Redway, my Husband has been diagnosed with rapid bipolar for maybe 15 years now, and actually is a lot like her in many ways. There are many different types of Bipolar, 1, 2...mixed, cyclothymia, rapid etc. Not quite sure which ones she's mean to have but the erratic tantrums she takes are similar to that of hubby.
Awww...I miss Afia too. Is she gone for good, or is the door left open?

Woah EastEnders is deep today with Jean fighting back against Michael and him showing remorse then crying.
Kim made me laugh when they all went to Janine's hen do and it was nice to see Diane/Ricky.

A half-decent episode, bar the appearance of Tyler, Anthony and (to a lesser extent) Derek. The bit where we were all wondering whether Janine and Michael were going to get married was brilliant. I'm also liking Joey and it's nice to have a new character who can actually act and has potential.

This is a complaint sent in from a Digital Spy member in regard to Wednesday's episode:
"Dear BBC
I, along with many people, were offended by last night's episode of Eastenders, featuring the start of the colloquial "Who shagged Kat" storyline. This thread contains various viewpoints on it (http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1687308) but I personally wish to make a complaint around the character of Kat Moon. Indeed, this whole week I wish to complain about her characterisation. She has been treated like a tart in every possible way. There are a few offensive things in particular I wish to complain about.
Kat's Attire, and her handling of herself - Sure, 8:30 was the latest this week but there have been episodes before 8 this week. And yet in most of the episodes, Kat has had her breasts prominently displayed and a lot of attention has been drawn to her rear end. I feel that this is inappropriate for pre-watershed things, especially as she herself has been drawing attention to her assets.
Kat's Language - Many people, including myself are sickened and offended by the insane amount of double entendre's and euphemisms Kat has been using lately. Indeed, the pre-show announcement was just as bad (The queen vic team is ready for action and someone is about to score). Some of her comments include ""Caught with their pants down"
"Smash it"
"Play dirty""
On another note, the show's quality has been severely lacking this week, and a lot of people just are not interested in this storyline.
Yours

Dreadful episode. Everything about it was wrong.
-We HATE you Kat Moon, we do....honestly what a pathetic excuse for a storyline, the whole episode was just her whoring herself out to everyone, I can't even believe they thought this was a good storyline at all. It's a complete disgrace....it's making all the men look like rabid dogs and all the women like desperate sluts who should just cheat on their husbands because they have low self esteem. What kind of moral/story is this telling? It's ok to cheat and act like a *****??
LOLA!!! What is wrong with this child? Breaking and entering whilst on a prison curfew? Really?! She actually thought it was OK to break into a pub with a prison tag around her ankle? MY GOSH. Again what kind of story is this telling? Being a teen mum on the verge of imprisonment means you are above the law....?! What ridiculousness is that?
Jay...after all the fuss he made over Abi we have to watch him flirting with Lola then kissing her? Yet another pointless dreadful storyline where we have to watch affairs and debauchery play out yet again.
And then we have Ben....writing 'I miss you Heather' in her birthday card....you killed her, moron! FFS. I just cannot even talk about that any longer. What a disgrace.
This episode was a complete mess and a joke. Kat may as well have stripped naked on the bar and shouted 'oi me husband ain't up to much and I'm just a slapper any way and I fancy some c**k...any takers?'....Just ****.
Sorry to rant, and some of the bad grammar, but that episode was by far one of the worst I've ever ever seen from EE. It felt like a joke and a slap in the face from BK. It literally felt like it was making a mockery of all the viewers. Just absolute trash. I can't even rate this episode.

Shona McGarty suspended from 'EastEnders' for persistent lateness
Shona McGarty has been suspended from EastEnders for four weeks, it has been confirmed.
The 20-year-old, who plays Whitney Dean on the Walford soap, was punished after being previously warned about her persistent lateness to arrive on set, according to the Daily Star Sunday.
She was reportedly told of her suspension personally by EastEnders executive producer Lorraine Newman, who was said to have "read the riot act" to McGarty after the actress's behaviour irritated cast members and crew.
A BBC source revealed to the paper: "Shona failed to turn up on time on more than one occasion and was really laid back about why she was late. People are understanding when it's once or even twice but her lateness was becoming a huge problem.
"It regularly held up the filming of vital scenes and angered fellow cast and crew members who were forced to work late because of her. Like all soaps, everyone works long, hard days so when things are prolonged because of one person it doesn't go down well on set.
"There were a lot of unhappy people so Lorraine had no choice but to take action. Shona was read the riot act and apologised for her behaviour. Obviously, she's not happy about what's happened and was quite upset about it all afterwards."
An EastEnders spokesperson also confirmed: "Shona has been suspended for repeatedly being late."
McGarty was previously reported to have got herself into trouble after throwing yoghurt around in a branch of Asda in March, along with boyfriend and co-star Matt Lapinskas (Anthony Moon).

