When did anyone say the vaccine was a magic cure ? , It doesn't prevent Covid, it's there to reduce the risk and to stop the more severe symptoms .

When older people have the flu jab, they know they can still get the flu . It's all about strengthening your immune system.

So that's that narrative gone for a burton.

Tell you what it does do though, it makes some people very, very rich. Some people have earnt billions from this Covid chapter.

What do you suggest we do then ?.

Anti vaccine people have ALSO died who never got vaccinated .

Some people who died likely had other health problems aswell, quite a few people have recovered from COVID and been ok .

I don't know, because there is no way I could, but if I had to guess, I'd say that more people have not taken the vaccine than people who have. I could be wrong on that, but I definitely believe they lie and manipulate the numbers.

In 100 years they haven't found a Vaccine to stop cancer, in 40 years they haven't found a vaccine to stop Aids. But we're to believe that in 10 months they found a vaccine to stop a new deadly pandemic.

How can you "most people will recover" , when PRE vaccine people were dropping like flies and the death rate was high .

The 99% recovery rate can't be accurate . Yes some people were recovering but people were still getting severely sick and dying.

But they DIDN'T find a vaccine in 10 months that stops the virus, because as we just said there's NO absolute prevention.

Before I was vaccinated I never caught Covid, but then again I didn't put myself at risk, and now I'm double vaccinated I'm still ok , and if I do catch it I now feel like I'll be a bit more protected.

I don't believe in the 'Covid scam conspiracies' .

I feel sorry for you, you're a grown ass man believing in fairy tales told to you by people on Facebook because you can't handle the reality of the pandemic we're in. You're a spineless coward that can't accept that we're living in different times than normal and instead of adapting to it, you throw tantrums and ignore facts and science because you would rather delude yourself. it depends on the individual. At least 6 months is the data available at the moment, and the younger you are the less likely the protection will reduce

Have you had your email from the Govt. yet Vanessa.
Got mine this morning, concerning the clinically extremely vulnerable and what we need to do now we aren’t shielding.
Some will be offered a third jab after 6 months of their second one. This is not the booster, it’s totally different.you will still get that with your flu jab.
They also recommend anyone coming in your home to visit you should have the Rapid antigen test 30 minutes before the see you.
Quite a long email. Too much to read all at once, certainly not bedtime reading.😂

It's not an airborne virus so (this time) literally so long as people are washing their hands and not playing around in the blood and spit of infected people, they'll be fine. These diseases (ebola etc.) have been around since something like the 1960's. Probably longer, that's just when they were identified.

Yeah these viruses (this and Ebola) have been around for decades and (touch wood) they’re well studied and we know how to deal with them. They are horrific viruses (haemorrhagic fevers) with very high death rates but they don’t spread easily, and the reason there have never been any major outbreaks outside of Africa is probably that it’s very hard for them to spread with modern sanitation. They spread via bodily fluids and contact with infected corpses, you can catch it from someone sitting next to you on the train, and also, I believe it’s only infectious whilst symptomatic so… someone with one of these viruses isn’t going to be sat on a train in the first place - they’re going to be in ICU. Though I did read a while back that asymptomatic Ebola DOES exist… it’s just unlikely to be infectious so you’d never know you had it .

Anyway yeah, tl;dr these severe viruses are scary for different reasons (the actual symptoms) whereas Covid is usuallly a mild illness - the problem is and always has been how easily it spreads.

bots
01-10-2021, 06:59 AM
for a virus to be successful, it has to be infectious almost immediately and it also needs to keep the carrier alive long enough to spread it along. So, by definition, a quick acting lethal virus won't spread very far

More on that sad Death,
of that 15 year old girl in Portsmouth.

[Healthy' schoolgirl kickboxer, 15, dies from Covid

extremely rare case – as her heartbroken
mother urges children not to
be 'blasé' about virus
Jorja Halliday was rushed to the
Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth
She was placed on a ventilator but her
heart was under too much strain
Schoolgirl died on September 28 - four days
after receiving her PCR test results]

[Paying tribute to her daughter, Jorja's mother,
Tracey Halliday, 40, said that the GCSE student
at The Portsmouth Academy was
a 'loving girl' who 'always wanted to help others'.

Ms Halliday said Jorja was struggling to eat
on Sunday but by Monday she could not eat
at all due to her throat hurting.
She had initially contacted a doctor who
prescribed antibiotics but when Jorja's condition
worsened, she was seen by a doctor who
said her heart rate was double what it
should be and she was taken to hospital.
She said: 'They realised how serious it was and I was still
allowed to touch her, hold her hand,
hug her and everything else.
'They did allow me that. I'm at the point where
I can't comprehend that it's happened.

'I was with her the whole time.
They tried to put her on a ventilator
to give her body a chance to recover.
Her heart rate didn't stabilise.

i think the girl was particularly unlucky and was hit by a rarer covid affect. We know that covid can seriously mess up your organs and circulatory system. That's why i get annoyed when people compare it to cold or flu.

