Tina O'Brien is expecting first child
http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/08/14/160x120_tinaobrien_rex01.jpg
Former Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien is pregnant with her first child.
The actress and her partner Ryan Thomas, better known as Weatherfield builder Jason Grimshaw, celebrated their happy news at a family dinner earlier this week.
A source told The Sun: "The baby wasn't planned, but now the news has sunk in they couldn't be happier."
Tina admitted last year that her part as mum Sarah Platt on the ITV1 soap was making her feel "broody". However, her main focus had been on finding work after filming her final scenes for the show.
A Corrie spokeswoman said: "Ryan and Tina can confirm they are expecting a baby and are absolutely delighted at the happy news."

Blanche is just a living legend :laugh2: Never fails to crack me up. Heres a spoiler about Clurrrr & Ashley from DS (, I hate that site)
Coronation Street couple Ashley and Claire Peacock will face mounting debt problems in an upcoming storyline, The Sun reports.
Claire (Julia Haworth) is furious when she discovers that husband Ashley (Steven Arnold) has been using their life savings to help keep their butcher's shop from going under.
She panics when her credit card is declined and discovers it is over the limit. When Ashley's request to the bank to extend the credit is refused, the couple are forced to sell their home to Sally and Kevin Webster.
The plotline will air later this month and reflects the recent credit crunch in the UK and the troubles faced by the bank Northern Rock.
"We keep our storylines current. People who are experiencing similar problems will identify with the plot," a source said.

Corrie Girls' House Strop
16th April 2008 By John Mahoney
www.dailystar.co.uk/
CORRIE will play House Swap when two of its most popular families switch homes.
After 20 years under the same roof, the Websters will trade places with the Peacocks.
But their reasons for the move are drastically different.
With their two teenage daughters growing up fast, mechanic Kevin (Michael Le Vell, 43) and wife Sally decide they need a bigger, better house.
They bought their terrace No 13 for a knockdown price in 1987, and will now set their sights on moving into the roomier No 4, where butcher Ashley (Steven Arnold, 33) and wife Claire live.
Viewers will see the Peacocks decide they need to downsize after falling on hard times – but the swap does not run smoothly.
The two families agree to handle the sale themselves in order to avoid estate agents’* fees, with Kevin and Ashley willing to take a back seat and let the women sort out the transaction.
But when Sally (Sally Whittaker, 44) hears Claire calling the Websters’ home “a slum”, she storms: “I suppose you’ll be getting the bulldozers in when you move. After all, you won’t want to live in a slum, will you?”
The two women almost come to blows, and Sally pulls out of the deal.
Eventually Claire (Julia Haworth, 28) comes to her senses and tells the Websters: “This has become too personal and nasty. I realise now that trying to cut out the middleman to save money was stupid, and all we’re doing is arguing.
“I’m sick of it, and I’ve now instructed someone to sell it for us. So if you want to buy our house you’ll have to speak to my agent.”
An insider revealed: “The house deal will eventually go through.
“And having new houses will give both families a chance to develop with fresh storylines.”

Alexandra Boyd has admitted she expects "feathers to fly" when she joins ITV soap Coronation Street.
The actress, who made an uncredited appearance in Titanic, has reportedly told friends she is nervous about working with soap veterans Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) and Barbara Knox (Rita Sullivan).
Boyd's character Clarissa Mason will clash with Liz McDonald when she believes the Rovers Return landlady is after her husband Harry.
Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "Expect a few feathers to fly across the cobbles when Clarissa takes on fiery Liz."
Boyd has also appeared in US shows Party of Five and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, as well as an episode of BBC soap Doctors.

Philip has made a brief appearance in the Street before at Liam's stag do.
His entrance will coincide with the departure of current heartthrob Rob James-Collier, who plays Liam.
Corrie bosses expect Philip will be a big hit with female viewers and so do we!

Rachel Leskovac has joined the cast of Coronation Street, The Mirror reports.
The 32-year-old, who played serial killer nurse Kelly Yorke in Holby City, will be seen on the ITV soap from May.
Her character Natasha will start work at Audrey Roberts's (Sue Nicholls) hair and beauty salon.
An insider at the soap is quoted as saying: "Rachel's very well known in TV land as she has been in countless series and dramas. To have her new character in the salon is a smashing coup."
Leskovac has also appeared in The Royal and Where The Heart Is.