Lucy, Lauren and Whitney plan to do some volunteer work in exchange for gig tickets, but Lauren tries to bail out when she discovers that it will involve feeding the homeless.
However, after a long day of volunteering, Lauren is shocked to see a familiar face amongst the homeless - albeit blackened and sporting a dirty, matted beard.

Lauren plucks up the courage to tell a sceptical Tanya and Max the truth about Ian's disappearance - and where she has seen him. But their search proves fruitless when a young homeless girl takes them for a ride - and they start to wonder if they are wasting their time.

EastEnders' Alfie, Kat 'to close down Queen Vic due to fleas()
The Queen Vic will reportedly be closed down in an upcoming storyline in EastEnders.
Kat (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) will struggle with finances after the pub has to be fumigated due to a flea infestation, according to The Sun.
The closure and subsequent money issues will add to the ongoing marriage problems between the pair.
"This is a huge blow for Kat and Alfie," a source said. "They've been struggling to make ends meet and lose thousands while the pub is shut.
"They have no idea who brought the fleas in and are determined to get to the bottom of it."
The pub's usual patrons are then reluctant to return following the infestation, the source added. "They were scared of spreading the insect invasion to their own homes.
"Kat and Alfie's relationship has been strained for months and this only adds to their problems."
Kat Moon is currently embroiled in a secret affair with an unknown Walford resident, unbeknownst to her husband Alfie.

Rudolph Walker has said that it is important for EastEnders to retain its sense of humour.
The 72-year-old, who has played Patrick Trueman on the soap for 11 years, said that there are still many moments of levity on the show, despite its somewhat miserable reputation.
Walker is quoted as telling Inside Soap that this is the reason he is still happy to work on the programme, despite his advancing years.
He said: "The camaraderie keeps me going. Being in EastEnders is challenging at this stage in my career, and the demands are far greater than they used to be.
"Turning up on set every day and keeping the character fresh is hard work, but I do it with a smile.
"As long as Patrick continues to run the gauntlet of emotions and there's humour in the show, I'll be happy."
Walker said last year that he would "never retire" from EastEnders, arguing that actors are supposed "to drop down on the job".
Patrick has recently been left distraught by Heather Trott's murder, but things start looking up for him when he embarks on a fling with Tanya Branning's mother Cora Cross.
Walker commented: "Patrick enjoys the thrill of the chase - and the conquest!
"He'll continue to investigate the prospect and see what happens between him and Cora."

BK's reign had it's positive and negative points but he did inject some light hearted fun into the show at times and I think Lorraine Newman will continue this, good to have a balance although I love watching EastEnders when it is gritty and dark sticking to it's true roots.

EastEnders Spoilers- 13 to 17 August 2012- Sharon's Back :amazed:
(Day & Times to be confirmed)
Episode 1
Phil tries desperately to keep his family from falling apart - and has a glimmer of hope when, for once, a past Mitchell crime plays in his favour.
Tanya is not impressed when she arrives home to find a blonde stranger wearing her clothes. But while she and Sharon have got off on the wrong foot, Sharon has caught the eye of another Branning - so will she succumb to his charms?
Episode 2
The future of the Mitchells rests solely on Shirley - will she choose her family, or does she want justice for her best friend?
As reality kicks in, Sharon realises that she has to find somewhere to stay - but just as she is about to head to the B&B she is offered a roof over her head by one of Walford’s sexiest men...
Ian struggles to get used to the changes that have taken place within his family. Although he feels that Lucy is letting him back in, she sticks to her ultimatum for the sake of her and Bobby.

Agree with what they're saying on DS. The spoilers regarding Sharon are a bit disappointing and I hope they don't put her with the Brannings as she's more of a Mitchell girl. I think 'Walford's sexiest man' is supposed to be Jack.
Apart from that the Ian and Shirley storylines sound interesting.

I think they could have a Tornado in a UK soap, as the UK actually gets more a year, per square mile than any other country... It's just that the ones we get are usually small, but sometimes they are big enough to cause damage, flatten houses etc... Would be good idea for them if they ever get round to moving the set, as it would be a good excuse for buildings looking newer :D
Did anyone notice that the opening titles on last nights EastEnders were the older ones, without the Olympic Park on them?? Seems odd when the Olympics are taking place right now! :conf:

I think they could have a Tornado in a UK soap, as the UK actually gets more a year, per square mile than any other country... It's just that the ones we get are usually small, but sometimes they are big enough to cause damage, flatten houses etc... Would be good idea for them if they ever get round to moving the set, as it would be a good excuse for buildings looking newer :D
Did anyone notice that the opening titles on last nights EastEnders were the older ones, without the Olympic Park on them?? Seems odd when the Olympics are taking place right now! :conf:
I don't tend to dabble into insignificant and trivial terminlogy, but I noticed that as well.