Right at the beginning of the pandemic, the brother of a friend of mine who was perfectly health had 3 heart attacks from it. I can't remember that being associated with the flu

The number of pupils absent from England's state schools rose by two-thirds to 204,000 in the fortnight to Thursday, 30 September.

Department for Education figures show 2.5% of pupils were out of school for Covid-related reasons on this day.

The figures are the second batch of fortnightly statistics to be published since schools returned with much reduced Covid safety mitigations.

The government said it was trying to maximise time spent in the classroom.

Overall, one in 10 pupils were absent, for Covid-related and other reasons, but in secondary schools, one in seven or 13.7% of pupils were out of school.

Absence rates in the autumn before the Covid pandemic were more like 4.5%.

“Covid related reasons” would include waiting for results of a PCR test after being a Covid contact, though… so obviously that number is going to be high. Both of my kids have been off twice for a test, neither of them have had Covid.

Wales votes in Covid Passes. Monday 11th October

Covid pass plans agreed in knife-edge Senedd vote

[Mandatory Covid passes in nightclubs and large events
will be introduced in Wales as planned on
11 October after Welsh ministers
won a knife-edge Senedd vote.
The measures were agreed with 28 politicians
voting for and 27 voting against.
It came despite politicians in the opposition
uniting against the plans.
The public will be expected to show evidence
of being fully vaccinated or having
a recent negative Covid test.]

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-politics-58789467

[Anyone who is over 16 and has been fully vaccinated in Wales or England,
or has had a negative lateral flow test result
within the past 48 hours, can get a pass.

Under the Welsh government plan they would be
compulsory for anyone over 18 to enter:

Nightclubs
Indoor no-seating events with more than 500 people
Outdoor no-seating events with more than 4,000 people
Any event with more than 10,000 people, including sport

Users who want to show a negative test will have
to self-certify their result - leading to concerns
they could be faked.
To prevent this, the Welsh government plans to make
it illegal to fake a negative test.

Large events could also be allowed to check passes
at random, rather than check every person who attends.]

This 40,000-person study found that children under 15 were about half as likely
as adults to be infected, and only half as likely as adults to transmit the virus
to others. Almost all the coronavirus transmissions to children came from
adults.

Instead, it’s increasingly clear that in many countries, it’s people in their 20s
and 30s who spark outbreaks that then spill over into both older people and
children.

Well depending on what his idea of a new political system is.

I never thought I'd be in some agreement with Dominic Cummings.

He's right on the leadership of both main parties.
In fact all UK wide parties.

If his idea of a new political system included PR for elections, then I could go further in agreement with him.

This report is damning to the government.
Particularly in my view this pathetic PM we have.
Plus Cummings is right, a lot of what he revealed to the MPs, has been seen as right in this report.

No wonder then, Johnson is keeping at bay the full inquiry into this, until at least Spring NEXT year.

Hoping to deceive and cheat his way through another election before that full inquiry would be presenting it's judgement and conclusions.

No wonder Johnson doesn't still and hasn't wanted that full inquiry sooner.
He knows how much more damning it will be than even this report.

Beso

It's not difficult to understand.

This is a parliamentary report from 2 sets of cross party MPs looking into the UK government's handling of the pandemic from its outset.

I get Cons and closet Cons will not want their deceitful leader got at in any way no matter what he does or even doesn't do.

This is a report into his UK government's handling of the virus and pandemic.

For those who have lost loved ones in ENGLAND, this report is in part welcomed although the full inquiry is what the far too early bereaved are waiting for.

So hardline Cons and closet Cons may need to fasten their seat belts once that is eventually started then comes to its conclusions.

Because I believe Johnson and his leading Ministers of the time will be exposed for the incompetent, negligent, deceitful lying creeps they are as to the unnecessary deaths of thousands of peoples loved ones.

i think plenty mistakes were made, but many of them didn't matter in the long run.

Protecting the vulnerable in the community and in hospitals and care homes was the biggest failure. That could and should have been handled better, no excuses work on that one

Lack of PPE. Another major failing that cost many lives. We should have been prepared for the possibility of a pandemic and we just weren't. However, i think that could be levelled at any government going back decades

I have never, don't and never will like Tony Blair.
We'd have been in Iraq no matter who was in government.
No Con government would say NO to a Republican President.

I wouldn't have been supporting the Iraq invasion again.
I cannot stand Blair and yes he got away with deceit to parliament, as to the reasons to go into Iraq again.
Soldiers are trained to fight and kill.

This pandemic was not a warzone, this was a health issue.
Which the most vulnerable needed the fullest protection of.
Yet this useless PM and his Ministers through stubbornness and incompetent negligence put the vulnerable and elderly in danger where they lost their lives unnecessary.
Thousands of them as this report outlines.

Try to justify Johnson and the Cons all you like.
This report is damning.

You may well hope for Johnson and his Cons, that no punishments may be recommended.
However, I know the evidence I and loads of other bereaved families have for lost loved ones.