CORRIE chiefs last night sensationally axed a string of characters — including the ENTIRE Morton family.
Kebab shop boss Jerry Morton and his whole clan got the boot after months of whispers their characters had not settled in well.
The family were introduced to the ITV1 soap only last year.
The mass exodus will see Jerry (played by Michael Starke), Mel (Emma Edmonson), Darryl (Johnny Dixon), Kayleigh (Jessica Bardon) and Finlay (Ramone Quinn) leave later this year.
The blitz also hits Jack Ellis and Matthew Compton, who play father and son bookies Harry and Dan Mason. They joined the Street in December but producers were swift to get rid of them and they will be leaving in the autumn.
A source said: “The producers had a big forward planning meeting this week and have decided to axe a number of characters.
“Most of the actors were called in at lunchtime and told — they are gutted.”
As well as this Ian Reddington, who plays Liz McDonald’s new husband Vernon Tomlin, is also due to leave in September. He already has a play and a panto lined up.
Show boss Kim Crowther said: “Coronation Street has always had a tradition of characters who come in to play out storylines beside established characters before moving on.
“As in any community there are people who live there for years and people who pass through. We still have some interesting storylines to play with these characters.
“They are all very talented actors and we wish them well.”

Aye I thought they had too, oh well maybe we Corrie will be a lot better with out the Mortons and Masons
Scarlett.

ITV confirmed on Saturday that a number of Coronation Street actors will leave the show at the end of their current contracts.
Bookies Harry and Dan Mason played by Jack Ellis and Matthew Crompton along with drummer Vernon Tomlin, played by Ian Reddington, will leave the show in the autumn.
Michael Starke who plays Jerry Morton along with his screen family of Mel (Emma Edmonson), Darryl (Johnny Dixon), Kayleigh (Jessica Bardon) and Finlay (Ramone Quinn) will also leave the show later this year.
Producer Kim Crowther said: “Coronation Street has always had a tradition of characters who come into the show as catalysts to play out storylines alongside more established characters before moving on.
“As in any community there are people who live there for many years and people who pass through. We still have some interesting storylines to play with these characters before they leave Weatherfield.
“They are all very talented actors and we wish them well for the future.”
Ian Reddington’s contract was always due to end in September and he already has another two projects lined up. One a play in London called the Lemon Princess and panto in Darlington.
All the characters will be seen on screen until September/October.

Not Vern

May is going to be a terrible month for poor Maria.
Not only has she had to go through the heartbreak of losing her baby - but she now faces the prospect of losing Liam.
The pretty hairdresser tries to explain why she kept the terrible news from her husband - but will he understand?
As Liam turns to Carla for support - could this be the end of the Connor marriage?
At the Platts, Gail may have lost a son to the prison system, but she’s about to gain a father.
The troubled mum certainly needs something positive in her life after her recent traumas.
She meets her estranged dad Ted, but is he how she imagined and does he plan on sticking around?
Meanwhile, Claire tries to find a way to solve her and Ashley's financial problems and suggests they move to a smaller house to save money.
However, when Sally gets wind of Claire's plan to sell up, she comes up with her own idea - they do a house swap.
It sounds like the perfect solution… But with those two strong-minded women involved, it could be a recipe for disaster!
And finally, someone on the Street has a heart attack.
Who is it and will they survive?
Spike
27-04-2008, 02:14 PM
So glad the Morton's are leaving, we all knew they would be axed the question was when lol
Scarlett.
27-04-2008, 02:16 PM
Aye lol! so much deadwood gone!
Kim Crowther might just be able to get Corrie back on track like Diedrick Santer did with EE
Scarlett.
27-04-2008, 02:22 PM
I heard a rumour the heart attack may be Les
Spike
27-04-2008, 02:22 PM
Corrie is really boring now it needs some big story-lines to get it back on track. At least the characters who are bringing nothing to the show are being axed. What was the point in bringing the Morton's into it?
Scarlett.
27-04-2008, 02:24 PM
Dunno, Steve Frost started off well, then he trailed off with David and brough pointless characters into it
I have a feeling Victoria Court might not be staying up for long

Darryl and Mel where quite good too
but wont miss the rest
BigSister
27-04-2008, 03:32 PM
darryl was starting to annoy me though i didnt mind mel though she had a bit of potential
I'm glad some of the pointless characters are going, 7 down, just a couple more to go. Definitely a step in the right direction.
The person who has the heart attack is
Jerry
but its nothing to do with
his exit because he makes a full recovery.
Scarlett.
27-04-2008, 03:37 PM
Ah cool, wonder what the heart attack will trigger story-line wise?
Scarlett.

