 36, added: "He gives as good as he gets now. He's learned to ignore the shouting from Bianca. For me it's like a swear word now, the shouting of 'Rickaaay!'." Sid and Patsy both live in Brighton and regularly meet up away from work.

Sid said: "Its great travelling up with Patsy for filming."

Patsy added: "We're such good friends and spend so much time together. It's shocked us how much we've enjoyed ourselves since coming back. We laugh so much!"

Their characters will be reunited at the end of the month at the funeral of Ricky's dad Frank - who was played by the late Mike Reid.

Patsy said: "Their relationship is great and definitely what the viewers will want to see."

As for their opening scenes, Sid said: "Let's just say that there's screaming and shouting, but Ricky and Bianca will always be close."

Ricky will have a new girlfriend - posh Melinda, played by My Family's Siobhan Hayes - but Sid said he couldn't rule out Ricky rekindling his romance with Bianca.

He said: "Who knows, anything could happen. There is huge chemistry and history, so there will be a lot of drama."

Still, one thing hasn't changed. Patsy said of the scripts: "They've made fun of Bianca shouting 'Rickaaay!'."

MORE bovver for EastEnders – another Mitchell is bound for Walford.

Archie, played by Larry Lamb, 60, is Ronnie and Roxy’s dad and the younger brother of Peggy’s dead hubby Eric.

The soap’s chief Diederick Santer said: “Archie is a Mitchell through and through.”

True to form, Peggy will fall for the rough diamond when he arrives this summer.

MONEY-mad Clare makes Bradley her next target as he celebrates landing a well-paid job. They share a steamy embrace on the dancefloor in R&R * leaving Stacey seething with jealousy!

"Clare sees Bradley as someone she can manipulate into earning money for her!" says Gemma Bissix, who plays her. "It is purely about cash at the moment. Bradley is love-sick, pathetic and a bit of an easy ride as far as Clareąs concerned!"

At the start of the week, Bradley chats about how to spend his new wealth with Mickey, Gus and Clare * whose eyes light up at the mere mention of money!

That night, they all go to R&R to celebrate. The guys ogle Clare, who once again is dressed to thrill. Mickey and Gus reckon she is out of their league, but chancer Garry tries to pull her.

When Clare spots Bradley she quickly gives Garry the brush-off. She asks Bradley to pretend he is her new boyfriend to stop the other lads leering at her.

Stacey is in the club with Steven and watches aghast as Clare slips Bradley's arm round her waist and whispers in his ear. Stacey flips and storms off!

Later, Stacey is stunned to see Clare and Bradley walking home from the club together. Clare fixes Stacey with a steely glare, then smiles smugly!

"Clare is deliberately winding Stacey up," reveals Gemma. "She is competition for Bradley's affections, so needs showing who's boss!"

EastEnders star Rob Kazinsky has vowed to "aim for the top" when he leaves the soap later this year.

The actor announced that he had quit his role as Sean Slater on the BBC One show in January. He will continue filming until his contract expires in October.

"I'd love to be the next James Bond or do any kind of film with loads of action in it," Rob told the Daily Star. "I'm a fully-trained stuntman so that's something I would love to do. There are so many things I want to try. I haven't done theatre, comedy, presenting or even films.

"It is a huge risk to leave a well-paid, regular job, but I have always been a bit stupid! I will go over to America for six months to a year and see how it goes. I will aim for the top. If I fail, then at least I can say I tried. I'm aiming high - but why not?"

Kazinsky also promised that his character will be involved in plenty of dramatic storylines over the next few months.

"Sean is about to get darker than ever," he explained. "He's been more like a blancmange recently, he's been that soft! But he's about to get seriously twisted."

EastEnders' scrap plans for Spain episodes
Sunday, March 9 2008, 11:32 GMT

By Daniel Kilkelly, Entertainment Reporter

EastEnders producers have been forced to scrap plans to film a week's worth of episodes in Spain.

Chiefs had hoped to send the Mitchell family abroad for a special summer storyline, but they were told that it would not be possible due to cutbacks at the BBC.

"There's been a lot of cost-cutting recently and they couldn't justify taking the Mitchells abroad," an insider told the Daily Star Sunday. "They then hoped to keep the same dates and take them to Norfolk but it was even dearer. They're now looking at the south coast.

"The Mitchells are the most popular family in soap, so everyone is excited about filming the special episodes which will be shown in July."

Aw! :( It would have been good to see some episodes away from the square, especially with the Mitchells!

BRAVE EastEnders favourite John Bardon is set to stun fans by returning to the show just months after suffering a serious stroke.

John, 68, who plays Dot Cotton’s hubby Jim Branning, is still regaining speech and walking ability after last June’s attack.

But he has told TV bosses he wants to get back to the Square.

Jim’s absence was also blamed on a stroke.

In a special solo show earlier this year, Dot was seen recording a message telling her hubby she couldn’t face caring for him at home.

Just weeks ago June, 81, revealed she missed John “very much”. She said she “shed a couple of tears” while watching her solo episode.

And a show insider told The Sun: “June is thrilled John is returning.”

Grumpy

June had said she felt “grumpy” since John’s departure left her with fewer good storylines.

She said: “You get cross and grumpy sometimes, or resentful.

“You don’t get good storylines and you hang around just to say lines like, ‘I’ll have a tomato juice’.” But last week EastEnders executive producer Diederick Santer visited John – being cared for by wife Enda – about his comeback.

