Have you been worried about Kevin Webster's lack of storyline like we have? Well, don't get your hopes up too much. Kevin is going to have a storyline but it'll be brief but violent and then he'll end up in the nick according to the Daily Star. Kevin finds out about John Stape's upcoming affair with his daughter, Rosie, and goes ballistic. He beats the stuffing out of John and ends up in the nick for a month. I don't know if that means Kevin will be off our screens or if we'll see his family visit. While it seems like everyone lashes out with violence these days, you can understand Kevin's motivation where it looks like an older man, an authority figure, is taking advantage of a 17 year old when we know that Rosie is doing all the running after a man who seems to have a taste for young girls!

I'm very excited by the news reported in The Sun today, that Coronation Street bosses are hoping to bring Bruno Langley (Todd Grimshaw) back to the Street permanently.

Bruno was always a big hit with the fans, and his reappearance in the Street this week has reminded us what a good actor he is, and how well his character works with the rest of the Grimshaw family. It seems that the powers that be agree, as executive producer Kieran Roberts has said, “He’s a terrific actor and it would be great for the Grimshaws to have him back for good. There’s a lot of scope for storylines Todd because of his history with Jason, Eileen and Sarah.”

Violets sister!
Former Mile High and Hollyoaks actress Lucy Evans has joined the cast of Coronation Street as Violet Wilson's sexy minx of a sister, Lauren.

Lauren arrives in Weatherfield after spending time abroad in Ayia Napa and immediately sets her sights on the eye-candy of the Street.

A Corrie source told DS: "Little is known about Lauren's past but it's safe to say that Violet's not pleased about her turning up or sticking around."

They added: "She's going to be a little minx and most definitely a hit with the lads. But there's something standing between Violet and Lauren which is preventing them from being the sisters they should be."

Lucy's, whose first scenes are due to transmit on Monday, November 26, played the character of Deb in Mile High back in 2004 and Hollyoaks' Rachel Osborne. She has also made appearances in Holby City, Doctors and ITV's The Stepfather.

Take That sing for Corrie Wedding
A million love songs later, Take That have a starring role in Coronation Street.

Sadly, we don’t get to see the boys in person.

But they do play a crucial part at the start of Corrie’s hour-long wedding special next Wednesday.

You can tell it’s a special because it opens with a sweeping shot to the soundtrack of Take That.

What You Believe In – taken from their 2006 Beautiful World CD – is the song in question.

As the camera swoops down, we see devil boy David (Jack P Shepherd) contemplating life on the morning of his sister’s wedding.

He then switches off his car music player, ending the track.

It’s just one of several magic moments in the special, which confirms Corrie’s current hot streak.

It all begins, of course, with the scripts – and recent episodes have been packed with some brilliant writing.

Producer Steve Frost and his directing team also continue to refresh the show with new ways of looking at the Street.

And it almost goes without saying that the cast – to a man, woman and dog – rise to the challenge.

Even Jerry’s kebabs deserve a BAFTA.

Corrie’s trademark combination of drama mixed with comedy is a joy to watch in next week’s special.

As is the skill used to bring in characters like Emily and Norris for brief but telling moments.

It comes after some cracking Corrie of late.

Speaking to actress Tina O’Brien (Sarah Platt) last week, I suggested that one already screened scene would be repeated for decades to come.

That’s the one where Sarah had her wedding dress ripped and covered in wine when she tried it on at home.

For filming reasons, Corrie actually, in the end, used four identical £100 dresses from Debenhams.

“The dress was perfect, because it’s supposed to be something that she could get quite cheaply and something that was classic,” explained Tina.

“The wedding dress was definitely not my style, but I prefer it that way. It’s good to do something that’s not me.”

And that scene in the house?

“It was all in one take – the pressure was really on.

“I got my last line slightly wrong, but I just covered it and then changed it and did it anyway.

“Because after six pages there’s no way you want to go, ‘Actually darlings, can we pick that up?’

“There was no way it was going to happen. It was great fun to do. You get a real buzz from things like that.

“It was a memorable episode of Coronation Street and that is down to the writer Jonathan Harvey.”

The special leads into ITV1’s live coverage of the National Television Awards – from 8.30pm.

As usual, I’ll be at The Royal Albert Hall in London to cover the event, with Corrie nominated in four categories.

If it doesn’t win Most Popular Serial Drama this year, there really will be a huge question mark about the credibility of the NTAs.

And wouldn’t you just know it?

Michelle Connor will be involved in a storyline that reveals her son may not actually be hers.

Barmaid Michelle (Kim Ryder), will be confronted by Nick Greco (Robert Horwell) and told that her son Ryan (Ben Thompson) isn't her biological child.

Greco will claim that there was a mix-up at the hospital, and that his son Alex, who was born on the same day as Ryan, is in fact hers and that Ryan is his.

A show insider told the Daily Star: "Can there really be anything more traumatic for a parent to have to endure?"

The actor, who played Mike Baldwin on the soap, parted with £15 for a night with a 33-year-old brunette called Yo.

- At the Mortons’ bonfire party Cupid targets two former lovers. But why does the new couple upset Sean?
- Also at the bonfire party, Sarah Platt is horrified when she sees the clothes that the bonfire guy has been dressed in.
- John’s fling with Rosie gets out of hand.
- In the Rovers, is Liz’s reign as Queen Bee behind the bar over when another woman moves in?
- Liam leaves the Street this month, but don’t worry, he’s only popping over to Ireland for another holiday. But is there someone other than Maria who misses him while he’s away?
- There’ll be shock news for the factory boss when he returns, and it’ll mean more responsibility than a little puppy… Meanwhile Carla gets a proposition - and a nasty surprise.
- The Peacocks’ are set for more marital turmoil when Claire starts to assert her independence.

Finally a bit of good news for the permanently-frowning Gail Platt (Helen Worth). The Press Association is reporting that she will finally have something to happy about in the new year, when she has a new romance in her life.

I think we should be cautious about getting too optimistic, though. Her track record with men isn't exactly glowing, is it? I suppose if he isn't a serial killer, Gail would count that as a result.

Meanwhile, over at ITV.com, a video special lets you relive again all those catfights on the Coronation Street cobbles between Gail and Eileen. Classic.

It feels like we've been building up to Sarah and Jason's wedding for most of my adult life (ok, slight exaggeration) and now the Big Day is upon us. Any trick-or-treaters who come round to my house between 7.30 and 8.30 tonight will find themselves abandoned on a cold doorstep because I won't be able to tear myself away from the TV.

And all that excitement will be followed by still more, as ITV is showing the National Television Awards live. Will Sue Cleaver and Antony Cotton be able to fight off the twin-pronged Doctor Who attack of Freema Agyeman and David Tennant to win Most Popular Actress and Actor? Will Kym Ryder win yet another Best Newcomer prize? And, most importantly, will Coronation Street take the Most Popular Serial Drama trophy? Tonight's corrie was fantastic! the best it has been in ages i thought. I love how they turned against Sarah now (and only too right an' all she was being a proper bridezilla) and Sarah going through with the vows and going psychobride on that poor kid!

NEWLYWED actor Bruno Langley has returned to Corrie to get out of changing his son’s nappy.

Sarah is going to get her revenge on David this Christmas by planting drugs in his room. The Daily Star breaks this spoiler that Sarah goes clubbing and is offered some tablets to help her keep going on the dance floor all night. She accepts but keeps hold of them and stashes them in David's dresser drawers. Seems Gail had given permission for David to spend 6 months in Italy if he cleans up his act and she's determined to scupper it and scupper it she does. Gail finds the pills as planned and pulls the trip out from under David's feet. So to speak.