Exiting Coronation Street boss Steve Frost has admitted that he would have loved to flood Weatherfield.
Frost, who is leaving the soap to become head of continuing series at ITV, said he regretted missing the chance to bring a natural disaster to Corrie.
In an interview with ITV.com, Frost said: "I would love to have flooded the Street. It would have been great to see a natural weather disaster on the Street.
"We keep touching on it, thinking, 'can we tank the Street, can we fill it with water?' I really fell in love with the idea of somebody in a rowing boat coming round the corner by the Rovers - people climbing out of the top floor of the Rovers into rowing boats.
"It would have been a view of the Street never seen before and probably never seen again, but it proved a little bit difficult to pull off. One day, though, I think it will happen because it would be marvellous."
Kim Crowther, a former script and series editor on Coronation Street, was announced as the new producer last year.

There’s more heartache on the cards for Fiz with the return of her cheating ex.
Love rat John Stape, played by Graeme Hawley, will be back in the summer for a great storyline, which will cause his former girlfriend some grief.
Surely the Websters won’t be rolling out the red carpet for him either…
A Corrie source has also revealed that Tyrone’s mum, Jackie, played by Margi Clarke, may be back on the scene.
But how will Ty feel about seeing his mother after all these years?

We heard that Tyrone's mum Jackie Dobbs was coming back to Coronation Street - and Digital Spy has a theory why. Apparently Vicky Binns dropped a strong hint that Tyrone's mum and Molly's Auntie Pam would be coming to Weatherfield for a "monumental reason" in Molly and Tyrone's life, and it could possibly be a wedding! Vicky says they're currently casting for the role of Auntie Pam, and lots of great actresses are being considered.
Watch Vicky's interview here.

06-05-2008, 02:26 PM
You'd have thought with David Platt banged up and Ryan Connor having retired his paint-spray can, crime in Weatherfield would be at an all-time low. But you'd have reckoned without Kenzie Judd.
Who he? Well, Kayleigh Morton fancies him, for a start, but he's a nasty piece of work, according to the Sun. He and his "hoodie" mates will be rampaging around the streets of Weatherfield soon in a crime spree that sees Norris and Roy terrorised, and Jerry Morton hospitalized after a heart attack.
The Sun's Corrie mole said, "The writers want to reflect the growing problem of gang crime in our cities. They're handling it in a sensitive manner and showing how the most vulnerable often fall victim to gang crimes."
Will Jerry pull through? Will his daughter WPC Mel catch the thugs? Will his other daughter Kayleigh change her taste in men? All will be revealed towards the end of this month.

CORRIE'S CELLAR PLOT TO GO AHEAD
Bookie Dan Mason nearly dies when he is locked in a cellar in a dramatic new Coronation Street storyline.
The planned episodes had been thrown into doubt after Austrian father Josef Fritzl hit the headlines for keeping his daughter in his basement for 24 years.
Producers have now given the go-ahead and viewers will see Dan (Matthew Crompton) locked in the cellar of the Rovers with a punctured lung after a fight with landlord Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson).
Compton and co-star Jack Ellis, who plays his dad Harry, will leave the ITV1 soap in the autumn after being axed by producers last month.

All of these Coronation Street spoilers come courtesy of top soap mag Inside Soap. Among other juicy snippets...
- Dan is left fighting for his life after the rivalry between him and Steve gets out of hand. Inside Soap hints that this may get Steve in trouble with the law, and in the Daily Star today, they claim that Dan Mason almost dies when a brawl with Steve leaves him locked in the cellar with a punctured lung.
- Also confined to a small space will be the Websters and Peacocks after a fuse blows at the Peacocks' new house (that would be Sally's old house) and the two families are forced to live together. Conveniently forgetting Claire's mum and her huge house, of course - presumably she must be at the dentist.
DavidTina.jpg- Gail finally takes a well-earned trip to Milan, and while she's away, David and Tina play, but their partying gets out of hand. Luckily David's new-found grandad, Ted Paige, steps in to help sort out the resulting mess.
- Jerry Morton's ex-wife Teresa returns, and tries to convince Lloyd that he's the father of Finlay.
- Liz faces some big decisions when Vernon asks her to move home and business and run a bar which comes complete with its own love nest. But does Liz care more about the Rovers (and possibly Harry Mason) than she does about her marriage? Since we know Ian Reddington's leaving and Bev Callard isn't, I would say the answer would be yes!
- Carla tries to get Liam to sell his share of Underworld to Tony Gordon, after Liam tries to patch up his marriage with Maria.