A show source said: “John is doing really well and we’re overwhelmed he wants to return.

“Other people who have suffered serious strokes can be given a boost by watching John.”

John will go back to the EastEnders studios in Elstree, Herts, in the summer.

But the whole plan will depend on his rehabilitation.

June – who has made frequent visits to her co-star – said: “He is walking now and can move his arm again. He just needs to work on talking.”

YAY! It's so good to hear he's back, I've missed Jim.

HERE’S a little EastEnders storyline to make you chuckle – for a change.

We’ve never thought of strapping Phil Mitchell as a twinkle-toes but he gets a shock when his lad Ben (Charlie Jones) wants to be the next Billy Elliot, although Peggy is quick to buy tap shoes.

We’re guessing Phil won’t be thrilled over Ben in a tutu.

Actress Wendy Richard has revealed she left BBC soap EastEnders because of stress.

Richard, who played Pauline Fowler between 1985 and 2006, quit the show due to storyline disagreements and a heavy workload.

Speaking to The Mirror, Richard admitted: "I feel better in myself. I have no stress anymore.

"It's quite a release. Life is more relaxed. My shoulders were tight all the time before."

Producers had wanted Pauline to remarry but Richard resisted, feeling that her character was still in love with late husband Arthur.

"I consider EastEnders to be in the past, finished. I stopped watching it before I left," Richard added.

Richard admitted that she still keeps in touch with her onscreen family, Natalie Cassidy, Todd Carty and James Alexandrou, saying: "I don't feel like I've lost my family. We meet up when we can."

The 64-year-old will next be seen in ITV comedy Benidorm before appearing in Miss Marple drama A Pocket Full of Rye.

Week 14 Press Office Spoilers
Monday 31st March

Peggy is determined to get to the bottom of Pat's move to Spain and is convinced there is a man involved, in tonight's first visit of the week to Albert Square.

Chelsea, meanwhile, is hell-bent on finding her father but her sister, Libby, is reticent.

Tuesday 1st April

Pat is making preparations for Frank's funeral but she and Peggy begin to disagree – before they know it they are arguing at full tilt and exchanging not just cruel words, but slaps, too.

The funeral, however, turns into a proper East End send-off.

Thursday 3rd April

Bianca is struggling to cope, which leads to a dire situation for her and the children, in tonight's visit to Albert Square. A visit to social services proves fruitless so Bianca is forced to take matters into her own hands.

Pat, suspicious of Janine's motivation for returning to Walford, lays a trap for her. But is Janine quite as hard-hearted as she thought?

Elsewhere, Chelsea goes to find her dad.

Friday 4th April

Bianca and her kids are huddled together in a bus shelter in the week's final visit to Albert Square. She's still struggling to find a room and calls Ricky, but then does a runner – afraid he'll find out the truth.

Frank's last wishes are read out at the Vic as he requested, while Pat's about to head off for a new life in Spain.

Can't wait for Bianca to return! Not long now...

HEARTACHE is in store for Ian Beale when his daughter Lucy goes missing and police discover a body.

The chip shop boss is devastated when the blonde teenager fails to turn up at school.

He quickly launches a missing person campaign, but fails to tell officers that he slapped Lucy *during a fierce row the night before she went missing.

And when they call round and reveal they have found the body of a young girl, Ian is distraught.

Adam Woodyatt, 39, who plays Ian, confesses: “It’s every parent’s worst nightmare.

“Ian ends up meeting a homeless girl at the police station and there’s an emotional scene where he begs her to go home.

“He knows that her parents will be just like him, panicking and *despairing.”

The drama unfolds after Lucy throws a wild party and trashes the house.

When he returns to their home, Ian hits the roof. And when Lucy hits him, he slaps her back.

She skips school the following day and does not make it home that night, so Ian is forced to call the police.

He stays quiet about slapping Lucy (Melissa Suffield, 15), even though her half-brother Steven (Aaron Sidwell, 19) saw everything.

Ian reckons if police find out about the scuffle, they will turn the spotlight on him and even blame him for her disappearance.

A Walford mole confessed: “Ian doesn’t know what to do with himself and is consumed with guilt over his argument with Lucy.

“He just prays everything is going to be OK, but it looks like his heartache could last a few more weeks.”

Some New Spoilers:
Sean is onscreen until Christmas/New Year.
Jean is fantastic and he hopes she's there for a while.
Bianca and Ricky will be VERY different to before. Bianca's in a very dark time.
Tanya DOES bury Max alive with Sean's help. The storyline is to test whether Tanya really has it in her though.
He likes Shirley and Phil, there's a lot of potential with them.
Bradley and Stacey do love each other, so there could still be a chance.

PREVIEW OF FRANK WEEK: April 1st... Janine & Pat
Pat made a comment about Janine being there for the will. Janine thanked Pat for looking after her, she saw her as a mum. Pat said she wasn't lumbered. Janine thanked her for saying that, it means a lot. Pat, obviously, was pleasantly surprised. Something tells me it wasn't a genuine thank you however.

Eastenders hardman Sean Slater puts the frighteners on a drug dealer in Walford's R&R club - despite being sacked by owner Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Janus) just hours earlier.

In violent scenes to be screened next week ex-squaddie Slater (Robert Kazinsky, whose sister Stacey (Lacey Turner) recently collapsed from an overdose, drags the dealer into an alley to mete out his own punishment.