I doubt a full inquiry will be anything other than disgusted at the failure and negligence of Johnson to protect HIS citizens lives.
AS I said THOUSANDS of them which this report states.

Not Soldiers, but dependent and elderly in care homes and doctors, Nurses and carers thrown into the front line of dangerous health care, without adequate or even enough protective garments.

You may excuse that as Cons and closet Cons mostly will, I and hundreds of thousands of others robbed of loved ones before their time longing for this full inquiry, never ever will.

Money was thrown at issues, which you would expect in an emergency, things cost more, that's the way it is. Awarding contracts to mates is a different thing, and they should be held to account for that

I'm going to make one more point then withdraw because this is a very personal and devastating issue for me and my family.

However, you can divert from the government and Johnson all you like as to blame.

However he had ALL the available data at the time of the massive dangers of this virus.
From his health and scientific so called experts.

To blame the public is frankly grossly unfair.
We have NEVER had the full detailed information presented to us to make the right or necessary decisions.

The mixed messaging of government caused even more confusion.
We needed strong and rigid rulings and direction from those with ALL the information of the time.

What we got was dangerously incompetent negligence across the board from Johnson and co.

That video piece is factually incorrect all over the place. Shocking.

Kids dont need a second dose because their immune response is already high, this was pointed out by the vaccine regulatory authority.

All it takes is a new strain to come along ... wrong. New strains appear all the time. They are only a concern if the vaccines don't offer protection and so far over the last year, that hasn't been the case

this was the rate of infection just before we removed all restrictions, so why the exclamation? The number of deaths has stayed fairly low, no exponential rise as we opened up so clearly the person quoting 100 per day would have the country bankrupt which would have been a much worse outcome

This stuff drives me nuts - actual idiots who cannot comprehend simple statistics looking at graphs and numbers and saying "OMG look!". People like this who don't understand stats should not look at stats.

- The vast majority of deaths are in the over-65 age range.
- Almost everyone in the UK in the over 65 age range is fully vaccinated.

That's it. That's all there is to these "strange" stats. Utterly meaningless, and painful to listen to such nonsense.

I'd just like to go back to, you have a bit of flu for a couple of days or so, and then you go back to work when you feel better, it was much simpler in the old World.

IF you have symptoms you should really get a PCR test not everyone loses their sense of smell or gets a cough ...PCRs are more or less 100 per cent you have to book online at your local test centre

Good for that Freak. You post Pro Covid, pro vacancie, pro government, pro big company, pro mainstream media stuff all day long. All I do is share an alternative view to yours. I like to look out for the little people, the ones without much of a voice or platform.

Don't get so wound up about it. This is what freedom of speech is all about. I have most of the forum against me on this, I get called all sorts of names but I don't cry about it I just Soldier on anyway, because they're name calling inspires me on to do so.

Nothing wrong in saying that.Definitely not nothing wrong in saying that, but they probably think the same about the mainstream.

I think people obsessing over Harry and Meghan whilst people's Worlds are being torn apart are odd, but I let them get on with it. Each to their own. I find people just accepting the President of the United States being censored as being normal is odd, I think people just accepting having their freedoms taken away is scarey. I don't think what's happened in the past two years is normal. It's definitely not how life should be. Some people just accept it and some people say "no, this isn't right"

138,852 Total UK Deaths of Covid-19

https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/138,852 deaths. so let's take into account that all those people who died had family members, possibly husbands, wife's, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. Then they all had friends. So you could probably times that 138,852 by between 10-20, which would take you between 1-2 million people in mourning, just in the UK just from Covid. Then how many more are in mourning from people who died from something other than Covid? I don't see it where I live and I live in a big city.

You don't see what? People mourning? What do you think people do when they mourn? Wail in the streets for all to see? Shout about it? People handle grief in a multitude of ways.....you can't always "see" it, even in a big city

Then there's all the different areas of celebrity. Sports, music, TV presenters, actors, politicians ect. I don't hear that many claiming they know lots of people who have died of Covid. You hear from a few, but millions? Nowhere near.

How many of these millions have kicked up a stink about not being able to visit or see their dying friends or relatives? Again, a few, but millions, nowhere even close to that.

No, you talk to people, who talk to people who know people and you hear things.

Well plenty of people ARE talking about it. I personally know of 4 people who have died of covid and in the last 6 months have lost 6 people from my life from other causes. I haven't really spoke about it, doesn't make them alive though

compared to 60 million people 140k people is a very small proportion, spread over 18+ months, so unless you have friends/ relatives that are predominately in the 65+ age group, you may well not have heard of anyone who died from it. That doesn't mean people haven't died. It's pretty basic stuff Alf

Everyone now seems to have this really bad cold thats not a cold or flu but also not covid and I see much stress about it :D

I saw it described as the moon variant the other day. Which was rather amusing.

(Edit. I realise people have died and its not really something to joke about. I know people who have died too. But it seems...worrying for worryings sake at this stage. This cold thing. Yeah, we get colds. They are not covid. So why stress. We also wont ever be rid of covid either, if thats a goal.)