Steve McDonald and Dan Mason have already started to stamp the ground and pace around each other like rams on a mountain top the other day, arguing about breaking into cars. The testosterone is about to be ramped up between the two young turks, according to the Daily Star, when they argue about who knows the fastest route to a particular destination (oh, come on, Steve's a cab driver. No contest!) and they end up deciding to duke it out behind the wheel, so to speak. They decide to race to see who knows best but their respective girlfriends, Leanne and Michelle, have both undertaken to be underhanded and text the lads with directions. Sounds a bit daft to me. If you know the route, you know the route. But I digress. Dan wins the day but Steve is suspicious (no kidding.) But the silliest part of this story is that the powers that be on Coronation Street are anxious that their viewers realize that is is just fiction and is not recommended to try on public streets. "It's very important we don't portray the racing scenes as something people should copy. We won't be showing them breaking any speed limits."
Um, yes. That ought to be deterrent enough, don't you think? We'll see the Weatherfield F1 later this month.

CORRIE bosses are planning a gritty new storyline for nosy parker Norris Cole.
Cardigan-clad Kabin co-owner Norris (Malcolm Hebden) will find himself at the centre of a hard-hitting new plot which sees the Street terrorised by a teenage gang.
Gritty storyline ... Kayleigh
Gritty storyline ... Kayleigh
Weatherfield was recently hit by one-man crimewave David Platt, but following his incarceration and, ahem, rehabilitation, the new kids arrive on the block ready to wreak havoc on the locals. Poor Norris is their first target.
The pensioner bravely tries to stand up to the yobs when they confront him in The Kabin.
But they’re after more than dolly mixtures and strawberry laces and he ends up bruised and shaken – and a few quid lighter.
A source said: “The writers want to reflect the growing problem of gang crime in our cities. They’re handling it in a sensitive manner and showing how the most vulnerable often fall victim to gang crimes.”
However, it’s not just Norris who’s in for a rough ride . . .
Fight ... Jerry Morton
Fight ... Jerry Morton
After ransacking The Kabin, the gang is keen to get their next hit – and that’s when they set their sights on Roy’s Rolls.
Dithering owner Roy Cropper (David Neilson) might be a picture of youth compared to Norris, but he too proves no match for the terrible teens. Our source added: “Roy keeps his house keys on a shoelace tied to his bag. He’s never going to be able to warn off a group of violent teens.”
However, while Roy gives into the gang, big boy Jerry Morton (Michael Starke) isn’t so easily beaten, and after throwing his considerable weight around he chases the hoodies off the premises.
Unfortunately though, the kebab king isn’t as fit as he used to be and as he tackles the yobs, Jerry suffers a heart attack and an ambulance takes him to hospital.
Our source continued: “The storyline will bring the Mortons back into the frame.
“First Jerry is hospitalised then his teenage daughter Kayleigh identifies one of the gang as Kenzie Judd, a boy she fancies at school.”
It’s a good job Kayleigh’s big sister Mel is a police-woman . . .
The storyline unfolds at the end of the month.
Scarlett.

It has been a bit boring lately but those hoping for changes as soon as Kim Crowther comes in are in for a big surprise. The storylines are planned well ahead and she will have to continue with some of them and tie up any loose ends. We won't see her influence on Corrie for a good few months yet.

Julie Hesmondalgh will return to her role as Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street later this year.
The 38-year-old actress, who plays a transsexual on the show, was allowed a 12-month break due to exhaustion.
Hesmondalgh said she wanted to spend more time with her husband Ian Kershaw and daughter Martha.
She will appear on screen again for the first time in September. Her character's last storyline involved her coming to terms with meeting her own son, who she last saw when she was a man.
A source told The Mirror: "Julie just wanted to take time off and do normal things like take her daughter to school. Re-charging her batteries and being a mum was top of the agenda.
"Julie is such a popular member of the show that she really has been missed."