EastEnders bosses have announced plans to reference Team GB's Olympic success in Tuesday night's episode of the soap.
A special scene will be filmed tomorrow (August 7) celebrating the recent achievements of British Olympians, before being slotted in for broadcast later in the evening.
The scene in question will feature Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), Tyler Moon (Tony Discipline) and Ray Dixon (Chucky Venn) as they praise Team GB and discuss how proud they feel to be living in London.
Today's news comes a fortnight after EastEnders marked the Olympics with special live scenes showing Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) carrying the Olympic torch.
EastEnders' executive producer Lorraine Newman commented: "Following EastEnders' involvement with the Olympic torch relay, we are delighted to have the opportunity to reflect the current sentiment of the entire country. Team GB have made so many people truly proud to be British and we wish them continued success."
Previous last-minute EastEnders scene additions have included references to Michael Jackson's death, Obama's Presidency and the 2010 general election. Footage of the Royal Wedding was also included in an episode last year, just hours after the ceremony had taken place.
EastEnders will air the Team GB scene tomorrow (August 7) at 7.30pm on BBC Two.

Friday, Aug 31 - Phil attempts to persuade a drunken Shirley to talk through their difficulties.
Does this mean he says goodbye to Ben?
Also....
Friday, Aug 31 - Meanwhile, Tanya and Sharon spend time together in the hope of building a new friendship between them and their sons - but punches are soon being thrown.
Does this possibly mean that they are in fact sisters?

No. Sharon's real mother was discovered in the early '90s. I think Sharon sleeps with Max or something, which I don't like the sound of at all.

From DS:
Over on EastEnders, Anthony Moon will soon be forced to turn his back on Walford after losing everything.
Things finally seem to be looking up for Anthony (Matt Lapinskas) over the next few days as his relationship with Alice Branning intensifies.
When the pair arrange a date and finally get some alone time together, they share a kiss and both enjoy it. Alice (Jasmyn Banks) seems to be far more confident than Anthony expected, but he is still worrying about the disapproval of her overprotective father and brother.
http://i1.cdnds.net/12/33/618x644/1974356-low_res-eastenders.jpg
The next day, Joey steps up his scheming by telling Anthony that the only way to win over Derek (Jamie Foreman) is with a poker game.
At first, Derek isn't interested in playing against Anthony, but he changes his mind when Joey lies that the antiques dealer was bragging about how easy it would be to beat him.
As the game gets under way between the three men, Joey is the first to fold - leaving Anthony out of his depth with Derek. Anthony's cash soon runs out, but Derek tempts him to up the stakes by throwing in the keys to the antiques emporium.
With his gambling demons rearing their ugly head, Anthony agrees to the bet - but he's soon left horrified when Derek wins the game.
A desperate Anthony begs for mercy, but instead Derek hands him some cash for a one-way ticket away from Walford. Having gambled his life away, Anthony is then left with no choice but to leave the Square…

The last fews years, the exit have been really lame,
Can anyone remember any good exit?
or any BIG story lines
for past 2 and half years.
I can not thing of one!
(This when BK first started I think, or do you think this was DS Work leftover?
The only week i can remember was Lucas reveal and Ronnie Rape reveal week!
When Diederick Santer so many good story lines (2007- 2010)
Stacey and Max fall out
Stacey's bipolar.
Tony/Whitney paedophil
Masoods into Walford
Danielle's death
Who Killed Arichie
Syed Masood and Christian Clarke
Tanya Buried max (I enjoyed it lol )
it was so much more darker with his story lines
I do think Diederick Santer is bit to blame for the show at the moment as after live ep in 2010, it was getting a little messy and some stuff did not make sense

Last good exit? Dennis Rickman...2005.
As for the Santer bit...meh. I enjoyed his 2007 work and bits of 2009 but overall it was a crap period for the show. The day-to-day episodes were a chore to watch and only his big episodes were worth tuning in for. The pacing and continuity during this period was pretty bad as well.
I'm not buying this notion that Santer was the best thing since sliced bread. He pretty much destroyed the show with sensationalist, badly paced storylines et all. Granted, he looks like Shakespeare compared to Kirkwood but he was still bad. Vastly overrated.

I going judge her by this week, hoping aftermath is not ruined by other rubbish
He had me hooked on every episodes, I know the slow build up story lines got annoying at times but they all came to great end!
I don't think I missed one episode for his period, with BK i have miss tons and same goes all Louise Berridge, Kathleen Hutchison ,Kate Harwood ,
Santer was better then all those as did bring show out of hole it was in then.
The best guys were Matthew Robinson and John Yorke both Better then Santer
i am not sure about Lorraine Newman at the moment, I don't she last that long at all.

New EastEnders star Gary Lucy is joining the soap as its latest gay character.
The former Hollyoaks actor arrives in Walford next month as city banker Danny Pennant.
But a shock storyline will see him become involved in a love triangle with Albert Square couple Christian Clarke and Syed Masood.
A soap insider said: “All the girls think he’s a real ladies’ man. But they’re soon disappointed when it turns out he’s not interested in women.
“He’ll ruffle a few feathers and Christian and Syed’s relationship will be tested.”
Essex-born Gary has been given a three-month contract on the BBC1 soap but bosses will be tempted to keep him long-term if he’s a hit with viewers.