I recently chatted with Corrie's assistant producer Gavin Blyth for a preview of what's to come from Corrie in the coming weeks and months. Especially for you, my fellow scoopers, here are some extra morsels of teasery goodness for your pleasure. If you haven't read the main interview yet, click here to have a butcher's. But if you want to know more about Molly's Auntie Pam or the returns of Jackie Dobbs and John Stape, continuez...
Julia Haworth's about to take a break for maternity leave. How will we see Claire leave the Street?
"It would be all too easy to contrive a storyline to split Ashley and Claire up - but that isn't the case. After the trying time of last year, they are stronger than ever. But a disastrous house swap with Sally and Kevin could see them seeking sanctuary in the coming months... It's a very traditional, fun Coronation Street story with families and friends soon turning foes."
Where will this leave Ashley?
"Ashley will continue to figure in his own stories in Claire's absence and has a good framework of friends in other characters to ensure that he'll never be far away."
With Vernon and Harry leaving, where will this leave Liz on the 'man front'?
"I think the best way to describe her would be down, but not out. Where men are concerned, Liz has an uncanny knack of bouncing back. If she's not pulling pints, she's pulling men - so I doubt she'll be on her own for very long. But that isn't to say that she is just going to bounce into the arms of the next man that comes along."
Will we see Harry and Liz get it on before he goes?
"There's still plenty of time before Harry goes anywhere, so anything could happen. Though the spectre of Clarissa - Harry's ex - is looming large so it may not be straight forward for Liz. It's fair to say that Clarissa isn't necessarily finished with Harry yet and the idea of another woman trying to snare him won't go down well. Liz may just find herself an arch enemy before she finds herself another man!"
Carla's an absolutely fantastic character. Will we learn anything more about her background? Maybe her brother will emerge from prison?
"We may get a glimpse into Carla's background and the possibility of her brother popping up some time is always there. But her present is set to prove just as interesting as her past. Her desire for Liam and life with Tony has set her on a dangerous course and she'll have to be at her best to avoid a collision. But Carla's sharp and more than capable of sidestepping trouble should she need to. But as always with Carla - if a few people get hurt en route... then so be it.
"What Carla probably hasn't realised just yet, is that her bedfellow plays a similar game. But she'll get a wake-up call as life with Tony continues at a pace. She - and a few others - will start to learn what the viewers already know; Tony isn't a man to be crossed. The ripples of his actions will be felt far and wide as Tony starts to impact on the lives of Street stalwarts."
Can you tell us a little more about your plans for the Victoria Court Apartments? You must have some interesting new additions on the horizon for such a major development on the Street...
"The apartments bring an exciting new visual dimension to the Street. Like our characters, it allows us to mix contemporary Coronation Street with the traditional. Life may not change much for the residents of Coronation Street but life around them does.
"Victoria Court reminds us that Coronation Street exists within a bigger world, and of course allows us to home new characters as, when and if we need to. But in story terms, it offers us an insight into the workings of Tony Gordon. It will peel back another layer of that character and what we find underneath won't necessarily be sweetness and light."
Jackie Dobbs and John Stape are returning - what can you tell us about their motives for coming back?
"Jackie's return is only a brief one at this stage and will feed into a story that is underway for Tyrone and Molly. One great thing about Coronation Street is that it doesn't shy away from delving into its history and this is a perfect example. Tyrone will have need to be reunited with his mum, but where, how and when he finds her will tell us as much about Molly as it will Tyrone.
"John Stape's return will prove a very notable one. After loving Fiz, lusting after Rosie and being beaten up by Kevin, washed-up teacher John has unfinished business. Only time will tell if he is coming back as a lover or a fighter."
Are you going to be turning Tyrone and Molly into the next Jack and Vera?
"I don't think that you can ever set out with the aim of turning any two characters into the next Jack and Vera. They have iconic status. I can imagine, though, that Molly isn't unlike a young Vera and Tyrone could be a Jack in the making. But they are great characters in their own right and should they ever be likened to Jack and Vera in the years to come, I know that we and they would be very proud of a job well done.
Can you tell us anything about Molly's Auntie Pam?
"She's a lot of fun and a pretty shrewd cookie when it comes to making a fast buck. But she's big hearted too and it's obvious from the outset that she thinks the world of Molly and Tyrone; doing anything she can for them in their time of need. And of course Jack is never far away, so it'll be interesting to see what he makes of the larger-than-life new arrival. She certainly won't be replacing Vera - nobody could - but she may prove to be an equally worthy adversary."
Now in his third year with the Manchester-based soap, Gavin Blyth - assistant producer to Corrie's new leading lady Kim Crowther - has been involved in some of the show's most iconic storylines such as Tracy and Charlie's rocky romance, David Platt's reign of terror and the introduction of the Connors. Here, Gavin chats to DS about what's on the horizon for the residents of Weatherfield in the coming weeks.
Can you give us any clues as to how the Mortons will develop before they go?
"Jerry and his family certainly won't just slink away quietly. Everything that they stand for as a family will be tested when he faces a major health scare that marks the return of ex-wife Teresa. We saw her in the early days when the family first arrived and she's about to turn life upside down for everyone. She's not backwards in coming forwards and spies an opportunity to further her own gain at every turn. Suffice to say that not everybody will be pleased to see her, including her own daughter Mel and a certain other regular on the Street..."
David's dominated Corrie for the good part of six months. Where will we see him go from here?
"Fresh from his release from the Young Offenders' Institute, we'll see David making a real go of life. He's back in Tina's arms and knows that he can't afford to risk losing her again. We've already seen that she's the one woman who can make a real difference in his life, though we have yet to see if he can keep his jealousy under control. But his time inside has changed him too. His determination to be put away demonstrated just how much he wanted to be helped. But he knew his mother couldn't be the one to do it because, at that time, she was part of the problem. Now he sees that he can't simply blame others and has to take some responsibility for what happens in his life.
"Furthermore he's now got his granddad (Ted, Gail's dad) to look up to. A stable male influence has long been missing in David's life and Ted very much treats David as a man - not a boy. It won't all be plain sailing, though. Audrey's not quite as forgiving as Gail, and David's place at the salon may yet be one he has to earn."
There's only so much bad one character can do, though, isn't there?
"David is what he is - which in soap terms is quite unique. Rarely does a soap villain grow in front of your eyes as he has, allowing the audience to understand why he does what he does. He's been on the outside of his family looking in, and that has been difficult for him. His misplaced actions have always been about control and trying to prove he matters to those he loves and can have an effect on them. That all changed when he pushed Gail down the stairs. For the first time, David wasn't in control and was actually in danger of losing his mother and her love forever. We'll see that's shaped David for a potentially different future. For now at least, he's a reformed character. But we are talking about David Platt and he'll never be an angel."
Tina has to be one of the best Corrie additions of recent years. What do you have planned for her?
"We're thrilled that Tina has made such an impact and Michelle Keegan's performance has quickly bedded Tina in as a firm Coronation Street favourite. She is such a contemporary character but with all the hallmarks of the traditional feisty females that have clipped the cobbles across the years. Her relationship with David is still in its infancy but they have a very exciting future together as they develop as a couple. What's great about Tina, though, is that she won't be reliant on David to grow as a character. As she starts to work on the street, we'll see her making new friends - and enemies - at every turn. Bigger storylines beckon."
How many members of her family will we meet?
"Tina's mum and dad have separated, but one of them is due to land on the Street, taking an immediate shine to another Corrie favourite. But the course of true love won't run smooth; how could it when your teenage daughter is watching your every move?"
Sue Cleaver is a fantastic actress and a lot of fans think she's quite underused and hasn't had the storylines she deserves. Do you have any big plans for Eileen?
"We couldn't agree more; Sue is a fantastic actress and a big favourite with fans. The great thing about Eileen is that she can have such a big effect with even the smallest of stories. Her relationship with Steve and Lloyd in the taxi office is so rich that it can take only one line of dialogue to make it memorable. Likewise, a clip round Jason's ear or a scathing remark about his latest tryst with Becky is a joy to watch. But fans can rest assured that Eileen's next big storyline isn't far away and come the Autumn they'll be seeing even more of her."
It's common knowledge that Liam's leaving at the end of the year, so what direction will we see him heading over the coming months?
"Suffice to say that his exit is closely guarded, but we will be building to a dramatic departure for Liam later in the year. He's determined to keep his relationship with Maria on an even keel after recent events... but with a spurned Carla on his doorstep, anger and passion is never far away. But how it manifests itself will be all telling and there are plenty more twists and turns left in this story yet. There's also the return of cousin Tom, who we last saw at Liam and Maria's wedding. He'll be turning a few heads and leading Liam off in different directions over the coming months."
What's the latest on Corrie's set move?
"Discussions are still ongoing. But stay or move, Corrie's quality will remain."
Are you filming in HD yet?
"We aren't shooting HD at this time, but the shift in technology means it isn't something that we can ignore. It's not a change that can be made overnight but we are continuing to explore the options."
